The HN parameters, α, β, G0, G∞and τHN were determined by solving the HN equation across various temperatures and frequencies. The HN model successfully predicted the rheological behavior of the asphalt and its blends within the temperature range of 25˚C - 40˚C. However, deviations occurred between 40˚C - 75˚C, where the glass transition temperature Tg of the asphalt components and the SBS polymer are located, rendering the HN model ineffective for predicting the dynamic viscoelastic properties of composites containing OMMt under these conditions. Yet, the prediction error of the HN model dropped to 2.28% - 2.81% for asphalt and its mixtures at 100˚C, a temperature exceeding the Tg values of both polymer and asphalt, where the mixtures exhibited a liquid-like behavior. The exponent α and the relaxation time increased with temperature across all systems. Incorporating OMMt clay into the asphalt blends significantly enhanced the relaxation dynamics of the resulting composites.展开更多

However, traditional BRBs have several disadvantages caused by using a steel tube to envelope the mortar to prevent the core plate from buckling, such as: complex interfaces between the materials used, uncertain precision, and time consumption during the manufacturing processes. In this study, a new device called the multi-curve buckling restrained brace (MC-BRB) is proposed to overcome these disadvantages. The new device consists of a core plate with multiple neck portions assembled to form multiple energy dissipation segments, and the enlarged segment, lateral support elements and constraining elements to prevent the BRB from buckling. The enlarged segment located in the middle of the core plate can be welded to the lateral support and constraining elements to increase buckling resistance and to prevent them from sliding during earthquakes. Component tests and a series of shaking table tests on a full-scale steel structure equipped with MC-BRBs were carried out to investigate the behavior and capability of this new BRB design for seismic mitigation. To date, the impact of backwater on the water surface profile in curved channels remains unknown and requires investigation. In this study, experiments were conducted in a glass-walled recirculating flume with a length of 19.4 m, a width of 0.6 m, and a depth of 0.8 m, and the impact of backwater on the water surface profile in a 90° channel bend was investigated. The experimental results showed that the backwater degree had a significant impact on the transverse and longitudinal flow depth distributions in the bend. The transverse slope of the flow (Jr) increased linearly with an increase in the Froude number of the approach flow upstream of the bend. Jr increased with the longitudinal location parameter ξ when −0.2 < ξ < 0.5, and decreased with ξ when 0.5 < ξ < 1.2. Furthermore, the results showed that Jr asymptotically decreased to zero with an increase in the degree of backwater. An equation was formulated to estimate the transverse slope of the flow in a 90° bend in backwater zones.展开更多

文摘Intersecting is an important factor which influences the effociency androbustness of Boolean algorithms in solid modeling based on surved-surfaces,andintersecting algorithms are closely related to geometric representations of curved-surfaces.Although surfaces can be commonly represented with NURBS,unnecessary complexitiesare caused in the intersecting of quadric surfaces.Quadrics are frequently used to des-cribe geometric features of shafts, holes and grooves etc.in mechanical part designing, therefore;their intersection algorithms are required to have higher accuracy, higher efficiency and higher robustness. For this reason,a practical representation ofquadric surfaces is studied in detail, and on the basis of that, algorithms of intersectingpoints are developed between quadric suraces and their boundaies,i.e.,conics,quarticnonplanar space curves.

文摘A geometric model of curved blood vessels is established based on some reasonable hypotheses; the nonlinear motion mechanics model of the curved blood vessel is established according to basic mechanics laws. This model includes much more physiological factors. It couples the interaction of blood flow with mechanical factors such as the displacement, deformation, strain and stress etc. of the curved blood vessel. It is of great importance for investigating the circulation rules of the cardiovascular system and the nonlinear pulse wave propagation in curved blood vessels.
文摘The present paper deals with the problem of assessing the local influence in a growth curve model with Rao's simple covariance structure. Based on the likelihood displacement, the curvature measure is employed to evaluate the effects of some minor perturbations on the statistical inference, thus leading to the large curvature direction, which is the most critical diagnostic statistic in the context of the local influence analysis. As an application, the common covariance-weighted perturbation scheme is thoroughly considered.

文摘This article considers the admissibility of the linear estimators for the regression coefficients in the growth curve model subject to an incomplete ellipsoidal restriction. The necessary and sufficient conditions for linear estimators to be admissible in classes of the homogeneous and non-homogeneous linear estimators, respectively, are obtained under the quadratic loss function. They are generalizations of some existing results in literature.

文摘For accurate prediction of the deformation of cable in the towed system, a new finite element model is presented that provides a representation of both the bending and torsional effects. In this paper, the cubic spline interpolation function is applied as the trial solution. By using a weighted residual approach, the discretized motion equations for the new finite element model are developed. The model is calculated with the computation program complier by Matlab. Several numerical examples are presented to illustrate the numerical schemes. The results of numerical simulation are stable and valid, and consistent with the mechanical properties of the cable. The model can be applied to kinematics analysis and the design of ocean cable, such as mooring lines, towing, and ROV umbilical cables.

文摘Owing to extensive construction of dams, the impact of backwater on flow may lead to navigation or flood control issues in curved channels. An equation was formulated to estimate the transverse slope of the flow in a 90° bend in backwater zones.
文摘Deep neural networks are gaining importance and popularity in applications and services.Due to the enormous number of learnable parameters and datasets, the training of neural networks is computationally costly.Parallel and distributed computation-based strategies are used to accelerate this training process.Generative Adversarial Networks(GAN)are a recent technological achievement in deep learning. These generative models are computationally expensive because a GAN consists of two neural networks and trains on enormous datasets.Typically,a GAN is trained on a single server.Conventional deep learning accelerator designs are challenged by the unique properties of GAN,like the enormous computation stages with non-traditional convolution layers. This work addresses the issue of distributing GANs so that they can train on datasets distributed over many TPUs(Tensor Processing Unit).Distributed learning training accelerates the learning process and decreases computation time.In this paper, the Generative Adversarial Network is accelerated using the distributed multi-core TPU in distributed data-parallel synchronous model. For adequate acceleration of the GAN network, the data parallel SGD(Stochastic Gradient Descent)model is implemented in multi-core TPU using distributed TensorFlow with mixed precision,bfloat16,and XLA(Accelerated Linear Algebra). The study was conducted on the MNIST dataset for varying batch sizes from 64 to 512 for 30 epochs in distributed SGD in TPU v3 with 128×128 systolic array. An extensive batch technique is implemented in bfloat16 to decrease the storage cost and speed up floating-point computations. The accelerated learning curve for the generator and discriminator network is obtained. The training time was reduced by 79%by varying the batch size from 64 to 512 in multi-core TPU.
文摘In this paper, a method of optimizing the number of hidden layer neurons has been put forward. This optimizing method is suitable for three layers B-p network. The purpose of this optimizing method is to reduce the predicting errors when the model is used as predicting model. As an example of application, a predicting model of steel end-quench curves has been designed by using this optimizing method. The result shows that the optimization of ANN hidden layer architecture has an effect on reducing predicting errors.
