A conventional method is to control the equipment such that the temperature of hot water supply is maintained at a set-point that may be a fixed value or be compensated against the external temperature. This paper presents a novel scheme that can determine the optimal set-point of hot water supply that maximizes the energy efficiency whilst providing sufficient heating capacity to the load. The investigated heating system consists of an air source heat pump (ASHP) incorporated with a hot water tank as active Thermal Energy Storage (TES), where two optimization problems are integrated together to optimize both the ASHP electricity consumption and the building heating consumption utilizing a heat dynamic model of the building. Radiator thermal performance test equipment plays a key role in the processing of developing a new type of heat radiator and its application products.The precise of temperature controlling,temperature measuring andflow measuring are the vital factors for a radiator thermal performance test equipment.Based on the above back-ground,this paper improves the measurement and control system of radiator thermal performance test equip-ment,which improves the accuracy of the radiator thermal performance test equipment.This paper also optimizes the software and hardware system simultaneously so as to improve the precision of the auto-test system of test equipment.Theflow rate ranges from 175 kg/h to 178 kg/h under different conditions.The average is 176.5 kg/h and the deviation rates are from 1.62%to 1.97%.The heat produced under various conditions is different.The maximum is 4.3 kW and the minimum is 4.2 kW for condition 1,the maximum is 3.3 kW and the minimum is 3.2 kW for condition 2 and the maximum is 1.95 kW and the minimum is 1.89 kW for condition 3.However,the deviation rate is about 2.9%,which shows that the device has high stability and high precision.This paper studies a new electronic heat cost allocate meter test method by radiator thermal performance test equipment at the same time.This paper tests temperature changes through four measures points and gets a result appeared as a heat backup which should be avoided when using in the test of electronic heat cost allocate meter.Some experiences and references could be gained for further research in the heating system from this test and research. 展开更多

The article analyses the problem of determining the operating parameters of the district heating substation cooperating with the air heating system in technological air conditioning systems equipped with heat exchangers with high efficiency of heat recovery.Attention was paid to the correct selection of heat exchangers for the heat output balance depending on the heat recovery protection algorithms against a drop in the temperature of the heat transfer surface below 0℃.Critical parameters were determined in Polish climatic conditions,at which the operation of the heat recovery exchanger in the air conditioning system is switched off or limited.It has been proven that the proper functioning of the district heating substation cooperating with the installation of air conditioning with high heat recovery efficiency requires the use of two heat exchangers with different characteristics,equipped with properly selected temperature control systems.The optimal model of cooperation between the technological air conditioning system and the heating substation was also indicated. 展开更多

The increasing pace of urbanization means that cities and global organizations are looking for ways to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) systems have the potential to improve the energy generation efficiency of a city or urban region by providing energy for heating, cooling, and electricity simultaneously. The purpose of this study is to estimate the water consumption for energy generation use, carbon dioxide (CO2) and NOx emissions, and economic impact of implementing CCHP systems for five generic building types within the Atlanta metropolitan region, under various operational scenarios following the building thermal (heating and cooling) demands. Operating the CCHP system to follow the hourly thermal demand reduces CO2 emissions for most building types both with and without net metering. The system can be economically beneficial for all building types depending on the price of natural gas, the implementation of net metering, and the cost structure assumed for the CCHP system. The greatest reduction in water consumption for energy production and NOx emissions occurs when there is net metering and when the system is operated to meet the maximum yearly thermal demand, although this scenario also results in an increase in greenhouse gas emissions and, in some cases, cost. CCHP systems are more economical for medium office, large office, and multifamilv residential buildings. 展开更多

This study deals with the high-risk shell-and-tube heat exchangers in the effluent system of hydrogenation reaction of the petrochemical industry.The process of hydroprocessing reactor effluent system is simulated in Aspen Plus to study the distribution of corrosive medium in the three phases of oil,gas and water.The least-squares method is utilized to calculate the ammonium salt crystallization temperature.Then,the heat exchanger with risk of ammonium salt crystal corrosion is identified.Dynamic mathematical modeling of the heat exchanger is established to determine the transfer function.A temperature control system with proportional integral derivative(PID)control of the heat exchanger outlet is designed,and fuzzy logic is used to implement self-tuning of PID parameters.After MATLAB simulation,the results show the control system can achieve rapid control of the heat exchanger outlet temperature. 展开更多

Application of magnetic flux controllers/concentrators to induction heating coils can drastically improve the process efficiency and heat pattern control. Presentation includes: benefits provided by flux controllers, materials available for controllers, application techniques, computer assisted design of induction coils with concentrators, examples of applications. Depending on induction system design, magnetic flux controllers can concentrate heating in a specified area, change heat source distribution and shield a particular part zone or external area preventing unintended eddy current heating. Besides of the coil efficiency improvement and optimal power distribution, magnetic flux controllers reduce the coil current demand from a supplying circuitry thus strongly reducing losses in busswork, cables, transformers and inverter components. Improvement that can be achieved due to magnetic flux controllers is case dependable. 2D and 3D computer simulation allows the designer to predict accurately effect of controllers on the coil parameters and temperature distribution and optimize the whole electromagnetic system. Special attention in presentation is paid to new magnetodielectric materials optimized for induction heating conditions. These materials have high magnetic permeability and saturation flux density, excellent machinability, good chemical and temperature resistance. Concentrators from these materials can work in a wide range of frequencies and specific powers. Examples of magnetic flux controller application include surface hardening of shafts and gears, induction surface hardfacing and brazing. 展开更多

To solve this problem and consequently to prolong its service life, a multi-step-heating-rate(MSRC) process was carried out. Investigations were carried out to find the effect of the MSRC process on the alloys corrosion resistance. It is found that the MSRC process is more favorable for the uniform phase precipitation by comparing the corrosion resistance of samples treated by traditional heat treatments. The potential difference between phases can be reduced and intergranular corrosion is able to be prohibited efficiently. Besides, the rare earth infiltration is beneficial to improving the corrosion resistance. As heating time increases, the corrosion resistance declines gradually, samples treated by artificial aging and solid solution also exhibit a better corrosion resistance. 展开更多

Owing to the development of new products and higher requirement of product properties, the current existing induction heating technology of Baosteel can no longer satisfy the new requirements of the product line. Control of the induction heating temperature to an appropriate value is a key consideration in induction heating technology. To obtain acculturated temperatures, investigations were focused on the parameters of an induction heating system, including those of induction heating equipment and heating processes. In these investigations, computer simulation was used to model the induction heating process, followed by physical experimentation to verify and improve the simulation model; finally, optimized induction heating parameters were suggested. The use of computer simulations dramatically decreased physical experimental times, and the computed heating parameters were used to guide the physical experimentation and design of the product line ; this increased the efficiency of subsequent investigations. This study focuses on the development of induction heating technology in Baosteel, which includes the overall induction heating technology used in manufacturing backup rollers and in the thermomechanical control process. 展开更多
