Al alloy matrix composites reinforced with copper-coated graphite particle have been prepared by melt stirring process in this work.The effect of the addition of Mg on distribution of the graphite particles has been investigated.Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the micro-morphology of Al alloy matrix composites reinforced with graphite particles.Meanwhile,the content of graphite was analyzed in the different position of casting by dissolution method and the mechanical properties of the composites were detected.The results show that the content of graphite increase with increasing Mg content;the graphite particles distribute uniformly in the particle reinforced metal matrix composites (PMMC) with 0.6 wt pct Mg;however,the agglomeration of the graphite particles is observed obviously in the matrix when Mg content is more than 1.0 wt pct.In addition,the proper Mg addition amount is beneficial to enhance the mechanical properties of the graphite particles reinforced Al alloy matrix composites and the abrasion resistance of the materials due to a reduce friction coefficient. 展开更多

Al-7graphite composite was processed using Al-7graphite mushy prepared by electromagnetic-mechanical stirring method, and the influence of solid fraction on the distributing of graphite particles in ingot was studied. The results shows that the relationship between solid fraction and stirring temperature of mushy is: f(s) = 591.5-0.897 t (where f(s) is the solid fraction, t is the stirring temperature). For Al-7graphite composite, with the increasing of solid fraction, the aggregation extent of graphite particles reduced gradually, and when solid fraction was larger than 30%, graphite particles could distribute evenly in ingot. 展开更多

The electromagnetic-mechanical stirring technology was used to prepare QTi3.5-15/graghite slurry. The distribution of graphite particies in QTi3.5-15/graghite slurry was studied using cold quenching method. The results show that solid fraction of QTi3.5-15/graphite slurry increases with the decreasing of stirring temperature. There is a linear relationship between solid fraction and stirring temperature. With the increasing of solid fraction, the distribution of graphite particies in slurry becomes uniform gradually. When the solid fraction is larger than 45%, the rising of graphite particies in slurry can be restricted, and QTi3.5-15/graghite slurry with uniform distribution of graphite particies can be prepared. 展开更多

The electromagnetic-mechanical stirring technology was employed for preparing QTi4.3-4 graghite composite slurry,and QTi4.3-4 graghite composite with uniform distribution of graphite particles was prepared uring the semi-solid casting technology successfully.The structure of this QTi4.3-4graphite composite was studied and the condition for uniform distribution of graphite particles was got.The experimental results show that there exists a linear relationship between the solid fraction and the stirring temperature of QTi4.3-4graphite slurry.With the decreasing of stirring temperature,the solid fraction of QTi4.3-4 graghite slurry increases constantly.In casting,with the increasing of solid fraction of QTi4.3-4 graphite slurry.the agglomeration of graphite particles is removed gradually.When the solid fraction is higher than 40%,graphite particles can distribute evenly in QTi4.3-4 graghite composite. 展开更多

In order to balance the conductivity and flexural strength of graphite composite bipolar plates,the influence of conductive filler on the properties of graphite composite bipolar plate was comprehensively studied by using phenolic resin as binder,natural flake graphite as conductive substrate and functional carbon materials with different structures as auxiliary filler.The results show that the particle size of conductive substrate has an important influence on the conductivity enhancement of auxiliary filler.The influence of conductive particle size on auxiliary filler electrical conductivity improvement was first investigated in this research.The effects of various auxiliary filler concentrations on improving electrical conductivity and flexural strength were then examined.This research has substantial implications for the balance of electrical conductivity and flexural strength of graphite composite bipolar plates. 展开更多
