For underwater robots in the process of performing target detection tasks,the color distortion and the uneven quality of underwater images lead to great difficulties in the feature extraction process of the model,whic...For underwater robots in the process of performing target detection tasks,the color distortion and the uneven quality of underwater images lead to great difficulties in the feature extraction process of the model,which is prone to issues like error detection,omission detection,and poor accuracy.Therefore,this paper proposed the CER-YOLOv7(CBAM-EIOU-RepVGG-YOLOv7)underwater target detection algorithm.To improve the algorithm’s capability to retain valid features from both spatial and channel perspectives during the feature extraction phase,we have added a Convolutional Block Attention Module(CBAM)to the backbone network.The Reparameterization Visual Geometry Group(RepVGG)module is inserted into the backbone to improve the training and inference capabilities.The Efficient Intersection over Union(EIoU)loss is also used as the localization loss function,which reduces the error detection rate and missed detection rate of the algorithm.The experimental results of the CER-YOLOv7 algorithm on the UPRC(Underwater Robot Prototype Competition)dataset show that the mAP(mean Average Precision)score of the algorithm is 86.1%,which is a 2.2%improvement compared to the YOLOv7.The feasibility and validity of the CER-YOLOv7 are proved through ablation and comparison experiments,and it is more suitable for underwater target detection.展开更多

With the advent of Reinforcement Learning(RL)and its continuous progress,state-of-the-art RL systems have come up for many challenging and real-world tasks.Given the scope of this area,various techniques are found in ...With the advent of Reinforcement Learning(RL)and its continuous progress,state-of-the-art RL systems have come up for many challenging and real-world tasks.Given the scope of this area,various techniques are found in the literature.One such notable technique,Multiple Deep Q-Network(DQN)based RL systems use multiple DQN-based-entities,which learn together and communicate with each other.The learning has to be distributed wisely among all entities in such a scheme and the inter-entity communication protocol has to be carefully designed.As more complex DQNs come to the fore,the overall complexity of these multi-entity systems has increased many folds leading to issues like difficulty in training,need for high resources,more training time,and difficulty in fine-tuning leading to performance issues.Taking a cue from the parallel processing found in the nature and its efficacy,we propose a lightweight ensemble based approach for solving the core RL tasks.It uses multiple binary action DQNs having shared state and reward.The benefits of the proposed approach are overall simplicity,faster convergence and better performance compared to conventional DQN based approaches.The approach can potentially be extended to any type of DQN by forming its ensemble.Conducting extensive experimentation,promising results are obtained using the proposed ensemble approach on OpenAI Gym tasks,and Atari 2600 games as compared to recent techniques.The proposed approach gives a stateof-the-art score of 500 on the Cartpole-v1 task,259.2 on the LunarLander-v2 task,and state-of-the-art results on four out of five Atari 2600 games.展开更多
Plant species recognition is an important research area in image recognition in recent years.However,the existing plant species recognition methods have low recognition accuracy and do not meet professional requiremen...Plant species recognition is an important research area in image recognition in recent years.However,the existing plant species recognition methods have low recognition accuracy and do not meet professional requirements in terms of recognition accuracy.Therefore,ShuffleNetV2 was improved by combining the current hot concern mechanism,convolution kernel size adjustment,convolution tailoring,and CSP technology to improve the accuracy and reduce the amount of computation in this study.Six convolutional neural network models with sufficient trainable parameters were designed for differentiation learning.The SGD algorithm is used to optimize the training process to avoid overfitting or falling into the local optimum.In this paper,a conventional plant image dataset TJAU10 collected by cell phones in a natural context was constructed,containing 3000 images of 10 plant species on the campus of Tianjin Agricultural University.Finally,the improved model is compared with the baseline version of the model,which achieves better results in terms of improving accuracy and reducing the computational effort.The recognition accuracy tested on the TJAU10 dataset reaches up to 98.3%,and the recognition precision reaches up to 93.6%,which is 5.1%better than the original model and reduces the computational effort by about 31%compared with the original model.In addition,the experimental results were evaluated using metrics such as the confusion matrix,which can meet the requirements of professionals for the accurate identification of plant species.展开更多
Fracturing fluid property play a critical role in developing unconventional reservoirs.Deep eutectic solvents(DESs)show fascinating potential for property improvement of clean fracturing fluids(CFFs)due to their low-p...Fracturing fluid property play a critical role in developing unconventional reservoirs.Deep eutectic solvents(DESs)show fascinating potential for property improvement of clean fracturing fluids(CFFs)due to their low-price,low-toxicity,chemical stability and flexible designability.In this work,DESs were synthesized by mixing hydrogen bond acceptors(HBAs)and a given hydrogen bond donor(HBD)to explore their underlying influence on CFF properties based on the intermolecular interactions.The hydrogen-bonding,van der Waals and electrostatic interactions between DES components and surfactants improved the CFF properties by promoting the arrangement of surfactants at interface and enhancing the micelle network strength.The HBD enhanced the resistance of CFF for Ca^(2+) due to coordination-bonding interaction.The DESs composed of choline chloride(ChCl)and malonic acid show great enhancement for surface,rheology,temperature resistance,salt tolerance,drag reduction,and gel-breaking performance of CFFs.The DESs also improved the gel-breaking CFF-oil interactions,increasing the imbibition efficiencies to 44.2%in 74 h.Adjusting HBAs can effectively strengthen the intermolecular interactions(e.g.,HBA-surfactant and HBD-surfactant interactions)to improve CFF properties.The DESs developed in this study provide a novel strategy to intensify CFF properties.展开更多

Nevertheless, due to the limited computing power capability of edge devices and task-related coupling relationships, Io MT faces unprecedented challenges. Considering the associative connections among tasks, this paper proposes a computing offloading policy for multiple-user devices(UDs) considering device-to-device(D2D) communication and a multi-access edge computing(MEC)technique under the scenario of Io MT. Specifically,to minimize the total delay and energy consumption concerning the requirement of Io MT, we first analyze and model the detailed local execution, MEC execution, D2D execution, and associated tasks offloading exchange model. Consequently, the associated tasks’ offloading scheme of multi-UDs is formulated as a mixed-integer nonconvex optimization problem. Considering the advantages of deep reinforcement learning(DRL) in processing tasks related to coupling relationships, a Double DQN based associative tasks computing offloading(DDATO) algorithm is then proposed to obtain the optimal solution, which can make the best offloading decision under the condition that tasks of UDs are associative. Furthermore, to reduce the complexity of the DDATO algorithm, the cacheaided procedure is intentionally introduced before the data training process. This avoids redundant offloading and computing procedures concerning tasks that previously have already been cached by other UDs. In addition, we use a dynamic ε-greedy strategy in the action selection section of the algorithm, thus preventing the algorithm from falling into a locally optimal solution. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with other existing methods for associative task models concerning different structures in the Io MT network, the proposed algorithm can lower the total cost more effectively and efficiently while also providing a tradeoff between delay and energy consumption tolerance.展开更多

Cloud radio access network (CRAN) is a prominent framework in the 5G mobile network to meet the above requirements by deploying low-cost and intelligent multiple distributed antennas known as remote radio heads (RRHs). However, achieving the optimal resource allocation (RA) in CRAN using the traditional approach is still challenging due to the complex structure. In this paper, we introduce the convolutional neural network-based deep Q-network (CNN-DQN) to balance the energy consumption and guarantee the user quality of service (QoS) demand in downlink CRAN. We first formulate the Markov decision process (MDP) for energy efficiency (EE) and build up a 3-layer CNN to capture the environment feature as an input state space. We then use DQN to turn on/off the RRHs dynamically based on the user QoS demand and energy consumption in the CRAN. Finally, we solve the RA problem based on the user constraint and transmit power to guarantee the user QoS demand and maximize the EE with a minimum number of active RRHs. In the end, we conduct the simulation to compare our proposed scheme with nature DQN and the traditional approach.展开更多

This control strategy is an intelligent learning method of posture adjustment. A robot is taken as an agent and trained to walk steadily on an uneven surface with obstacles, using a simple reward function based on forward progress. The reward-punishment (RP) mechanism of the DQN algorithm is established after obtaining the offline gait which was generated in advance foot trajectory planning. Instead of implementing a complex dynamic model, the proposed method enables the biped robot to learn to adjust its posture on the uneven ground and ensures walking stability. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm was validated in the V-REP simulation environment. The results demonstrate that the biped robot's lateral tile angle is less than 3° after implementing the proposed method and the walking stability is obviously improved.展开更多

Glaucoma is characterized by the progressive loss of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs),although the pathogenic mechanism remains largely unknown.To study the mechanism and assess RGC degradation,mouse models are often use...Glaucoma is characterized by the progressive loss of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs),although the pathogenic mechanism remains largely unknown.To study the mechanism and assess RGC degradation,mouse models are often used to simulate human glaucoma and specific markers are used to label and quantify RGCs.However,manually counting RGCs is time-consuming and prone to distortion due to subjective bias.Furthermore,semi-automated counting methods can produce significant differences due to different parameters,thereby failing objective evaluation.Here,to improve counting accuracy and efficiency,we developed an automated algorithm based on the improved YOLOv5 model,which uses five channels instead of one,with a squeeze-and-excitation block added.The complete number of RGCs in an intact mouse retina was obtained by dividing the retina into small overlapping areas and counting,and then merging the divided areas using a non-maximum suppression algorithm.The automated quantification results showed very strong correlation (mean Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.993) with manual counting.Importantly,the model achieved an average precision of 0.981.Furthermore,the graphics processing unit (GPU) calculation time for each retina was less than 1 min.The developed software has been uploaded online as a free and convenient tool for studies using mouse models of glaucoma,which should help elucidate disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutics.展开更多

Additionally, distributed generations are used for self-consumption with excess energy injected into centralized grids (CGs). However, the improper sizing of renewable energy systems (RESs) exposes the entire system to power losses. This work presents an optimization of a system consisting of distributed generations. Firstly, PSO algorithms evaluate the size of the entire system on the IEEE bus 14 test standard. Secondly, the size of the system is allocated using improved Particles Swarm Optimization (IPSO). The convergence speed of the objective function enables a conjecture to be made about the robustness of the proposed system. The power and voltage profile on the IEEE 14-bus standard displays a decrease in power losses and an appropriate response to energy demands (EDs), validating the proposed method.展开更多
Three recent breakthroughs due to AI in arts and science serve as motivation:An award winning digital image,protein folding,fast matrix multiplication.Many recent developments in artificial neural networks,particularl...Three recent breakthroughs due to AI in arts and science serve as motivation:An award winning digital image,protein folding,fast matrix multiplication.Many recent developments in artificial neural networks,particularly deep learning(DL),applied and relevant to computational mechanics(solid,fluids,finite-element technology)are reviewed in detail.Both hybrid and pure machine learning(ML)methods are discussed.Hybrid methods combine traditional PDE discretizations with ML methods either(1)to help model complex nonlinear constitutive relations,(2)to nonlinearly reduce the model order for efficient simulation(turbulence),or(3)to accelerate the simulation by predicting certain components in the traditional integration methods.Here,methods(1)and(2)relied on Long-Short-Term Memory(LSTM)architecture,with method(3)relying on convolutional neural networks.Pure ML methods to solve(nonlinear)PDEs are represented by Physics-Informed Neural network(PINN)methods,which could be combined with attention mechanism to address discontinuous solutions.Both LSTM and attention architectures,together with modern and generalized classic optimizers to include stochasticity for DL networks,are extensively reviewed.Kernel machines,including Gaussian processes,are provided to sufficient depth for more advanced works such as shallow networks with infinite width.Not only addressing experts,readers are assumed familiar with computational mechanics,but not with DL,whose concepts and applications are built up from the basics,aiming at bringing first-time learners quickly to the forefront of research.History and limitations of AI are recounted and discussed,with particular attention at pointing out misstatements or misconceptions of the classics,even in well-known references.Positioning and pointing control of a large-deformable beam is given as an example.展开更多

文摘With the rapid development ofmobile Internet,spatial crowdsourcing has becomemore andmore popular.Spatial crowdsourcing consists of many different types of applications,such as spatial crowd-sensing services.In terms of spatial crowd-sensing,it collects and analyzes traffic sensing data from clients like vehicles and traffic lights to construct intelligent traffic prediction models.Besides collecting sensing data,spatial crowdsourcing also includes spatial delivery services like DiDi and Uber.Appropriate task assignment and worker selection dominate the service quality for spatial crowdsourcing applications.Previous research conducted task assignments via traditional matching approaches or using simple network models.However,advanced mining methods are lacking to explore the relationship between workers,task publishers,and the spatio-temporal attributes in tasks.Therefore,in this paper,we propose a Deep Double Dueling Spatial-temporal Q Network(D3SQN)to adaptively learn the spatialtemporal relationship between task,task publishers,and workers in a dynamic environment to achieve optimal allocation.Specifically,D3SQNis revised through reinforcement learning by adding a spatial-temporal transformer that can estimate the expected state values and action advantages so as to improve the accuracy of task assignments.Extensive experiments are conducted over real data collected fromDiDi and ELM,and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of our proposed models.

文摘For underwater robots in the process of performing target detection tasks,the color distortion and the uneven quality of underwater images lead to great difficulties in the feature extraction process of the model,which is prone to issues like error detection,omission detection,and poor accuracy.Therefore,this paper proposed the CER-YOLOv7(CBAM-EIOU-RepVGG-YOLOv7)underwater target detection algorithm.To improve the algorithm’s capability to retain valid features from both spatial and channel perspectives during the feature extraction phase,we have added a Convolutional Block Attention Module(CBAM)to the backbone network.The Reparameterization Visual Geometry Group(RepVGG)module is inserted into the backbone to improve the training and inference capabilities.The Efficient Intersection over Union(EIoU)loss is also used as the localization loss function,which reduces the error detection rate and missed detection rate of the algorithm.The experimental results of the CER-YOLOv7 algorithm on the UPRC(Underwater Robot Prototype Competition)dataset show that the mAP(mean Average Precision)score of the algorithm is 86.1%,which is a 2.2%improvement compared to the YOLOv7.The feasibility and validity of the CER-YOLOv7 are proved through ablation and comparison experiments,and it is more suitable for underwater target detection.

文摘With new developments experienced in Internet of Things(IoT),wearable,and sensing technology,the value of healthcare services has enhanced.This evolution has brought significant changes from conventional medicine-based healthcare to real-time observation-based healthcare.Biomedical Electrocardiogram(ECG)signals are generally utilized in examination and diagnosis of Cardiovascular Diseases(CVDs)since it is quick and non-invasive in nature.Due to increasing number of patients in recent years,the classifier efficiency gets reduced due to high variances observed in ECG signal patterns obtained from patients.In such scenario computer-assisted automated diagnostic tools are important for classification of ECG signals.The current study devises an Improved Bat Algorithm with Deep Learning Based Biomedical ECGSignal Classification(IBADL-BECGC)approach.To accomplish this,the proposed IBADL-BECGC model initially pre-processes the input signals.Besides,IBADL-BECGC model applies NasNet model to derive the features from test ECG signals.In addition,Improved Bat Algorithm(IBA)is employed to optimally fine-tune the hyperparameters related to NasNet approach.Finally,Extreme Learning Machine(ELM)classification algorithm is executed to perform ECG classification method.The presented IBADL-BECGC model was experimentally validated utilizing benchmark dataset.The comparison study outcomes established the improved performance of IBADL-BECGC model over other existing methodologies since the former achieved a maximum accuracy of 97.49%.

文摘Applied linguistics means a wide range of actions which include addressing a few language-based problems or solving some language-based concerns.Emails stay in the leading positions for business as well as personal use.This popularity grabs the interest of individuals with malevolent inten-tions—phishing and spam email assaults.Email filtering mechanisms were developed incessantly to follow unwanted,malicious content advancement to protect the end-users.But prevailing solutions were focused on phishing email filtering and spam and whereas email labelling and analysis were not fully advanced.Thus,this study provides a solution related to email message body text automatic classification into phishing and email spam.This paper presents an Improved Fruitfly Optimization with Stacked Residual Recurrent Neural Network(IFFO-SRRNN)based on Applied Linguistics for Email Classification.The presented IFFO-SRRNN technique examines the intrinsic features of email for the identification of spam emails.At the preliminary level,the IFFO-SRRNN model follows the email pre-processing stage to make it compatible with further computation.Next,the SRRNN method can be useful in recognizing and classifying spam emails.As hyperparameters of the SRRNN model need to be effectually tuned,the IFFO algorithm can be utilized as a hyperparameter optimizer.To investigate the effectual email classification results of the IFFO-SRDL technique,a series of simulations were taken placed on public datasets,and the comparison outcomes highlight the enhancements of the IFFO-SRDL method over other recent approaches with an accuracy of 98.86%.

文摘Dynamic path planning is crucial for mobile robots to navigate successfully in unstructured envi-ronments.To achieve globally optimal path and real-time dynamic obstacle avoidance during the movement,a dynamic path planning algorithm incorporating improved IB-RRT∗and deep reinforce-ment learning(DRL)is proposed.Firstly,an improved IB-RRT∗algorithm is proposed for global path planning by combining double elliptic subset sampling and probabilistic central circle target bi-as.Then,to tackle the slow response to dynamic obstacles and inadequate obstacle avoidance of tra-ditional local path planning algorithms,deep reinforcement learning is utilized to predict the move-ment trend of dynamic obstacles,leading to a dynamic fusion path planning.Finally,the simulation and experiment results demonstrate that the proposed improved IB-RRT∗algorithm has higher con-vergence speed and search efficiency compared with traditional Bi-RRT∗,Informed-RRT∗,and IB-RRT∗algorithms.Furthermore,the proposed fusion algorithm can effectively perform real-time obsta-cle avoidance and navigation tasks for mobile robots in unstructured environments.
文摘With the advent of Reinforcement Learning(RL)and its continuous progress,state-of-the-art RL systems have come up for many challenging and real-world tasks.Given the scope of this area,various techniques are found in the literature.One such notable technique,Multiple Deep Q-Network(DQN)based RL systems use multiple DQN-based-entities,which learn together and communicate with each other.The learning has to be distributed wisely among all entities in such a scheme and the inter-entity communication protocol has to be carefully designed.As more complex DQNs come to the fore,the overall complexity of these multi-entity systems has increased many folds leading to issues like difficulty in training,need for high resources,more training time,and difficulty in fine-tuning leading to performance issues.Taking a cue from the parallel processing found in the nature and its efficacy,we propose a lightweight ensemble based approach for solving the core RL tasks.It uses multiple binary action DQNs having shared state and reward.The benefits of the proposed approach are overall simplicity,faster convergence and better performance compared to conventional DQN based approaches.The approach can potentially be extended to any type of DQN by forming its ensemble.Conducting extensive experimentation,promising results are obtained using the proposed ensemble approach on OpenAI Gym tasks,and Atari 2600 games as compared to recent techniques.The proposed approach gives a stateof-the-art score of 500 on the Cartpole-v1 task,259.2 on the LunarLander-v2 task,and state-of-the-art results on four out of five Atari 2600 games.

文摘Plant species recognition is an important research area in image recognition in recent years.However,the existing plant species recognition methods have low recognition accuracy and do not meet professional requirements in terms of recognition accuracy.Therefore,ShuffleNetV2 was improved by combining the current hot concern mechanism,convolution kernel size adjustment,convolution tailoring,and CSP technology to improve the accuracy and reduce the amount of computation in this study.Six convolutional neural network models with sufficient trainable parameters were designed for differentiation learning.The SGD algorithm is used to optimize the training process to avoid overfitting or falling into the local optimum.In this paper,a conventional plant image dataset TJAU10 collected by cell phones in a natural context was constructed,containing 3000 images of 10 plant species on the campus of Tianjin Agricultural University.Finally,the improved model is compared with the baseline version of the model,which achieves better results in terms of improving accuracy and reducing the computational effort.The recognition accuracy tested on the TJAU10 dataset reaches up to 98.3%,and the recognition precision reaches up to 93.6%,which is 5.1%better than the original model and reduces the computational effort by about 31%compared with the original model.In addition,the experimental results were evaluated using metrics such as the confusion matrix,which can meet the requirements of professionals for the accurate identification of plant species.

文摘Fracturing fluid property play a critical role in developing unconventional reservoirs.Deep eutectic solvents(DESs)show fascinating potential for property improvement of clean fracturing fluids(CFFs)due to their low-price,low-toxicity,chemical stability and flexible designability.In this work,DESs were synthesized by mixing hydrogen bond acceptors(HBAs)and a given hydrogen bond donor(HBD)to explore their underlying influence on CFF properties based on the intermolecular interactions.The hydrogen-bonding,van der Waals and electrostatic interactions between DES components and surfactants improved the CFF properties by promoting the arrangement of surfactants at interface and enhancing the micelle network strength.The HBD enhanced the resistance of CFF for Ca^(2+) due to coordination-bonding interaction.The DESs composed of choline chloride(ChCl)and malonic acid show great enhancement for surface,rheology,temperature resistance,salt tolerance,drag reduction,and gel-breaking performance of CFFs.The DESs also improved the gel-breaking CFF-oil interactions,increasing the imbibition efficiencies to 44.2%in 74 h.Adjusting HBAs can effectively strengthen the intermolecular interactions(e.g.,HBA-surfactant and HBD-surfactant interactions)to improve CFF properties.The DESs developed in this study provide a novel strategy to intensify CFF properties.
文摘In a rechargeable wireless sensor network,utilizing the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)as a mobile base station(BS)to charge sensors and collect data effectively prolongs the network’s lifetime.In this paper,we jointly optimize the UAV’s flight trajectory and the sensor selection and operation modes to maximize the average data traffic of all sensors within a wireless sensor network(WSN)during finite UAV’s flight time,while ensuring the energy required for each sensor by wireless power transfer(WPT).We consider a practical scenario,where the UAV has no prior knowledge of sensor locations.The UAV performs autonomous navigation based on the status information obtained within the coverage area,which is modeled as a Markov decision process(MDP).The deep Q-network(DQN)is employed to execute the navigation based on the UAV position,the battery level state,channel conditions and current data traffic of sensors within the UAV’s coverage area.Our simulation results demonstrate that the DQN algorithm significantly improves the network performance in terms of the average data traffic and trajectory design.

文摘The Internet of Medical Things(Io MT) is regarded as a critical technology for intelligent healthcare in the foreseeable 6G era. Nevertheless, due to the limited computing power capability of edge devices and task-related coupling relationships, Io MT faces unprecedented challenges. Considering the associative connections among tasks, this paper proposes a computing offloading policy for multiple-user devices(UDs) considering device-to-device(D2D) communication and a multi-access edge computing(MEC)technique under the scenario of Io MT. Specifically,to minimize the total delay and energy consumption concerning the requirement of Io MT, we first analyze and model the detailed local execution, MEC execution, D2D execution, and associated tasks offloading exchange model. Consequently, the associated tasks’ offloading scheme of multi-UDs is formulated as a mixed-integer nonconvex optimization problem. Considering the advantages of deep reinforcement learning(DRL) in processing tasks related to coupling relationships, a Double DQN based associative tasks computing offloading(DDATO) algorithm is then proposed to obtain the optimal solution, which can make the best offloading decision under the condition that tasks of UDs are associative. Furthermore, to reduce the complexity of the DDATO algorithm, the cacheaided procedure is intentionally introduced before the data training process. This avoids redundant offloading and computing procedures concerning tasks that previously have already been cached by other UDs. In addition, we use a dynamic ε-greedy strategy in the action selection section of the algorithm, thus preventing the algorithm from falling into a locally optimal solution. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with other existing methods for associative task models concerning different structures in the Io MT network, the proposed algorithm can lower the total cost more effectively and efficiently while also providing a tradeoff between delay and energy consumption tolerance.
文摘In the classification problem,deep kernel extreme learning machine(DKELM)has the characteristics of efficient processing and superior performance,but its parameters optimization is difficult.To improve the classification accuracy of DKELM,a DKELM algorithm optimized by the improved sparrow search algorithm(ISSA),named as ISSA-DKELM,is proposed in this paper.Aiming at the parameter selection problem of DKELM,the DKELM classifier is constructed by using the optimal parameters obtained by ISSA optimization.In order to make up for the shortcomings of the basic sparrow search algorithm(SSA),the chaotic transformation is first applied to initialize the sparrow position.Then,the position of the discoverer sparrow population is dynamically adjusted.A learning operator in the teaching-learning-based algorithm is fused to improve the position update operation of the joiners.Finally,the Gaussian mutation strategy is added in the later iteration of the algorithm to make the sparrow jump out of local optimum.The experimental results show that the proposed DKELM classifier is feasible and effective,and compared with other classification algorithms,the proposed DKELM algorithm aciheves better test accuracy.

文摘The recent surge of mobile subscribers and user data traffic has accelerated the telecommunication sector towards the adoption of the fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks. Cloud radio access network (CRAN) is a prominent framework in the 5G mobile network to meet the above requirements by deploying low-cost and intelligent multiple distributed antennas known as remote radio heads (RRHs). However, achieving the optimal resource allocation (RA) in CRAN using the traditional approach is still challenging due to the complex structure. In this paper, we introduce the convolutional neural network-based deep Q-network (CNN-DQN) to balance the energy consumption and guarantee the user quality of service (QoS) demand in downlink CRAN. We first formulate the Markov decision process (MDP) for energy efficiency (EE) and build up a 3-layer CNN to capture the environment feature as an input state space. We then use DQN to turn on/off the RRHs dynamically based on the user QoS demand and energy consumption in the CRAN. Finally, we solve the RA problem based on the user constraint and transmit power to guarantee the user QoS demand and maximize the EE with a minimum number of active RRHs. In the end, we conduct the simulation to compare our proposed scheme with nature DQN and the traditional approach.

文摘A gait control method for a biped robot based on the deep Q-network (DQN) algorithm is proposed to enhance the stability of walking on uneven ground. This control strategy is an intelligent learning method of posture adjustment. A robot is taken as an agent and trained to walk steadily on an uneven surface with obstacles, using a simple reward function based on forward progress. The reward-punishment (RP) mechanism of the DQN algorithm is established after obtaining the offline gait which was generated in advance foot trajectory planning. Instead of implementing a complex dynamic model, the proposed method enables the biped robot to learn to adjust its posture on the uneven ground and ensures walking stability. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm was validated in the V-REP simulation environment. The results demonstrate that the biped robot's lateral tile angle is less than 3° after implementing the proposed method and the walking stability is obviously improved.

文摘Federated learning(FL)activates distributed on-device computation techniques to model a better algorithm performance with the interaction of local model updates and global model distributions in aggregation averaging processes.However,in large-scale heterogeneous Internet of Things(IoT)cellular networks,massive multi-dimensional model update iterations and resource-constrained computation are challenging aspects to be tackled significantly.This paper introduces the system model of converging softwaredefined networking(SDN)and network functions virtualization(NFV)to enable device/resource abstractions and provide NFV-enabled edge FL(eFL)aggregation servers for advancing automation and controllability.Multi-agent deep Q-networks(MADQNs)target to enforce a self-learning softwarization,optimize resource allocation policies,and advocate computation offloading decisions.With gathered network conditions and resource states,the proposed agent aims to explore various actions for estimating expected longterm rewards in a particular state observation.In exploration phase,optimal actions for joint resource allocation and offloading decisions in different possible states are obtained by maximum Q-value selections.Action-based virtual network functions(VNF)forwarding graph(VNFFG)is orchestrated to map VNFs towards eFL aggregation server with sufficient communication and computation resources in NFV infrastructure(NFVI).The proposed scheme indicates deficient allocation actions,modifies the VNF backup instances,and reallocates the virtual resource for exploitation phase.Deep neural network(DNN)is used as a value function approximator,and epsilongreedy algorithm balances exploration and exploitation.The scheme primarily considers the criticalities of FL model services and congestion states to optimize long-term policy.Simulation results presented the outperformance of the proposed scheme over reference schemes in terms of Quality of Service(QoS)performance metrics,including packet drop ratio,packet drop counts,packet delivery ratio,delay,and throughput.

文摘Glaucoma is characterized by the progressive loss of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs),although the pathogenic mechanism remains largely unknown.To study the mechanism and assess RGC degradation,mouse models are often used to simulate human glaucoma and specific markers are used to label and quantify RGCs.However,manually counting RGCs is time-consuming and prone to distortion due to subjective bias.Furthermore,semi-automated counting methods can produce significant differences due to different parameters,thereby failing objective evaluation.Here,to improve counting accuracy and efficiency,we developed an automated algorithm based on the improved YOLOv5 model,which uses five channels instead of one,with a squeeze-and-excitation block added.The complete number of RGCs in an intact mouse retina was obtained by dividing the retina into small overlapping areas and counting,and then merging the divided areas using a non-maximum suppression algorithm.The automated quantification results showed very strong correlation (mean Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.993) with manual counting.Importantly,the model achieved an average precision of 0.981.Furthermore,the graphics processing unit (GPU) calculation time for each retina was less than 1 min.The developed software has been uploaded online as a free and convenient tool for studies using mouse models of glaucoma,which should help elucidate disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutics.

文摘The human motion data collected using wearables like smartwatches can be used for activity recognition and emergency event detection.This is especially applicable in the case of elderly or disabled people who live self-reliantly in their homes.These sensors produce a huge volume of physical activity data that necessitates real-time recognition,especially during emergencies.Falling is one of the most important problems confronted by older people and people with movement disabilities.Numerous previous techniques were introduced and a few used webcam to monitor the activity of elderly or disabled people.But,the costs incurred upon installation and operation are high,whereas the technology is relevant only for indoor environments.Currently,commercial wearables use a wireless emergency transmitter that produces a number of false alarms and restricts a user’s movements.Against this background,the current study develops an Improved WhaleOptimizationwithDeep Learning-Enabled Fall Detection for Disabled People(IWODL-FDDP)model.The presented IWODL-FDDP model aims to identify the fall events to assist disabled people.The presented IWODLFDDP model applies an image filtering approach to pre-process the image.Besides,the EfficientNet-B0 model is utilized to generate valuable feature vector sets.Next,the Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory(BiLSTM)model is used for the recognition and classification of fall events.Finally,the IWO method is leveraged to fine-tune the hyperparameters related to the BiLSTM method,which shows the novelty of the work.The experimental analysis outcomes established the superior performance of the proposed IWODL-FDDP method with a maximum accuracy of 97.02%.

文摘Manual inspection of fruit diseases is a time-consuming and costly because it is based on naked-eye observation.The authors present computer vision techniques for detecting and classifying fruit leaf diseases.Examples of computer vision techniques are preprocessing original images for visualization of infected regions,feature extraction from raw or segmented images,feature fusion,feature selection,and classification.The following are the major challenges identified by researchers in the literature:(i)lowcontrast infected regions extract irrelevant and redundant information,which misleads classification accuracy;(ii)irrelevant and redundant information may increase computational time and reduce the designed model’s accuracy.This paper proposed a framework for fruit leaf disease classification based on deep hierarchical learning and best feature selection.In the proposed framework,contrast is first improved using a hybrid approach,and then data augmentation is used to solve the problem of an imbalanced dataset.The next step is to use a pre-trained deep model named Darknet53 and fine-tune it.Next,deep transfer learning-based training is carried out,and features are extracted using an activation function on the average pooling layer.Finally,an improved butterfly optimization algorithm is proposed,which selects the best features for classification using machine learning classifiers.The experiment was carried out on augmented and original fruit datasets,yielding a maximum accuracy of 99.6%for apple diseases,99.6%for grapes,99.9%for peach diseases,and 100%for cherry diseases.The overall average achieved accuracy is 99.7%,higher than previous techniques.
文摘The integration of distributed generations (DGs) into distribution systems (DSs) is increasingly becoming a solution for compensating for isolated local energy systems (ILESs). Additionally, distributed generations are used for self-consumption with excess energy injected into centralized grids (CGs). However, the improper sizing of renewable energy systems (RESs) exposes the entire system to power losses. This work presents an optimization of a system consisting of distributed generations. Firstly, PSO algorithms evaluate the size of the entire system on the IEEE bus 14 test standard. Secondly, the size of the system is allocated using improved Particles Swarm Optimization (IPSO). The convergence speed of the objective function enables a conjecture to be made about the robustness of the proposed system. The power and voltage profile on the IEEE 14-bus standard displays a decrease in power losses and an appropriate response to energy demands (EDs), validating the proposed method.
文摘Three recent breakthroughs due to AI in arts and science serve as motivation:An award winning digital image,protein folding,fast matrix multiplication.Many recent developments in artificial neural networks,particularly deep learning(DL),applied and relevant to computational mechanics(solid,fluids,finite-element technology)are reviewed in detail.Both hybrid and pure machine learning(ML)methods are discussed.Hybrid methods combine traditional PDE discretizations with ML methods either(1)to help model complex nonlinear constitutive relations,(2)to nonlinearly reduce the model order for efficient simulation(turbulence),or(3)to accelerate the simulation by predicting certain components in the traditional integration methods.Here,methods(1)and(2)relied on Long-Short-Term Memory(LSTM)architecture,with method(3)relying on convolutional neural networks.Pure ML methods to solve(nonlinear)PDEs are represented by Physics-Informed Neural network(PINN)methods,which could be combined with attention mechanism to address discontinuous solutions.Both LSTM and attention architectures,together with modern and generalized classic optimizers to include stochasticity for DL networks,are extensively reviewed.Kernel machines,including Gaussian processes,are provided to sufficient depth for more advanced works such as shallow networks with infinite width.Not only addressing experts,readers are assumed familiar with computational mechanics,but not with DL,whose concepts and applications are built up from the basics,aiming at bringing first-time learners quickly to the forefront of research.History and limitations of AI are recounted and discussed,with particular attention at pointing out misstatements or misconceptions of the classics,even in well-known references.Positioning and pointing control of a large-deformable beam is given as an example.
