Green manuring facilitates bacterial community dispersal across different compartments of subsequent tobacco

Green manure–crop rotation is a sustainable approach to protect crops against diseases and improve yield.However,the mechanism by which green manuring manipulates the crop-associated microbial community remains to be elucidated.In this study,we explored the horizontal processes of bacterial communities in different compartments of the soil–root interface(bulk soil,rhizosphere soil,rhizoplane and endosphere)of tobacco by performing a field experiment including four rotation practices,namely,tobacco rotated with smooth vetch,ryegrass,radish,and winter fallow(without green manure).Results showed that the co-occurrence networks constructed by adjacent compartments of the soil–root interface with green manuring had more edges than without green manuring,indicating dramatic microbial interactions.Green manuring increased the dispersal-niche continuum index between bulk soil and other compartments,indicating that it facilitated the horizontal dispersal of microbes.For the different green manuring practices,the neutral community model explained 24.6–27.6%of detection frequency for bacteria,and at least one compartment under each practice had a normalized stochasticity ratio higher than the 50%boundary point,suggesting that the deterministic and stochastic processes jointly shaped the tobacco microbiome.In conclusion,green manuring generally facilitates bacterial community dispersal across different compartments and enhances potential interactions among adjacent compartments.This study provides empirical evidence for understanding the microbiome assembly under green manure–crop rotation.

Community structure and controlled factor of attached green algae on the Porphyra yezoensis aquaculture rafts in the Subei Shoal, China

This study analyzes the community structure, the quantity changes of the algae and the effect of important environmental factors and estimates the total biomass of the attached green algae in the survey areas. The study uses data from surveys of the attached green algae on the Porphyra yezoensis aquaculture rafts and data regarding the environmental factors from October 2010 to April 2011 in the Subei Shoal. The attached green algae on the rafts included Ulva prolifera, Capsosiphon groenlandicus, U. linza, U. intestinalis, U. clathrata, and U. cornpressa. The biomass changes of the attached green algae exhibited an inverted parabola： the biomass was the highest （14 898 t） in April, and was the second highest （2 034 t） in November; it was lowest in February （only 729 t） and increased sharply from March to April. The species diversity differed significantly among the seasons. In September and October, when the P. yezoensis aquaculture rafts were initially set up, the attached green algae had a high biodiversity, while from December to the next February, a variety of green algae species coexisted on the rafts, although the biomass was low, and from March to April, as the biomass increased sharply, the species diversity dropped to the minimum. During this time, C. groenlandicus was apparently dominant with the maximum biomass proportion up to 80%, while the U. prolifera proportion increased exponentially to 20% to 40%. The water temperature had a direct regulating effect on the biomass and the species succession of the attached green algae. The estimation of the community dynamics and the biomass of the green algae provided the evidence needed to track the origin of the large-scale green tide in the southern Yellow Sea.

Long-term rice-rice-green manure rotation changing the microbial communities in typical red paddy soil in South China

On the basis of a long-term（30 years） field experiment that involved four rotation systems, rice-rice-winter fallow（RRF）, rice-rice-ryegrass（RRG）, rice-rice-rape（RRP）, and rice-rice-milk vetch（RRV）, this study described the effects of green manure on the microbial communities in the red paddy soils using 454 pyrosequencing for the 16 S r RNA gene. The Chao1 richness and non-parametric Shannon＇s index increased in all soil samples that received green manure treatments. The communities＇ structures with the green manure applications were significantly dissimilar from that under the winter fallow. Using Metastats tests, many genera in the RRG, RRP and RRV soils were significantly different from those in the RRF soil, including a number of genera that functioned in the nitrogen and sulfur cycles. Analyses of the genera with these functions revealed the shifts in microbial ecosystem functions after long-term green manuring. Changes in the microbial communities increased the ammonium supply and decreased the soil acidification in green-manure-amended soils. Together, these data suggested powerful effects of green manure on both the microbial communities and the biogeochemical cycle driven by the shifts in bacterial functional groups.

Green Distributed Antenna Systems for Smart Communities: A Comprehensive Survey

Smart communities are an emerging communication means in which humans and smart devices will interact with each other and deliver ubiquitous services by exploiting social intelligence.Distributed antenna system(DAS),one of the key technologies to realize smart decisions in smart communities,can settle network smart coverage problem and improve system energy/spectrum efficiency significantly.Considering that energy consumption is an important element for community communications,in this paper,we survey the existing green DAS research for smart communities.In particular,our investigation covers antenna distribution,system capacity,spectrum efficiency,energy efficiency,and green access issues.Moreover,we analyze the existing application opportunities and challenges.This survey contributes to better understanding of the challenges and approaches for green DAS in existing smart community networks and further shed novel light on some future research directions.

Interpretation of Low-carbon City Planning and Design——A Case Study of Gaochun Zijin Science and Technology Special Community

It is an important and unique approach of achieving sustainable urban development to save and use energy intensively, reduce carbon emission, and take the low-carbon development road. Taking Gaochun Zijin Science and Technology Special Community for example, this paper introduced planning measures for building a low-carbon city, including building a green network, compound utilization of urban spaces, establishing green transportation, using renewable resources, development of green architecture, so as to provide references for the future researches on the low-carbon urban development.

Construction of Green Community Index System under the Background of Community Construction

Under the background of community construction, green community has become a concentrated embodiment of human pursuit of high-quality life. Green community plays an important role in saving energy, improving living environment and promoting sustainable development. By establishing the evaluation index system of green community, this paper attempts to make a more comprehensive evaluation from the aspects of resources, environment and management mode of green community, to effectively evaluate the development level of green community, to provide reference for government departments to manage and develop the development of decision-making green community, to provide guidance for planning and designing green community environment, and to provide direction for the construction of green sustainable development. At the same time, it is beneficial to the promotion and development of green environmental protection technology.

Actual Measurement of the Microclimate Environment of Green Spaces and Dynamic Simulation of Building Height in Xijing Community of Beijing

In this paper, three types of green spaces in Xijing Community in Shijingshan District of Beijing were selected for as the measuring points, the HOBO portable weather station was used to monitor the microclimate environmental changes in the same period and summarize the data of microclimate factors. The effectiveness of the simulation was verified by comparing the measured data with the simulated data obtained through ENVI-met. And strategies for microclimate adaptive design in residential areas were proposed according to the microclimate environmental characteristics of several green spaces.

Construction of Eco-livable Communities in the New Urbanization:A Case Study of Zhangzhou Green Lake Eco-park

Taking the construction of Green Lake Eco-park for example, this paper introduced the achievements and experience of this project in rural land expropriation, ecological conservation, humanistic development, and commercial development via field investigation, literature consultation and resident interview, and also problems in the current construction. Then suggestions were put forward to provide references for the further improvement of the Green Lake Eco-park.

Green and Low-carbon Development Strategy for Large Energy Enterprises

Can the low-carbon city pilot policy promote the upgrading of high-carbon emitting enterprises? Evidence from China

As a crucial environmental reform system to realize“carbon peaking”and“carbon neutrality”,the pilot policy of low-carbon cities(LCCs)puts pressure and challenges on high-carbon emitting enterprises(HCEEs)while providing opportunities for these firms to take the path of independent transformation.Employing the data of Chinese listed enterprises from 2006 to 2016 and adopting a difference-in-differences(DID)model,we evaluated the impact of LCC construction on the upgrading of HCEEs and its mechanisms.The results indicate that LCC construction enhances the upgrading of HCEEs in the pilot cities.The conclusions remain stable after a series of robustness tests.The mechanism analysis reveals that LCC construction triggers the upgrading of HCEEs by promoting resource allocation efficiency,R&D investment,and green technology innovation.The heterogeneity results indicate that this positive effect is more pronounced for HCEEs in regions with more stringent environmental law enforcement.This study also observes that the upgrading impact is more promi‐nent for state-owned enterprises,enterprises with higher bargaining power,and enterprises whose managers have a long-term vision.The above results provide directions for upgrading HCEEs and replicable evidence for cities in developing economies to fulfill the win-win target of environmental protection and economic transfor‐mation.

Suggestions on Strengthening Greening Construction of Ecological Residential Areas

Greening construction is an important part of the construction of ecological residential areas,but there exist some misunderstandings in greening construction of ecological residential districts at present.Based on the description of functions of green space in ecological residential areas,the summarization of principles of greening design,and the discussion of questions in greening construction of ecological residential districts,some suggestions as well as specific measures for strengthening greening construction of ecological residential areas were proposed to promote the healthy development of greening construction in ecological residential areas.

Research on the model of regional green innovation system in China:A case study of Shandong province

Taking Shandong province,one of China’s first batch of circular economy pilot provinces,as an example,this paper summarizes some types of regional green innovation system models through the cases study and retrospective reasoning and retrospective approaches.The models mentioned above include(1)the innovation system model of green animal husbandry in coastal small towns,(2)the green innovation system model in intravenous industry park,(3)the green innovation system model in coastal hi-tech industrial development zone based on the development of eco-industrial and low-carbon industries,(4)the green innovation system model in coastal economic&technological development area based on the development of ecological arterial industry and the ecological intravenous industry through the waste recycle inside and outside the area,(5)the green innovation system model of coastal harbor economic and technological development area based on constructing tiny-medium-macro circulation,(6)the green innovation system of reformed coastal economic and technological development zone turning to the recycling marine industry innovation,and(7)the green innovation system model of high-tech industry development zone tending to recycling innovation of biological industry.This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of these models,the formation mechanism,and further to discuss their implications for greening the same type of regional innovation systems.
