The control of gas fractionation unit(GFU) in petroleum industry is very difficult due to multivariable characteristics and a large time delay.PID controllers are still applied in most industry processes.However,the traditional PID control has been proven not sufficient and capable for this particular petro-chemical process.In this work,an incremental multivariable predictive functional control(IMPFC) algorithm was proposed with less online computation,great precision and fast response.An incremental transfer function matrix model was set up through the step-response data,and predictive outputs were deduced with the theory of single-value optimization.The results show that the method can optimize the incremental control variable and reject the constraint of the incremental control variable with the positional predictive functional control algorithm,and thereby making the control variable smoother.The predictive output error and future set-point were approximated by a polynomial,which can overcome the problem under the model mismatch and make the predictive outputs track the reference trajectory.Then,the design of incremental multivariable predictive functional control was studied.Simulation and application results show that the proposed control strategy is effective and feasible to improve control performance and robustness of process. 展开更多

In this paper, a multiple population genetic algorithm (MPGA) is proposed to solve the problem of optimal load dispatch of gas turbine generation units. By introducing multiple populations on the basis of Standard Genetic Algorithm (SGA), connecting each population through immigrant operator and preserving the best individuals of every generation through elite strategy, MPGA can enhance the efficiency in obtaining the global optimal solution. In this paper, MPGA is applied to optimize the load dispatch of 3×390MW gas turbine units. The results of MPGA calculation are compared with that of equal micro incremental method and AGC instruction. MPGA shows the best performance of optimization under different load conditions. The amount of saved gas consumption in the calculation is up to 2337.45m3N/h, which indicates that the load dispatch optimization of gas turbine units via MPGA approach can be effective. 展开更多

The hydraulic flow unit approach was used to classify reservoir rocks according to its pore aperture size in the cored wells. The predicted permeability was calculated from core porosity and core permeability relationship for each flow unit. The difference between Neutron porosity and Density porosity was recognized to distinguish different hydraulic flow units. The higher difference indicates higher quality flow unit and vice versa. In view of the existing situation of gas field development, one kind of method to evaluate the production performance of gas production units (GPUs) was presented in this paper. Among the commonly used indicators of gas field development, we select 11 indicators from the three aspects of production task, gas reservoir management, and production technology. According to the principle of analytic network process (ANP), this paper introduced one kind of new method to get the weights of indicators. By means of the method of TOPSIS, it is easy to obtain the rankings for all the GPUs through calculating the weighted Euclidean distance between each GPU and the positive or negative ideal point. This evaluation method could constantly improve the management level of gas production units and deepen the delicacy management of gas field development. 展开更多

Objective:To describe the strategies and outcomes of mechanical ventilation in a poorly equipped facility.Methods:This retrospective descriptive study included patients with COVID-19 who were admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU)and mechanically ventilated between September 1,2020,and May 31,2021.Data were collected from medical records and databases.Results:54 Patients aged(62.9±13.3)years were included.Among these cases,79.6%had at least one comorbidity.On admission,all patients had hypoxia.The median peripheral oxygen saturation in room air was 76%(61%,83%).Non-invasive ventilation(NIV)was performed in 75.9%of the patients,and invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV)in 68.5%.IMV was performed on patients due to severe coma(8.1%),failure of standard oxygen therapy(27.0%),and failure of NIV(64.9%).An arterial blood gas test was performed in 14.8%of the patients.NIV failed in 90.2%of cases and succeeded in 9.8%.IMV was successful in 5.4%of cases,vs.94.6%of mortality.The overall mortality rate of patients on ventilation in the ICU was 88.9%.The causes of death included severe respiratory distress syndrome(85.2%),multiple organ failure(14.8%),and pulmonary embolism(13.0%).Conclusions:The ventilation management of COVID-19 patients in the ICU with NIV and IMV in a scarce resource setting is associated with a high mortality rate.Shortcomings are identified in ventilation strategies,protocols,and monitoring.Required improvements were also proposed. 展开更多

Based on the analysis of the basic characteristics of medium-and large-sized marine gas fields in Sichuan Basin, combined with the division of major reservoir forming geological units in the marine craton stage and their control on key hydrocarbon accumulation factors, the distribution law of medium-and large-sized marine carbonate gas fields in the basin was examined and the exploration direction was pointed out. Through the analysis of the periodic stretching-uplifting background, it is concluded that five large scale paleo-rifts, three large scale paleo-uplifts, five large scale paleo erosion surfaces were formed in the marine craton stage of Sichuan Basin, and these geological units control the key reservoir forming factors of medium and large sized gas fields:(1) Large-scale paleo-rifts control the distribution of high-quality hydrocarbon generation centers.(2) The margin of large-scale paleo-rifts, high position of paleo-uplifts and paleo erosion surfaces control the distribution of high-quality reservoirs.(3) Large-scale paleo-rifts, paleo-uplifts, paleo erosion surfaces and present tectonic setting jointly control the formation of many types of large and medium-sized traps.(4) Natural gas accumulation is controlled by the inheritance evolution of traps in large geological units. Based on the comparative analysis of the distribution characteristics of medium-and large-sized gas fields and large geological units, it is proposed that the superimposition relationship between single or multiple geological units and the present structure controls the distribution of medium-and large-sized gas fields, and the "three paleo" superimposed area is the most advantageous. According to the above rules, the main exploration fields and directions of medium-and large-sized marine carbonate gas fields in Sichuan Basin include periphery of Deyang-Anyue paleo-rift, eastern margin of Longmenshan paleo-rift, margins of Kaijiang-Liangping oceanic trough and Chengkou-western Hubei oceanic trough, the high part of the subaqueous paleo-uplifts around Central Sichuan, paleo erosion surfaces of the top boundary of Maokou Formation in eastern and southern Sichuan Basin, paleo erosion surfaces of the top boundary of the Leikoupo Formation in central and western Sichuan Basin. 展开更多

It is essential to characterize fluid flow in porous media to have a better understanding of petrophysical properties.Many approaches were developed to determine reservoir permeability among which the integrated analysis of hydraulic flow unit(HFU)and electrofacies(EF)is considered to be useful one.However,the application of HFU and EF analysis has not been totally understood with a limited data to develop correlation for less distance offset wells.In this study,an attempt was made to show the application of integrating HFU and EF for reliable estimation of permeability using core and wireline log data in one of the gas fields in Pakistan.The results obtained indicate that the integrated approach proposed in this study can be used,especially in less distance offset wells when a limited number of data are available for petrophysical characterization. 展开更多

We present a systematic summary of the geological characteristics,exploration and development history and current state of shale oil and gas in the United States.The hydrocarbon-rich shales in the major shale basins of the United States are mainly developed in six geological periods:Middle Ordovician,Middle-Late Devonian,Early Carboniferous(Middle-Late Mississippi),Early Permian,Late Jurassic,and Late Cretaceous(Cenomanian-Turonian).Depositional environments for these shales include intra-cratonic basins,foreland basins,and passive continental margins.Paleozoic hydrocarbon-rich shales are mainly developed in six basins,including the Appalachian Basin(Utica and Marcellus shales),Anadarko Basin(Woodford Shale),Williston Basin(Bakken Shale),Arkoma Basin(Fayetteville Shale),Fort Worth Basin(Barnett Shale),and the Wolfcamp and Leonardian Spraberry/Bone Springs shale plays of the Permian Basin.The Mesozoic hydrocarbon-rich shales are mainly developed on the margins of the Gulf of Mexico Basin(Haynesville and Eagle Ford)or in various Rocky Mountain basins(Niobrara Formation,mainly in the Denver and Powder River basins).The detailed analysis of shale plays reveals that the shales are different in facies and mineral components,and"shale reservoirs"are often not shale at all.The United States is abundant in shale oil and gas,with the in-place resources exceeding 0.246×10^(12)t and 290×10^(12)m^(3),respectively.Before the emergence of horizontal well hydraulic fracturing technology to kick off the"shale revolution",the United States had experienced two decades of exploration and production practices,as well as theory and technology development.In 2007-2023,shale oil and gas production in the United States increased from approximately 11.2×10^(4)tons of oil equivalent per day(toe/d)to over 300.0×10^(4)toe/d.In 2017,the shale oil and gas production exceeded the conventional oil and gas production in the country.In 2023,the contribution from shale plays to the total U.S.oil and gas production remained above 60%.The development of shale oil and gas has largely been driven by improvements in drilling and completion technologies,with much of the recent effort focused on“cube development”or“co-development”.Other efforts to improve productivity and efficiency include refracturing,enhanced oil recovery,and drilling of“U-shaped”wells.Given the significant resources base and continued technological improvements,shale oil and gas production will continue to contribute significant volumes to total U.S.hydrocarbon production. 展开更多

This study set out to gain a deeper understanding of a fluid catalytic cracking(FCC)coprocessing approach using canola oil mixed with bitumen-derived heavy gas oil(HGO),for the production of partially-renewable gasoline,with respect to its composition and quality.The FCC coprocessing approach may provide an alternative solution to reducing the carbon footprint and to meet government regulatory demands for renewable transportation fuels.In this study,a mixture of 15 v%canola oil in HGO was catalytically cracked with a commercial equilibrium catalyst under typical FCC conditions.Cracking experiments were performed using a bench-scale Advanced Cracking Evaluation(ACE)unit at a fixed weight hourly space velocity of 8 h^(à1),490–530C,and catalyst/oil ratios of 4–12 g/g.The total liquid product samples were injected via an automatic sampler and a prefractionator(to removet254C)into a gas chromatographic system containing a series of columns,traps,and valves designed to separate each of the hydrocarbon types.The analyzer gives detailed hydrocarbon types of à200C gasoline,classified into paraffins,iso-paraffins,olefins,naphthenes,and aromatics by carbon number up to C_(11)(C_(10)for aromatics).For a feed cracked at a given temperature,the gasoline aromatics show the highest selectivity in terms of weight percent conversion,followed by saturated iso-paraffins,saturated naphthenes,unsaturated iso-paraffins,unsaturated naphthenes,unsaturated normal paraffins,and saturated normal paraffins.As conversion increases,both aromatics and saturated iso-paraffins increase monotonically at the expense of other components.Hydrocarbon type analysis and octane numbers with variation in feed type,process severity(temperature and catalyst/oil ratio),and conversion are also presented and discussed. 展开更多

Effects of nursing team communication and collaboration on treatment outcomes in intensive care unit patients with severe pneumonia

BACKGROUND Severe pneumonia is a common severe respiratory infection worldwide,and its treatment is challenging,especially for patients in the intensive care unit(ICU).AIM To explore the effect of communication and collaboration between nursing teams on the treatment outcomes of patients with severe pneumonia in ICU.METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 60 patients with severe pneumonia who were treated at the ICU of the hospital between January 1,2021 and December 31,2023.We compared and analyzed the respiratory mechanical indexes[airway resistance(Raw),mean airway pressure(mPaw),peak pressure(PIP)],blood gas analysis indexes(arterial oxygen saturation,arterial oxygen partial pressure,and oxygenation index),and serum inflammatory factor levels[C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),cortisol(COR),and high mobility group protein B1(HMGB1)]of all patients before and after treatment.RESULTS Before treatment,there was no significant difference in respiratory mechanics index and blood gas analysis index between 2 groups(P>0.05).However,after treatment,the respiratory mechanical indexes of patients in both groups were significantly improved,and the improvement of Raw,mPaw,plateau pressure,PIP and other indexes in the combined group after communication and collaboration with the nursing team was significantly better than that in the single care group(P<0.05).The serum CRP and PCT levels of patients were significantly decreased,and the difference was statistically significant compared with that of nursing group alone(P<0.05).The levels of serum COR and HMGB1 before and after treatment were also significantly decreased between the two groups.CONCLUSION The communication and collaboration of the nursing team have a significant positive impact on respiratory mechanics indicators,blood gas analysis indicators and serum inflammatory factor levels in the treatment of severe pneumonia patients in ICU. 展开更多

The increasing adoption of gas-fired power plants directly strengthens the coupling between electric power and natural gas systems. Current industrial practice in optimal power flow for electric power systems has not taken the security constraints of gas systems into consideration, resulting in an overly-optimistic solution. Meanwhile, the operation of electric power and natural gas systems is coupled over multiple periods because of the ramp rate limits of power generators and the slow dynamical characteristics of gas systems. Based on these motivations, we propose a multi-period integrated natural gas and electric power system probabilistic optimal power flow(M-GEPOPF) model, which includes dynamic gas flow models. To address the uncertainties originating from wind power and load forecasting, a probabilistic optimal power flow(POPF) calculation based on a three-point estimate method(3 PEM) is adopted. Moreover, power-togas(Pt G) units are employed to avoid wind power curtailment and enable flexible bi-directional energy flows between the coupled energy systems. An integrated IEEE RTS 24-bus electric power system and the Belgian 20-node natural gas system are employed as a test case to verify the applicability of the proposed M-GEPOPF model, and to demonstrate the potential economic benefits of Pt G units. 展开更多

BACKGROUND:Due to the still sparse literature in China,the investigation of hyperoxemia management is required.Thus,we aim to conduct a retrospective study to provide more information about hyperoxemia management in intensive care unit(ICU)patients.METHODS:We retrospectively screened the medical records of adult patients(age≥18 years)who required mechanical ventilation(MV)≥24 hours from January 1,2018,to December 31,2018.All arterial blood gas(ABG)tested during MV was retrieved,and MV settings were recorded.The median arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)>120 mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa)was defined as mild to moderate hyperoxemia,and PaO2>300 mmHg as extreme hyperoxemia.Intensivists’response to hyperoxemia was assessed based on the reduction of fraction of inspired oxygen(FiO2)within one hour after hyperoxemia was recorded.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the independent factors associated with the intensivists’response to hyperoxemia.RESULTS:A total of 592 patients were fi nally analyzed.The median Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II(APACHE II)score was 21(15-26).The PaO2,arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2),FiO2,and positive end expiratory pressure(PEEP)were 96.4(74.0-126.0)mmHg,97.8%(95.2%-99.1%),0.4(0.4-0.5),and 5(3-6)cmH2O,respectively.Totally 174(29.39%)patients had PaO2>120 mmHg,and 19(3.21%)patients had extreme hyperoxemia at PaO2>300 mmHg.In cases of mild to moderate hyperoxemia with FiO2≤0.4,only 13(2.20%)patients had a decrease in FiO2 within one hour.The multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that a positive response was independently associated with FiO2(odds ratio[OR]1.09,95%confi dence interval[CI]1.06-1.12,P<0.001),PaO2(OR 1.01,95%CI 1.00-1.01,P=0.002),and working shifts(OR 5.09,95%CI 1.87-13.80,P=0.001).CONCLUSIONS:Hyperoxemia occurs frequently and is neglected in most cases,particularly when mild to moderate hyperoxemia,hyperoxemia with lower FiO2,hyperoxemia during night and middle-night shifts,or FiO2 less likely to be decreased.Patients may be at a risk of oxygen toxicity because of the liberal oxygen strategy.Therefore,further research is needed to improve oxygen management for patients with MV in the ICUs. 展开更多

Endogenous Levels of Polyamines under Water-Deficit Stress during Cotton’s Reproductive Development 被引量:3

Previous research in other crops has indicated that polyamines and changes in their concentrations are associated with drought tolerance under conditions of water-deficit stress;however, no information exists on cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). Growth chamber experiments were conducted with two cotton cultivars differing in drought tolerance, ST5288B2F (drought-sensitive) and Siokra L23 (drought-tolerant) in order to investigate the distribution of free polyamines, the effect of water-deficit stress on the polyamine metabolism of cotton reproductive units and their subtending leaves as well as the possible relationship between polyamines and drought tolerance in cotton. Our results showed that cotton ovaries contained significantly higher levels of total free polyamines compared to their subtending leaves under both control and water stress conditions. Water-deficit stress significantly increased PUT concentrations in ST5288B2F, while SPM levels significantly decreased in Siokra L23. The results indicated that water-deficit stress significantly affected cotton polyamine metabolism in reproductive structures and their subtending leaves;however, no clear relationship between drought-tolerance and changes in polyamine accumulation was established. Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanism according to which water-deficit stress affects polyamine metabolism. 展开更多

The modern gas turbine engine has been used in current power generation industry for almost half a century. Gas turbines are designed to operate with the best efficiency during normal operating conditions and at specific operating points. However, the real world is non-optimal and the engine may have to operate at off-design conditions due to load requirements, different ambient temperatures, fuel types, relative humidity and driven equipment speed.Also more and more base-load gas turbines have to work today on partial load too, which can affect the hot gas path condition and life expectancy. At these off-design conditions, gas turbine's efficiency and life deterioration rate might significantly deviate from the design specifications. During a gas turbine's life, power generation providers might need to perform several overhauls or upgrades for their engines. Thus, the off-design performance after the overhaul also might be changed. Prediction of gas turbine's off-design performance is essential to economical operation of power generation equipment. In this paper, an integrated system for complex design and off-design performance prediction(Ax STREAM? Platform) is presented. It allows to predict gas turbine engine's design and off-design performance almost automatically. Each component's performance such as turbine, compressor, combustor and entire secondary flow(cooling) system is directly and simultaneously calculated for every off-design performance request, making possible to build an off-design performance map including cooling system. The example of off-design performance estimation of industrial gas turbine engine is presented. The presented approach provides wide capabilities for optimization of operation modes of industrial gas turbine engines and other complex turbomachinery systems for every specific operation conditions(environment, grid demands and other factors). 展开更多

With Songliao Basin in northeast China entering the middle-late stage of the exploration and development of oil and gas resources,it is urgent to open up new areas for oil and gas exploration on the periphery of the basin.Five sedimentary sags have been discovered in the western margin of the Da Hinggan Mountains through high-precision gravity,magnetic,and electrical prospecting engineering.According to the conditions of the 5 sags such as buried depth,area,and the scale of source rock,Hesigewula Sag was preferentially selected to deploy two-dimensional seismic prospecting and drilling.As a result,the stratigraphic distribution and structure of Hesigewula Sag were preliminarily ascertained,the main sedimentary facies developed in Aershan Formation-Tengger Formation of the Lower Cretaceous was summarized,and the assessment parameters of source rock of Hesigewula Sag were obtained.According to the research results,the Hesigewula Sag can be divided into 3 second-order tectonic units including the western bulge,the central sag,and the eastern bulge respectively,and the sag was formed mainly subject to the west fractures.Three sedimentary facies including fan delta facies,braided river delta facies,and lacustrine facies have been identified in the Aershan Formation-Tengger Formation of the sag.The source rock in the first member and second member of Tengger Formation in the sag features high abundance of organic matter,meeting the standards of good source rocks.The kerogen of the source rock is mainly of type Ⅱ1-Ⅱ2.The organic matter in the source rock is characterized by low maturity and it entered the evolution stage of low maturity from the second member of Tengger Formation.Furthermore,Hesigewula Sag bears a strong similarity to other petroliferous sags in Erlian Basin in structure,sedimentation,source rock,and other characteristics.Therefore,it can be preliminarily determined that Hesigewula Sag boasts great potential for oil and gas resources. 展开更多

Alleviation of Pesticide Residue in Surface Water

Zeolite is a natural mineral capable of removing certain chemical contaminants from water. This study was carried out to test the effect of zeolite treatment on pesticide residue alleviation in surface water. Ten surface water samples were treated with natural zeolite by filtering through. An EPA method was used to extract pesticide residue from the water samples and the surfactant used to modify the net charge on the zeolite was hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (HDTMA-Cl). Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to analyze water samples. Alleviation was achieved in all the 10 water samples that were filtered through zeolite. The highest removal of pesticides from water with zeolite included 100% of bifenthrin in sample CLC, atrazine in BPH, CDG and LBT;metolachlor in CLC, LBT, BCH, TRH2 and BPI;acetolachlor in BBH and BCH;azoxystrobin in BBH;desethylatrazine in BCH and BPI;metribuzin in BCH, TRH2 and BPI;and both clomazone and bromacil in sample BDC. A minimum reduction of 10.9% was found for metolachlor in sample BRH. Further reduction of pesticide residues up to 50% was recorded in the SMZ treatment as the concentrations of 4 out of 8 pesticide residues were reduced. This study confirms the potential of both the natural zeolite-Clinoptilolite, and SMZ of alleviating pesticide residues in water. 展开更多

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on health care services, leading to a breakdown in public and private health systems worldwide. A major challenge was the scarcity of mechanical ventilators, which resulted in the use of anaesthesia devices for this purpose. However, they are quite different from mechanical ventilators used in Intensive Care Units and some adaptations, such as the use of high flow to reduce CO2 rebreathing, were necessary to ensure patient safety. The objective of this study was to present a mathematical formula and develop a tool that can be used to adjust the flow of oxygen and air in flow metres of anaesthesia devices that do not have oxygen analysers or these analysers are not operational. A literature review was conducted using the main health databases and libraries as research sources: PubMed, Virtual Health Library (VHL), SciELO, and Cochrane. The review included studies published in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Animal studies were excluded. A total of 11 references were included to support this article. 展开更多
