The objec tive of this procedure is to develop a method for more sensitive detection of th e incipient faults and locating the faults in the gear. The main idea of the sin gle gear tooth analysis is that the vibration signals collected with a high samp ling rate are divided into a number of segments with the same time interval. The number of signal segments is equal to that of the gear teeth. The analysis of i ndividual segments reveals more sensitively the changes of the vibration signals in both time and frequency domain caused by gear faults. In addition, the locat ion of a failed tooth can be indicated in terms of the position of the segment t hat deviates from the normal segments. An experimental investigation verified th e advantages of the single gear tooth analysis.展开更多

Research on the prestressing of the inner ring gear is in the preliminary stage, and the distribution rule of the prestressing and the influence of each parameter on the interference prestressing have not been derived. In this paper, based on the method of calculating the prestressing of the thick cylinder in interference fit, the ring gear is found to be equivalent to a thick cylinder, and the distribution rule of prestressing of the ring gear in the interference fit is inferred. Then, by modeling and analyzing the gearbox body and ring gear in the interference fit using ABAQUS, the distribution rule of prestressing the ring gear in the interference fit is obtained through a numerical simulation. Finally, the prestressing of the ring gear in the interference fit is measured using X-ray di raction, and the distribution rule of prestressing of the ring gear in the interference fit is obtained through analysis. This research proposes a tooth root bending strength conditional formula for the inner ring gear of the interference fit, which serves as a guide for the design and production of the actual interference joint inner ring gear.展开更多

Methods Adopting this method, the key problems of mismatch control and manufacturing of symmetric arcuate tooth trace gears are solved by using suitable cutter tilt and a new generating method with double-edge gear-wheel cutter. The machining principle is analyzed and the mathematical model of generating motion is established. Then the tooth flank equation and differential geometrical parameters are discussed. Results The minim alteration of cutter tilt will make the contact flank area change so as to satisfy the special requirements. It is easy to realize the tip relief of gearing by altering coefficients of every moving axis. Because the tooth has the arc shape, the symmetrical arcuate cylindrical gears have higher overall strength and it is easy to perform the flank grinding for high precision. Conclusion This new generating method has higher productivity. It is easy to get a perfect contact zone and fully give play to the potential bearing capacity of the gears. The symmetrical arcuate cylindrical gears can be used in highly durable and heavy duty gearing applications.展开更多

It is based on the satisfaction of contact condition of three given control points on the tooth surface. The three meshing points are controlled to be on a predesigned straight contact path that meets the pre-designed parabolic function of transmission errors. Designed separately, the magnitude of transmission errors and the orientation of the contact path are subjected to precise control. In addition, in order to meet the manufacturing requirements, we suggest to modify the values of blank offset, one of the pinion machine tool-settings, and redesign pinion ma- chine tool-settings to ensure that the magnitude and the geometry of transmission errors should not be influenced apart from minor effects on the predesigned straight contact path. The proposed approach together with its ideas has been proven by a numerical example and the manufacturing practice of a pair of spiral bevel gears.展开更多

文摘With the method of group test, fourty pairs of carburization-quenching gears made from 16NCD13 steel for aerocraft were tested to research the contacting fatigue strength on tooth flank. As a result, the samples of fatigue life at the moments when the pitting appears and reaches failure criterion were obtained at four stressing levels respectively. The distribution rule of fatigue life were distinguished, and the distribution parameters were estimated by statistical analysis. Based on that, the R-S-N curves with confidence 95% of contacting fatigue on gear tooth flank were evaluated. Therefore, the basic data were provided for the reliability design of the gears and prediction of their life.
