A stochastic epidemic model with two age groups is established in this study,in which the susceptible(S),the exposed(E),the infected(I),the hospitalized(H)and the recovered(R)are involved within the total population, the aging rates between two age groups are set to be constant. The existence-and-uniqueness of global positive solution is firstly showed. Then,by constructing several appropriate Lyapunov functions and using the high-dimensional Itô’s formula, the sufficient conditions for the stochastic extinction and stochastic persistence of the exposed individuals and the infected individuals are obtained. The stochastic extinction indicator and the stochastic persistence indicator are less-valued expressions compared with the basic reproduction number.Meanwhile, the main results of this study are modified into multi-age groups.Furthermore,by using the surveillance data for Fujian Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention,Fuzhou COVID-19 epidemic is chosen to carry out the numerical simulations, which show that the age group of the population plays the vital role when studying infectious diseases. 展开更多

Accurate medical diagnosis, which involves identifying diseases based on patient symptoms,is often hindered by uncertainties in data interpretation and retrieval.Advanced fuzzy set theories have emerged as effective tools to address these challenges. In this paper, new mathematical approaches for handling uncertainty in medical diagnosis are introduced using q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets(q-ROFS)and interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets(IVq-ROFS).Three aggregation operators are proposed in our methodologies:the q-ROF weighted averaging(q-ROFWA),the q-ROF weighted geometric(q-ROFWG),and the q-ROF weighted neutrality averaging(qROFWNA),which enhance decision-making under uncertainty. These operators are paired with ranking methods such as the similarity measure, score function, and inverse score function to improve the accuracy of disease identification.Additionally, the impact of varying q-rung values is explored through a sensitivity analysis, extending the analysis beyond the typical maximum value of 3.The Basic Uncertain Information(BUI)method is employed to simulate expert opinions, and aggregation operators are used to combine these opinions in a group decisionmaking context. Our results provide a comprehensive comparison of methodologies, highlighting their strengths and limitations in diagnosing diseases based on uncertain patient data. 展开更多

High-mobility group box 1 was first discovered in the calf thymus as a DNA-binding nuclear protein and has been widely studied in diverse fields, including neurology and neuroscience.High-mobility group box 1 in the extracellular space functions as a pro-inflammatory damage-associated molecular pattern, which has been proven to play an important role in a wide variety of central nervous system disorders such as ischemic stroke,Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia,Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury.Several drugs that inhibit high-mobility group box 1 as a damage-associated molecular pattern, such as glycyrrhizin, ethyl pyruvate, and neutralizing anti-high-mobility group box 1 antibodies, are commonly used to target high-mobility group box 1 activity in central nervous system disorders.Although it is commonly known for its detrimental inflammatory effect,high-mobility group box 1 has also been shown to have beneficial pro-regenerative roles in central nervous system disorders. In this narrative review,we provide a brief summary of the history of high-mobility group box 1 research and its characterization as a damage-associated molecular pattern, its downstream receptors, and intracellular signaling pathways, how high-mobility group box 1 exerts the repair-favoring roles in general and in the central nervous system, and clues on how to differentiate the pro-regenerative from the pro-inflammatory role.Research targeting high-mobility group box 1 in the central nervous system may benefit from differentiating between the two functions rather than overall suppression of high-mobility group box 1. 展开更多

Herein the use of rare-earth compounds in catalytic reduction systems for the end-group functionalization of carboxyl-terminated low-molecularweight fluoropolymers was explored.Leveraging the high catalytic activity and selectivity of rare-earth compounds along with no residual impact on polymer product's performance, highly efficient catalytic reduction systems containing sodium borohydride(NaBH_(4))and rare-earth chloride(RECl_(3))were specifically designed for a telechelic carboxyl-terminated liquid fluoroeslastomer, aiming to facilitate the conversion of chainend carboxyl groups into hydroxyl groups and improvement in end-group reactivity. To achieve this, lanthanum chloride(LaCl_(3)),cerium chloride(CeCl_(3)),and neodymium chloride(NdCl_(3))were used separately to form catalytic reduction systems with NaBH_(4).The effects of solvent dosage, reaction temperature, reaction time length, and reductant dosage on carboxylic conversion were investigated, and the molecular chain structure, molecular weight, and functional group content of the raw materials and the products were analyzed and characterized by means of infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),proton nuclear magnetic resonance(^(1)H-NMR),fluorine-19 nuclear magnetic resonance(^(19)F-NMR),gel permeation chromatography(GPC),and chemical titration. Moreover, the catalytic activity and selectivity of the rare-earth chlorides,as well as the corresponding underlying interactions were discussed. Results indicated that the rare-earth-containing catalytic reduction systems studied in this work could efficiently convert the chain-end carboxyl groups into highly active hydroxyl groups, with a highest conversion up to 87.0%and differing catalytic reduction activities ranked as NaBH_(4)/CeCl_(3)>NaBH_(4)/LaCl_(3)>NaBH_(4)/NdCl_(3).Compared with the conventional lithium aluminum hydride(LiAIH_(4))reduction system, the NaBH_(4)/RECl_(3)systems provide multiple advantages such as mild reaction conditions, high conversion ratio with good selectivity, and environmental innocuity, and are potentially applicable as new reduction-catalysis combinations for the synthesis and functionalization of polymer materials. 展开更多

This paper describes a shake table test study on the seismic response of low-cap pile groups and a bridge structure in liquefiable ground. The soil profile, contained in a large-scale laminar shear box, consisted of a horizontally saturated sand layer overlaid with a silty clay layer, with the simulated low-cap pile groups embedded. The container was excited in three E1 Centro earthquake events of different levels. Test results indicate that excessive pore pressure (EPP) during slight shaking only slightly accumulated, and the accumulation mainly occurred during strong shaking. The EPP was gradually enhanced as the amplitude and duration of the input acceleration increased. The acceleration response of the sand was remarkably influenced by soil liquefaction. As soil liquefaction occurred, the peak sand displacement gradually lagged behind the input acceleration; meanwhile, the sand displacement exhibited an increasing effect on the bending moment of the pile, and acceleration responses of the pile and the sand layer gradually changed from decreasing to increasing in the vertical direction from the bottom to the top. A jump variation of the bending moment on the pile was observed near the soil interface in all three input earthquake events. It is thought that the shake table tests could provide the groundwork for further seismic performance studies of low-cap pile groups used in bridges located on liquefiable groun. 展开更多

Large and super-large section chamber groups in coal mines are frequently affected by dynamic loads resulting from production activities such as roadway driving and blasting. The stability of the surrounding rock is poor, and it is difficult to control. In this paper,a similar simulation test was used to study the deformation and evolution laws of the surrounding rock of a triangle-shaped chamber group under different dynamic loads. The results showed that under dynamic loading, the vertical stress of the surrounding rock of the chamber group increased in an oscillatory form. The maximum stress concentration coefficient reached 4.09.The damage degree of the roof was greater than that of the two sides. The deformation of the roof was approximately 1.2 times that of the two sides. For the chamber closer to the power source, the stress oscillation amplitude of the surrounding rock was larger, and the failure was more serious. The force of the anchorage structure showed a phased increasing characteristic;additionally, the force of the anchorage structure on the adjacent side of the chambers was greater than that on the other side. This study reveals the deformation and failure evolution laws of the surrounding rock of large section chamber groups under dynamic loading. 展开更多

Understanding three-dimensional(3D)in situ stress field is of key importance for estimating the stability of large deep underground cavern groups near valleys. However, the complete 3D in situ stress fields around large deep underground cavern groups are difficult to determine based on in situ stress data from a limited number of measuring points due to the insufficient representativeness and unreliability of such measurements. In this study,an integrated approach for estimating the 3D in situ stress field around a large deep underground cavern group near a valley is developed based on incomplete in situ stress measurements and the stress-induced failures of tunnels excavated prior to the step excavation of the cavern group. This integrated approach is implemented via four interrelated and progressive basic steps,i.e.inference of the regional tectonic stress field direction, analyses of in situ stress characteristics and measurement reliability,regression-based in situ stress field analysis and reliability assessment, and modified in situ stress field analysis and reliability verification. The orientations and magnitudes of the 3D in situ stress field can be analyzed and obtained at a strategic level following these four basic steps.First, the tectonic stress field direction around the cavern group is deduced in accordance with the regional tectonic framework and verified using a regional crustal deformation velocity map.Second, the reliability of the in situ stress measurements is verified based on the locations and depths of stressinduced brittle failures in small tunnels(such as exploratory tunnels and pilot tunnels)within the excavation range of the cavern group.Third, considering the influences of the valley topography and major geological structures, the 3D in situ stress field is regressed using numerical simulation and multiple linear regression techniques based on the in situ stress measurements. Finally, the regressed in situ stress field is further modified and reverified based on the stress-induced brittle failures of small tunnels and the initial excavation of the cavern group.A case study of the Shuangjiangkou underground cavern group demonstrates that the proposed approach is reliable for estimating the 3D in situ stress fields of large deep underground cavern groups near valleys, thus contributing to the optimization of practical excavation and design of mitigating the instability of the surrounding rock masses during step excavations. 展开更多

The response of pile foundation in liquefable sand reinforced by densification techniques remains a very complex problem during strong earthquakes. A shake-table experiment was carried out to investigate the behavior of a reinforced concrete low-cap pile group embedded in this type of ground. In this study, a three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) analysis of the experiment was conducted. The computed response of the soil-pile system was in reasonable agreement with the experimental results, highlighting some key characteristics. Then, a parametric study was performed to explore the influence of pile spacing, pile stiffness (E/), superstructure mass, sand permeability, and shaking characteristics of input motion on the behavior of the pile. The investigation demonstrated a stiffening behavior appearing in the liquefied medium- dense sand, and the pile group effect seemed negligible. Furthermore, the kinematic effect was closely connected with both EI and sand permeability. Nevertheless, the inertial effect was strongly influenced by the superstructure mass. Meanwhile, high frequency and large amplitude of the input motion could produced greater the pile's moments. It is estimated that this case study could further enhance the current understanding of the behavior of low-cap pile foundations in liquefied dense sand. 展开更多

As the continuation study on amplification of in-plane seismic ground motion by underground group cavities in layered half-space, this study extends to the case of poroelastic half-space with dry poroelastic and saturated poroelastic soil layers. The influence of poroelastic layers on the amplification of seismic ground motion is studied both in frequency domain and time domain using indirect boundary element method (IBEM). It is shown that for the example of a saturated poroelastic site in Tianjin under the excitation of Taft wave and E1 Centro wave, the amplification of seismic ground motion in poroelastic case is slightly smaller than that in the elastic case, and the amplification of PGA (peak ground acceleration) and its PRS (peak response spectrum).. can be increased up to 38.8% and 64.6%; the predominant period of response spectra in poroelastic case becomes shorter to some extent compared with that in the elastic case. Steeply dipping seam group, which has complex occurrence conditions, belongs to the steeply dipping seam. The research on the strata movement around the coal face not only improves safe production technology in practice, but also develops the mining theory. By using physical simulation experiments, numerical simulation and site test, the deformation, failure and movement of surrounding rock in Iongwall working face were analyzed. According to the analysis, characteristics of the seam group were formed which is different from the single seam. Asymmetry mechanics, sequential changes and imbalance of strata movement along the tendency working face were summarized. Furthermore the features of upper and lower seams were different. The mining of the lower seam induced more complex strata movement along the strike. Multi-section mining disturbed surrounding rocks in larger areas than the single section mining did, which had an impact on and dynamic loading function to the support when mining the lower seam, and produced a great influence on the stability of support-rock system. 展开更多

To prepare a highly efficient NiMo/Al_(2)O_(3) hydrodesulfurization catalyst, the combined effects of specific organic functional groups and alumina surface characteristics were investigated.First, the correlation between the surface characteristics of four different alumina and the existing Mo species states was established. It was found that the Mo equilibrium adsorption capacity can be used as a specific descriptor to quantitatively evaluate the changes in surface characteristics of different alumina.A lower Mo equilibrium adsorption capacity for alumina means weaker metal-support interaction and the loaded Mo species are easier to transform into MoS2.However,the Mo-O-Al bonds still exist at the metal-support interface. The introduction of cationic surfactant hecadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB)can further improve Mo species dispersion through electrostatic attraction with Mo anions and interaction of its alkyl chain with the alumina surface;meanwhile, the introduction of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA)can complex with Ni ions to enhance the Ni-promoting effect on Mo.Therefore, the NiMo catalyst designed using alumina with lower Mo equilibrium adsorption capacity and the simultaneous addition of EDTA and CTAB exhibits the highest hydrodesulfurization activity for 4,6-dimethyl dibenzothiophene because of its proper metal-support interaction and more well-dispersed Ni-Mo-S active phases. 展开更多

On-site and real-time non-destructive measurement of elastic constants for materials of a component in a in-service structure is a challenge due to structural complexities, such as ambiguous boundary, variable thickness, nonuniform material properties. This work develops for the first time a method that uses ultrasound echo groups and artificial neural network(ANN)for reliable on-site real-time identification of material parameters. The use of echo groups allows the use of lower frequencies, and hence more accommodative to structural complexity. To train the ANNs,a numerical model is established that is capable of computing the waveform of ultrasonic echo groups for any given set of material properties of a given structure. The waveform of an ultrasonic echo groups at an interest location on the surface the structure with material parameters varying in a predefined range are then computed using the numerical model. This results in a set of dataset for training the ANN model.Once the ANN is trained, the material parameters can be identified simultaneously using the actual measured echo waveform as input to the ANN.Intensive tests have been conducted both numerically and experimentally to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the currently proposed method. The results show that the maximum identification error of numerical example is less than 2%,and the maximum identification error of experimental test is less than 7%.Compared with currently prevailing methods and equipment, the proposefy the density and thickness,in addition to the elastic constants. Moreover, the reliability and accuracy of inverse prediction is significantly improved. Thus,it has broad applications and enables real-time field measurements, which has not been fulfilled by any other available methods or equipment. 展开更多

Low Earth Orbit(LEO)multibeam satellites will be widely used in the next generation of satellite communication systems, whose inter-beam interference will inevitably limit the performance of the whole system.Nonlinear precoding such as Tomlinson-Harashima precoding(THP)algorithm has been proved to be a promising technology to solve this problem, which has smaller noise amplification effect compared with linear precoding. However, the similarity of different user channels(defined as channel correlation)will degrade the performance of THP algorithm. In this paper,we qualitatively analyze the inter-beam interference in the whole process of LEO satellite over a specific coverage area, and the impact of channel correlation on Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)of receivers when THP is applied. One user grouping algorithm is proposed based on the analysis of channel correlation, which could decrease the number of users with high channel correlation in each precoding group, thus improve the performance of THP.Furthermore, our algorithm is designed under the premise of co-frequency deployment and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM),which leads to more users under severe inter-beam interference compared to the existing research on geostationary orbit satellites broadcasting systems.Simulation results show that the proposed user grouping algorithm possesses higher channel capacity and better bit error rate(BER)performance in high SNR conditions relative to existing works. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Diabetic intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)is a serious complication of diabetes. The role and mechanism of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSC)-derived exosomes(BMSC-exo)in neuroinflammation post-ICH in patients with diabetes are unknown. In this study,we investigated the regulation of BMSC-exo on hyperglycemia-induced neuroinflammation.AIM To study the mechanism of BMSC-exo on nerve function damage after diabetes complicated with cerebral hemorrhage.METHODS BMSC-exo were isolated from mouse BMSC media. This was followed by transfection with microRNA-129-5p(miR-129-5p).BMSC-exo or miR-129-5poverexpressing BMSC-exo were intravitreally injected into a diabetes mouse model with ICH for in vivo analyses and were cocultured with high glucoseaffected BV2 cells for in vitro analyses. The dual luciferase test and RNA immunoprecipitation test verified the targeted binding relationship between miR-129-5p and high-mobility group box 1(HMGB1).Quantitative polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were conducted to assess the levels of some inflammation factors, such as HMGB1,interleukin 6,interleukin 1β,toll-like receptor 4,and tumor necrosis factorα.Brain water content, neural function deficit score, and Evans blue were used to measure the neural function of mice.RESULTS Our findings indicated that BMSC-exo can promote neuroinflammation and functional recovery.MicroRNA chip analysis of BMSC-exo identified miR-129-5p as the specific microRNA with a protective role in neuroinflammation.Overexpression of miR-129-5p in BMSC-exo reduced the inflammatory response and neurological impairment in comorbid diabetes and ICH cases.Furthermore,we found that miR-129-5p had a targeted binding relationship with HMGB1 mRNA.CONCLUSION We demonstrated that BMSC-exo can reduce the inflammatory response after ICH with diabetes, thereby improving the neurological function of the brain. 展开更多
