The conventional method for wave height inversion is based on the ratio of the integration of the second-order spectral continuum to that of the first-order region, where the strong external noise and the incorrect delineation of the first- and second-order Doppler spectral regions due to spectral aliasing are two major sources of errors in the wave height. To account for these factors, two more indices are introduced to the wave height estimation, i.e., the ratio of the maximum power of the second-or- der continuum to that of the Bragg spectral region (RSCB) and the ratio of the power of the second harmonic peak to that of the Bragg peak (RSHB). Both indices also have a strong correlation with the underlying wave height. On the basis of all these indices an empirical model is proposed to estimate the wave height. This method has been used in a three-months long experiment of the ocean state measuring and analyzing ra- dar, type S (OSMAR-S), which is a portable HFSWR with compact cross-loop/monopole receive antennas developed by Wuhan University since 2006. During the experiment in the Taiwan Strait, the significant wave height varied from 0 to 5 m. The significant wave heights estimated by the OSMAR-S correlate well with the data provided by the Oceanweather Inc. for comparison, with a correlation coefficient of 0.74 and a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.77 m. The proposed method has made an effective improvement to the wave height estimation and thus a further step toward operational use of the OSMAR-S in the wave height extraction.展开更多

With ...With appropriate geometry configuration, helicopter- borne rotating synthetic aperture radar (ROSAR) can break through the limitations of monostatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on forward-looking imaging. With this capability, ROSAR has extensive potential applications, such as self-navigation and self-landing. Moreover, it has many advantages if combined with the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) technology. A novel geometric configuration and an imaging algorithm for helicopter-borne FMCW-ROSAR are proposed. Firstly, by per- forming the equivalent phase center principle, the separated trans- mitting and receiving antenna system is equalized to the case of system configuration with antenna for both transmitting and receiving signals. Based on this, the accurate two-dimensional spectrum is obtained and the Doppler frequency shift effect in- duced by the continuous motion of the platform during the long pulse duration is compensated. Next, the impacts of the velocity approximation error on the imaging algorithm are analyzed in de- tail, and the system parameters selection and resolution analysis are presented. The well-focused SAR image is then obtained by using the improved Omega-K algorithm incorporating the accurate compensation method for the velocity approximation error. FJnally, correctness of the analysis and effectiveness of the proposed al- gorithm are demonstrated through simulation results.展开更多

Not only an imaging and target detection algorithm for stepped frequency signal based on the wavelet transform, but also its respective power spectrum are proposed. The multisampling property of stepped frequency signal is studied and wavelet transform is well suited for analyzing the signal. After multisampling property of stepped frequency signal being studied, it is shown that the wavelet transform is appropriate to analyze the signal. Based on the theory, the wavelet power spectrum analysis is applied to obtain the target range profile and the binary wavelet transform is used to perform target detection. 文摘With appropriate geometry configuration, helicopter- borne rotating synthetic aperture radar (ROSAR) can break through the limitations of monostatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on forward-looking imaging. FJnally, correctness of the analysis and effectiveness of the proposed al- gorithm are demonstrated through simulation results.

文摘The problem of joint direction of arrival (DOA) and Doppler frequency estimation in monostatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is studied and a computationally efficient multiple signal classification (CE-MUSIC) algorithm is proposed.Conventional MUSIC algorithm for joint DOA and Doppler frequency estimation requires a large computational cost due to the two dimensional (2D) spectral peak searching.Aiming at this shortcoming, the proposed CE-MUSIC algorithm firstly uses a reduced-dimension transformation to reduce the subspace dimension and then obtains the estimates of DOA and Doppler frequency with only one-dimensional (1D) search. The proposed CE-MUSIC algorithm has much lower computational complexity and very close estimation performance when compared to conventional 2D-MUSIC algorithm.Furthermore,it outperforms estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance technique (ESPRIT) algorithm.Meanwhile, the mean squared error (MSE) and Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) of joint DOA and Doppler frequency estimation are derived.Detailed simulation results illustrate the validity and improvement of the proposed algorithm.
文摘The imaging and target detection methods for stepped frequency signal based on the wavelet transform and its power spectrum are investigated. To determine a suitable wavelet scaling for imaging of range profile's MMW radar, the distance resolution ΔR technique is proposed. The effectiveness of this new method is evaluated using simulated noisy radar signal. Results show that the proposed method can bring out the exactness and low computational complexity of this method.
文摘Introducing frequency agility into a distributed multipleinput multiple-output(MIMO)radar can significantly enhance its anti-jamming ability. However,it would cause the sidelobe pedestal problem in multi-target parameter estimation.Sparse recovery is an effective way to address this problem, but it cannot be directly utilized for multi-target parameter estimation in frequency-agile distributed MIMO radars due to spatial diversity. In this paper,we propose an algorithm for multi-target parameter estimation according to the signal model of frequency-agile distributed MIMO radars,by modifying the orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP)algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed method is then verified by simulation results.

文摘High resolution range imaging with correlation processing suffers from high sidelobe pedestal in random frequency-hopping wideband radar. After the factors which affect the sidelobe pedestal being analyzed,a compressed sensing based algorithm for high resolution range imaging and a new minimized l 1-norm criterion for motion compensation are proposed. The random hopping of the transmitted carrier frequency is converted to restricted isometry property of the observing matrix. Then practical problems of imaging model solution and signal parameter design are resolved.Due to the particularity of the proposed algorithm, two new indicators of range profile,i.e.,average signal to sidelobe ratio and local similarity, are defined. The chamber measured data are adopted to testify the validity of the proposed algorithm, and simulations are performed to analyze the precision of velocity measurement as well as the performance of motion compensation. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has such advantages as high precision velocity measurement, low sidelobe and short period imaging, which ensure robust imaging for moving targets when signal-to-noise ratio is above 10 dB.

文摘Design of orthogonal code sets with ideal correlation properties is crucial for orthogonalMultiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)radar.A modified Genetic Algorithm(GA)is proposed tonumerically design orthogonal Discrete Frequency-Coding Waveforms(DFCWs)with good correlationproperties for MIMO radar. Some of the designed results are presented, and their correlation propertiesare better than those presented in literatures. The effect of Doppler frequency shift on the performanceof these signals is simply investigated.Simulation results and comparisons show that the proposedalgorithm is more effective for the design of DFCWs with superior aperiodic correlation properties.
文摘According to the frequency property of Phasedarray ground penetrating radar (PGPR), this paper gives a frequency point slice method based on Wigner time-frequency analysis. This method solves the problem of analysis for the PGPR's superposition data and makes detecting outcome simpler and detecting target more recognizable.
