Double glow plasma surface metallurgy technique was used to fabricate a Fe?Al?Cr?Nb alloyed layer onto the surface of the 45 steel. The microstructures and composition of th?eA Fl?eCr?Nb alloyed layer were analyzed by scanning electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results indicate thatthe 20 μm alloyed layer is homogeneous and compact. The alloyed elements exhibit a gradient distribution along the cross section. Microhardness and nanoindentation tests imply that the surface hardness of the alloyed layer reaches HV 580, which is almost 2.8 times that of the substrate. Compared with the substrate, the alloyed layer has a much smaller displacement and a larger elastic modulus. According to the friction and wear tests at room temperature, the? FeAl?Cr?Nb alloyed layer has lower friction coefficient and less wear mass, implying that the Fe?Al?Cr?Nb alloyed layer can effectively improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of the substrate. 展开更多

An artificial disturbance is introduced into the boundary layer over a flat plate to investigate the effect on the transition process in the Mach 6.5 wind tunnel at Peking University. A linear stability theory(LST) is utilized to predict the evolution of the eigenmodes, and the frequency of the artificial disturbance is chosen according to the LST results. The artificial disturbance is generated by glowing discharge on the surface of the plate close to the leading edge. The Rayleigh-scattering visualization and particle image velocimetry(PIV) measurements are performed. By comparing the experimental results with artificial disturbances with those under the natural condition(without artificial disturbances), the present paper shows that the second-mode instability waves are significantly stimulated by the artificial disturbances, and the boundary layer transition is effectively triggered. 展开更多

为了提高遥感图像超分辨率重建的质量,提出了一种基于流的遥感图像重建算法。首先,在Glow模型的基础上引入改进后的RRDB架构用于低分辨率图像特征提取,通过构建更多层和连接以提升训练的稳定性。然后,以一种纯数据驱动的流模型来训练分... 为了提高遥感图像超分辨率重建的质量,提出了一种基于流的遥感图像重建算法。首先,在Glow模型的基础上引入改进后的RRDB架构用于低分辨率图像特征提取,通过构建更多层和连接以提升训练的稳定性。然后,以一种纯数据驱动的流模型来训练分布的参数,通过最大化负的对数似然的方法进行优化,得到该算法的损失函数。实验证明该模型在网络训练过程中能够快速达到稳定收敛的状态,且具有很强的泛化能力。用重建出的图像质量对比SRCNN、SRGAN、ESRGAN,经过测试后发现,提出的算法远远优于SRCNN算法,与其他算法相比也有明显优势。重建出的图像不仅在指标上有所提升,例如与SRCNN相比,PSRN和SSIM分别提升了15%和40%,且人眼观察时有更高的清晰度,高频细节更为丰富。 展开更多

The deposition bath contained nickel sulfate, zinc chloride and hypophosp hate. The process parameters, such as temperature, pH and zinc salt concentratio n were presented and discussed. The microstructure of the coatings was studied b y XRD and SEM. The cathode glowing discharge characters of Ni-P-Zn depositions w ere studied with luminous Neon lamps. Electrodes deposited by electroless Ni-P a lloys were apt to sputter during luminous working hours. Electroless Ni-P-Zn dep ositions improved the discharge characters of the electrodes. With the concentra tion of zinc in the deposition rising to 4wt%, electrode sputter was largely res trained. The thickness of the deposition also influenced the discharge character s of the electrode. To avoid electrode sputter, the concentration of zinc has to rise with the thickness of the depositions. 展开更多

Three types of anodic films(unsealed,hot water sealed and agent sealed)were prepared to study the effects of anodic film structure on the adhesive bonding performance of AA5754 automotive sheets.The morphology of the anodic films was examined by using scanning electron microscope(SEM)and the composition was examined by glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy(GDOES).The adhesive bonding strength and the durability in corrosive environment were investigated by using single lap-hear test and salt spray test(SST),respectively.The results showed that the unsealed sample could provide high initial bonding strength,but the durability was poor in corrosive environment.The hot water sealed sample could provide high durability,but the bonding strength was low.In contrast,the agent sealed sample displayed porous structure at outer layer and partially plugged nano pores structure at inner layer,providing both excellent bonding strength and durability. 展开更多

Direct exposure of samples to the active species of air generated by a One Atmosphere Uniform Glow Discharge Plasma (OAUGDP) has been used to etch and to increase the surface energy of metallic surfaces, photoresist, polymer films, and nonwoven fab- rics. The OAUGDP is a non-thermal plasma with the classical characteristics of a DC normal glow discharge that operates in air (and other gases) at atmospheric pres- sure. Neither a vacuum system nor batch processing is necessary. A wide range of applications to metals, photoresist, films, fabrics, and polymeric webs can be accom- modated by direct exposure of the workpiece to the plasma in parallel-plate reactors. This technolopy is simple, it produces effects that can be obtained in no other way at one atmosphere; it generates minimal pollutants or unwanted by-products; and it is suitable for individual sample or online treatment of metallic surfaces, wafers, films, and fabrics. Early exposures of solid materials to the OAUGDP required minutes to produce rela- tively small increases of surface energy. These durations appeared too long for com- mercial application to fast-moving webs. Recent improvements in OAUGDP gas com- position, power density, plasma quality, recireulating gas flow, and impedance match- ing of the power supply to the parallel plate plasma reactor have made it possible to raise the surface energy of a variety of polymeric webs (PP, PET PE etc.) to levels of 60 to 70 dynes/cm with one second of exposure. In air plasmas, the high surface ener- gies are not durable, and fall to 50 dynes/cm after periods of weeks to months. Here, we report the exposure of metallic surfaces, photoresist, polymeric films, and nonwo- ven fabrics made of PP and PET to an impedance matched parallel plate OAUGDP for durations ranging from one second to several tens of seconds. Data will be re- ported on the surface energy, wettability, wickability, and aging effect of polymeric films and fabrics as functions of time of exposure, and time after exposure; the rate and uniformity of photoresist etching; and the production of sub-micron structures by OAUGDP etching at one atmosphere. 展开更多

It was found that not only the spatial distributions of the internal parameters such as the electric field, the electron density and ion density are similar to those in a low-pressure glow discharge, but also the visually apparent attribute (light emission) is exactly the same as the observable feature of a low-pressure glow discharge. This confirms that the uniform DBD in atmospheric helium is a glow type discharge. The fact that the thickness of the cathode fall layer is about 0.5 mm, much longer than that of a normal glow discharge in helium at atmospheric pressure, indicates the discharge being a sub-normal glow discharge close to normal one. The multipulse phenomenon was reproduced in the simulation and a much less complicated explanation for this phenomenon was given. 展开更多

However, the glow plasma can influence the structure of the coating at the single substrate edge. In this study, the iridium coating was prepared by double glow plasma on the surface of single niobium substrate. The microstructure of iridium coating at the substrate edge was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The composition of the coating was confirmed by energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. There was a boundary between the coating and the substrate edge. The covered area for the iridium coating at the substrate edge became fewer and fewer from the inner area to the outer flange-area. The bamboo sprout-like particles on the surface of the substrate edge were composed of elemental niobium. The substrate edge was composed of the Nb coating and there was a transition zone between the Ir coating and the Nb coating. The interesting phenomenon of the substrate edge could be attributed to the effects of the bias voltages and the plasma cloud in the deposition chamber. The substrate edge effect could be mitigated or eliminated by adding lots of small niobium plates around the substrate in a deposition process. 展开更多

The oxidative degradation of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) in aqueous solution induced by plasma with submersed glow discharge has been investigated. The concentration of 4-CP and the reaction intermediates were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Various influencing factors such as the initial pH, the concentration of 4-CP and the catalytic action of Fe^2+ were examined. The results indicate that 4-CP is eventually degraded into inorganic ion, dioxide carbon and water. The attack of hydroxyl radicals on the benzene rings of 4-CP in the initial stage of oxidative reactions is presumed to be a key step. They also suggest that the reaction is of a pseudo-first order kinetic reaction and the proposed method is an efficient way for the 4-CP degradation, 展开更多

An electrohydrodynamic (EHD) method, which is based on glow discharge plasma, is presented for flow control in an S-shaped duct. The research subject is an expanding channel with a constant width and a rectangular cross section. An equivalent divergence angle and basic function are introduced to build the three-dimensional model. Subsequently, the plasma physical models are simplified as the effects of electrical body force and work (done by the force) on the fluid near the wall. With the aid of FLUENT software, the source terms of momentum and energy are added to the Navier-Stokes equation. Finally, the original performance of three models (A, B and C) is studied, in which model A demonstrates better performance. Then EHD control based on model A is discussed. The results show that the EHD method is an effective way of reducing flow loss and improving uniformity at the duct exit. The innovation in this study is the assessment of the EHD control effect on the flow in an S-shaped duct. Both the parametric modeling of the S-shaped duct and the simplified models of plasma provide valuable information for future research on aircraft inlet ducts. 展开更多

A direct-current air plasma jet operated underwater presents three stable modes including an intermittently-pulsed discharge, a periodically-pulsed discharge and a continuous discharge with increasing the power voltage. The three discharge modes have different appearances for the plasma plumes. Moreover, gap voltage-current characteristics indicate that the continuous discharge is in a normal glow regime. Spectral lines from reactive species(OH, N2, N2^+, Hα,and O) have been revealed in the emission spectrum of the plasma jet operated underwater.Spectral intensities emitted from OH radical and oxygen atom increase with increasing the power voltage or the gas flow rate, indicating that reactive species are abundant. These reactive species cause the degradation of the methylene blue dye in solution. Effects of the experimental parameters such as the power voltage, the gas flow rate and the treatment time are investigated on the degradation efficiency. Results indicate that the degradation efficiency increases with increasing the power voltage, the gas flow rate or the treatment time. Compared with degradation in the intermittently-pulsed mode or the periodically-pulsed one, it is more efficient in the continuous mode, reaching 98% after 21 min treatment. 展开更多

Dimples with the diameter of 150μm and the depth of 30-35μm distributed circumferentially on the disc surface.The alloying element Cr was sputtered to the laser texturing steel surface by double glow plasma technique.A deep diffusion layer with a thickness of 30μm and a high hardness of HV900 was formed in this alloy.Tribological experiments of three types of samples(smooth,texturing and texturing+alloying) were conducted with a ring-on-disc tribometer to simulate the face seal.It is found that,in comparison with smooth steel surfaces,the laser texturing samples significantly reduce the friction coefficient.Moreover,the lower wear rate of the sample treated with the two surface techniques is observed. 展开更多

In this paper, the treatment of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film surface for improving hydrophilicity using the non-thermal plasma generated by atmospheric pressure glow discharge (APGD) in air is conducted. The discharge characteristics of APGD are shown by measurement of their electrical discharge parameters and observation of light-emission phenomena, and the surface properties of PET before and after the APGD treatment are studied using contact angle measurement, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It is found that the APGD is homogeneous and stable in the whole gas gap, which differs from the commonly filamentary dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). Special attentions were paid to the discharge characteristics and CH4, CO2 conversion, H2, CO selectivity, and ratio of H2/CO varied with the changing of discharging power, the total flux, and the ratio of CH4/CO2. Experiments were performed in wider operation variables, the discharging power of 240 to 600 W, the CH4/CO2 of 0.2 to 1.0 and the total flux of 140 to 500mL/min. The experiments showed that the conversion of CH4 and CO2 was up to 91.9% and 83.2%, the selectivity of CO and H2 was also up to 80% and 90% and H2/CO mole ratio was 0.2 to 1.2, respectively. An improved self-consistent, multi-component, and one-dimensional plasma model for simulating atmospheric pressure argon glow discharge is presented. In the model, both the plasma hydrodynamics model and chemical model are considered. The numerical simulation is carried out for parallel-plate geometry with a separation of 0.06 cm. The results show that Ar* plays a major role in the discharge, which is mainly produced by ground state excitation reaction. The electron temperature reaches its maximum in the cathode sheath but maintains a low value (0.23 eV) in bulk plasma. Elastic collision is the dominant volumetric electron energy loss in atmosphere argon glow discharge, which is negligible in low pressure argon glow discharge. The metastable step-wise ionization is the main mechanism for electron production to sustain the discharge. However, the highest contribution to electron production rate is ground state ionization reaction. The bremsstrahlung power density is related to electric voltage. With the increase of the electric voltage, the bremsstrahlung power density increases, namely, the strength of ultraviolet radiation spectrum enhances in the cathode sheath. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel set-up to be used in the degradation of dye, Various influencing factors, such as the voltage, the number of the anodes, and the catalytic action of Fe^2+, were examined. Chemical oxygen demand (COD), ultraviolet (UV), FTIR absorption spectra, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to monitor the degradation process. The results showed that the efficiency of degradation is raised by increasing the applied voltage, and is further improved when two or three anodes are used. Moreover, the use of Fe^2+ ion can promote the degradation reaction and shorten the degradation time. So the multi-electrode instrument is more efficient in degrading the dye and should be further studied. 展开更多
