The Submerged Floating Tunnel(SFT)relies on a tensioned mooring system for precise positioning.The sudden breakage of a single cable can trigger an immediate alteration in the constraint conditions of the tube,inducing a transient heave response within the structure along with a transient increase in cable tension experienced by adjacent cables.In more severe cases,this may even lead to a progressive failure culminating in the global destruction of the SFT.This study used ANSYS/AQWA to establish a numerical model of the entire length SFT for the hydrodynamic response analysis,and conducted a coupled calculation of the dynamic responses of the SFT-mooring line model based on Orca Flex to study the global dynamic responses of the SFT at the moment of cable breakage and the redistribution of cable internal forces.The most unfavorable position for SFT cable breakage was identified,the influence mechanism of cable breakage at different positions on the global dynamic response was revealed,and the progressive chain failure pattern caused by localized cable breakage are also clarified. 展开更多

This study investigates the mechanical properties of Q235B steel through quasi-static tests at both room temperature and elevated temperature.The initial values of the Johnson-Cook model parameters are determined using a fitting method.The global response surface algorithm is employed to optimize and calibrate the Johnson-Cook model parameters for Q235B steel under both room temperature and elevated temperature conditions.A simulation model is established at room temperature,and the simulated mechanical performance curves for displacement and stress are monitored.Multiple optimization algorithms are applied to optimize and calibrate the model parameters at room temperature.The global response surface algorithm is identified as the most suitable algorithm for this optimization problem.Sensitivity analysis is conducted to explore the impact of model parameters on the objective function.The analysis indicates that the optimized material model better fits the experimental values,aligning more closely with the actual test results of material strain mechanisms over a wide temperature range. 展开更多

To reveal climatic variation over North China, the climatic jumps in summer in Beijing are analyzed using the data of precipitation of summer (June, July, August) during the period of 1841-1993, in which those missed before 1950 were reconstructed by the stepwise regression method with minimum forecast error. The climatic jumps at different scales are analyzed using different diagnostic methods with different decade (10-100 years) windows. Some new methods and ideas are proposed. The variance difference, the linear tendency difference, and the difference of power spectral distribution between the samples before and after the period at the moving point in the center of the series are compared with other methods (for example, Mann—Kendall test, t— test, and accumulative anomaly etc.). Considering the differences among the statistics above, a synthetic jump index is also proposed in order to get the definite jump points in the moving series. The results show that the climatic jumps in the area occurred in the 1890s, the 1910s and the 1920s, and mostly in the 1920s, which suggests that the local climatic jumps in North China have a simultaneous response to the global warming in the hundred-year scales. Starting from the supposition of time-space substitution, the Langbein-Schumm's Law was applied to deal with response of fluvial erosion System to the changes in mean annual Precipitation induced by global green-house warming. As a result, a simple method was put forward to predict change in sediment yield, with Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the northern fringe of the Loess Plateau of China as an example. Results show that, even the change in mean annual precipitation is the same, the direction and magnitude of the resultant chang in sediment yteld would be quite different in fferent physico-geographical zones. When mean annual precipitation is increased, sediment yield in arid or semi-arid areas with a mean anntal Peripitation of less than 400 mm will be increased, while sediment yield in sub-humid or humid areas with a mean annual precipitation of more than 400 mm will be decreased.Additionally, the complex response of fluvial erosion system in time series due to the lag of change in vegetation behind the changn in precipitation has also been qualitatively discussed in this paper. 展开更多

By the HB-AFT method, a rigid rotor supported by ball bearings with nonlinearity of Hertz contact and ball passage vibrations is considered. With the aid of the Floquet theory, the movement characteristics of interval stability are deeply studied. To solve the dimensional limitations of physical models in tests, an equivalent water depth truncated design for a classical SPAR working in 913 m water was investigated. The water depth was reduced to 736m and then to 552m. As this was done, the mooting line lengths, EA value, and mass per meter were adjusted. Truncation rules and formulas for parameters and truncation factors were proposed. SPAR static characteristics were made to be consistent with those at full water depth. Then further time-domain coupled analysis was carried out for the SPAR when the mooting system experienced waves. The mooring lines were simulated by quasi-static method. Global responses and mooring line forces were found to agree well with test results for a prototype at that water depth. The truncation method proved to be robust and reliable. 展开更多

Modern corporate situations, characterized by the globalisation of the markets and of the information, highlight the need to link the potential of a not transient growth to the adequate reconciliation of all the expectations converging around the entrepreneurial formula and not only of those attributable to shareholders. In such a defined context, corporate governance tends to evolve from a situation of primary care for the expectations of shareholders (shareholder's view) and for the correlated financial responsibility, to a wide consideration of all the stakeholders (stakeholder's view) and related responsibilities (financial, environmental, social, administrative). The correct carrying out of governance processes requires, therefore, a clear focus on sustainable development and on the related assumption of a concept of global responsibility. The decisions made by the governing bodies must be driven by the purpose to create value in the long term according to conditions of fairness and sustainable development. To sum up, this research aims to deepen the existing connections between corporate governance, sustainable development and value creation on the basis of the empirical analysis of a limited number of listed Italian companies afferent to the public utilities sector. The paper, based on a deductive approach, is composed of two distinct but strictly connected parts: the first theoretical and the second empirical. The empirical research consists of a content analysis of the most recent documents (sustainability reports and annual reports) worked out by the selected companies. The results obtained about the degree respect of sustainable development conditions by each company are linked to the related value dimension (social, economic, competitive and environmental performance) aimed at verifying if the assumption of a corporate governance approach inspired by sustainability is susceptible of favouring the company development in a medium long term. From the delivered research it emerges how public utilities that promote behaviours in line with the sustainability conditions are marked out by stable growth paths. Conversely, the companies that assume a vision mainly addressed to the economic dimension, neglecting the other areas are generally compromised in the performance realized. 展开更多

This paper makes an approach to the approximate optimum in structural design,which combines the global response surface(GRS) based multivariate adaptive regression splines(MARS) with Move-Limit strategy(MLS).MARS is an adaptive regression process,which fits in with the multidimensional problems.It adopts a modified recursive partitioning strategy to simplify high-dimensional problems into smaller highly accurate models.MLS for moving and resizing the search sub-regions is employed in the space of design variables.The quality of the approximation functions and the convergence history of the optimization process are reflected in MLS.The disadvantages of the conventional response surface method(RSM) have been avoided,specifically,highly nonlinear high-dimensional problems.The GRS/MARS with MLS is applied to a high-dimensional test function and an engineering problem to demonstrate its feasibility and convergence,and compared with quadratic response surface(QRS) models in terms of computational efficiency and accuracy. 展开更多

Its construction requires prolonged effort and a comprehensive grasp of modernity, the laws of social development and the overall logic of social development, as well as an all-around readjustment of concepts, institutions and behaviors. Within the concrete and historical unity of rights and responsibilities, "the unity of limited global rights and limited global responsibilities" is an important principle for constructing global development equity. Declarations that China is practicing neo-colonialism are in fact inherently associated with Eurocentrism. Damage in the structures alters the structural dynamic behavior. Damage generally occurs locally in the components of structures, and its effect often exhibits in the changes of both local and global characteristics of structures. Better understanding of this relationship helps to monitor and assess the condition of structures and develop dynamics-based structural health monitoring techniques. In this study, the relationship between the local damage and structural dynamic behavior is investigated. To validate the concept, an experiment of a three-dimensional (3-D) steel frame structure with different magnitudes of local damage is illustrated. The experimental results indicate that the change of global resonant response between the intact and damage structure is not obvious. The change of local resonant responses measured near the location of saw-cut crack damage is quite significant. The experimental study conducted indicates that the local resonant responses at the low order resonance can be used as an effective damage identification method to detect and quantify the local damage in the 3D frame structures. 展开更多
