As grape polyphenol was water soluble, the spray drying method was adopted to obtain the higher content. As the shell material of the first microcapsules prepared by the spray drying method, palmitic acid with the melting point of 60°C was adopted in order to prevent grape polyphenol from dissolution into water. As the shell material of the second microcapsules prepared by the layer-by-layer method, chitosan was used to coat the first microcapsules and to give the microcapsules alcohol resistance. In the experiment, the spray drying conditions such as the inlet temperature and the spraying pressure, the oil soluble surfactant species and the chitosan concentration were changed. The mean diameters of microcapsules could be controlled in the range from 5 μm to 35 μm by changing the spraying pressure and the inlet temperature. The yield of microcapsules and the microencapsulation efficiency over 50% could be obtained under the conditions of P = 1.0 kgf/cm2 and Tin = 100°C. Furthermore, the microencapsulation efficiency could be increased by adding the oil soluble surfactant with the larger HLB value. Coating with chitosan could considerably increase alcohol resistance.展开更多

Forty three samples of dry salted fish ...This study was carried out to investigate the biogenic amines(BAs), physicochemical property and microorganisms in dry salted fish, a traditional aquatic food consumed in China. Forty three samples of dry salted fish were gathered from retail and wholesale markets and manufacturers, which had been produced in various regions in China. Cadaverine(CAD) and putrescine(PUT) were quantitatively the most common biogenic amines. About 14% of the samples exceeded the histamine content standards established by the FDA and/or EU. The highest histamine content was found in Silver pomfret(Pampus argenteus)(347.79 mg kg^(-1)). Five of forty three samples exceeded the acceptable content of TYR(100 mg kg^(-1)), and 23.26% of dried-salted fish contained high contents of biogenic amines(above 600 mg kg^(-1)). In addition, species, regions, pickling processes and drying methods made the physicochemical property, microorganisms and biogenic amines in dry salted fish to be different to some extents. The total plate count(TPC) was much higher than that of total halophilic bacteria in all samples. The biogenic amines, physicochemical property and microbiological counts exhibited large variations among samples. Furthermore, no significant correlation between biogenic amines and physicochemical property and TPC was observed. This study indicated that dry salted fish may still present healthy risk for BAs, depending on the processing methods, storage conditions among others.展开更多
Objective:Inflammatory skin diseases were proved to be associated with dry skin-induced pruritus.However,the relationship between skin inflammation,skin barrier function,and pruritus remains unclarified.The present st...Objective:Inflammatory skin diseases were proved to be associated with dry skin-induced pruritus.However,the relationship between skin inflammation,skin barrier function,and pruritus remains unclarified.The present study aimed to explore this relationship using an acetone-ether-water(AEW)mouse model,and to investigate the anti-itch effects of the combined application ofβ-glucan and panthenol in a moisturizing spray in this mouse model.Methods:A dry skin-induced chronic pruritus mouse model was established by repeated AEW treatment of the skin.The pruritic behavior,skin barrier function,and expression of molecules related to pruritus and inflammation in topical lesions were measured.The effects of a spray containingβ-glucan and panthenol were observed.Thet test and one-way analysis of variance were used to evaluate differences between groups.Results:AEW treatment triggered spontaneous scratching with significantly increased numbers of scratching bouts,and disrupted the skin barrier with a significant increase in transepidermal water loss values and a significant decrease in filaggrin gene(FLG)expression(allP<0.01).AEW treatment also significantly increased the expression of NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3,apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD,caspase-1,interleukin-1β,and tumor necrosis factor-α,as well as the pruritus-associated molecules nerve growth factor,cathepsin S,and thymic stromal lymphopoietin in the skin(allP<0.01).Application of the spray containingβ-glucan and panthenol significantly alleviated these responses,resulting in a reduced number of scratching bouts in 1 hour,reduced transepidermal water loss values,increased filaggrin mRNA expression,and reduced mRNA levels of NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3,apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD,caspase-1,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,cathepsin S,thymic stromal lymphopoietin,and nerve growth factor in skin lesions(allP<0.05).Conclusion:The present results suggest a relationship between damaged skin barrier function,pruritus,and inflammation.Addingβ-glucan and panthenol to moisturizing skincare products may alleviate pruritus induced by dry skin,improve the damaged skin barrier function,and reduce the inflammatory state in local skin areas.展开更多
