This paper aims to improve the location-weighted landscape contrast index using remote sensing and GIS technology to account for the effects of scale and ecological processes. The hydrological response unit(HRU) with a single land use and soil type was used as the smallest unit. The relationship between the landscape index and typical ecological processes was established by describing the influence of the landscape pattern on non-point source pollution. To verify the research method, this paper used the Yanshi River basin as a study area. The results showed that the relative intensity of non-point source pollution in different regions of the watershed and the location-weighted landscape contrast index based on the minimum HRU can qualitatively reflect the risk of regional nutrient loss.展开更多

The spontaneous emission is enhanced at the band edges and inhibits in the band gap, which agree well with the theoretical analysis on the redistribution of the fractional local density of optical states.展开更多

Instead of a fixed quantization step-size,we apply a step-size adapted to image content in each 8×8 block to make a balance of robust extraction and transparent embedding. The modified step-size is determined by contrast masking thresholds of Watson’s perceptual model. From a normalized crossed-correlation value between the original watermark and the detected watermark,we could observe that our method is robust to attacks of additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN),Salt and Pepper noise and Joint Photographic Experts Group(JPEG) compression than the original QIM.By taking into account the contrast insensitivity and visible thresholds of human visual system, the suggested improvement achieves a maximum embedding strength and an appropriate quantization step-size which is consistent with local values of a host signal.展开更多

In this paper, to improve the quality of segmented images, a simple and effective multilevel thresholding method is introduced. The proposed approach focuses on preserving edge detail by computing the 3 D Otsu along the fusion phenomena. The advantages of the presented scheme include higher quality outcomes, better preservation of tiny details and boundaries and reduced execution time with rising threshold levels. The fusion approach depends upon the differences between pixel intensity values within a small local space of an image;it aims to improve localized information after the thresholding process. The fusion of images based on local contrast can improve image segmentation performance by minimizing the loss of local contrast, loss of details and gray-level distributions. Results show that the proposed method yields more promising segmentation results when compared to conventional1 D Otsu, 2 D Otsu and 3 D Otsu methods, as evident from the objective and subjective evaluations.展开更多
