This paper p...Landscape design for a green community should be favorable for the ambient ecological environment and for enhancement of both the local climate of a residential area and the environmental quality of life. This paper presents optimization methods for plant landscape design that take account of results of comparisons of noise reduction effects, heat island temperature decreases and effects on ventilation. These methods are based on different plant configurations and various luminous environments, such as exterior sunshine and shaded areas after the simulation of exterior luminous, acoustic and thermal environments of a residential area using the analytic software ECOTECT, CADNA/A, and PHEONICS. Three different types of residential buildings are simulated including a faculty apartment in the Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University, the Huaqing Villa and the Gangwan Jiayuan faculty apartment of Zhejiang University, China, based on green building design theory. In addition, the methods and process flow of landscape design of green residential areas are also described for the improvement of the exterior physical living environment.展开更多

Today, there is an increasing need for sustainable building design. Besides, BIM (building information modeling) is one of the most noteworthy developments in construction industry. BIM is used to make the planning, design, construction, and operation process more integrated. The purpose of this paper is to survey application of BIM in sustainable building design. This exploration is done by reviewing the existing studies in the field of BIM and sustainable design. There have been few attempts to evaluate and analyze the benefits of BIM in sustainable design, and existing researches have not developed integrated analysis to evaluate different aspects of BIM application. In this study, BIM and sustainable design researches are categorized into some major areas. First, frameworks and design strategies for better implementation of sustainable design have been developed. Other application of BIM software is for improving sustainable design in which some case studies have been presented for this purpose. Another major area is focusing on a specific aspect of sustainable buildings such as using natural resources, energy simulation, daylighting analysis and carbon emissions. To promote green buildings is the way access to the sustainable development. Currently, China has issued some regulations and systems to boost the green building. However, problems lie in China and the systems are not effective. USA and EU have rich experiences and fairly sophisticated legislation and policies to develop green building. China may get some lessens from these countries. This paper will make an overview of legal framework and main system of green building in China, then, analyses some important legal systems and typical case related green building in the USA and EU. Further, problems were pointed out in the China based on the comparative analysis of these countries. Lastly, according to the condition in China and lessons from USA and EU, this paper will put some suggests to promote green building, such as, take some measures to enhance the awareness of the stakeholders, create multi- incentive tools and so on.展开更多
