Gravel hardness effect on compaction characteristics of gravelly soil

The compaction characteristics of gravelly soil are affected by gravel hardness.To investigate the evolution and influencing mechanism of different gravel hardness on the compaction characteristics of gravelly soil,heavy compaction tests and crushing tests were conducted on gravelly soils with gravels originated from hard,soft and extremely soft rocks.According to orthogonal experiments and variance analysis,it was found that hardness has a significant impact on the maximum dry density of gravelly soil,followed by gravel content,and lastly,moisture content.For gravel compositions with an average saturated uniaxial compressive strength less than 60 MPa,the order of compacted maximum dry density is soft gravels>hard gravels>extremely soft gravels.Each type of gravelly soil has a threshold for gravel content,with 60%for hard and soft gravels and 50%for extremely soft gravels.Beyond these thresholds,the compacted dry density decreases significantly.There is a certain interaction between hardness,gravel content,and moisture content.Higher hardness increases the influence of gravel content,whereas lower hardness increases the influence of moisture content.Gravelly soils with the coarse aggregate(CA)between 0.7 and 0.8 typically achieve higher dry densities after compaction.In addition,the prediction equations for the particle breakage rate and CA ratio in the Bailey method were proposed to estimate the compaction performance of gravelly soil preliminarily.The results further revealed the compaction mechanism of different gravelly soils and can provide reference for subgrade filling construction. 展开更多

Enhancing cavern sealing is crucial for improving the efficiency of compressed air energy storage(CAES)in hard rock formations.This study introduced a novel approach using a nano-grade organosilicon polymer(NOSP)as a sealant,coupled with an air seepage evaluation model that incorporates Knudsen diffusion.Moreover,the initial coating application methods were outlined,and the advantages of using NOSP compared to other sealing materials,particularly regarding cost and construction techniques,were also examined and discussed.Experimental results indicated a significant reduction in permeability of rock specimens coated with a 7–10μm thick NOSP layer.Specifically,under a 0.5 MPa pulse pressure,the permeability decreased to less than 1 n D,and under a 4 MPa pulse pressure,it ranged between4.5×10^(-6)–5.5×10^(-6)m D,marking a 75%–80%decrease in granite permeability.The sealing efficacy of NOSP surpasses concrete and is comparable to rubber materials.The optimal viscosity for application lies between 95 and 105 KU,and the coating thickness should ideally range from 7 to 10μm,applied to substrates with less than 3%porosity.This study provides new insights into air transport and sealing mechanisms at the pore level,proposing NOSP as a cost-effective and simplified solution for CAES applications. 展开更多

Ground hydraulic fracturing plays a crucial role in controlling the far-field hard roof,making it imperative to identify the most suitable target stratum for effective control.Physical experiments are conducted based on engineering properties to simulate the gradual collapse of the roof during longwall top coal caving(LTCC).A numerical model is established using the material point method(MPM)and the strain-softening damage constitutive model according to the structure of the physical model.Numerical simulations are conducted to analyze the LTCC process under different hard roofs for ground hydraulic fracturing.The results show that ground hydraulic fracturing releases the energy and stress of the target stratum,resulting in a substantial lag in the fracturing of the overburden before collapse occurs in the hydraulic fracturing stratum.Ground hydraulic fracturing of a low hard roof reduces the lag effect of hydraulic fractures,dissipates the energy consumed by the fracture of the hard roof,and reduces the abutment stress.Therefore,it is advisable to prioritize the selection of the lower hard roof as the target stratum. 展开更多

To analyze and predict the mechanical behaviors of deep hard rocks,some key issues concerning rock fracturing mechanics for deep hard rock excavations are discussed.First,a series of apparatuses and methods have been developed to test the mechanical properties and fracturing behaviors of hard rocks under high true triaxial stress paths.Evolution mechanisms of stress-induced disasters in deep hard rock excavations,such as spalling,deep cracking,massive roof collapse,large deformation and rockbursts,have been recognized.The analytical theory for the fracturing process of hard rock masses,including the three-dimensional failure criterion,stress-induced mechanical model,fracturing degree index,energy release index and numerical method,has been established.The cracking-restraint method is developed for mitigating or controlling rock spalling,deep cracking and massive collapse of deep hard rocks.An energy-controlled method is also proposed for the prevention of rockbursts.Finally,two typical cases are used to illustrate the application of the proposed methodology in the Baihetan caverns and Bayu tunnels of China. 展开更多

The phase evolution in (88%-91%)Mg-8%Sn-l%Zn-X (X=A1, Mn and/or Ce) system was analyzed via CALPHAD method and simulations were used in precise selection of the chemical composition. The influence of the addition of different alloying elements such as A1, Mn and Ce on the microstructure and microhardness of Mg-8%Sn-l%Zn-based alloys was investigated. Combined addition of A1 and Mn shows features distinct from separate addition of A1 or Mn. Additions of l%AI and l%Mn to base alloy result in the formation of massive A1-Mn phase in a-Mg matrix grains. Addition of Ce element can refme the second eutectic precipitates and form intermetallic compounds with Sn. Fine rod-like Sn-Ce phase presents mainly on the grain boundaries and plays a role in inhibiting grain growth. The effects of alloying elements on Vickers microhardness and indentation size effect of base alloy were examined. 展开更多

Fetr6 is an underground mine using the stope-and-pillar mining method. As there was some evidence regarding pillar failure in this mine, improving works such as roof support and replacing existing pillars with concrete pillars (CP) were carried out. During the construction of the second CP, in the space between the remaining pillars, one of the pillars failed leading to the progressive failure of other pillars until 4 000 m 2 of mine had collapsed within a few minutes. In this work, this phenomenon is described by applying both numerical and empirical methods and the respective results are compared. The results of numerical modelling are found to be closer to the actual condition than those of the empirical method. Also, a width-to-height (W/H) ratio less than 1, an inadequate support system and the absence of a detailed program for pillar recovery are shown to be the most important causes of the Domino failure in this mine. 展开更多

Laser surface transformation hardening becomes one of the most effective processes used to improve wear and fatigue resistance of mechanical parts. In this process, the material physicochemical properties and the heating system parameters have significant effects on the characteristics of the hardened surface. To appropriately exploit the benefits presented by the laser surface hardening, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive strategy to control the process variables in order to produce desired hardened surface attributes without being forced to use the traditional and fastidious trial and error procedures. The paper presents a study of hardness profile predictive modeling and experimental validation for spline shafts using a 3D model. The proposed approach is based on thermal and metallurgical simulations, experimental investigations and statistical analysis to build the prediction model. The simulation of the hardening process is carried out using 3D finite element model on commercial software. The model is used to estimate the temperature distribution and the hardness profile attributes for various hardening parameters, such as laser power, shaft rotation speed and scanning speed. The experimental calibration and validation of the model are performed on a 3 kW Nd:Yag laser system using a structured experimental design and confirmed statistical analysis tools. The results reveal that the model can provide not only a consistent and accurate prediction of temperature distribution and hardness profile characteristics under variable hardening parameters and conditions but also a comprehensive and quantitative analysis of process parameters effects. The modelling results show a great concordance between predicted and measured values for the dimensions of hardened zones. 展开更多

Bismuth-doped tin dioxide (BTO) nanometer powders were prepared by the wet chemical method using tin tetrachloride (SnCl4), bismuth nitrate [Bi(NO3) 3 ] and ammonia as raw materials. Non-bridge hydroxides and capillary force between particles were found to be key factors causing hard aggregation of BTO through analyzing the formation mechanism of hard aggregation. The hard aggregation of BTO was eliminated effectively when the Bi-Sn precursor (BSP) was treated with post processing including dispersing with ultrasonic wave, refluxing and distilling with addition of n-butanol and benzene (DRD) and drying by microwave. Characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), BTO spherical particles with tetragonal phase structure are well crystallized, dispersed easily and the average size was less than 10 nm. 展开更多

Soft and hard interbedded bedding rock slopes,which is prone to failure,are widely distributed in the Three Gorges Reservoir,China.Limit equilibrium method(LEM)is commonly used to analyze the stability of bedding rock slopes that have a single failure plane.However,this method cannot accurately estimate the stability of soft and hard interbedded bedding reservoir slopes because the strength parameters of a soft and hard interbedded rock mass vary spatially along the bedding plane and deteriorate with time due to periodic fluctuations of reservoir level.A modified LEM is proposed to evaluate the stability evolution of soft and hard interbedded bedding reservoir slopes considering the spatial variation and temporal deterioration of shear strength parameters of rock masses and bedding planes.In the modified LEM,the S-curve model is used to define the spatial variation of shear strength parameters,and general deterioration equations of shear strength parameters with the increasing number of wettingdrying cycles(WDC)are proposed to describe the temporal deterioration.Also,this method is applied to evaluate the stability evolution of a soft and hard interbedded bedding reservoir slope,located at the Three Gorges Reservoir.The results show that neglecting the spatial variation and temporal deterioration of shear strength parameters may overestimate slope stability.Finally,the modified LEM provides useful guidance to reasonably evaluate the long-term stability of soft and hard interbedded bedding reservoir slopes in reservoir area. 展开更多

Laser surface hardening becomes one of the most effective techniques used to enhance wear and fatigue resistance of mechanical parts. The characteristics of the hardened surface depend on the physicochemical properties of the material as well as the heating system parameters. To adequately exploit the benefits presented by the laser heating method, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive strategy to control the process parameters in order to produce desired hardened surface attributes without being forced to use the traditional and fastidious trial and error procedures. This study presents a comprehensive approach used to build a simplified model for predicting the hardness profile. A finite element method based prediction model for AISI 4340 steel is investigated. A circular shape with a Gaussian distribution is used for modeling the laser heat source. COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS software is used to solve the heat transfer equations, estimate the temperature distribution in the part and consequently predict the hardness profile. A commercial 3 kW Nd:Yag laser system is combined to a structured experimental design and confirmed statistical analysis tools for conducting the experimental calibration and validation of the model. The results reveal that the model can effectively lead to a consistent and accurate prediction of the hardness profile characteristics under variable hardening parameters and conditions. The results show great concordance between predicted and measured values for the dimensions of hardened and melted zones. 展开更多

目的:探讨微种植体支抗加力方式对上颌前突患者关闭拔牙间隙后颌面部软、硬组织的影响。方法:选取2020年4月-2023年6月在上海交通大学医学院附属第九人民医院口腔外科、口腔颅颌面科收治的156例上颌前突患者作为研究对象。所有患者均需... 目的:探讨微种植体支抗加力方式对上颌前突患者关闭拔牙间隙后颌面部软、硬组织的影响。方法:选取2020年4月-2023年6月在上海交通大学医学院附属第九人民医院口腔外科、口腔颅颌面科收治的156例上颌前突患者作为研究对象。所有患者均需拔除上颌双侧第一前磨牙并使用微种植体支抗内收上前牙,采用随机数字表法将患者分入A组(予以短牵引钩和直接支抗法,n=52例)、B组(予以长牵引钩和直接支抗法,n=52例)和C组(予以短牵引钩和间接支抗法,n=52例)关闭拔牙间隙。比较三组治疗前后颌面部软硬组织变化。结果:关闭间隙前,三组患者颅颌软组织、硬组织指标比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),但B组鼻根点与上、下齿槽座点三者连线的夹角(ANB)大于A组、C组(P<0.05)。关闭间隙后,三组患者蝶鞍点与鼻根点,上齿槽座点三者连线的夹角(SNA)、蝶鞍点与鼻根点,下齿槽座点三者连线的夹角(SNB)、下颌平面角(SN-MP)、上中切牙内收量(U1-SN)、鼻唇角、牙冠舌向移动量(U1c-Sv)、覆盖、上颌第一磨牙近中颊尖点、近中根尖点压低量(U6c-H、U6r-H)变化值比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),ANB、颌平面角(SN-OP)、上颌第一磨牙内收量(U6-SN)、牙根舌向移动量(U1r-Sv)、上中切牙切缘点、牙根尖点压低量(U1c-H、U1r-H)、上颌第一磨牙近中颊尖点、近中根尖点与Sv距离(U6c-Sv、U6r-Sv)、上颌第一磨牙近中颊尖点、近中根尖点压低量(U6c-H、U6r-H)、覆(牙合)变化值比较差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);且B组ANB、Ls-E线变化值大于C组(P<0.05),A组SN-OP、U6-SN、U1c-Sv变化值大于C组(P<0.05);B组U1r-Sv、U1c-H变化值大于A组、C组,且C组大于A组(P<0.05);B组U1r-H变化值大于A组、C组,且A组大于C组(P<0.05);C组U6c-Sv变化值大于B组(P<0.05);A组U6c-H、U6r-H变化值大于B组(P<0.05);B组覆(牙合)变化值大于A组、C组(P<0.05)。结论:三种不同的微种植体支抗加力方式用于上颌前突患者均具有较好的支抗效果,可改善上颌硬组织的形态,并引起相应软组织的改变。其中,短牵引钩配合直接支抗法能明显压低磨牙、使冠远中倾斜,且(牙合)平面顺时针旋转;长牵引钩配合直接支抗法可获得更好的前牙控根移动和压低效果,且对上前牙垂直向改变效果也较好,有益于覆(牙合)控制,与短牵引钩配合间接支抗法均可获得较好的滑动内收力,稳定(牙合)平面。 展开更多

[目的]为了减少TBM(硬岩隧道掘进机)在高磨蚀性岩层中掘进时的换刀次数,以及选出最适用于高磨蚀性岩层的滚刀,提出一种基于层次分析法的滚刀评价方法。[方法]建立了滚刀磨损失效危害评价模型;选取7个磨损失效类型因素,基于层次分析法建立了滚刀磨损失效危害评价模型和比较判断矩阵,计算出各失效类型危害的占比;以广佛东环城际铁路大源站至太和站区间线路为例,对4个常用品牌的滚刀进行定量分析;建立风险评价分值表,分析4个品牌的滚刀在使用过程中的失效影响评价值。[结果及结论]高磨蚀岩层中的滚刀非正常磨损占比为23.29%,正常磨损占比为76.71%。c品牌和d品牌滚刀的失效影响评价值分别为7.141和4.816,远小于a品牌滚刀的失效影响评价值7.587和b品牌滚刀的失效影响评价值9.058。d品牌滚刀的相对磨损速率大于c品牌滚刀,因此c品牌滚刀最适用于高磨蚀性岩层。a品牌滚刀适用于硬度极大的岩层,b品牌滚刀不推荐使用,d品牌滚刀适用于硬度较小的岩层。 展开更多

为了解决合金钢构件布氏硬度无损、在线、在役定量监/检测问题,构建并使用先进临界折射纵波参量试验装置,开展了超声临界折射纵波定量评定合金钢近表层布氏硬度的试验,测量超声临界折射纵波在合金钢标定试件上的传播特性参量,计算评定... 为了解决合金钢构件布氏硬度无损、在线、在役定量监/检测问题,构建并使用先进临界折射纵波参量试验装置,开展了超声临界折射纵波定量评定合金钢近表层布氏硬度的试验,测量超声临界折射纵波在合金钢标定试件上的传播特性参量,计算评定布氏硬度所需的检测参量,即声速及衰减系数。通过改变收、发探头前沿间距和标定试件的显微织构,观察上述变化对超声波传播特性参量的影响,遴选并评定合金钢标定试件布氏硬度敏感检测参量,建立了临界折射纵波定量评定45#钢标定试件近表层布氏硬度标定映射关系的数学模型,并验证其预测准确度。结果表明,试验所得的临界折射纵波检测参量对标定试件布氏硬度的敏感程度不同,声速与布氏硬度具有较强的关联性,且声速预测模型的测量误差为实际应用的10%,满足要求;而衰减系数不能作为评价合金钢近表层布氏硬度性能的检测参量。本研究为采用超声无损检测方法评定合金钢构件布氏硬度提供了一定的借鉴。 展开更多

基于正交实验法研究了淬火过程中加热速率、保温温度、保温时间和冷却速率等参数对BS960E贝氏体高强钢显微组织和力学性能的影响。结果表明,淬火后BS960E钢的组织均为板条马氏体;通过正交实验法设计的淬火工艺获得最小平均晶粒尺寸的最... 基于正交实验法研究了淬火过程中加热速率、保温温度、保温时间和冷却速率等参数对BS960E贝氏体高强钢显微组织和力学性能的影响。结果表明,淬火后BS960E钢的组织均为板条马氏体;通过正交实验法设计的淬火工艺获得最小平均晶粒尺寸的最优参数组合为:加热速率50℃/s、保温温度920℃及保温时间2 min;获得最大维氏硬度的最优参数组合为:加热速率50℃/s、保温温度1010℃、保温时间2 min及冷却速度100℃/s。通过增设对照实验组验证了正交实验法的正确性,正交实验设计的试样最小平均晶粒尺寸为6.36μm,马氏体板条群、马氏体板条块和马氏体板条分别为5.2μm、1.24μm和336.3 nm。正交实验设计的试样最大硬度为424.3 HV,马氏体板条群、马氏体板条块和马氏体板条分别为8.5μm、1.65μm和333.5 nm。相比于前者,后者在冷却速率相同(100℃/s)的情况下,由更高的温度(1010℃)降低至室温,产生了更大的过冷度,马氏体相变驱动力增加导致位错密度增加,大角度晶界占比由70.5%提高至83.3%,因此硬度更高。 展开更多

上软下硬地层盾构开挖面稳定性计算模型

针对上软下硬地层失稳特点,在假定开挖面附近因土体失稳而由软硬地层分界线先向上诱发形成部分楔形体、再呈倒圆台状向地面发展的基础上,提出开挖面稳定性计算模型。先基于极限平衡法提出部分楔形体计算模型;再依据修正后的楔形体计算模... 针对上软下硬地层失稳特点,在假定开挖面附近因土体失稳而由软硬地层分界线先向上诱发形成部分楔形体、再呈倒圆台状向地面发展的基础上,提出开挖面稳定性计算模型。先基于极限平衡法提出部分楔形体计算模型;再依据修正后的楔形体计算模型,分别计算上覆土压力和开挖面前方部分楔形体的受力;最后依托青岛地铁6号线某区间工程开展数值模拟,验证理论模型。结果表明:不同支护应力比条件下的土体变形范围有所差异,土体变形主要发生在开挖面前方和上方并呈泡状延伸;数值模拟得到的开挖面失稳形态基本符合理论计算模型的假定形状;理论计算得到该例盾构开挖面极限支护应力比为0.21,与数值模拟的误差率为5%;当开挖面支护力小于极限支护力时,上软下硬地层开挖面水平变形会突然迅速增大;开挖面附近的岩土体变形主要发生在上部软弱部分,最大水平位移出现在上部软土中心附近,开挖面上土体最大水平位移与开挖面上方地表最大竖向位移间的相关性较高,两者变形规律类似。 展开更多

针对双厚组合坚硬顶板厚煤层工作面开采过程中的强矿压显现问题,本文提出了定向长钻水力压裂方案,并基于压力实测、瞬变电磁及钻孔窥视方法从孔内、孔外、动态、静态四个方面对定向长钻水力压裂裂缝扩展进行可视化监测评价。研究成果表... 针对双厚组合坚硬顶板厚煤层工作面开采过程中的强矿压显现问题,本文提出了定向长钻水力压裂方案,并基于压力实测、瞬变电磁及钻孔窥视方法从孔内、孔外、动态、静态四个方面对定向长钻水力压裂裂缝扩展进行可视化监测评价。研究成果表明:压裂过程包括钻孔周围微裂隙发育扩展,出现宏观裂缝,宏观裂缝周围微裂隙发育,出现新的宏观裂缝,直至压裂完成;钻孔径向20m范围内岩层电阻率较低,大裂缝较为发育;设计的3个钻孔压裂后影响范围基本可以覆盖整个顶板治理区域;长钻孔内各压裂段裂隙可以实现贯通,钻孔内纵裂隙、横裂隙交替发育形成三维裂隙网络;压裂后顶板微震事件总能量和总次数都显著降低,压裂层位顶板能量提前释放,表现为“高频低能”显现,工作面来压强度明显改善。 展开更多

上软下硬地层且富水环境中,基坑止水帷幕的施工质量直接影响基坑开挖安全和变形控制。依托青岛市地铁7号线周村站深大基坑工程,从施工机械、施工方法和信息化角度探讨CSM工法,形成整体式止水帷幕施工关键技术。系统研究了CSM刀盘选型与... 上软下硬地层且富水环境中,基坑止水帷幕的施工质量直接影响基坑开挖安全和变形控制。依托青岛市地铁7号线周村站深大基坑工程,从施工机械、施工方法和信息化角度探讨CSM工法,形成整体式止水帷幕施工关键技术。系统研究了CSM刀盘选型与配置,浆液材料配合比,双轮铣头多点喷浆技术及注浆参数,浆液制备、存储方法,跳打搭接循环施工方法,以及CSM钻进全过程数据信息化监测方法。基于现场监测结果,CSM工法水泥土墙深基本超出设计墙深0.5%,基坑开挖过程外围水位最大降深为1.5m,右邻省道最大沉降值为13.1mm,基坑开挖安全,表明CSM整体式止水帷幕适应性强、成墙质量好。 展开更多
