Skin color is considered an important beauty standard for women in China.The typical tool for skin color measurement,individual typology angle(ITA),was developed based on Caucasian skin features.The ITA effectively me...Skin color is considered an important beauty standard for women in China.The typical tool for skin color measurement,individual typology angle(ITA),was developed based on Caucasian skin features.The ITA effectively measures the brightness of facial skin,which is traditionally associated with beauty in Caucasian women.However,in Chinese women,whiteness is not the only determinant of skin esthetics,and other elements such as“yellowness”and“redness”are also important considerations.Thus,the hue angle system was developed based on the skin features of Chinese women,whose skin is typically on the“yellow-red”spectrum.Studies examining the skin color of Chinese women based on both the ITA and hue angle should be carried out.The skin colors of 4500 women aged 18–45 years across five different regions of China were measured using both the ITA and hue angle systems.The relationship of the“red pigment and melanin content”with the“brightness and redness of skin color”was also examined.Further,the different skin types of women across different regions were identified.Measurements based on the ITA system reveal a saddle-shaped distribution of skin brightness among Chinese women across five different regions,with skin brightness being high in the eastwest regions and low in the north-south regions.The ITA and hab values are not consistent in individual women,and thus,both need to be considered when evaluating skin color.Additionally,no correlation between the skin’s red pigment and melanin content and the skin’s ITA and hab values is identified.This study provides skin color data based on both the ITA and hue angle systems.The findings show that skin ITA/hab values cannot simply be explained by the red pigment/melanin content of the skin.Given the distribution of skin types across different regions of China,whitening ingredients causing little to no irritation should be used to formulate whitening cosmetics.展开更多

Crop growth and yield depend on canopy light interception (LI). To identify a low-cost and relatively efficient index for measuring LI, several color attributes of red-green-blue (RGB), hue-saturation-intensity (...Crop growth and yield depend on canopy light interception (LI). To identify a low-cost and relatively efficient index for measuring LI, several color attributes of red-green-blue (RGB), hue-saturation-intensity (HSI), hue-saturation-value (HSV) color models and the component values of color attributes in the RGB color model were investigated using digital images at six cotton plant population densities in 2012-2014. The results showed that the LI values followed downward quadratic curves after planting. The red (R), green (G) and blue (B) values varied greatly over the years, in accordance with Cai's research demonstrating that the RGB model is affected by outside light. Quadratic curves were fit to these color attributes at six plant population densities. Additionally, linear regressions of LI on every color attribute revealed that the hue (H) values in HSI and HSV were significantly linearly correlated with LI with a determination coefficient (R2)〉0.89 and a root mean square error (RMSE)=0.05. Thus, the H values in the HSI and HSV models could be used to measure LI, and this hypothesis was validated. The H values are new indexes for quantitatively estimating the LI of heterogeneous crop cano- pies, which will provide a theoretical basis for optimizing the crop canopy structure. However, further research should be conducted in other crops and under other growing and environmental conditions to verify this finding.展开更多
Two lines of image representation based on multiple features fusion demonstrate excellent performance in image retrieval.However,there are some problems in both of them:1)the methods defining directly texture in color...Two lines of image representation based on multiple features fusion demonstrate excellent performance in image retrieval.However,there are some problems in both of them:1)the methods defining directly texture in color space put more emphasis on color than texture feature;2)the methods extract several features respectively and combine them into a vector,in which bad features may lead to worse performance after combining directly good and bad features.To address the problems above,a novel hybrid framework for color image retrieval through combination of local and global features achieves higher retrieval precision.The bag-of-visual words(BoW)models and color intensity-based local difference patterns(CILDP)are exploited to capture local and global features of an image.The proposed fusion framework combines the ranking results of BoW and CILDP through graph-based density method.The performance of our proposed framework in terms of average precision on Corel-1K database is86.26%,and it improves the average precision by approximately6.68%and12.53%over CILDP and BoW,respectively.Extensive experiments on different databases demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework for image retrieval.展开更多

It is time consuming for a viewer to select a favorite film. This paper presents an automatic recognition system of film types. Initially, a film is firstly sampled as frame sequences. The color space, including hue, saturation,and brightness value(HSV), is analyzed for each sampled frame by computing the deviation and mean of HSV for each film. These features are utilized as inputs to a deep-learning neural network(DNN) for the recognition of film types. One hundred films are utilized to train and validate the model parameters of DNN. In the testing phase, a film is recognized as one of the five categories, including action, comedy, horror thriller, romance, and science fiction, by the trained DNN. The experimental results reveal that the film types can be effectively recognized by the proposed approach, enabling the viewer to select an interesting film accurately and quickly.展开更多
The main objective of this study was to select the best accessions for use as potential breeding sources in Thua Thien Hue province.A total of 16 accessions were used in this study,of which three accessions from Ho Ch...The main objective of this study was to select the best accessions for use as potential breeding sources in Thua Thien Hue province.A total of 16 accessions were used in this study,of which three accessions from Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam,four accessions supplied by Japan,six accessions collected from China,two accessions provided by the United States and one MèVàng local accession(control)from Thua Thien Hue.The field experiment was conducted from August 2016 to November 2016 and laid out in a random complete block design(RCBD)for three replications at Huong Long ward,Hue city,Thua Thien Hue province.Each accession was observed 10 plants per replication.The size of each plot was 10 m2 and the spacing of 25 cm×10 cm was applied.The results showed that experiment accessions can grow under Thua Thien Hue conditions.Of those,the actual yield of VV12,VDM21,VH12,VDM50,VH01 and VDM45 were higher than the other accessions with 1.65,1.64,1.55,1.54,1.52 and 1.45 tons/ha,respectively.Oil content of these six accessions was above 50%.Therefore,VV12,VDM21,VH12,VDM50,VH01 and VDM45 can be used for breeding and cultivation under local condition.展开更多
Terapon jarbua was collected from Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon systems and then their reproductive performances were investigated.Total 342 species were caught by otter trawlers and different fishing gears in marine and T...Terapon jarbua was collected from Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon systems and then their reproductive performances were investigated.Total 342 species were caught by otter trawlers and different fishing gears in marine and Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon systems on certain days of each month during period from September 2015 to August 2016 at fishing port.The determination of age was based on composition of the fish:ear,scaly,spine,gill cover and spine and the ovarian histology template.The gonads after being fixed with Bouins solution were cleansed,cut,dyed and put on the observation microscope.Results showed that the sex of Terapon jarbua was nearly clarified at the approximately 1+age group and participated in reproduction process in the first time at the 1+age group.The batch and relative fecundity of Terapon jarbua were high.The batch fecundity of Terapon jarbua varied from 239,029 to 420,400 eggs.The relative fecundity capacity fluctuated from 945 to 1,013 of eggs per gram of fish and the mean value by 981 eggs per gram of fish.The spawning season of fish occurred from March to May annually.展开更多
Plants which contain unisexual flowers are subjected to genetic degradation and yield capacity reduction due to the easily cross-pollination.Sponge gourd,one of species of the Cucurbitaceae which is predominantly cros...Plants which contain unisexual flowers are subjected to genetic degradation and yield capacity reduction due to the easily cross-pollination.Sponge gourd,one of species of the Cucurbitaceae which is predominantly cross-pollinating,is cultivated to widely use as vegetable in Vietnamese daily meals.The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the growth potential and fruit quality including fruit aroma of sponge gourd inbred lines.Pure line selection has been performed using self-pollinated method,so that sponge gourd lines would be recovered with high yielding and aroma and thereby recommended for further crop system in Thua Thien Hue province,Central Vietnam.The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design(RCBD)with three replications during the winter-spring season in 2017.Agronomical data were observed and analyzed on seven inbred lines(1-MN1,1-MN2,5-MN1,7-MN1,13-MN2,15-MN1 and 15-MN2)derived from B29 accession(GBVN006904).The results indicated that inbred lines 13-MN2,1-MN2 and 15-MN1 attained more highly fruit weight and yield compared to the others.Four inbred lines consisting of 5-MN1,7-MN1,15-MN1 and 15-MN2 still retained the light aroma after boiling.The inbred lines 1-MN2,7-MN1,13-MN2 and 15-MN1 are considered for appropriately using in breeding program of new luffa.展开更多

Food safety has become a growing concern for citizens in the modern society when consuming unsafe food that directly impacts public health,life quality and well-being of each country.People of Vietnam in general and s...Food safety has become a growing concern for citizens in the modern society when consuming unsafe food that directly impacts public health,life quality and well-being of each country.People of Vietnam in general and specially in Hue city have been facing challenge of vegetable unsafety.A survey concerning the consumption of safe vegetables was conducted in Hue city,Vietnam.Data were collected by using a well-structured questionnaire from representative of 30 consumers,30 producers and 10 collectors.The results showed that lettuce,sweet potato and Chinese mustard were identified as the most important vegetables to consumers in Hue city.Most of the consumers purchased vegetable every day.The cost of vegetable in every transaction was about 30,000 VND.This expenditure has not created a great motivation for developing safe vegetable production.Most of the consumers in Hue city showed high interest,demand,trust and satisfaction for safe vegetable.However,50%of the consumers reported that the price of the safe vegetable was quite expensive and price was not matched with their quality.Moreover,there were some disadvantages in each stage of vegetable supply chain.For example,land,seed,capital,cultivation techniques,preliminary processing,preservation,brand name,trademark and place to consume have not met the requirement of high technology production for the supply chain of safe vegetables.The chain linking between the production and consumption of vegetables is not sustainable.Producers and consumers do not have closely links.Vegetable can not be traced to origin and there is no safe certificate.The consumers believe the quality of vegetables depending on the prestige suppliers,such as,the vegetable shops with foreign consultants.Safe vegetables of farmers are very difficult to be certified for safe vegetables.Solutions and suggestions to Hue city are proposed that it is necessary to establish the vegetable production area in Hue city.Vegetable growers should be supported with capital,knowledge,technology,vegetable preliminary processing and preservation.They should be supported to build a trademark and certificate of vegetable safety and establish the chains of effective safe vegetable consumption.展开更多

Whereas Nguyen Kings lived in the Purple Forbidden City ...In Hue, the city located in the middle region of Vietnam, the Citadel is known as the place of the last Dynasty in the history of Vietnam, Nguyen (1802-1945). Whereas Nguyen Kings lived in the Purple Forbidden City (the third wall of the Citadel), other members of royal families and high-ranking mandarins lived in Hue Traditional Garden Houses (HTGHs) constructed around and in the Citadel area. This paper is a part of the research that focuses on an approach for sustainable live conservation and application of HTGHs into contemporary use. In this paper, the study aims to consider effects of the Citadel on the layout and arrangement of HTGHs located in its' area by studying alteration in layout elements of those house. Based on field surveys of 91 HTGHs in the Citadel area, it is found that although those houses are altered into various configurations under the impacts of urbanization and modernization, several important traditional elements in layout such as Binh Phong (masonry screen), Be Can (basin), and facing orientation have been maintained, and their layouts reflect a miniature image of Hue Citadel, i.e., there is an integral relationship between the Citadel and HTGHs located in it. This relationship plays an important role for expressing one of unique characteristics of Hue cultural asset, which is unavailable in other regions of Vietnam.展开更多

By quantifying and reducing dimensions of HSV( hue saturation value) color space, a one-dimensional hue space is constructed. In the space, the target characteristic hue granule set is constructed, which contains attributes such as value, area and average distance between pixels and aiming center. By using granular computing method, the similarity between target and search blocks is obtained and the invalid search areas can be removed. The color tracking experiment has proved that the algorithm can improve real time performance for conventional matching algorithms without precision lost.展开更多

文摘Plants which contain unisexual flowers are subjected to genetic degradation and yield capacity reduction due to the easily cross-pollination.Sponge gourd,one of species of the Cucurbitaceae which is predominantly cross-pollinating,is cultivated to widely use as vegetable in Vietnamese daily meals.The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the growth potential and fruit quality including fruit aroma of sponge gourd inbred lines.Pure line selection has been performed using self-pollinated method,so that sponge gourd lines would be recovered with high yielding and aroma and thereby recommended for further crop system in Thua Thien Hue province,Central Vietnam.The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design(RCBD)with three replications during the winter-spring season in 2017.Agronomical data were observed and analyzed on seven inbred lines(1-MN1,1-MN2,5-MN1,7-MN1,13-MN2,15-MN1 and 15-MN2)derived from B29 accession(GBVN006904).The results indicated that inbred lines 13-MN2,1-MN2 and 15-MN1 attained more highly fruit weight and yield compared to the others.Four inbred lines consisting of 5-MN1,7-MN1,15-MN1 and 15-MN2 still retained the light aroma after boiling.The inbred lines 1-MN2,7-MN1,13-MN2 and 15-MN1 are considered for appropriately using in breeding program of new luffa.
文摘The experiment was conducted in winter-spring 2015-2016 in Thua Thien Hue to identify different foliar fertilizer for Petunia hybrida having good growth and development,beautiful colors and long lifetime under local conditions.The experiment included four treatments with three kinds of forliar fertilizers—Dau Trau MK 30-10-5,gibberellin 25-10-10 and abscisic acid.The control treatment(T0)used sterilized water without foliar fertilizer.The results showed that all the foliar fertilizers influenced well on growth and development of Petunia hybrida.Dau Trau MK 30-10-5 helped Petunia hybrida have high quality and high value/cost ratio than the others.
文摘The main objective of this study was to evaluate ability of growth and yield of introduced bitter gourd accessions in winter-spring 2016-2017 in Thua Thien Hue province.A total of seven accessions were used in this study.Of these,six accessions were provided by the World Vegetable Center(AVRDC),namely,AVRDC 1329,AVRDC 1330,AVRDC 1331,AVRDC 1333,AVRDC 1334,AVRDC 1335 and one Vietnam local accession(control)from Dien Hai commune,Phong Dien district,Thua Thien Hue province.The results showed that experiment accessions can grow under Thua Thien Hue conditions.AVRDC 1329,AVRDC 1330,and AVRDC 1335 were considered as displaying good growth and development ability.Of those,AVRDC 1330 was the most suitable to consumer as regards to appearance and bitter taste.AVRDC 1330,the control check and AVRDC 1331 had the high actual yield with 16.57,10.65 and 7.88 tons/ha,respectively,and these two introduced accessions can be used for breeding and cultivation under local condition.
文摘Food safety has become a growing concern for citizens in the modern society when consuming unsafe food that directly impacts public health,life quality and well-being of each country.People of Vietnam in general and specially in Hue city have been facing challenge of vegetable unsafety.A survey concerning the consumption of safe vegetables was conducted in Hue city,Vietnam.Data were collected by using a well-structured questionnaire from representative of 30 consumers,30 producers and 10 collectors.The results showed that lettuce,sweet potato and Chinese mustard were identified as the most important vegetables to consumers in Hue city.Most of the consumers purchased vegetable every day.The cost of vegetable in every transaction was about 30,000 VND.This expenditure has not created a great motivation for developing safe vegetable production.Most of the consumers in Hue city showed high interest,demand,trust and satisfaction for safe vegetable.However,50%of the consumers reported that the price of the safe vegetable was quite expensive and price was not matched with their quality.Moreover,there were some disadvantages in each stage of vegetable supply chain.For example,land,seed,capital,cultivation techniques,preliminary processing,preservation,brand name,trademark and place to consume have not met the requirement of high technology production for the supply chain of safe vegetables.The chain linking between the production and consumption of vegetables is not sustainable.Producers and consumers do not have closely links.Vegetable can not be traced to origin and there is no safe certificate.The consumers believe the quality of vegetables depending on the prestige suppliers,such as,the vegetable shops with foreign consultants.Safe vegetables of farmers are very difficult to be certified for safe vegetables.Solutions and suggestions to Hue city are proposed that it is necessary to establish the vegetable production area in Hue city.Vegetable growers should be supported with capital,knowledge,technology,vegetable preliminary processing and preservation.They should be supported to build a trademark and certificate of vegetable safety and establish the chains of effective safe vegetable consumption.
文摘In Hue, the city located in the middle region of Vietnam, the Citadel is known as the place of the last Dynasty in the history of Vietnam, Nguyen (1802-1945). Whereas Nguyen Kings lived in the Purple Forbidden City (the third wall of the Citadel), other members of royal families and high-ranking mandarins lived in Hue Traditional Garden Houses (HTGHs) constructed around and in the Citadel area. This paper is a part of the research that focuses on an approach for sustainable live conservation and application of HTGHs into contemporary use. In this paper, the study aims to consider effects of the Citadel on the layout and arrangement of HTGHs located in its' area by studying alteration in layout elements of those house. Based on field surveys of 91 HTGHs in the Citadel area, it is found that although those houses are altered into various configurations under the impacts of urbanization and modernization, several important traditional elements in layout such as Binh Phong (masonry screen), Be Can (basin), and facing orientation have been maintained, and their layouts reflect a miniature image of Hue Citadel, i.e., there is an integral relationship between the Citadel and HTGHs located in it. This relationship plays an important role for expressing one of unique characteristics of Hue cultural asset, which is unavailable in other regions of Vietnam.
文摘Conventional correlation matching algorithms waste great time in invalid area search. This paper proposes a color tracking method based on correlation search area optimization on target characteristic hue decision. By quantifying and reducing dimensions of HSV( hue saturation value) color space, a one-dimensional hue space is constructed. In the space, the target characteristic hue granule set is constructed, which contains attributes such as value, area and average distance between pixels and aiming center. By using granular computing method, the similarity between target and search blocks is obtained and the invalid search areas can be removed. The color tracking experiment has proved that the algorithm can improve real time performance for conventional matching algorithms without precision lost.
