"Made in China" Reflects Low Added-value in Global Industrial Divisions

The Belle Corporation is a Chinese domestic shoe maker and seller. It also belongs to an industry that has come to be representative of the ubiquitous "Made in China" label. One of the main reasons the company is favored by global investors is due to its unique business pattern-a pattern that sets manufacturing as its base and is active in exploring industrial chain downstream links and establishing its own individual retail channels. Ever since its first inception in the stock market, Belle has set out to acquire several upstream manufacturing companies, indicating its desire for increasing channel terminals. Using a vertically integrated competition strategy, Belle stands out amongst its rivals as being particularly successful in the non-mainstream manufacturing sector. Consequently, its business practices can be used as a model for other domestic manufacturing companies in their efforts to meet the challenges posed by globalization.

On the Industrial Division and Coordinated Development in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a young but vigorous international city cluster with a complete industrial system and is taking the lead in China’s economic development.This paper analyzes the economic and industrial development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and measures the industrial agglomeration index and homogeneity index among different cities in the area.After our analysis,we found that the cities in the area showed apparent differences in their economic development levels.Therefore,this paper suggests improving the competitiveness of the Greater Bay Area through systematic division and collaboration of industries,further achieving rational industrial structure and high-quality economic development.

Analysis on the Theoretical Basis of Rural Revitalization Strategy

The rural revitalization strategy represents a quantum leap in both the theory and practice of rural development in China,and serves as a crucial solution to address the array of challenges facing rural areas.Multi-dimensionally,the rural revitalization strategy sets out the general requirements of“building rural areas with thriving businesses,pleasant living environments,good social civility,effective governance,and prosperity,”which echo the measures of new urbanization:efficient,green,humanistic,well-governed,and inclusive.Specifically,“building rural areas with prosperity”aligns with the development requirement of urban-rural dual structure theory;“building rural areas with thriving businesses”meets the development requirement of the industrial division of labor and integration theory;“building rural areas with pleasant living environments and good social civility”follows the development requirement of sustainable development theory;and“building rural areas with effective governance”tallies with the development requirement of rural governance theory.Urbanization theory,urban-rural dual structure theory,the industrial division of labor and integration theory,sustainable development theory,and rural governance theory serve as crucial theoretical references for the rural revitalization strategy,helping make clear its conceptual underpinnings.
