Taking a light aircraft as the research object, the torsional freedom of landing gear around strut axis and lateral deformation of tire are considered. Since the landing gear shimmy is a nonlinear system, a nonlinear mechanical model of the front landing gear shimmy is established. Sobol index method is proposed to analyze the influence of structural parameters on the stability region of the nose landing gear, and Routh-Huritz criterion is used to verify the reliability of the analysis results of Sobol index method. We analyse the effect of torsional stiffness of strut, caster length, rated initial tire inflation pressure, rake angle, and vertical force on the stability region of theront landing gear. And the research shows that the optimization of the torsional stiffness of the strut and the caster length of the nose landing gear should be emphasized, and the influence of vertical force on the stability region of the nose landing gear should be paid attention to.展开更多

However, few of the present studies on tooth modification considers the influence of inevitable random errors on gear modification effects. In order to investigate the uncertainties of tooth modification amount variations on system's dynamic behaviors of a helical planetary gears, an analytical dynamic model including tooth modification parameters is proposed to carry out a deterministic analysis on the dynamics of a helical planetary gear. The dynamic meshing forces as well as the dynamic transmission errors of the sun-planet 1 gear pair with and without tooth modifications are computed and compared to show the effectiveness of tooth modifications on gear dynamics enhancement. By using response surface method, a fitted regression model for the dynamic transmission error(DTE) fluctuations is established to quantify the relationship between modification amounts and DTE fluctuations. By shifting the inevitable random errors arousing from manufacturing and installing process to tooth modification amount variations, a statistical tooth modification model is developed and a methodology combining Monte Carlo simulation and response surface method is presented for uncertainty analysis of tooth modifications. The uncertainly analysis reveals that the system's dynamic behaviors do not obey the normal distribution rule even though the design variables are normally distributed. In addition, a deterministic modification amount will not definitely achieve an optimal result for both static and dynamic transmission error fluctuation reduction simultaneously.展开更多

The gen...The calculation method of sliding ratios for conjugate-curve gear pair, generated based on the theory of conjugate curves,is proposed. The theoretical model of conjugate-curve gear drive is briefly introduced. The general calculation formulas of sliding ratios are developed according to the conjugate curves. The applications to the circular arc gears based on conjugate curves and the novel involute-helix gears are studied. A comparison on the sliding coefficient with the conventional corresponding gear drive is also carried out. The influences of gear parameters such as spiral parameter, gear ratio and modulus on the sliding ratios of gear drive are discussed. Brief description of manufacturing method for conjugate-curve gear pair is given. The research results show that the sliding ratios of gear pair become smaller with the increase of spiral parameter and gear ratio, respectively. And it will be greater with the increase of modulus for the tooth profiles. The meshing characteristics of conjugate-curve gears are further reflected and the optimization design of tooth profiles with high performance may be obtained.展开更多

By using EMD, any complicated signal can be decomposed into a finite and often small numberof intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) , which are based upon the local characteristic time scale of thesignal. Thus, EMD is perfectly suitable for non-stationary signal processing and faultcharacteristics extracting. It is well known that a gear vibration signal consists of a number offrequency family components, each of which is a modulated signal. Thus, we can use EMD to decomposea gear fault vibration signal into a number of IMF components, some of which correspond to thefrequency families, and the others are noises. Therefore, the frequency families can be separatedand the noise can be decreased at the same time. The proposed method has been applied to gear faultdiagnosis. Currently, theoretical calculation and experimental method are difficult to exactly solve special transmission contact analysis problem. How to reduce calculation and computer memories consume and meet calculation precision is key to resolve special transmission contact analysis problem. According to 3D model simulation and surface reconstruction of quasi ellipsoid gear is difficulty, this paper employes meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method. In order to reduce calculation and computer memories consume, we disperse tooth mesh into finite points--sparseness points cloud or grid mesh, and then we do interpolation reconstruction in some necessary place of the 3D surface model during analysis. Moving least square method (MLSM) is employed for tooth mesh interpolation reconstruction, there are some advantages to do interpolation by means of MLSM, such as high precision, good flexibility and no require of tooth mesh discretization into units. We input the quasi ellipsoid gear reconstruction model into simulation software, we complete tooth meshing simulation. Simulation transmission ratio during meshing period was obtained, compared with theoretical transmission ratio, the result inosculate preferably. The method using curve reconstruction realizes surface reconstruction, reduce simulation calculation enormously, so special gears simulation can be realized by minitype computer. The method provides a novel solution for special transmission 3D model simulation analysis and contact analysis.展开更多

Three types of relations between components of a certain control parameter combination are defined in a certain control process. Special emphasis is put on the comparison of control efficiencies of the multi-parameter multi-step method and single-parameter multi-step method. The numerical experiments show the ability to switch between different orbits and the method can be a good chaos control alternative since it provides a more effective UPOs stabilization of high-dimensional and non-hyperbolic chaotic systems than the single-parameter chaos control, and according to the relation between components of each parameter combination, the best combination for chaos control in a certain UPO stabilization process are obtained.展开更多
