Comparison study on measurement of rail weld joint between inertial reference method and multi-point chord reference method

Purpose – Straightness measurement of rail weld joint is of essential importance to railway maintenance. Dueto the lack of efficient measurement equipment, there has been limited in-depth research on rail weld joint with a5-m wavelength range, leaving a significant knowledge gap in this field.Design/methodology/approach – In this study, the authors used the well-established inertial referencemethod (IR-method), and the state-of-the-art multi-point chord reference method (MCR-method). Two methodshave been applied in different types of rail straightness measurement trollies, respectively. These instrumentswere tested in a high-speed rail section within a certain region of China. The test results were ultimatelyvalidated through using traditional straightedge and feeler gauge methods as reference data to evaluate the railweld joint straightness within the 5-m wavelength range.Findings – The research reveals that IR-method and MCR-method produce reasonably similar measurementresults for wavelengths below 1 m. However, MCR-method outperforms IR-method in terms of accuracy forwavelengths exceeding 3 m. Furthermore, it was observed that IR-method, while operating at a slower speed,carries the risk of derailing and is incapable of detecting rail weld joints and low joints within the track.Originality/value – The research compare two methods’ measurement effects in a longer wavelength rangeand demonstrate the superiority of MCR-method. 展开更多

In the fields of earth observation,deep space detection,laser communication,and directional energyweapon,the target needs to be observed and pointed at accurately.Acquisition,tracking,and pointing(ATP)systems are usually designed to stabilize the line of sight(LOS)within sub-micro radian levels.In the case of an ATP system mounted on a mobile platform,angular disturbances experienced by the mobile platform will seriously affect the LOS.To overcome the problemthat the sampling frequency of detectors is usually limited and achieving several hundreds of hertz is difficult,thewide-bandwidth inertial reference system(WBIRS)and fast steeringmirror are usually integrated into ATP systems to mitigate these angular disturbances.To reduce the structural stress,a flexible support providing two rotational degrees of freedomis usually adopted for the system.However,the occurrence of resonant points within the bandwidthwill be inevitable.Measurements have to be taken to compensate these low-frequency resonant points to realize a wide bandwidth and high precision.In this paper,the lowfrequency resonant points of a systemwere simulated using finite element analysis and tested by a systemidentification method.The results show that the first-order resonance happened at 34.5 Hz with a gain of 28 dB.An improved double-T notch filter was designed and applied in a real-time system to suppress the resonance at 34.5 Hz.The experimental results show that the resonance was significantly suppressed.In particular,the resonance peak was reduced by 79.37%.In addition,the closed-loop system settling time was reduced by 36.2%. 展开更多

It is described by the Euclidean group of transformations and, in particular, its significance and importance in the approach of the algebraic Reynolds stress modelling, such as in a nonlinear K-ε model. To this end and for illustration of the effect of extended intrinsic spin tensor on turbulence modelling, we examine several recently developed nonlinear K-ε models and compare their performance in predicting the homogeneous turbulent shear flow in a rotating frame of reference with LES data. Our results and analysis indicate that, only if the deficiencies of these models and the like be well understood and properly corrected, may in the near future, more sophisticated nonlinear K-ε models be developed to better predict complex turbulent flows in a non-inertial frame of reference. 展开更多

为完成高剂量率^(192)Ir放射源参考空气比释动能率的绝对测量工作,设计了专用的辐照器及定位装置,利用医用高剂量率近距离治疗机搭建了准直的参考辐射场。参考ISO 4037等相关标准,对参考辐射场的散射、辐射野、半值层、有效能量等相关... 为完成高剂量率^(192)Ir放射源参考空气比释动能率的绝对测量工作,设计了专用的辐照器及定位装置,利用医用高剂量率近距离治疗机搭建了准直的参考辐射场。参考ISO 4037等相关标准,对参考辐射场的散射、辐射野、半值层、有效能量等相关参数进行了测量和研究。结果显示,在辐射场多个位置,环境散射份额小于主射束的0.003%;在距离放射源1.4 m的位置,辐射野直径为98 mm,尺寸大于基准石墨空腔电离室;半值层测量结果为8.224 mm(Cu),有效能量为402.8 keV,利用HPGe探测器测量的^(192)Ir能谱与模拟谱契合度良好。各项参数均满足了^(192)Ir近距离治疗源参考空气比释动能率的量值复现要求,为其绝对测量与国际比对工作打下基础。 展开更多

When the system is in the non-acceleration mode, the accelerometer measurements of the gravity and the compass measurements of the heading have observability and yield good estimates of the states. When the system is in the high dynamic mode and the bias has converged to an accurate estimate, the attitude calculation will be maintained for a long interval of time. The adaptive filter tunes its gain automatically based on the system dynamics sensed by the accelerometers to yield optimal performance. 展开更多

This article proposes a new inner attitude integration algorithm to improve attitude accuracy of the strapdown inertial attitude and heading reference system (SIAHRS) , which, by means of a Kalman filter, integrates the calculated attitude from the accelerometers in inertial measuring unit (IMU) , called damping attitudes, with those from the conventional IMU. As vehicle' s acceleration could produce damping attitude errors, the horizontal outputs from accelerometers are firstly used to judge the vehicle' s motion so as to determine whether the damping attitudes could be reasonably applied. This article also analyzes the limitation of this approach. Furthermore, it suggests a residual chi-square test to judge the validity of damping attitude measurement in real time, and accordingly puts forward proper information fusion strategy. Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is proved through the experiments on a real system in dynamic and static states. 展开更多

Modelling the turbulent flows in non-inertial frames of reference has long been a challenging task. Recently we introduced the notion of the "extended intrinsic mean spin tensor" for turbulence modelling and pointed out that, when applying the Reynolds stress models developed in the inertial frame of reference to model-ling the turbulence in a non-inertial frame of reference, the mean spin tensor should be replaced by the extended intrinsic mean spin tensor to correctly account for the rotation effects induced by the non-inertial frame of reference, to conform in phys-ics with the Reynolds stress transport equation. To exemplify the approach, we conducted numerical simulations of the fully developed turbulent channel flow in a rotating frame of reference by employing four non-linear K-ε models. Our numerical results based on this approach at a wide range of Reynolds and Rossby numbers evince that, among the models tested, the non-linear K-ε model of Huang and Ma and the non-linear K-ε model of Craft, Launder and Suga can better capture the rotation effects and the resulting influence on the structures of turbulence, and therefore are satisfactorily applied to dealing with the turbulent flows of practical interest in engineering. The general approach worked out in this paper is also ap-plied to the second-moment closure and the large-eddy simulation of turbulence. 展开更多

针对目前城市轨道交通中安装于工程车辆的轨道几何参数检测系统不能真实反映列车实际在途运行时的轨道几何状态问题,研制了基于载客车辆的轨道几何参数检测系统,在列车日常载客行驶的同时,实现对轨向、轨距、水平、高低、三角坑、钢轨... 针对目前城市轨道交通中安装于工程车辆的轨道几何参数检测系统不能真实反映列车实际在途运行时的轨道几何状态问题,研制了基于载客车辆的轨道几何参数检测系统,在列车日常载客行驶的同时,实现对轨向、轨距、水平、高低、三角坑、钢轨断面磨耗等轨道几何参数的实时采集和分析。通过研究基于非接触式激光测量技术和惯性基准测量等技术,载客车上集成安装激光摄像组件及惯性测量组件,实现了钢轨外形轮廓的实时测量及各传感器的姿态跟踪测量。最后通过上位机采集软件实现了原始数据的收集、各个轨道几何参数的合成计算、检测结果报表的自动传输等功能,并在实际轨道线路上进行了各参数的人工设置障碍测试。结果表明:轨距参数检测精度小于0.8 mm,高低参数精度小于或等于1 mm,轨向、水平、三角坑参数检测精度小于或等于1.5 mm,验证了系统检测的准确性;对比分析多趟检测结果,各参数重复精度均小于0.5 mm,验证了系统具有较高的稳定性。 展开更多

车轮踏面粗糙度对基于惯性基准法的钢轨波磨检测结果影响分析

通过在地铁电客车上搭载检测设备,并基于惯性基准法实现轨道波磨快速检测已成为一种重要的技术手段。将车轮踏面粗糙度,多边形车轮以及钢轨表面粗糙度作为输入激励,建立车辆-轨道耦合多体动力学数值模型,分析车轮磨耗对基于惯性基准法... 通过在地铁电客车上搭载检测设备,并基于惯性基准法实现轨道波磨快速检测已成为一种重要的技术手段。将车轮踏面粗糙度,多边形车轮以及钢轨表面粗糙度作为输入激励,建立车辆-轨道耦合多体动力学数值模型,分析车轮磨耗对基于惯性基准法的轨道波磨检测结果的影响。研究结果表明:随着钢轨波磨的加剧,当其特征波长对应的粗糙度级超过车轮踏面粗糙度级接近20 dB时,车轮踏面粗糙度的存在对钢轨波磨特征波长幅值的检测精度影响很小;车轮踏面粗糙度与钢轨波磨特征波长接近且车轮踏面粗糙度幅值与钢轨波磨特征幅值之比大于0.5时,钢轨波磨检测结果的特征幅值显著增大。此时应及时进行车轮镟修对以保证检测结果的精确性。 展开更多
