The method, based on nuclear aualysis and accumulation sampling, has matured and become useful method of geogas prospecting, through authors' studies more than 10 years. The study of the mechanism for geogas prospecting has also been progressed. It bas been revealed that the geogas matter is in the form of nano-scale particles of the ores by the observation of scanning electron microscope (SEM). This paper summarizes the feature of the geogas anomaly, and describes its forming mechanism. A new example using geogas prospecting is given.展开更多

A geogas collector is buried at shallow depth to collect volatile compounds for a period of 60-90 days. The adsorbed compounds are analyzed by INAA. This paper presents the multi-elemental anomaly of a gold deposit, Southwest China. The element contents and the multielemental anomaly of geogas were compared with those in the near- surface soil around the collector, background of the collector, and in gold ores. The geogas anomaly on gold deposit is demonstrated as a direct indicator of subsurface deposits.展开更多

The result demonstrates that the geogas matter is transported in the form of nano-scale particles with a size of aboutN nm to N-10 nm, and accumulated into aggregations of 1-2 μm to N.10 μm, with globular and film shape, and the component of Cu, Zn, Cr, Au, Al, V, Si, Br, C1, S, Ca, etc. Based on the knowledge of nano science and technique, the mechanism of the geogas prospecting and its significance in geology and mineral prospecting are discussed.展开更多
