Purpose-It is quite universal for high-speed turnouts to be exposed to the wear of the stock rail of the switch rail during the service process.The wear will cause the change of railhead profile and the relative posit...Purpose-It is quite universal for high-speed turnouts to be exposed to the wear of the stock rail of the switch rail during the service process.The wear will cause the change of railhead profile and the relative positions of the switch rail and the stock rail,which will directly affect the wheel-rail contact state and wheel load transition when a train passes the turnout and will further impose serious impacts on the safety and stability of train operation.The purpose of this paper is to provide suggestions for wear management of high-speed turnout.Design/methodology/approach-The actual wear characteristics of switch rails of high-speed turnouts in different guiding directions were studied based on the monitoring results on site;the authorized wear limits for the switch rails of high-speed turnout were studied through derailment risk analysis and switch rail strength analysis.Findings-The results show that:the major factor for the service life of a curved switch rail is the lateral wear.The wear characteristics of the curved switch rail of a facing turnout are significantly different from those of a trailing turnout.To be specific,the lateral wear of the curved switch rail mainly occurs in the narrower section at its front end for a trailing turnout,but in the wider section at its rear end when for a facing turnout.The maximum lateral wear of a dismounted switch rail from a trailing turnout is found on the 15-mm wide section and is 3.9 mm,which does not reach the specified limit of 6 mm.For comparison,the lateral wear of a dismounted switch rail from a facing turnout is found from the 35-mm wide section to the full-width section and is greater than 7.5 mm,which exceeds the specified limit.Based on this,in addition to meeting the requirements of maintenance rules,the allowed wear of switch rails of high-speed turnout shall be so that the dangerous area with a tangent angle of wheel profile smaller than 43.68 will not contact the switch rail when the wheel is lifted by 2 mm.Accordingly,the lateral wear limit at the 5-mm wide section of the curved switch rail shall be reduced from 6 mm(as specified)to 3.5 mm.Originality/value-The work in this paper is of reference significance to the research on the development law of rail wear in high-speed turnout area and the formulation of relevant standards.展开更多

A simplified HSS setup is designed to support this work. A two-dimensional arc model is developed to analyze the characteristics of fault arc based on magnetic-hydrodynamic (MHD) theory. The advantage of such a model is that the thermal transfer coefficient can be determined by depending on the numerical method alone. The influence of net emission coefficients (NEC) radiation model and P1 model on fault arc is analyzed in detail. Results show that NEC model predicts more radiation energy and less pressure rise without the re-absorption effect considered. As a consequence, P1 model is more suitable to calculate the pressure rise caused by fault arc. Finally, the pressure rise during longer arcing time for different arc currents is predicted.展开更多
Novel centralized base station architectures integrating computation and communication functionalities have become important for the development of future mobile communication networks.Therefore,the development of dyn...Novel centralized base station architectures integrating computation and communication functionalities have become important for the development of future mobile communication networks.Therefore,the development of dynamic high-speed interconnections between baseband units(BBUs)and remote radio heads(RRHs)is vital in centralized base station design.Herein,dynamic high-speed switches(HSSs)connecting BBUs and RRHs were designed for a centralized base station architecture.We analyzed the characteristics of actual traffic and introduced a switch traffic model suitable for the super base station architecture.Then,we proposed a data-priority-aware(DPA)scheduling algorithm based on the traffic model.Lastly,we developed the dynamic HSS model based on the OPNET platform and the prototype based on FPGA.Our results show that the DPA achieves close to 100%throughput with lower latency and provides better run-time complexity than iOCF and HE-iSLIP,thereby demonstrating that the proposed switch system can be adopted in centralized base station architectures.展开更多

A 500 kV high-voltage AC fault current limiter(FCL)based on a high coupled split reactor(HCSR)is pro-posed by the National key R&D project team.Low impedance under normal conditions and high impedance under short-...A 500 kV high-voltage AC fault current limiter(FCL)based on a high coupled split reactor(HCSR)is pro-posed by the National key R&D project team.Low impedance under normal conditions and high impedance under short-circuit conditions are accomplished by the cooperation of HCSR and high-speed switches.High-speed switches play an important role in current limiting processes,thus interruption characteristics of the high-speed switch in the 500 kV FCL are studied in this paper.The simulation model of the FCL and the external equivalent power grid are established.The short-circuit current and recovery voltage characteristics of the high-speed switch in FCL are simulated.The results show that maximum DC component of the short-circuit current of the high-speed switch reaches 91%,the maximum peak value is 118 kA,and the longest arcing time is 14.8 ms.There is a discontinuity in the curve of the short-circuit current peak and arcing time as a function of the short-circuit occurrence time;the peak recovery voltage of a single break of the high-speed switch has a maximum value of 87.5 kV under a three-phase ungrounded short-circuit condition,and the rate of rise of recovery voltage is o.22 kV/s.The recovery voltage peak shows a period change with the short-circuit occurrence time,and the period is 10 ms.The effects of the shunt capacitor value and short-circuit ground resistance on the recovery voltage of high-speed switching are also studied.The research can be used for reference by R&D personnel and testersof500kVFCLs.Index Terms-Fault current limiter(FCL),high coupled split reactor(HCSR),high-speed switch,interruption characteristics,short circuit current.展开更多

The objective of the proposed scheme is to reduce the overall burst loss in the network and at the same time to avoid the packet out-of-sequence arrival problem. Simulations are carried out to assess the feasibility of the proposed scheme. Its performance is compared with that of contention resolution schemes based on conventional routing. Through extensive simulations, it is shown that the proposed scheme not only provides significantly better burst loss performance than the basic equal proportion and hop-length based traffic routing algorithms, but also is void of any packet re-orderings.展开更多

How- ever, the application and nonlinearity of the pneumatic system limit the advance. On the basis of the swimming mechanism of the frog, a frog-inspired robot based on pneumatic muscles is developed. To realize the indepen- dent tasks by the robot, a pneumatic system with internal chambers, micro air pump, and valves is implemented. The micro pump is used to maintain the pressure difference between the source and exhaust chambers. The pneumatic muscles are controlled by high-speed switch valves which can reduce the robot cost, volume, and mass. A dynamic model of the pneumatic system is established for the sim- ulation to estimate the system, including the chamber, muscle, and pneumatic circuit models. The robot design is verified by the robot swimming experiments and the dynamic model is verified through the experiments and simulations of the pneumatic system. The simulation results are compared to analyze the functions of the source pressure, internal volume of the muscle, and circuit flow rate which is proved the main factor that limits the response of muscle pressure. The proposed research provides the application of the pneumatic muscles in the frog inspired robot and the pneumatic model to study muscle controller.展开更多

First, a switching system model is introduced to describe the new dynamics in high-speed electric train, which considers the extended range of speed, the energy efficiency and the regenerative brake. Based on the new model, the optimal driving strategy with minimal-energy consumption is studied, and the problem is boiled down to optimal control for switching systems. Using a numerical algorithm, a three-stage driving strategy is concluded, in which the traditional quasi-coasting stage is discarded and the maximal traction and brake are not suitable anymore. Two-stage directional valves usually employ proportional pilot control technology,which has the disadvantages of dead zones,leakage,and the large moving mass of the pilot valve.It is difficult,therefore,to achieve fas...Two-stage directional valves usually employ proportional pilot control technology,which has the disadvantages of dead zones,leakage,and the large moving mass of the pilot valve.It is difficult,therefore,to achieve fast-response performance of the main valve.In order to overcome this problem,a switching pilot technology that employs two independent high-speed on/off valves(HSVs)is proposed to replace the traditional pilot proportional valve.Due to the rapid switching characteristics of HSVs,the dead zone of the pilot stage is avoided,and the dynamic response performance of the main valve is improved.The experiments indicate that the switching frequency of the pilot HSVs and supply pressure of the pilot stage have a very large effect on the dynamic performance and control accuracy of the main valve.Increasing the switching frequency of the pilot HSVs is helpful for improving main-valve control accuracy.The larger supply pressure of the pilot stage can achieve a faster dynamic performance of the main valve while causing larger static errors.The results show that the switching pilot technology can clearly improve the static and dynamic performances of the main valve.With the increase of pilot supply pressure,the step rise time is reduced from 21.4 ms to 16.8 ms,and the dynamic performance of the main valve is improved by 21.5%.With the increase of pilot switching frequency,the steady-state error decreases from 24μm to 20μm,and the control accuracy of the main valve is improved by 16.7%.展开更多

Furthermore, a novel multiple-β transistor and the linear AND-OR gate, which is composed of the transistor, are investigated. Super high-speed characteristic and multiple-cascade capability of the linear AND-OR gate are verified by PSPICE simulation. Based on the analysis of high-speed switch, which is compatible with the linear AND-OR gate, a high-speed inverter is proposed, which is composed of multiple-β transistors. The corresponding flip-flop design is also given. Finally, the criterion for using linear AND-OR gate to design high-speed switching circuits are presented. Some combinational and sequential circuits are designed as the practical examples. Discussion indicates that the switching circuits based on multiple-β transistor can be applied in high-speed design field.展开更多

The turbo-switch was explored from the fundamental carrier dynamics in SOAs for the purpose of further increasing its operation speed. An integrated turbo-switch was also been proposed and demonstrated, where a phase adjustable Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) was applied as an optical band-pass filter between SOAs. Wavelength conversion was first demonstrated at 84.8 Gbit/s using the integrated turbo-switch.展开更多

文摘When using traditional drive circuits,the enhancement-mode GaN(eGaN)HEMT will be affected by high switching speed characteristics and parasitic parameters leading to worse crosstalk problems.Currently,the existing crosstalk suppression drive circuits often have the disadvantages of increased switching loss,control complexity,and overall electromagnetic interference(EMI).Therefore,this paper combines the driving loop impedance control and the active Miller clamp method to propose an improved active Miller clamp drive circuit.First,the crosstalk mechanism is analyzed,and the crosstalk voltage model is established.Through the crosstalk voltage evaluation platform,the influencing factors are evaluated experimentally.Then,the operating principle of the improved active Miller clamp drive circuit is discussed,and the optimized parameter design method is given.Finally,the effect of the improved active Miller clamp method for suppressing crosstalk is experimentally verified.The crosstalk voltage was suppressed from 3.5 V and-3.5 V to 1 V and-1.3 V,respectively,by the improved circuit.

文摘In order to solve the problem of vibration bounce caused by the contact between moving and stationary contacts in the process of switching on,two-degree-of-freedom motion differential equation of the contact system is established.Genetic algorithm is used to optimize the pull in process of AC contactor.The whole process of contact bounce was observed and analyzed by high-speed photography experiment.The theory and experimental results were very similar.The iron core has collided before the contact is separated,which further aggravates the contact bounce.When the iron core bounces collided again,the bounce of the contact was not affected.During the operation of the contactor,the movement of the moving iron core will cause slight vibration of the system.The contact bounce time and the maximum amplitude are reduced.The research results provide a theoretical basis for further control and reduction of contact bounce.
文摘This paper reviews recent developments in digital switched hydraulics particularly the switched inertance hydraulic systems (SIHSs). The performance of SIHSs is presented in brief with a discussion of several possible configurations and control strategies. The soft switching technology and high-speed switching valve design techniques are discussed. Challenges and recommendations are given based on the current research achievements.

文摘Two-stage directional valves usually employ proportional pilot control technology,which has the disadvantages of dead zones,leakage,and the large moving mass of the pilot valve.It is difficult,therefore,to achieve fast-response performance of the main valve.In order to overcome this problem,a switching pilot technology that employs two independent high-speed on/off valves(HSVs)is proposed to replace the traditional pilot proportional valve.Due to the rapid switching characteristics of HSVs,the dead zone of the pilot stage is avoided,and the dynamic response performance of the main valve is improved.The experiments indicate that the switching frequency of the pilot HSVs and supply pressure of the pilot stage have a very large effect on the dynamic performance and control accuracy of the main valve.Increasing the switching frequency of the pilot HSVs is helpful for improving main-valve control accuracy.The larger supply pressure of the pilot stage can achieve a faster dynamic performance of the main valve while causing larger static errors.The results show that the switching pilot technology can clearly improve the static and dynamic performances of the main valve.With the increase of pilot supply pressure,the step rise time is reduced from 21.4 ms to 16.8 ms,and the dynamic performance of the main valve is improved by 21.5%.With the increase of pilot switching frequency,the steady-state error decreases from 24μm to 20μm,and the control accuracy of the main valve is improved by 16.7%.

文摘By using comparison operations, three basic operations, AND, OR and NOT, in Boolean algebra are re-defined Based on the characteristic that the voltage signals are easy to implement comparison operation, various logic functions realized by connecting emitters of the bipolar transistor are analyzed. Furthermore, a novel multiple-β transistor and the linear AND-OR gate, which is composed of the transistor, are investigated. Super high-speed characteristic and multiple-cascade capability of the linear AND-OR gate are verified by PSPICE simulation. Based on the analysis of high-speed switch, which is compatible with the linear AND-OR gate, a high-speed inverter is proposed, which is composed of multiple-β transistors. The corresponding flip-flop design is also given. Finally, the criterion for using linear AND-OR gate to design high-speed switching circuits are presented. Some combinational and sequential circuits are designed as the practical examples. Discussion indicates that the switching circuits based on multiple-β transistor can be applied in high-speed design field.

文摘All-optical effectively increase the semiconductor optical recovery time or the high-speed turbo-switches can switching speed using cascaded amplifiers (SOAs). The overall bandwidth of turbo-switch was numerically analyzed with time-domain and frequency-domain SOA models. The turbo-switch was explored from the fundamental carrier dynamics in SOAs for the purpose of further increasing its operation speed. An integrated turbo-switch was also been proposed and demonstrated, where a phase adjustable Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) was applied as an optical band-pass filter between SOAs. Wavelength conversion was first demonstrated at 84.8 Gbit/s using the integrated turbo-switch.
