Presently, the security process necessitates passengers to individually present their laptops for inspection. The paper introduced a method for laptop removal. By combining projection algorithms with the YOLOv7-Seg model, a laptop’s three views were generated through projection, and instance segmentation of these views was achieved using YOLOv7-Seg. The resulting 2D masks from instance segmentation at different angles were employed to reconstruct a 3D mask through angle restoration. Ultimately, the intersection of this 3D mask with the original 3D data enabled the successful extraction of the laptop’s 3D information. Experimental results demonstrated that the fusion of projection and instance segmentation facilitated the automatic removal of laptops from CT data. Moreover, higher instance segmentation model accuracy leads to more precise removal outcomes. By implementing the laptop removal functionality, the civil aviation security screening process becomes more efficient and convenient. Passengers will no longer be required to individually handle their laptops, effectively enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of security screening.展开更多

This limitation further disturbs accurate SLN detection and adequate tumor resection resulting in the presence of cancerous cells near the boundaries of surgically removed tissues. Materials and methods: To overcome the drawback of the conventional NIR imaging method, we suggest a novel NIR imaging system which can make the NIR fluorescence image visible to the naked eye as NIR fluorescence image detected by a video camera is processed by a computer and then projected back onto the NIR fluorescence excitation position with a projector using conspicuous color light. Image processing techniques were used for projection onto the exact position of the NIR fluorescence image. Also, we implemented a phantom experiment to evaluate the performance of the developed NIR fluorescence projection system by use of the ICG. Results: The developed NIR fluorescence projection system was applied in normal mouse model to confirm the usefulness of the system in the clinical field. A BALB/c nude mouse was prepared to be applied in normal mouse model and 0.25 mg/ml stock solution of the ICG was injected through a tail vein of the mouse. From the application in normal mouse model, we could confirm that the injected ICG stayed in the liver of the mouse and verify that the projection system projected the ICG fluorescence image at the exact location of the ICG by performing laparotomy of the mouse. Conclusions: From the application in normal mouse model, we could verify that the ICG fluorescence image was precisely projected back on the site where ICG fluorescence generated. It can be demonstrated that the NIR fluorescence projection system can make it possible to visualize the invisible NIR fluorescence image and to realize that SLN mapping and cancer detection in clinical surgery.展开更多

We cover the period since 2002 when a first review was published. Variable Projections is a method for the solution of nonlinear least squares problems where the model is a linear combination of nonlinear functions. Its success is based on the fact that the reduced functional, where the linear parameters are eliminated converges always faster than if the same method of solution is applied to the original problem. More importantly, many of these problems are very hard to solve in their original format and VARPRO has shown its value in many different applications.展开更多

The back-projection images of the three subarrays revealed that the Nepal earthquake propagated along the strike in a southeast direction over a distance of ~ 160–170 km with the duration of ~ 50–55 s. The rupture process was found to be a simple, unilateral event with a near constant velocity of 3.3 km/s.The beam power was mainly distributed in the geographic region just north of Kathmandu and the peak intensity for the source time function curve occurred at about 30 s. The earthquake was destructive due to its occurrence at shallow depth(~ 12–15 km) and the fact that the capital lies in a basin of soft sediment. Additionally, the resonance effect for the longer period waves that occurred in the Kathmandu valley led to destructive aggravation, impacting mainly the taller buildings.展开更多

In the mature SC, neurons in the stratum griseum superficiale (SGS) receive visual inputs that contribute to exciting premotor neurons in the stratum griseum intermediale (SGI) through a dorsoventral pathway. SGI activation generates feedback signals to the SGS through a ventrodorsal pathway. However, the developmental changes in signal transmission within the SC around the time of eye opening are not yet well understood. We compared the functional connections between the SGS and SGI before and after eye opening by imaging the neuronal population responses using a voltage-sensitive absorption dye in mouse SC slices. Electrophoresis of a fluorescent dye from the stimulating electrodes was used to fill the cells in the stimulated site. We here show that the dorsoventral transmission is present both before and after eye opening. This is in contrast to our previous finding that the ventrodorsal transmission develops after eye opening. Functions of intrinsic inhibitory systems mediated by gamma-aminobutyric acid were also investigated with the antagonist. The processes stained by electrophoresis from stimulating electrodes before eye opening were confined within the respective stimulated layers. Whereas, after eye opening, the processes were widely extended especially dorsoventrally and ventrodorsally invading the SGI and SGS, respectively. These corresponded well to the early component of voltage responses that is known to reflect the activation of presynaptic elements, presumably the axonal arborizations and varicosities. Thus, the optically-revealed functional connections between the SGS and SGI were correlated to the morphology.展开更多

The situation, in which absorbers are located at different depths with respect to the limited-view scanning trajectory, is called depth imaging and is investigated in this paper. The results show that limited-view scanning causes the reconstructed intensity of deep absorbers to be weaker than that of shallow ones and that deep absorbers will be invisible if the scanning range is too small. The concept of effective scanning angle is proposed to analyse that phenomenon. We find that an effective scanning angle can well predict the relationship between scanning angle and the intensity ratio of absorbers. In addition, limited-view scanning is employed to improve image quality.展开更多

This paper develops an iterative algorithm for image reconstruction, which can fit the most cases. This method gives an image reconstruction flow with the difference image vector, which is based on the concept that the difference image vector between the reconstructed and the reference image is sparse enough. Then the l1-norm minimization method is used to reconstruct the difference vector to recover the image for flat subjects in limited angles. The algorithm has been tested with a thin planar phantom and a real object in limited-view projection data. Moreover, all the studies showed the satisfactory results in accuracy at a rather high reconstruction speed.展开更多

Thus, the optically-revealed functional connections between the SGS and SGI were correlated to the morphology.

文摘We study the influence of limited-view scanning on the depth imaging of photoacoustic tomography. In addition, limited-view scanning is employed to improve image quality.

文摘If a spatial-domain function has a finite support, its Fourier transform is an entire function. The Taylor series expansion of an entire function converges at every finite point in the complex plane. The analytic continuation theory suggests that a finite-sized object can be uniquely determined by its frequency components in a very small neighborhood.Trying to obtain such an exact Taylor expansion is difficult. This paper proposes an iterative algorithm to extend the measured frequency components to unmeasured regions.Computer simulations show that the proposed algorithm converges very slowly, indicating that the problem is too ill-posed to be practically solvable using available methods.

文摘With the development of the compressive sensing theory, the image reconstruction from the projections viewed in limited angles is one of the hot problems in the research of computed tomography technology. Moreover, all the studies showed the satisfactory results in accuracy at a rather high reconstruction speed.
