This paper considers a fault-tolerant decentralized H-infinity control problem for multi-channel linear time-invariant systems. The purpose is to design a decentralized H-infinity output feedback controller to.stabilize the given system and achieve a certain H-infinity performance requirement both in the normal situation and in the situation where any one of the local controllers fails. The designed problem is reduced to a feasibility problem of a set of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). An algorithm is proposed to solve the BMIs. First, the normal situation is considered where all the local controllers are functioning. The local controllers are obtained from a standard centralized H-infinity controller by using a homotopy method imposing a structural constraint progressively. Secondly, the above case is extended to the one where any one of the local controllers fails. We again use a homotopy method where the coefficient matrices of the failed controller are decreased progressively to zero. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by an example. 展开更多

This technique is a direct application of the continuation homo-topy method for solving nonlinear systems of equations. Recently, iteratively reweighted methods have attracted much interest in compressed sensing, outperforming their unweighted counterparts in most cases. In these methods, decision variables and weights are optimized alternatingly, or decision variables are optimized under heuristically chosen weights. In this paper,we present a novel weighted l1-norm minimization problem for the sparsest solution of underdetermined linear equations. We propose an iteratively weighted thresholding method for this problem, wherein decision variables and weights are optimized simultaneously. Furthermore, we prove that the iteration process will converge eventually. Using the homotopy technique, we enhance the performance of the iteratively weighted thresholding method. Finally, extensive computational experiments show that our method performs better in terms of both running time and recovery accuracy compared with some state-of-the-art methods. 展开更多

Conventional algorithms, such as Newton's methods and its variations, are not very desirable because they can not be easily used to find all of the solutions. This paper investigates homotopy methods which can be used for numerically computing the set of all isolated solutions of multivariate polynomial systems resulting from load flow computations. Unlike perturbation methods, HAM is not dependent on any small physical parameters at all, and thus valid for both weakly and strongly nonlinear problems. In addition, HAM is different from all other analytic techniques in providing a simple way to adjust and control convergence region of the series solution by means of an auxiliary parameter h. In the present paper, a periodic analytic approximations for nonlinear oscillations with parametric excitation are obtained by using HAM, and the results are validated by numerical simulations. 展开更多

We have deduced incremental harmonic balance an iteration scheme in the (IHB) method using the harmonic balance plus the Newton-Raphson method. Since the convergence of the iteration is dependent upon the initial values in the iteration, the convergent region is greatly restricted for some cases. In this contribution, in order to enlarge the convergent region of the IHB method, we constructed the zeroth-order deformation equation using the homotopy analysis method, in which the IHB method is employed to solve the deformation equation with an embedding parameter as the active increment. Taking the Duffing and the van der Pol equations as examples, we obtained the highly accurate solutions. Importantly, the presented approach renders a convenient way to control and adjust the convergence. 展开更多
