Using ArcGIS to Study Transportation Accessibility of Cultural Tourism Resources with Wan'an County in Jiangxi Province as an Example

This paper reviews cultural tourist attractions and transportation conditions of Wan'an County in Jiangxi Province,and calculates the accessibility and kernel density of transportation network by using ArcGIS.Through the analysis,it obtains the spatial relationship between the accessibility of Wan an County and the spatial structural characteristics of"one center,two clusters,two verticals and one horizontal"presented by the cultural tourism resources.Based on this,the paper puts forward the transportation development suggestions for the development of cultural tourism for Wan'an County.

Thinking on Exploitation of Tourism Resources and Development of Tourism Industry in the Republic of Kiribati

The endowment of tourism resources is the material foundation for the development of tourism industry. However,at present,there is no special study about Kiribati’s tourism resources,landscape features,and industrial development inside and outside of Kiribati. Through review and analysis,the author believes that Kiribati’s national tourism resources are rich,distinctive and have high development potential,and it will play a major role in Kiribati’s economic and social development. Its tourism resources could be exploited from 9 aspects including characteristic geography,human landscape,ecological environment,water sports and historical sites. At present,the infrastructure such as transportation and communication in Kiribati is poor,and the tourism industry is still weak and small,remains at starting stage,lacks overall planning,and professional talents are short. In summary,it is necessary to be improved in many ways. It is recommended that Kiribati should vigorously develop cultural and educational undertakings,strengthen the infrastructure construction across the country,formulate national tourism development plans,focus on the construction of five major scenic tourist areas,and stick to the green,ecological and sustainable development principle.

Sufficiency Economy for Sustainable Human Resource Development in Tourism Business

The purpose of this paper is to suggest the concept of sufficiency economy philosophy to be used in tourism business,especially in human resource development(HRD).This paper covers the analysis and synthesis from literature review,the meaning of sufficiency economy philosophy,sustainable development and human resource.The result has shown that the sufficiency economy philosophy is a measure of well-being(Nothing can be developed sustainably like HRD.Tourism business is a service product that depends on human resources).That is the reason why the sufficiency economy philosophy should be implemented for sustainable HRD in tourism business.

An Inventory of the Geological, Biological and Cultural Resources on Ufe-Oke Hill, Idanre, Southwestern Nigeria

Idanre, which represents a unique topographical landscape within southwestern Nigeria, is being proposed to the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for designation as a world heritage site. In line with this, we conducted a survey to document the rich geological, biological and cultural resources contained within the Ufe-Oke section of Idanre Hills. Our geological inventory revealed two major rock types, older porphyritic granite and fine grained granite, in addition to other minerals. We identified insects belonging to 174 species while fishes from 4 species were collected. Mammals belonging to 13 species were identified through trapping, sightings and signs, although an even greater variety was inferred from interviews with hunters and visits to local fetish markets. Patterns concerning how these biological taxa are distributed altitudinally along Ufe-Oke Hill are discussed. In addition, in the quarters within Ufe-Oke representing the ancient city of Idanre, we characterized about 200 pieces of anthropological material, which included pottery shards, beads, chinaware, brass bangles and ancient metal coins. We also identified various other major features of archeological interest. Finally we offer recommendations, in the light of our findings, concerning how the variety of resources catalogued in this study can be effectively harnessed while sus-taining at the same time the environmental integrity of this site, which offers the greatest opportunities and potential for tourism.

Patient Safety Culture Post Covid-19 Pandemic: In Perspective of Millennials Human Capital Issues

Background: Patient safety is the core task of any healthcare business. As medical harm caused by hospitalisation is still on the rise and patient safety culture is a struggle. We aim to determine the nature of patient safety culture in a private hospital and explore some unique human resource problems in Malaysia. Methods: In our case study, we use the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC) questionnaire to measure the 12 dimensions of patient safety culture. The survey received 281 respondents (76% response rate) from all the millennial frontline healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses and allied healthcare providers. The result of the survey was used as the basis to further explore the problems in this hospital. In-depth interviews, observation and document reviews were conducted in relation to human resource problems. This study used IBM SPSS 26 for Windows for statistical analysis and Atlas ti.8 for qualitative analysis of open comments. We used Interpretive Phenomenological Interpretation for analysis of data after triangulation. Results: The overall average positive response rate for the 12 patient safety culture dimensions of the HSOPSC survey was 64%. The result showed that the staff feels positively toward patient safety culture in this hospital. The dimension that received good performance is “Manager expectation”, “Management support for patient safety” and “Organisational learning”. The dimension with the poor performance was “Staffing”, “Frequency of error reporting”, “Teamwork across units”, and “Handoff and transitions”. The open comments indicated inadequate staffing and nursing retention issues. Interviews, observation and document reviews related to staffing reveal high turnover rates among millennial nurses, high overtime and on-call rates, chaotic units with procedures, doctors’ round, admission and discharges mainly in medical and surgical units causing distraction. Poor shared governance is the biggest challenges that need immediate attention post Covid-19 pandemic. Conclusions: The HSOPSC measurement gave valuable insights on patient safety culture in a private hospital in Malaysia. The overall perception of patient safety culture was satisfactory. The poor positive response rate for “Staffing” dimension and the open comments suggests a need for an urgent need for retention and human resource management strategies to prevent brain drain due to high turnover rates, especially among millennial nurses. The key factors causing dissatisfaction and brain drain among nurses are the lack of shared governance.

How cultural differences impact on human resource practices

Nowadays, hundreds of companies operate internationally. Increase with internationalism, multinational companies need to consider their local/host country cultureimpact on the countries they operate within, and cultural values that exist. It involves MNEs and global companies which are operating broadly to adjust and apply new policies, practices and procedures to fit different culture over the countries. However, there are likely to have some failure and challenges at international level of the company due to differences between the countries. Culture has a significant influence on international HR practices and the manner in which management problems and situations are seen. So, this has been justified that similar human resource practices may not result in same outcome in different context of cultural diversity. Therefore, this essay intent to demonstrate how cultural differences impact on international HR practices, particularly performance appraisal as well as recruitment and selection orocess.

Discussion on Construction of Henan Cultural Products about Geotourism

With the construction and development of Geoparks,geo-tourism culture is brought into being. Based on the significance of geotourism cultural product system,this article summarizes the natural heritage properties and scientific cultural value of Henan geological heritage resources and landscape resources,points out the various risks in construction of geo-tourism culture,such as the uncertainty of geo-tourism resources and their distribution areas,the uncertainty of the Geoparks building policies from governments,etc. ,and finally proposes some constructive suggestions and measures to avoid these risks.

Archaeology and Heritage Resource Management in Siuyu, Singida Region (Tanzania)

This paper was produced as a part of our ongoing research endeavors in Singida destined to provide a better understanding of early humans’ cultures, and to promote the conservation of cultural and natural heritages of the region. The overreaching goals of this research are to holistically reconstruct the archaeology of Singida by studying cultural processes over time and space. Equally important is to promote tourism in the Singida eastern axis and, to salvage the heritage assets of the region from total disappearance as evinced by the activities of modern day civilization, broadly, to shed more light about the past life ways, and the subsistence behaviours of our ancestors. Our recent archaeological reconnaissance conducted in January 2016 in Siuyu ward discovered rock paintings and a rock shelter with archeological potential (Ngaghe rock shelter), containing a large scatter of Later Stone Age (LSA) archaeological artifacts that are crucial to the unravelling of the prehistoric human behaviours in Singida. Preliminary results from our research revealed that Singida region is an ideal place for undertaking research on early human bio-cultural evolution from LSA times to the present. Data from this study will be utilized to re-write the history of Singida region, to make sure that it is sustained for future generations. Despite their rarity, uniqueness, scientific and aesthetic values, these heritage assets are neither protected by village nor regional by-laws. Before deliberate conservation measures are put in place, it is very important to have good records of the areas that are attractive to tourism, and their current state of preservation. These sites were undocumented by the previous researchers, and in certain circumstances are unknown even to the local people of the Siuyu ward. Although the archaeology of Singida east is much “terra incognita”, this article is timely, for promoting archaeo-tourism and raising public awareness on the archaeology of Singida. Additionally, this work provides a stimulus to the authorities to take action by introducing effective conservation measures for the sustainability of these priceless non-renewable resources.

Discussion about Tourism Development of Agricultural Cultural Heritage in Xiajin County of Shandong Province

[Objectives]To discuss the protection and utilization of agricultural cultural heritage in Xiajin County in the context of deep integration of culture and tourism.With the advancement of the process of revitalizing villages through culture and tourism,agricultural cultural heritage has gradually attracted wide attention from all walks of life.This paper is intended to provide new ideas and strategies for the development of local cultural tourism through in-depth analysis of agricultural cultural heritage resources in Xiajin County.[Methods]Using the method of literature research,this paper systematically sorted out the historical background,current situation and value of agricultural cultural heritage in Xiajin County.Besides,the agricultural cultural heritage resources in Xiajin County were comprehensively evaluated using the 3-3-6 evaluation method.On this basis,combined with the theory of industrial convergence and sustainable development,it came up with some specific suggestions on the tourism development of agricultural cultural heritage in Xiajin County.[Results]Through the in-depth evaluation of agricultural cultural heritage resources in Xiajin County,it is found that it has rich historical and cultural heritage and unique tourism value.However,there are still some problems in protection and utilization.In view of the problems,it recommended to attach importance to the inheritance of Xiajin agricultural cultural heritage,develop characteristic heritage tourism and improve relevant supporting facilities.[Conclusions]Deeply excavating the essence of agricultural cultural heritage in Xiajin County and organically combining it with modern tourism is an important way to realize the sustainable development of local cultural tourism.The recommendations are expected to provide reference for the development of agricultural heritage tourism in Xiajin County and other regions,and help to promote the deep integration of culture and tourism,and promote rural revitalization and cultural inheritance.

Research on Tourism Experience Enhancement Strategies for the Daming Palace Site

The Daming Palace site has an important status and far-reaching influence as a national critical cultural relics protection unit and world cultural heritage.Likewise,as a 5A tourist attraction,it has a unique tourist attraction.By studying the strategy of improving the tourism experience of the Daming Palace ruins,analyzing the current situation of the utilization of cultural tourism resources and the existing problems,and proposing corresponding solutions,we can contribute to the improvement and enhancement of the tourism experience of the Daming Palace ruins in the future.

Construction of the Integration System of Cultural Resources and Products in Li Miao Region Tourism

The conventional tourism resource product fusion system applied to the tourism culture in Li Miao region has the deficiency of low integration rate and poor integrity of construction.To solve the problem,the fusion system of cultural resources and products in Li Miao region tourism is proposed.Based on their determination of the mathematical relationship,the cultural resources and product information in Li Miao region tourism was introduced,and their fusion can be realized.Based on the confirmation of the fusion mechanism of cultural resources and products and the procedure of the fusion system,the proposed fusion system was constructed.The experimental data show that the proposed tourism resource product fusion system is 38.9%higher than the conventional system,and the construction integrity is improved by 31.7%.It is proved the effectiveness of the construction of the fusion system of cultural resources and products in Li Miao region tourism.
