This paper aims to evaluate the gas-liquid separation performance of three types of cartridge filters used in the West-East natural gas transmission project. The comparison of the original pressure drop of clean filters and the evolution of pressure drop as liquid droplets deposited in the filter media are described. The original pressure drops of these filters were similar but the pressure drops at a steady state were different. Fractional efficiency was used to study the separation performance of cartridge filters. Droplets at the outlet of the filters had small diameters, no more than 3 μm, but were very numerous. The effect of filtration velocity on gas-liquid separation performance was analyzed. Higher filtration velocity indicated better gas-liquid separation performance. Finally the quality factor related to pressure drop and filtration efficiency was applied to evaluate the gas-liquid separation performance.展开更多

In particular, we studied the spatial distributions of the two main faults called Shunyi-Liangxiang fault and Banqiao-Babaoshan-Tongxian fault, which have cut and gone through the central Beijing area striking in NE and EW directions, respectively. The influences of these two faults on the earthquakes have also been discussed briefly.展开更多

Orthodontic tooth movement is known to be associated with the sympathetic nervous system and controlled by the nucleus of the hypothalamus. However, the transmission of both has not been demonstrated in humans. The purpose of this study were to examine the activated cerebral areas using brain functional magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), when orthodontic tooth separators were inserted, and to confirm the possibility of the transmission route from the medulla oblongata to the hypothalamus.METHODS: Two types of alternative orthodontic tooth separators(brass contact gauge and floss) were inserted into the right upper premolars of 10 healthy volunteers. Brain functional T2*-weighted images and anatomical T1-weighted images were taken.RESULTS: The blood oxygenation level dependent(BOLD) signals following insertion of a brass contact gauge and floss significantly increased in the somatosensory association cortex and hypothalamic area.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest the possibility of a transmission route from the medulla oblongata to the hypothalamus.展开更多

The aim of gravit...Gravity data observed in geophysical surveys are the sum of potential field produced by all underground inhomogeneous geological sources with different scales,different patterns and different depths. The aim of gravity exploration is mainly to extract the meaningful local anomaly from the regional gravity anomaly which is helpful to detect the deep structure and delineate the favorable area for mineral prospecting. In this paper,several anomaly separation methods are theoretically discussed,including trend analysis method,finite element method,interpolating cut method and analytic continuation method. And,these methods are applied to achieve the delineation of potash-mine deposit in Vientiane. Through experiments,analysis and comparison,the separating result of upward continuation is shown to be satisfactory,for that can separate the ore body anomaly from the background field more effectively. Further,with the combination of the geological information and gravity anomaly,it infers four rich potash zones in the study area of Vientiane which is significant for future geological work.展开更多

By using the NaO...Rotating packed bed(RPB) is one of the most effective gas–liquid mass transfer enhancement reactors, its effective specific mass transfer area(ae) is critical to understand the mass transfer process. By using the NaOH–CO_(2) chemical absorption method, the aevalues of three RPB reactors with different rotor sizes were measured under different operation conditions. The results showed that the high gravity factor and liquid flow rate were major affecting factors, while the gas flow rate exhibited minor influence.The radius of packing is the dominant equipment factor to affect aevalue. The results indicated that the contact area depends on the dispersion of the liquid phase, thus the centrifugal force of rotating packed bed greatly influenced the aevalue. Moreover, the measured ae/ap(effective specific mass transfer area/specific surface area of packing) values were fitted with dimensionless correlation formulas. The unified correlation formula with dimensionless bed size parameter can well predict the experimental data and the prediction errors were within 15%.展开更多
