Slope stability assessment is a geotechnical problem characterized by many sources of uncertainty. In clas- sical reliability analysis, only the randomness of uncertainties is taken into account but the fuzziness of them is ignored. In this paper, a fuzzy probability approach and a fuzzy JC method are presented for the reliability analysis. The two methods have been applied to stability analysis of a certain slope of permanent ship lock in the Three-Gorges Project. The results obtained from these two methods are basically the same. However, compared with the fuzzy probability means, the fuzzy JC method can reflect the real situation better because it uses a fuzzy-based analysis applied to not only limit state equation but also mechanical parameters. 展开更多

Traditionally, random uncertaintieswere often considered, while fuzzy uncertainties were ignored. Therefore, fuzzy-random methodsshould he proposed. A fuzzy point estimate method was proposed by Dodagoudar, that is, consideringthe effect of fuzzy-random factors, the fuzzy-random limit state function of slopes is changed torandom interval limit state function by the lambda level cutting, then the moments of the functioncan be obtained by the Rosenblueth's method, and the stability state of slopes can be evaluated bysynthesizing a group of moments. But in Dodagoudar's method, Rosenblueth's state function iscomposed of only two kinds of combinations of parameters rather than 2~n kinds of combinations. So amodified fuzzy point estimate method is proposed by the authors, and it is used in a slopereliability analysis. 展开更多

Regard for the fuzziness and the randomness in some acoustic fields,a method for the numerical analysis of the 2D acoustic field with Fuzzy-Random parameters was proposed based on the equivalent conversion of information entropy.In the proposed method,a fuzzyrandom acoustic field was treated as a pure fuzzy acoustic field or a pure random acoustic field by transforming all the variables into fuzzy variables or random variables.Perturbation finite element methods for analyzing the two-dimensional acoustic fuzzy and random field are deduced.The sound pressure response of a 2D acoustic tube and the 2D acoustic cavity of a car with fuzzy-random parameters were analyzed by the proposed method and the Monte Carlo method,the results show that the proposed method can be well applied to the numerical analysis of the 2D acoustic field with fuzzy-random parameters,and has good prospect of engineering application. 展开更多
