A General Law of Precise Asymptotics for Products of Sums under Dependence

Let {Xn,n ≥ 1} be a strictly stationary LNQD （LPQD） sequence of positive random variables with EX1 = μ 〉 0, and VarX1 = σ^2 〈 ∞. Denote by Sn = ∑i=1^n Xi and γ = σ/μ the coefficients of variation. In this paper, under some suitable conditions, we show that a general law of precise asymptotics for products of sums holds. It can describe the relations among the boundary function, weighted function, convergence rate and limit value in the study of complete convergence.

The General Theory of Law and Its Development in China

Study of the general theory of law,as an independent branch of legal research,originated in Germany in the mid to late 19th century,and thereafter became a widely propagated and well-developed subject in countries such as the UK and the US.Scholars from the Soviet Union combined the general theory of law with Marxist philosophy and adapted it from an analytical legal theory to a social legal theory.The inheritance and development of the general theory of law in China went through three stages.Specifically,from the 1950s to the early 1960s,the jurisprudence community fully adopted the legal theories promoted by the Soviet Union;from the early 1980s to the late 1990s,the studies reflected upon past theories and sought advancement;and from the late 1990s to present,research has adopted a more open and innovative approach.In addition,the philosophy of law and other interdisciplinary subjects have gradually become dominant research paradigms.A review and compilation based on the evolution of theories of legal relations showed that the study of the general theory of law in China is closely associated to the historical rate of progress of the practice of rule of law and jurisprudence in China.The overall framework of the research is deeply influenced by the model of“theories of the Soviet+civil-law prototypes”.In addition,the research methods have evolved from investigations utilizing a single approach to processes combining various approaches.The general theory of law is far from a“relic of history,”and corresponding in-depth research is recommended for future jurisprudence study in China.

LARGE TIME STEP GENERALIZATION OF RANDOM CHOICE FINITE DIFFERENCE SCHEME FOR HYPERBOLIC CONSERVATION LAWS

A natural generalization of random choice finite difference scheme of Harten and Lax for Courant number larger than 1 is obtained. We handle interactions between neighboring Riemann solvers by linear superposition of their conserved quantities. We show consistency of the scheme for arbitrarily large Courant numbers. For scalar problems the scheme is total variation diminishing.A brief discussion is given for entropy condition.

A general result on precise asymptotics for linear processes of positively associated sequences

Let {εt; t ∈ Z^＋} be a strictly stationary sequence of associated random variables with mean zeros, let 0〈Eε1^2〈∞ and σ^2=Eε1^2＋1∑j=2^∞ Eε1εj with 0〈σ^2〈∞.{aj;j∈Z^＋} is a sequence of real numbers satisfying ∑j=0^∞｜aj｜〈∞.Define a linear process Xt=∑j=0^∞ ajεt-j,t≥1,and Sn=∑t=1^n Xt,n≥1.Assume that E｜ε1｜^2＋δ′〈 for some δ′〉0 and μ（n）=O（n^-ρ） for some ρ〉0.This paper achieves a general law of precise asymptotics for {Sn}.

A reaction-difusion model with nonlinearity driven difusion

In this paper, we deal with the model with a very general growth law and an M- driven diffusion For the general case of time dependent functions M and #, the existence and uniqueness for positive solution is obtained. If M and # are T0-periodic functions in t, then there is an attractive positive periodic solution. Furthermore, if M and # are time-independent, then the non-constant stationary solution M（x） is globally stable. Thus, we can easily formulate the conditions deriving the above behaviors for specific population models with the logistic growth law, Gilpin-Ayala growth law and Gompertz growth law, respectively. We answer an open problem proposed by L. Korobenko and E. Braverman in [Can. Appl. Math. Quart. 17（2009） 85-104].

The Moment Convergence Rates for Largest Eigenvalues of β Ensembles

The paper focuses on the largest eigenvalues of theβ-Hermite ensemble and theβ-Laguerre ensemble. In particular, we obtain the precise moment convergence rates of their largest eigenvalues. The results are motivated by the complete convergence for partial sums of i.i.d, random variables, and the proofs depend on the small deviations for largest eigenvalues of the β ensembles and tail inequalities of the generalβ Tracy-Widom law.
