This research reveals a distinguished property of this quantum generalized measurement: no matter what the system state is prior to the measurement and what the result of the measurement occurs, the state of the system after the measurement can be collapsed into any specified pure state, i.e., the state of quantum system can be deterministically reduced to any specified pure state just by a single QGPM. Subsequently. QGPM can be used to deterministically generate the maximum entangled pure state for quantum systems. We give three concrete theoretic schemes of generating the maximum quantum entangled pure states for two 2-Jevel particles, three 2-level particles and two 3-Jevel particles, respectively.展开更多

As two special cases, two schemes of controlled teleportation of an unknown single-qutrit state and an unknown two-qutrit state are investigated in detail. In the first scheme, a maximally entangled three-qutrit state is used as the quantum channel, while in the second scheme, an entangled two-qutrit state and an entangled three-qutrit state are employed as the quantum channels. In these schemes, an unknown qutrit state can be teleported to either one of two receivers, but only one of them can reconstruct the qutrit state with the help of the other. Based on the case of qutrits, a scheme of controlled teleportation of an unknown qudit state is presented.展开更多

Generally speaking, the additional dimensions of the ancilla space increase as the number of the operators of the GQM n increases. This paper presents a scheme for deterministically implementing all possible n-operator CQMs on a single atomic qubit by using only one 2-dimensional ancillary atomic qubit repeatedly, which remarkably reduces the complexity of the realistic physical system. Here the qubit is encoded in the internal states of an atom trapped in an optical cavity and single-photon pulses are employed to provide the interaction between qubits. It shows that the scheme can be performed remotely, and thus it is suitable for implementing CQM in a quantum network. What is more, the number of the total ancilla dimensions in our scheme achieves the theoretic low bound.展开更多

Comm. 259 385]. The key point of the protocol is a generalized measurement described by a positive operator- valued measure, which can be realized by performing a unitary operation in the extended space and a conventional Von Neumann orthogonal measurement. By decomposing the evolution process from the initial state to the final state, we construct the quantum circuits for realizing the unitary operation with quantum Toffoli gates, and thus provide a physical means to realize the teleportation. Our method for constructing quantum circuits differs from the usual methods based on decomposition of unitary matrices, and is convenient for a large class of quantum processes involving generalized measurements.展开更多

The feature of the present protocol is that we utilize an asymmetric threeparticle entangled state as the quantum channel. The optimal discrimination between two nonorthogonal quantum states is adopted. Zeger has been widely used to analyze longitudinal data. Recently, this method has been criticized for a failure to protect against misspecification of working correlation models, which in some cases leads to loss of efficiency or infeasibility of solutions. In this paper, we present a new method named as 'weighted estimating equations (WEE)' for estimating the correlation parameters. The new estimates of correlation parameters are obtained as the solutions of these weighted estimating equations. For some commonly assumed correlation structures, we show that there exists a unique feasible solution to these weighted estimating equations regardless the correlation structure is correctly specified or not. The new feasible estimates of correlation parameters are consistent when the working correlation structure is correctly specified. Simulation results suggest that the new method works well in finite samples.展开更多

Our definition has virtues of computability and independence of local measurement. In addition it also does not suffer from the recently raised critiques about quantum discord. The exact result can be obtained for bipartite pure states with arbitrary levels, which is completely determined by the Schmidt decomposition. For bipartite mixed states the exact result can also be found for a special case. Furthermore the generalization into multipartite case is direct. It is shown that it can be evaluated exactly when the measured state is invariant under permutation or translation. In addition the detection of quantum phase transition is also discussed for Lipkin–Meshkov–Glick and Dicke model.展开更多
