Study on the Construction of "Near Nature" Waterfront Greening Landscape

The construction of 'Near Nature' waterfront greening landscape is a kind of waterfront construction model that complies with the nature and balances ecological landscape and regional development, which is of great significance to restore the healthy waterfront ecosystem and sustainable development. Starting from the conception and characteristics of 'Near Nature' waterfront greening areas, the design principles and construction schemes of waterfront greening landscape such as river, lake, canal and wetland were studied.

Influence of Urban Street Greening Design under the Concept of Green Healthy Cities:A Case Study of Hefei City

In order to explore the influence of urban street greening,the street landscape of Changjiang West Road and Xiyou Road in Hefei City was selected as the research sample to study the design of urban street landscape under the concept of green healthy cities.The results show that the urban street landscape of Hefei City is single in design and plant type,and plant maintenance management is not good.It is proposed to strengthen the maintenance and management of street greening,increase the types of native plants,and improve cultural connotation,so as to enhance the artistry,regionalism and functionality of urban street landscape in Hefei City.

Conception and Planning of Campus Landscape Combined with Nature Education Based on Species Survey:A Case Study of North China University of Technology

From the perspective of habitats and species diversity in biodiversity,the species and richness of plants and animals in the campus green spaces of North China University of Technology were surveyed comprehensively by natural observation and field investigation.A total of 118 species of plants and 70species of animals were investigated.The relationship between plants and animals on the campus was analyzed qualitatively.Based on this,the richness of species in the plots suitable for natural education in the sites was investigated and analyzed,and the situations in different seasons were compared to plan natural education areas and trails.In addition,the ways to increase the biodiversity of the sites,the connection between habitats and landscape elements,and the setting of relevant landscape sites were discussed,and it was proposed to integrate more natural education methods to attract people to carry out natural education of biodiversity in the university campus with a learning atmosphere.

Low-cost Plant Landscape Design of Small-scale Residential Area——A Case Study of Huayu Residential Area on Baoping Road in Baoji City of Shaanxi Province

Modern landscape emphasizes the resource conservation and sustainable development.Simple and fine residential green areas should be the development trend.Taking the landscape design of Huayu residential area on Baoping Road in Baoji City of Shaanxi Province as an example,the way how to create a fine view and a good ecological environment for the people living in the bustling city with less investment and simple maintenance was analyzed.

Analysis of Courtyard Plant Landscape Design

Plant landscaping in courtyard design was studied from four perspectives of building, water, road, garden setting and plant landscaping. Landscape designs in Guangzhou Baiyun Hotel, the Humble Administrator's Garden (Suzhou), and bamboo pathway of Small Yingzhou in the West Lake (Hangzhou) to improve scientific and artistic properties of plant landscaping, and develop economic, social and ecological effects of garden green spaces to the most.

Ecological Landscape Road Design

With the Traveling Road in Ma＇anshan as an example, natural and human-made plants are both used to create a four-dimensional space considering plant layers and colors. Besides, the relationships between landscape and eco-environment, input and output, and construction and maintenance should be well coordinated in order to make sure sustainable development of road afforestation. On the other hand, landscaping of the Road as a whole should be guaranteed by coordinating functional regions along roads to make sure benign evolvement of urban greening system. Finally, the principle of people first ensures road landscaping to better serve the city socially, culturally and economically. The central greenbelt combines rule and nature and match shrub and arbor to shape a linear landscape sequence in order to maximize road functions and ecological benefits and build ecological landscape-oriented roads.

Special Space and Plant Landscape Design of Urban Ecological Buildings

This paper mainly discusses the application of plant landscape design in special space of ecological buildings. From the concept of special space of ecological buildings,it elaborates social benefits and ecological benefits of greening projects in special space. It introduces the classification method for special space of ecological building with habitat as the major part combining characteristics of building form. On the basis of such classification,it discusses green design method and plant selection principle,to provide certain reference for garden designers in green design of ecological buildings.

Preliminary Exploration on Design of Green Landscape of Urban Streets: A Case Study of Guangchang East Road in Xihu District of Nanchang City

Urban streets are the main public places for outdoor activities in urban areas. Urban street landscape is the core content of urban landscape,and urban street greening is an essential part of urban landscape streets. With the rapid development of cities,humans have higher and higher requirements for surrounding environment. To this end,this paper makes a preliminary exploration on the green landscape of urban streets. Based on the analysis of the basic concepts and components of green landscape of urban streets,this paper puts forward the role of green landscape of urban streets: practical function,landscape creation function and environment optimization function. Taking the Guangchang East Road in Xihu District of Nanchang City as an example,through field survey,observation and data collection,it found that the main problems of Guangchang East Road,and came up with the recommendations that the design of the greening landscape of Guangchang East Road in the planting and color block matching. It is expected to provide references for the planning and design of urban street greening landscape in the future.

Application of Fengshui Doctrines in Landscape Architecture Design

Proceeding from the concept of Fengshui, the author focused on the influence of Fengshui on construction activities in ancient China, and proposed that Fengshui has impacted not only site selection and layout of ancient cities, towns, villages, palaces and residences, but also site selection and layout of classical Chinese gardens. On this basis, application of Fengshui in modern landscape architecture design was explored, and the harmony between garden planning and environment factors was stressed, and also psychological factors of human beings emphasized. In this way, the doctrine of "human-nature oneness" was demonstrated, spirit of place and actual conditions of the planning site respected, and propitious culture manifested.

Designing with nature:Advancing threedimensional green spaces in architecture through frameworks for biophilic design and sustainability

In the transition to a more sustainable built environment over the last two decades,the“greening”of architecture as a popular approach has received widespread attention.However,there are still many open questions and contradictions regarding how to design with“nature”and contribute to sustainability.In addition,explorations of built examples are rare,and three-dimensional(3D)green spaces in buildings are often overlooked.Therefore,we introduce“green pockets”(3D green spaces)as a typology distinct from two-dimensional green roofs and walls/facades.We draw on a mixed-method approach to study two cases(Erasmus MC and Hotel Jakarta),comprising 12 semi-structured interviews with different stakeholders,design document analysis,and site observation.We develop a critical reflection(a framework)on the impacts of“green architecture”on sustainability from unpacked benefits and adopt a biophilic design framework to analyse designing with“nature”in architectural practice.These findings demonstrate that green pockets contribute to integrating multiple experiences of“nature”into buildings and developing sustainable architecture.Designing green pockets with visibility,accessibility,and spatial characteristics(e.g.,prospect and refuge,organised complexity,peril,and mystery)of“nature”improves building quality.Furthermore,we provide design recommendations to advance green pocket designs and make suggestions for future research.

Landscape Design outside National Maritime Museum

With the development of urban construction and improvement of living standard, modern people have had higher requirements on culture. National Maritime Museum collects and displays maritime culture and civilization of China, it is a signifi cant cultural facility in New Binhai District of Tianjin. The museum shows us the splendid picture of yel ow terrestrial civilization and blue maritime civilization over the past 2,000 years in China. Landscape design outside the exhibition hall of the museum has the integration of culture and museum as the starting point, and makes brand-new explorations in landscape humanistic care and landscape designs of green buildings.

Landscape Environment Design on the Front Area of Campus Square:A Case Study of Northwest A & F University

How to design a graceful campus with its culture and landscape respect is always a hot research topic of contemporary campus environment construction because the campus is very essential to promote the harmonious development of people’s physical and mental health. For the design of campus, the most important issue is to make the green landscape become the carrier of cultural heritage. The center square of campus is the core of space in the campus area, which is the key carrier to reflect the campus culture and the essence of environment.“Harvest Square” is the front part of the campus in Northwest A&F University, which takes green as theme to show the cultural taste and campus features. The article takes this square as an example to elaborate its design ideas, in order to explain the landscape design of front greening square in campus.

Research on Ecological Space Planning Oriented Urban River Landscape Planning

Based on the generalized landscape perspective, regional connotation of urban river landscape is expanded. The area connotation of urban river landscape is expanded based on the generalized landscape perspective. In addition to natural and functional attributes, river landscape should be regarded as a regional space element based on heterogeneous space scale. First, as for research method system, the space research models(including ecological footprint, space planning, and landscape pattern index, etc.) coupled with different angle scales and interdisciplinary theory, are utilized to study different correlations and results formed by urban river landscape elements and other regional space elements from the perspective of the regional ecological space, and the overall development goal of the urban river landscape pattern based on the goals of the regional ecological space planning is obtained. Second, the oriented urban river landscape planning and the "M" type close-tonature design strategy are evaluated through the city function zoning orientation and micro-scale urban river landscape pattern index. The research realizes the compatibility of overall goals in terms of the regional ecology, the development of urban functional areas, and the river landscape planning, without losing micro difference and maneuverability based on the urban river landscape planning and design oriented strategy, which innovates the new approach of urban river landscape planning and design with sustainable and balanced development of regional resources, multi-scale, and multiple objectives.

Design with nature and eco-city design

Designing with Nature is an approach linking design and ecology,which focuses on living with nature,caring for nature,and aiming for a sustainable society.China has made eco-city development,eco-restoration,and eco-civilization its legislative priority and its national strategy,investing a US$618 billion in a 5-year period from 2011–2015 that could reach as high as US$1,124 billion dollars in the period of 2016–2020.“Designing with nature”also means that we must,as we are dealing with resources,consider and understand all the impacting factors and ecosystem capacities.China’s biggest challenge has been to restore water quality,aquatic ecosystems,and landscape patterns.Alongside its natural resources and eco-city development,China possesses a solar energy capacity higher than that of any other country in the world,reaching 174 gigawatts by 2018.Solar power is now cheaper than fossil fuels in hundreds of Chinese cities.In this review,we affirm that the nature-driven design put forth by McHarg’s Design with Nature has withstood the test of time,and we aim to renew interest in McHarg’s ideas by arguing for a design of Chinese cities that is,in keeping with Design with Nature,future-oriented,nature-oriented,and sustainability-oriented.

Optimal Design of Street-side Green Spaces: A Case Study of Tiaoshan Cultural Park in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province

Street-side green spaces are located by urban roads, serving neighboring residents and business population, they are public spaces for citizens working, relaxing and communicating with each other. Landscape design of street-side green spaces is the manifestation of city culture, history and development. Through investigating actual conditions, cultural and historical context, and neighboring traffic of Tiaoshan Cultural Park, this study summarizes deficiencies of the original plant and landscape setting designs, and proposes optimal designs of the park according to the design principles of street-side green spaces.

Study on the Optimization for Design of Indoor Natural Ventilation and Lighting Based on Passive Design Measurements

Based on the current indoor natural ventilation and lighting in the space of traditional residential buildings,this paper starts from the passive-design optimization of the spatial natural ventilation and lighting,and makes quantitative evaluation on the quality of current interior natural ventilation and lighting for two typical residential buildings by three indexes,including wind speed,static wind area ratio and satisfaction ratio about minimum lighting coefficient. Based on that, this paper conducts the passive design optimization, and establishes the quantitative association and reevaluation among the passive reformation design, natural ventilation,and lighting environmental quality,proposing the general strategy for the existing residential buildings to respond to the passive reformation design of the natural ventilation and lighting. The special reconstruction of core functionary space of integration of "the living room + dining room + partial space"is researched,and the redesign for the optimization and replacement of both indoor and outdoor enclosure parts is explored,which is expected to provide practical exploration on the strategies for passive construction of spatial natural environmental quality within a large number of highly-energy-consumed residential buildings in China,as well as the green design of residential buildings.

Application of Natural Elements in Landscape Environment Optimization of Underground Garage

With the increase of car share in the city,the scale of underground garage construction is expanding,and the importance of underground garage space in people’s daily life is also increasing.However,the closed and dark space of the traditional underground garage obviously can not meet the modern life in the city,and landscape environment optimization of underground garage gradually enters people’s vision.In this study,the natural elements that can be introduced into the underground garage for landscape design were classifi ed and sorted,and the design methods were discussed with examples.Finally,the development of landscape environment design of underground garage was prospected.

Planning and Design of Zhengzhou Forest Park Based on Natural Ecological Experience

Through summarizing and analyzing planning objectives, landscape division and natural ecological experience planning of Zhengzhou Forest Park, the authors discussed the application of human-nature harmony in the planning, stressed citizens' needs for experiencing natural ecological environment, and tried to build Zhengzhou Forest Park with picturesque scenery, complete facilities, and harmonious human-nature coexistence.
