The automatic diagnostic analysis on atmospheric horizontal inversion area is realized through changing the single atmospheric inversion into horizontal one based on the sounding data in Micaps system;the basic concep...The automatic diagnostic analysis on atmospheric horizontal inversion area is realized through changing the single atmospheric inversion into horizontal one based on the sounding data in Micaps system;the basic conceptual model INCLUDING atmospheric horizontal inversion area,ground 0 ℃ line,high altitude wet area,extreme point 0 ℃ line in inversion layer is buillt after the research on relationship between atmospheric horizontal inversion area and freezing rain falling area;automatic diagnostic analysis on freezing rain falling area is developed based on the conceptual model,the method is in accord well with the actual situation (freezing rain disaster weather occurred in most part of the south in beginning of 2008) and fitting rate reaches 94.4%,quantitative correlation coefficient between the area of freezing rain falling area and stations reporting freezing rain is 0.839.展开更多

Through fi...To determine the appropriate soft foundation treatment for a river-crossing tunnel, freezing reinforcement design and technology were introduced based on the channel tunnel design and construction practice. Through finite element analysis and engineering practices, two rows of horizontal perforated freezing pipes were designed and installed on both sides of a passage for tunnel rein- forcement, which produced the thickness and strength of frozen crust that satisfied the design requirements. These information are valuable for guiding the design and construction of river-crossing tunnels in coastal areas.展开更多
Frost susceptibility should be considered in the design and construction of foundations and retaining-wall structures in regions with the seasonally freezing-soil ground condition.When planning construction that goes ...Frost susceptibility should be considered in the design and construction of foundations and retaining-wall structures in regions with the seasonally freezing-soil ground condition.When planning construction that goes deep into this soil,one has to understand the impact of horizontal forces to an underground wall and realize the potential effect of frost heaving upon,deep foundations.This article presents a few soil tests for frost heaving and the results of those tests show dangerous data for retaining structures under the soil conditions in Kazakhstan.The main parameters of the soil include frost penetration and heaving rate and amount.So,in designing underground structures,one must understand and consider that frost heaving occurs in various directions;this factor is very important for predicting on the restriction of deformations of structures in the seasonally freezing-soil ground condition.展开更多
