However, the systematization of the phenomenon is still pending, so we made an attempt to fill this gap in the previous parts of our study by elaborating formulas for calculation of parasitic torques. It was a general demand among those who work in this field towards the author to verify his formulas with measurements. In the literature, it seems,only one detailed, purposeful series of measurements has been published so far, the purpose of which was to investigate the effect of the number of rotor slots on the torque-speed characteristic curve of the machine. The main goal of this study is to verify the correctness of the formulas by comparing them with the referred series of measurements. Relying on this, the expected synchronous parasitic torques were developed for the frequently used rotor slot numbers-as a design guide for the engineer.Thus, together with our complete table for radial magnetic pull published in our previous work, the designer has all the principles, data and formulas available for the right number of rotor slots for his given machine and for the drive system. Here,we introduce a partitioned design method that is oriented toward airgap harmonic for permanent magnet vernier(PMV)motors.The method proposes the utilization of airgap flux harmonics as an effective bridge between...Here,we introduce a partitioned design method that is oriented toward airgap harmonic for permanent magnet vernier(PMV)motors.The method proposes the utilization of airgap flux harmonics as an effective bridge between the torque design region and the torque performances.To illustrate the efficacy of this method,a partitioned design PMV motor is presented and compared with the initial design.Firstly,the torque design region of the rotor is artfully divided into the torque enhancement region and ripple reduction region.Meanwhile,the main harmonics that generate output torque are chosen and enhanced,optimization.Moreover,the harmonics that generate torque ripple are selected and reduced based on torque harmonics optimization.Finally,the functions of the partitioned PMV motor torque are assessed based on the finite element method.By the purposeful design of these two regions,the output torque is strengthened while torque ripple is inhibited effectively,verifying the effectiveness and reasonability of the proposed design method.展开更多

The spoke-type permanent magnet motor with auxiliary stator exhibits high torque performance owing to the flux focus effects.To further improve its torque density,this paper proposes a control method by using harmonic...The spoke-type permanent magnet motor with auxiliary stator exhibits high torque performance owing to the flux focus effects.To further improve its torque density,this paper proposes a control method by using harmonic current strategy.Based on the theoretical analysis,a 3-D torque look-up table by dq-axis current and electrical angle is established with the aid of the finite element method(FEM).The maximum torque per ampere curve at each rotor position is identified and summarized to adequately indicate the relationship between torque and current amplitude of the motor.Through theoretical derivation,it is concluded that the minimum torque cost curve is the contour line of?Te/?i2,which can be employed to identify the harmonic current for torque density improvement.Compared to traditional strategies,the proposed control strategy can increase torque density of forward and reverse torque by 1.22%and 1.40%,respectively.The experimental results verify the analysis and simulation results,as well as prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.展开更多

The sinusoidal waveform shapi...In this paper, a new type of harmonic injection permanent magnet shape optimization method is proposed to suppress the torque ripple of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor. The sinusoidal waveform shaping of the axial section of the permanent magnet is added with the third harmonic shaping, and the sine wave and the third harmonic are derived. The optimal ratio is 6:1. The permanent magnet no shaping, sinusoidal shaping and sinusoidal combined third harmonic shaping are compared. The results show that the sinusoidal combined third harmonic shaping design can effectively suppress the torque ripple of the surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor and obtain a relatively large output torque. At the same time, a method of using permanent magnet segmentation to approximately equivalently replace sine combined with third harmonic shaping design is proposed, which effectively saves the manufacturing cost of permanent magnets and provides design and research ideas for more economical and effective optimization of surface-mounted permanent magnet motors.展开更多

These mathematical models are further analyzed in the fundamental space and the fifth harmonic space after the fault and to eliminate the coupling between the d-q axis voltage equation in the fundamental wave space and the d-q axis voltage equation in the fifth harmonic space, a secondary rotation coordinate transformation matrix is proposed. To achieve the purpose of reducing torque ripple, the fault-tolerant control method proposed in this paper not only takes the minimum copper loss as the constraint condition, but also injects the fifth harmonic current. To elucidate the principles of notable torque and flux ripple during the steady state of the conventional direct torque control (DTC) of induction machines, the factors of influence torque variation are examined. A ...To elucidate the principles of notable torque and flux ripple during the steady state of the conventional direct torque control (DTC) of induction machines, the factors of influence torque variation are examined. A new torque ripple minimization algorithm is proposed. The novel method eradicated the torque ripple by imposing the required stator voltage vector in each control cycle. The M and T axial components of the stator voltage are accomplished by measuring the stator flux error and the expected incremental value of the torque at every sampling time. The maximum angle rotation allowed is obtained. Experimental results showed that the proposed method combined with the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) could be implemented in most existing digital drive controllers, offering high performance in both steady and transient states of the induction drives at full speed range. The result of the present work implies that torque fluctuation could be eliminated by imposing proper stator voltage, and the proposed scheme could not only maintain constant switching frequency for the inverter, but also solve the heating problem and current harmonics in traditional induction motor drives.展开更多

Th...Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) inverter-fed induction motor drives are most common in industrial applications. This paper aims at development of double boost converter for PWM inverter-fed three-phase induction motor. The inverter topology is designed with four switches. The proposed drive system has been simulated using Matlab/Simulink and the performance of has been assessed in terms of output voltage, output current, power factor and THD. From the simulation results, it is evident that the three-phase voltage waveforms of the proposed system are less distorted, with their currents being more sinusoidal. A comparative analysis has been made with the conventional six-switch inverter fed drive. The proposed system offered a THD of 1.84%, whereas for the conventional system it was 13.96%. These results inferred that the proposed double boost converter with four-switch based drive scheme exhibits superior performance.展开更多

文摘Compared with the traditional three-phase star connection winding,the open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motor(OW-PMSM)system with a common direct current(DC)bus has a zero-sequence circuit,which makes the common-mode voltage and the back electromotive force(EMF)harmonic generated by the inverters produce the zero-sequence current in the zero-sequence circuit,and the zero-sequence current has great influence on the operation efficiency and stability of the motor control system.A zero-sequence current suppression strategy is presented based on model predictive current control for OW-PMSM.Through the mathematical model of OW-PMSM to establish the predictive model and the zero-sequence circuit model,the common-mode voltage under different voltage vector combinations is fully considered during vector selection and action time calculation.Then zero-sequence loop constraints are established,so as to suppress the zero-sequence current.In the end,the control strategy proposed in this paper is verified by simulation experiments.
文摘It is justified that during geomagnetic storms the high voltage synchronous engines are being impacted by high current harmonics of even sequences powered by power transformer due to geo-induced high voltage currents flowed through the windings. Equivalent circuits of step down substation and HV synchronous motors are made for making it possible to consider a saturation of power transformer magnetic system and higher current harmonics availability in stator windings. Analytic expressions for higher current harmonics and extra capacity losses calculation in stator windings are received, as well as the calculation of induction torques allowing to denote a rate of geomagnetic processes impact on synchronous engine operation at various step down substation parameters.
文摘Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) inverter-fed induction motor drives are most common in industrial applications. This paper aims at development of double boost converter for PWM inverter-fed three-phase induction motor. The inverter topology is designed with four switches. The proposed drive system has been simulated using Matlab/Simulink and the performance of has been assessed in terms of output voltage, output current, power factor and THD. From the simulation results, it is evident that the three-phase voltage waveforms of the proposed system are less distorted, with their currents being more sinusoidal. A comparative analysis has been made with the conventional six-switch inverter fed drive. The proposed system offered a THD of 1.84%, whereas for the conventional system it was 13.96%. These results inferred that the proposed double boost converter with four-switch based drive scheme exhibits superior performance.
文摘In industries DC motor drives are very essential due to their high performance applications such as its reliability, ease of control, low cost and simplicity. And speed control of these motors is very easy due to power electronic AC-DC converters. These power electronic converters are with prominent low power factor and higher Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). These converters operate only for short time resulting non-sinusoidal waveform. This problem of harmonic distortion can be mitigated by reshaping the non-sinusoidal waveform to pure sine wave. Different wave shaping techniques have been developed by using different filters among which one is tuned passive filter. This paper proposed power factor improvement and harmonic mitigation of AC-DC converters based on separately excited DC motor using tuned passive filter. In this context experimental model is designed and results are analyzed by power quality analyzer.
