The results showed that the project of "planting three to produce four" performed significantly in terms of increasing yields and incomes. For example, per unit area yield of one-season late hybrid rice and middleseason hybrid rice proved the highest, and net income from middle-season rice in Longhui was the highest. It is obvious that to increase per unit yield is key for improving net incomes and to reduce machine fees and worker fees is crucial for decreasing fees.展开更多

A multi-location investigation was carried out in 2008 and 2009 in 13 counties to determine if increased planting population density (PPD) would break the stagnant yield. The results showed that significant differences among the fields existed in theoretical yield, PPD, and bolls per square meter (BPM). The lowest yield of 1 641.1 kg ha-I was resulted from the lowest PPD of 1.7 plants m-2 and the lowest BPM of 71.8 bolls m-2, while the highest yield of 2 779.7 kg ha-~ was resulted from the highest PPD of 2.5 plants m-2, and the highest BPM of 129.4 bolls m-z. Plant mapping revealed that boll retention rate (BRR) was maintained over 30 or 40% for the first 17-18 fruiting branches (FBs) and decreased dramatically thereafter, rotten boll rate (RBR) decreased, but open boll rate (OBR) rose first and dropped later with rising FB from the bottom to the top. But BRR, RBR, and OBR were all dropped with the fruiting positions (FPs) extending outwards. The optimum range of plant density would be 2-3 plants m-2 and the proper individual plant structure would be 16-19 FBs with 5-7 FPs for cotton production in Hubei Province.展开更多

Using a randomized block design, different soybean cultivars from the same latitude were compared under conventional and unconventional treatments for their production characteristics, including morphological traits, leaf area index (LAI), net photosynthesis rate, and dry matter accumulation. The specific characteristics of the super high-yielding soybean cultivar Liaodou 14 were analyzed. The results showed that the plant height of Liaodou 14 was significantly lower than that of the common cultivars from Liaoning, whereas the number of its main-stem nodes was higher than that of the cultivars from Ohio or Liaoning. A high pod density was observed in Liaodou 14 under conventional treatments. Under both conventional and unconventional treatments, the branch number of Liaodou 14 was markedly higher than that of the common cultivars from Liaoning, and its branch length and leaf inclination angle were significantly higher than those of common cultivars from Liaoning or Ohio. Only small changes in the leaf inclination angle were observed in Liaodou 14 treated with conventional or unconventional methods. Under each treatment, Liaodou 14 exhibited the lowest amplitude of reduction in SPAD values and net photosynthesis rates from the grain-filling to ripening stages; the cultivars from Ohio and the common cultivars from Liaoning exhibited more significant reductions. Liaodou 14 reached its peak LAI later than the other cultivars but maintained its LAI at a higher level for a longer duration. Under both conventional and unconventional treatments, Liaodou 14 produced a higher yield than the other two cultivars, with significant differences from the Ohio cultivars. In summary, super high-yielding soybean cultivars have several main features: suitable plant height, high pod density, good leaf structure with strong functionality, and slow leaf senescence at the late reproductive stage, which is conducive to the accumulation of dry matter and improved yield.展开更多

[Methed] This survey was carried out in two demonstration bases, one for investigating the relationship between different cultivated varieties with growth and production, the other for investigating the relationship between different planting densities with growth and production. [Result] For different cultivated varieties, Cenruan 2 showed tree height, ground diameter and crown product significantly higher than other two varieties, besides, the per unit area fruit yield of Cenruan 2 was also significantly higher than other two varieties. From flower bud differentiation, the best variety was Changlin 4, which showed number of differentiated flower buds significantly higher than Changlin 27, but there were no significant differences between Cenruan 2 with Changlin 4 and Changlin 27. For different planting densities, plant height and crown product at planting density of 1.5 m×2 m were significantly higher than those of other two planting densities, but from ground diam- eter, the best planting density was 1.5 m×1.0 m, with a ground diameter significantly higher than other two planting densities. From per unit area fruit yield, the best planting density was 1.5 m×2.0 m, under which early plant growth and fruit production were better. Therefore, the best planting density is 2.0 m ×3.0 m when constructing early-bearing high-yielding model plantations. For variety Cenruan 3, it's fruit production is high in the early pedod, and the best planting density is 1.5 m× 2.0 m or 1.0 m×1.5 m when constructing early-bearing high-yielding model plantations, and after 4-6 years when it put into production, the plants could be transplanted.展开更多

[Method] Field experiment was conducted to study on effects of different N fertilizers on yield, N absorption and use efficiency of Zhengdan 958 and Xundan 20, in order to learn the effect differences at different N fertilizer levels. [Result] After N was applied, yields of the two summer maize increased significantly. Zhengdan 958 achieved the highest in yield and proceeds at 12 051.18 kg/hm2 and 1 722.40 yuan/hm2, respectively in low N level. In contrast, Xundan 20 achieved the highest at 13 166.00 kg/hm2 and 1 343.92 yuan/hm2 in the above two aspects in high N level. Compared with Zhengdan 958, Xundan 20 increased by 9.90%, 5.20% and 12.00% in N levels of 0, 240, and 450 kg/hm2, respectively. When N fertilizers were applied, protein yield of Xundan 20 was significantly higher than that of Zhengdan 958, so that higher N fertilizers contributed higher protein yield for Xundan 20. In high N level, N efficiency, N-fertilizer utilization and partial productivity of Xundan 20 were significantly higher than that of Zhengdan 958. [Conclusion] Lower N-fertilizer was suitable for Zhengdan 958 and Xundan 20 would get a good harvest if more N-fertilizers were applied. The results provided references for reasonable N fertilization.展开更多

[Method] Evolvement of rice planting methods in rice producing areas in China and in representative rice-growth countries abroad, its characteristics, adaptability and key issues were analyzed. [Result] The analysis of development of rice planting method in China and abroad indicated that rice planting method was adapted to rice-based cropping system and ecological environment, and its transition accompanied with social and economic development. With agricultural labor transfer from agriculture to other industries since 1990’s, rice seedling throwing was gradually applied and in recent decades, while direct seeding and machine transplanting were practiced. Now, hand transplanting is still the main rice planting method, adopted in 50% of national rice planting area; seedling throwing, direct seeding and machine transplanting are conducted in 25% , 12% and 13% of the national rice planting area. [Conclusion] Machine transplanting should be a leading rice planting method. Though area covered with machine direct seeding is still small up to now, it can be practiced in some rice growing area due to labor saving and low cost. Leading planting methods and its supporting key technologies are proposed in various rice producing areas in the future.展开更多

[Method] Two rapeseed cultivars, Ningza 19 and Ningza 21, with certain pod-cracking resistance, were employed in field experiments. The two-factor split plot design and randomized complete block design were adopted. The rapeseed seeds were directly sowed with four different seeding rates (1.50, 2.25, 3.00 and 3.75 kg/hm2). A total of four treatments were designed (112 500, 225 000, 337 500 and 450 000 plants/hm2). After ripe, the rapeseed was harvested with harvester. Then the yield and harvesting loss rate were determined. [Result] When the planting density ranged from 112 500 to 450 000 plants/hm2, the mechanical harvesting loss rate was decreased with the increase of planting density (Ningza 19, 7.54%-4.01%; Ningza 21, 7.19%-3.81%). The total loss rates were all below 5% for the high plant densities, 337 500 and 450 000 plants/hm2. High planting density had certain regulating effects on plant type of rapeseed, including reducing plant height, reducing biomass per plant, reducing branch pod numbers per plant, weakening crossing and tangling among stems and improving ripening uniformity of pods. All the changes above were all conducive to reducing mechanical harvesting loss. In addition, the test results showed after the pods grew to maturity, especially when pods were yellow and the moisture content in grains was reduced to 11%, the mechanical harvesting loss only accounted for about 1% of the total field loss. In addition, the shattering loss, caused by mild col- lision, represented more than 90%, and the cleaning loss, occurred during the threshing and cleaning process, represented 4%-8% of the total field loss. The un- harvesting loss accounted for approximately 1% of the total loss. The shattering loss is closely related to cultivar characteristics, planting density, production level and other agronomic factors. The cleaning loss is determined by properties of harvesting machines. The unharvesting loss depends on mechanical properties ad skills of workers or farmers who drive harvesting machines. [Conclusion] In order to reduce mechanical harvesting loss, the rapeseed production should be improved from the perspectives of agricultural machinery and agronomic measures.展开更多

[Method] The starch-oriented Jishu No.21 and raw-eating oriented Jishu No.22 were studied to explore effects of planting density on yield and sink and source characteristics of sweet potato. [IRe- suit] Leaf area index of Jishu No.21 and Jishu No.22 were increasing upon planting density. Leaf area index of the same planting density showed a single-peak curve. Specifically, leaf area index grew fast during the 40th-80th d after planting, and reached the peak on the 80th d after planting, followed by decreasing. What's more, ventilation and sunshine transmission both declined upon planting density, as well as the number of leaf, the number of branch, the length of vine, dry and fresh weights of stem and leaf. When planting density exceeded 75 000 plants/hm2, the yield of sweet potato dropped dramatically. Besides, the optimal planting density tended to be volatile upon cultivars. For example, the range of 45 000-60 000 plants/hm2 is the optimal planting density of Jishu No.21 and the range of 60 000-75 000 plants/hm2 is the optimal planting density of Jishu No.22. [Conclusion] It can be concluded that rational planting densities would well coordinate sweet potato growth of ground parts and underground parts to get a high yield by providing a rational group structure. Considering the optimal planting density differs upon cultivars, it is necessary to take genotype, environment, soil fertility and planting density into consideration in determining planting density.展开更多

文摘Cotton yield per unit ground area has stagnated for a dozen years in Hubei Province, China, although a series of new high- yielding varieties have been commercialized. The optimum range of plant density would be 2-3 plants m-2 and the proper individual plant structure would be 16-19 FBs with 5-7 FPs for cotton production in Hubei Province.

文摘Super high-yielding soybean cultivar Liaodou 14, soybean cultivars from Ohio in the United States, and the common soybean cultivars from Liaoning Province, China, with similar geographic latitudes and identical pod-bearing habits were used as the study materials for a comparison of morphological traits and production characteristics to provide a theoretical basis for the breeding of improved super high-yielding soybean cultivars. In summary, super high-yielding soybean cultivars have several main features: suitable plant height, high pod density, good leaf structure with strong functionality, and slow leaf senescence at the late reproductive stage, which is conducive to the accumulation of dry matter and improved yield.

文摘This study aimed to address the challenge of accurately and reliably detecting tomatoes in dense planting environments,a critical prerequisite for the automation implementation of robotic harvesting. However, the heavy reliance on extensive manually annotated datasets for training deep learning models still poses significant limitations to their application in real-world agricultural production environments. To overcome these limitations,we employed domain adaptive learning approach combined with the YOLOv5 model to develop a novel tomato detection model called as TDA-YOLO(tomato detection domain adaptation). We designated the normal illumination scenes in dense planting environments as the source domain and utilized various other illumination scenes as the target domain. To construct bridge mechanism between source and target domains, neural preset for color style transfer is introduced to generate a pseudo-dataset,which served to deal with domain discrepancy.Furthermore, this study combines the semi-supervised learning method to enable the model to extract domain-invariant features more fully, and uses knowledge distillation to improve the model's ability to adapt to the target domain.Additionally, for purpose of promoting inference speed and low computational demand, the lightweight FasterNet network was integrated into the YOLOv5's C3 module, creating a modified C3_Faster module. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed TDA-YOLO model significantly outperformed original YOLOv5s model, achieving a mAP(mean average precision)of 96.80%for tomato detection across diverse scenarios in dense planting environments, increasing by 7.19 percentage points;Compared with the latest YOLOv8 and YOLOv9,it is also 2.17 and 1.19 percentage points higher, respectively. The model's average detection time per image was an impressive 15 milliseconds, with a FLOPs(floating point operations per second)count of 13.8 G.After acceleration processing, the detection accuracy of the TDA-YOLO model on the Jetson Xavier NX development board is 90.95%,the mAP value is 91.35%,and the detection time of each image is 21 ms,which can still meet the requirements of real-time detection of tomatoes in dense planting environment. The experimental results show that the proposed TDA-YOLO model can accurately and quickly detect tomatoes in dense planting environment, and at the same time avoid the use of a large number of annotated data, which provides technical support for the development of automatic harvesting systems for tomatoes and other fruits.

文摘[Objective] This study was conducted to screen the best variety and optimum planting density for constructing early-bearing high-yielding model plantation of Camellia oleifera. For variety Cenruan 3, it's fruit production is high in the early pedod, and the best planting density is 1.5 m× 2.0 m or 1.0 m×1.5 m when constructing early-bearing high-yielding model plantations, and after 4-6 years when it put into production, the plants could be transplanted.
文摘Sorghum(Sorghum bicolor L.Moench)is an essential food crop for more than 750 million people in tropical and sub-tropical dry climates of Africa,India, and Latin America. The domestic sorghum market in Indonesia is still limited to the eastern region(East Nusa Tenggara,West Nusa Tenggara,Java, and South Sulawesi). Therefore,it is crucial to carry out sorghum research on drylands. This research aimed to investigate the effect of sorghum genotype and planting distance and their interaction toward growth and sorghum’s productivity in the Gunungkidul dryland,Yogyakarta,Indonesia. In addition, the farm business analysis, including the feasibility of sorghum farming, was also examined. The research used a randomized complete block design(RCBD),arranged in a 5×4 factorial with 3 replicates. The first treatment consisted of 5 varieties(2 high-yielding varieties(Bioguma 1 and Kawali)and 3 local sorghum varieties(Plonco,Ketan Merah, and Hitam Wareng)).The second treatment consisted of 4 levels of planting distance, namely 50×20 cm,60×20 cm,70×15 cm,and 70×20×20 cm.Analysis of variance was used to analyze the data, where Duncan’s multiple range test(DMRT)was used post hoc.Plant height, panicle height, panicle width, panicle weight, stover weight, grains weight/plot,and productivity were significantly affected by sorghum varieties(p<0.05).However,there was no significant effect from the planting distance treatment and no interaction between planting distance and varietal treatments.Ketan Merah had the highest height, panicle length, and panicle width, while Bioguma 1 had the highest stover weight, panicle weight, grain weight/plot,and productivity. There was a significant linear regression equation,i.e.,productivity=0.0054–0.0003 panicle height+0.4163 grains weight/plot.Our findings on farm business analysis suggested that four out of five tested sorghum varieties were feasible to grow, except for the Ketan Merah variety. The most economically profitable sorghum variety to grow in Gunungkidul dryland was Bioguma 1.

文摘In artificially controlled pot experiments, perennial ryegrass was mixed with other leguminous plants(white clo-ver and alfalfa)and treated with lead, zinc and cadmium(337 mg·kg^(-1),648 mg·kg^(-1),and 9 mg·kg^(-1),respectively)to simulate compound pollution conditions. The results showed that the concentrations of heavy metals,trans-port factors, and bioconcentration factors in mixed planting of ryegrass decreased compared with those in mono-culture.Regardless of whether heavy metal pollution was introduced, mixed planting increased the aboveground and underground biomasses of ryegrass. The different mixed planting treatments had no significant impact on the chlorophyll concentration of ryegrass. The mowing time, mixed planting treatment, and heavy metal treatment had impacts on antioxidant and osmotic adjustment substances, and there were some interactions. The mixed planting treatment did not significantly affect glutathione concentration, cysteine concentration,or nonprotein thiol.Mixed planting generally increased the nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations of ryegrass while reducing the stoichiometric ratio of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus. These results suggest that the mixed planting of ryegrass with legumes promotes the growth of ryegrass in the presence of high concentrations of heavy metal pollution. However,it does not enhance the ability of ryegrass to remediate heavy metal pollution in the soil.

文摘Lessons learned from past experiences push for an alternate way of crop production. In India, adopting high density planting system(HDPS)to boost cotton yield is becoming a growing trend.HDPS has recently been considered a replacement for the current Indian production system. It is also suitable for mechanical harvesting, which reducing labour costs, increasing input use efficiency, timely harvesting timely, maintaining cotton quality, and offering the potential to increase productivity and profitability. This technology has become widespread in globally cotton growing regions.Water management is critical for the success of high density cotton planting.Due to the problem of freshwater availability, more crops should be produced per drop of water. In the high-density planting system, optimum water application is essential to control excessive vegetative growth and improve the translocation of photoassimilates to reproductive organs.Deficit irrigation is a tool to save water without compromising yield. At the same time,it consumes less water than the normal evapotranspiration of crops. This review comprehensively documents the importance of growing cotton under a high-density planting system with deficit irrigation.Based on the current research and combined with cotton production reality, this review discusses the application and future development of deficit irrigation, which may provide theoretical guidance for the sustainable advancement of cotton planting systems.

文摘Understanding the photosynthetic characteristics of high-yield soybean[Glycine max(L.)Merr]cultivar(HYC)would aid research aiming at investigating the soybean high yield formation mechanism and optimization of cultivation system. To assess the photosynthesis of HYC,a pot experiment was conducted to quantify the differences in photosynthetic characteristics between HYC and common-yield soybean cultivar(CC)under different planting densities, fertilization rates, and single/mixed planting patterns. The leaf greenness(Lg),net photosynthetic rate(Ph),stomatal conductance(St)and transpiration rate(Tr)were significantly higher in HYC than CC mainly in seed-filling stages.HYC was more tolerant to dense and mixed planting because the decreases of Ph and St under high planting density and those of Ph,St,and Tr under mixed planting were lower in HYC than CC.The Lg and Ph in HYC were more superior to those in CC at high fertilization rate. Thus, the HYC has a superior performance in photosynthetic characteristics under the varied cultivation practices, which may contribute to the greater seed yield in HYC than CC.

文摘[Objective] The aim was to study on effects of N fertilizer on yield, N absorption and utilization of different cultivars of super high-yielding summer maize, in order to provide reference for reasonable N fertilization in accordance with different cultivars. The results provided references for reasonable N fertilization.

文摘[Objective] This paper aimed to clarify the rice planting methods and its supporting technology to be developed in rice producing areas in China. Leading planting methods and its supporting key technologies are proposed in various rice producing areas in the future.

文摘[Objective] This study aimed to explore agronomical measures to reduce the mechanical harvesting loss of rapeseed. [Conclusion] In order to reduce mechanical harvesting loss, the rapeseed production should be improved from the perspectives of agricultural machinery and agronomic measures.

文摘[Objective] The aim was to resolve the issue of sparsely planting (37 500-40 500 plants/hm2) of sweet potato in hilly areas. Considering the optimal planting density differs upon cultivars, it is necessary to take genotype, environment, soil fertility and planting density into consideration in determining planting density.

文摘[Objective] The experiment was conducted to explore the suitable planting density and nitrogen amount for summer maize in Sichuan Basin with the objective to provide technical reservation and scientific basis for high-yielding cultivation technique.[Method] A widely planted maize cultivar 'Chengdan 30' was used as experimental material to study the effects of planting density and nitrogen amount on the stalk agronomic traits, stalk lodging-resistance mechanical characters, stalk breaking percentage and yield of maize.Experiment was arranged in a two-factor split plot design with three replicates. The planting density was the main factor with three density gradients(4.5×10^4,6.0×10^4 and 7.5×10^4 plants/hm^2) and the nitrogen amount was the second factor with two different levels of nitrogen content(300 and 375 kg/hm^2).[Result] The stalk lodging-resistance and yield were affected by planting density significantly. The increase of planting density would result in an increase of internode length and decrease of internode diameter, dry matter weight of per unit stalk length, rind penetration strength and breaking resistance of 3rd and 4th basal internodes. When planting density increased from 6.0×10^4 plants/hm2 to 7.5×10^4 plants/hm^2,the stalk breaking percentage in the whole growing season increased by 17.17%,and the yield reduced by 17.58%.The interaction between planting density and nitrogen amount affected the stalk breaking percentage in the whole growing season and yield significantly. The treatment with planting density of 6.0×104 plants/hm^2 and nitrogen amount of 375 kg/hm^2 of pure N was an optimal combination, which may not only control the stalk breaking percentage of whole growing stage effectively, but also could obtain an optimum grain yield.[Conclusion] In Sichuan Basin, the appropriate planting density and nitrogen amount for summer maize were 6.0×10^4 plants/hm^2 and 375 kg/hm^2.
