This paper discusses the strategies of green supply chain based on the concept of circular economy which was promoted in China as a new development strategy to alleviate the shortage of resource supply by improving the resource productivity and eco-efficiency of production and consumption,which will accelerate the economic transformation from the traditional supply chain to the green supply chain.展开更多
The sustainable development integrity,national development goals,and legislative status quo have determined that the"Green and Low-Carbon Development Part"must be designed and incorporated into the China'...The sustainable development integrity,national development goals,and legislative status quo have determined that the"Green and Low-Carbon Development Part"must be designed and incorporated into the China's Environmental Code(Code).The theoretical evolution in the action field,system composition,value function,and operation mechanism of the Environmental Law,as well as the practice development of the Environmental Protection Law legislation,enforcement,and judicial practices have laid a solid theoretical and practical foundation for the incorporation of green and lowcarbon development into the Code.The institutional layout of green and low-carbon development should respect and highlight its own traits.Furthermore,it is important to stress communication and coordination with other parts of the Code,follow the laws of energy development and utilization,and satisfy the inherent requirements of raw material reduction,reuse,and recycle.The layout method should abide by the general principle of"general first,specific second;domestic first,international second;defined first,undefined second"with"decomposition goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality"as an exception.The layout effect of the"flexibility first,rigidity second"is pursued.The chapters of General Provisions,Cleaner Production Green Circulation,Green Consumption,Support and Supervision,and International Cooperation,and Climate Change Response,are specifically designed.Efforts are made to improve new systems,such as strategies and standards for green and low-carbon development,green logistics,energy performance contracting,green finance,carbon emissions trading,and energy early warning.展开更多
The ongoing stability of supply chains faces significant challenges from trade protectionism,anti-globalization trends,and the COVID-19 pandemic.To remain resilient in this dynamic market environment,supply chains mus...The ongoing stability of supply chains faces significant challenges from trade protectionism,anti-globalization trends,and the COVID-19 pandemic.To remain resilient in this dynamic market environment,supply chains must evolve through iterative upgrades and transition to a higher level of sustainability,a process termed“step development.”The current literature,however,offers limited insights into achieving such step development in supply chain sustainability and its critical supporting elements.This study,grounded in theory,involved interviews with representatives from eight diverse Chinese enterprises.We introduce a model delineating supporting factors and a roadmap for Sustainable Step Development of Supply Chains(SSDSC).Our findings highlight three pivotal categories of support for SSDSC:institutional,technological,and social factors.Additionally,we observed that external influences in these categories positively modulate their internal counterparts.The study identifies industrial technology,digital intelligence technology,corporate responsibility,and stakeholder needs as key elements in this process.We conclude by offering theoretical and practical recommendations to foster SSDSC.展开更多
Realizing sustainable development has become a global priority.This holds,in particular,for agriculture.Recently,the United Nations launched the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),and the Nineteenth National People’...Realizing sustainable development has become a global priority.This holds,in particular,for agriculture.Recently,the United Nations launched the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),and the Nineteenth National People’s Congress has delivered a national strategy for sustainable development in China—realizing green development.The overall objective of Agriculture Green Development(AGD)is to coordinate"green"with"development"to realize the transformation of current agriculture with high resource consumption and high environmental costs into a green agriculture and countryside with high productivity,high resource use efficiency and low environmental impact.This is a formidable task,requiring joint efforts of government,farmers,industry,educators and researchers.The innovative concept for AGD will focus on reconstructing the whole crop-animal production and food production-consumption system,with the emphasis on high thresholds for environmental standards and food quality as well as enhanced human well-being.This paper addresses the significance,challenges,framework,pathways and potential solutions for realizing AGD in China,and highlights the potential changes that will lead to a more sustainable agriculture in the future.Proposals include interdisciplinary innovations,whole food chain improvement and regional solutions.The implementation of AGD in China will provide important implications for the countries in developmental transition,and contribute to global sustainable development.展开更多

The models discussed in this paper include BedZED in the United Kingdom and Masdar City in the Middle East. These two communities contain features characterized by the sustainable principles of the ecovillage concept by using non-traditional building materials. The creations of more ecovillages, along with the growth of current ecovillages, play an important role in positively solvening environmental and social problems.
