Let S be a nonempty, proper subset of all refined inertias. Then, S is called a critical set of refined inertias for ireducible sign patterns of order n if is sufficient for any sign pattern A to be refined inertially arbitrary. If no proper subset of Sis a critical set of refined inertias, then S is a minimal critical set of refined inertias for sign patterns of order n . In this paper, all minimal critical sets of refined inertias for irreducible sign patterns of order 2 are identified. As a by-product, a new approach is presented to identify all minimal critical sets of inertias for irreducible sign patterns of order 2. 展开更多

The covariant density functional theory(CDFT)and five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian(5DCH)are used to analyze the experimental deformation parameters and moments of inertia(MoIs)of 12 triaxial nuclei as extracted by Allmond and Wood[J.M.Allmond and J.L.Wood,Phys.Lett.B 767,226(2017)].We find that the CDFT MoIs are generally smaller than the experimental values but exhibit qualitative consistency with the irrotational flow and experimental data for the relative MoIs,indicating that the intermediate axis exhibites the largest MoI.Additionally,it is found that the pairing interaction collapse could result in nuclei behaving as a rigid-body flow,as exhibited in the^(186-192)Os case.Furthermore,by incorporating enhanced CDFT MoIs(factor of f≈1.55)into the 5DCH,the experimental low-lying energy spectra and deformation parameters are reproduced successfully.Compared with both CDFT and the triaxial rotor model, the 5DCH demonstrates superior agreement with the experimental deformation parameters and low-lying energy spectra, respectively, emphasizing the importance of considering shape fluctuations. 展开更多

Axiomatization of Shannon entropy is a subject that has received lots of attention in the information theory literature. While Shannon entropy is defined on probability distribution,we define a new type of entropy on the set of partitions of finite subsets of metric spaces, which has a rich algebraic structure as a partially ordered set.We propose an axiomatization of an entropy-like measure of partitions of sets of objects located in metric spaces, and we derive an analytic expression of this new type of entropy referred to as inertial entropy. This approach starts with the notion of inertia of a partition and includes a study of the behavior of the sum of square errors of a partition. In this context,we characterize the chain of partitions produced by the Ward hierarchical clustering method.Starting from inertial entropies of partitions,we introduce conditional entropies which,in turn, generate metrics on partitions of finite sets. These metrics are used as external validation tools for clusterings of labeled data sets. The metric generated by inertial entropy can be used to validate data clustering for labeled data sets. This type of validation aims to determine to what extend labeling of the data coincides with the clustering obtained algorithmically, and we obtain a high degree of consistency of the data labeling with the results of several hierarchical clusterings. 展开更多

In the DC microgrid, the lack of inertia and damping in power electronic converters results in poor stability of DC bus voltage and low inertia of the DC microgrid during fluctuations in load and photovoltaic power. To address this issue, the application of a virtual synchronous generator(VSG)in grid-connected inverters control is referenced and proposes a control strategy called the analogous virtual synchronous generator(AVSG)control strategy for the interface DC/DC converter of the battery in the microgrid.Besides,a flexible parameter adaptive control method is introduced to further enhance the inertial behavior of the AVSG control.Firstly,a theoretical analysis is conducted on the various components of the DC microgrid, the structure of analogous virtual synchronous generator, and the control structure’s main parameters related to the DC microgrid’s inertial behavior.Secondly, the voltage change rate tracking coefficient is introduced to adjust the change of the virtual capacitance and damping coefficient flexibility, which further strengthens the inertia trend of the DC microgrid.Additionally,a small-signal modeling approach is used to analyze the approximate range of the AVSG’s main parameters ensuring system stability. Finally, conduct a simulation analysis by building the model of the DC microgrid system with photovoltaic(PV)and battery energy storage(BES)in MATLAB/Simulink.Simulation results from different scenarios have verified that the AVSG control introduces fixed inertia and damping into the droop control of the battery, resulting in a certain level of inertia enhancement.Furthermore, the additional adaptive control strategy built upon the AVSG control provides better and flexible inertial support for the DC microgrid, further enhances the stability of the DC bus voltage, and has a more positive impact on the battery performance. 展开更多

Analysis of free fall and acceleration of the mass on the Earth shows that using abstract entities such as absolute space or inertial space to explain mass dynamics leads to the violation of the principle of action and reaction. Many scientists including Newton, Mach, and Einstein recognized that inertial force has no reaction that originates on mass. Einstein calls the lack of reaction to the inertial force a serious criticism of the space-time continuum concept. Presented is the hypothesis that the inertial force develops in an interaction of two masses via the force field. The inertial force created by such a field has reaction force. The dynamic gravitational field predicted is strong enough to be detected in the laboratory. This article describes the laboratory experiment which can prove or disprove the hypothesis of the dynamic gravitational field. The inertial force, calculated using the equation for the dynamic gravitational field, agrees with the behavior of inertial force observed in the experiments on the Earth. The movement of the planets in our solar system calculated using that equation is the same as that calculated using Newton’s method. The space properties calculated by the candidate equation explain the aberration of light and the results of light propagation experiments. The dynamic gravitational field can explain the discrepancy between the observed velocity of stars in the galaxy and those predicted by Newton’s theory of gravitation without the need for the dark matter hypothesis. 展开更多

This article presents illustrations of an extended model of the electron to visualize how it spins and radiates in the external magnetic field. A time-varying magnetic field B produces a rotational induced electric field E which rotates (spins) the electron about its axis. In time-constant magnetic field: the electron radiates the cyclotron radiation. In time-varying magnetic field: synchrotron radiation is generated. The couplings between spin, acceleration and radiation will be discussed. 展开更多

The SI system of units in rotational mechanics yields correct numerical results, but it produces physically incorrect units of measure in many cases. SI units also violate the principle of general covariance—the general rule for defining continuous coordinates and units in mathematics and mathematical physics. After 30+ years of wrestling with these problems, the ultimate authority on units of measure has declared that Newton–meter and Joule are not equivalent in rotational mechanics, as they are in the rest of physics. This article proposes a simple modification to SI units called “Nonstandard International units” (“NI units”) until a better name is agreed upon. NI units yield correct numerical results and physically correct units of measure, and they satisfy the principle of general covariance. The main obstacle to the adoption of NI units is the consensus among users that the radius of rotation should have the unit meter because the radius can be measured with a ruler. NI units assigned to radius should have units meter/radian because the radius is a conversion factor between angular size and circumferential length, as in arclength = rθ. To manage the social consensus behind SI units, the author recommends retaining SI units as they are, and informing users who want correct units that NI units solve the technical problems of SI units. 展开更多

Buildings constructed with modern materials (cement blocks, sheet metal, reinforced concrete, etc.) in the Sahelian zone often generate excessive electricity consumption and consequently very high electricity bills. This study is a contribution to the development of new building types based on the principle of bioclimatic construction. The aim is to find materials suited to the Sahelian climate and improve thermal comfort. To this end, an experimental study of the hygrothermal behavior of a bioclimatic building prototype with a domed roof is being carried out. Site meteorological data, air temperature and relative humidity of the building’s internal environment were measured for three climatic seasons in Burkina Faso. The data acquisition system consists of thermocouples, solarimeters and humidity meters, and the data are processed using Excel and Origin Pro software. The results show that, despite the high temperature values (between 36˚C and 39˚C) of the internal environment measured in the hot season, good thermal performance is achieved, in particular an average phase shift of 7.17 h and an average damping of 10.81˚C. The dome-roofed building could therefore contribute to limiting heat transmission to the building interior, improving thermal comfort all year round. Analysis of humidity profiles shows that indoor humidity varies between 66% and 80% for the September period, and between 44% and 69% for the January period. The high values of internal ambient humidity could be reduced by very good ventilation of the building. This study shows that the proposed bioclimatic building prototype with domed roof could be integrated into the Sahelian habitat. 展开更多

The principal moments of inertia(PMIs)with the principal axes are usually taken as the dynamic figure parameters of Mars;they can be deduced from satellite-observed degree-two gravitational potentials in recent global gravity models and from the dynamic ellipticities resulting from precession observations. These PMIs are natural and significant for the geodetic, geophysical, and geodynamic problems of Mars, which are functions of internal density distributions. In this study,a closed and concise formula for determining the PMIs of the entire planet and its core was developed based on the second invariants of gravity and a multipole expansion. We deduced the polar oblateness J^(2)and the equatorial ellipticity J_(22)of Mars to be 1.9566×10^(−3)and 6.3106×10^(−5),respectively.The preferred principal moments of inertia of Mars are A=2.66589×1036 kg·m^(2),B=2.66775×10^(36)kg·m^(2),and C=2.68125×10^(36)kg·m^(2).These values indicate that Mar is slightly triaxial. The equatorial principal moment of inertia of the Martian core is 1.46008×10^(35)kg·m^(2),accounting for~5.47%of the planet’s PMI;this result is critical for investigating the density and size of the core of Mars, and the planet’s free core nutation. 展开更多

A robust phenomenon termed the Arctic Amplification(AA)refers to the stronger warming taking place over the Arctic compared to the global mean. The AA can be confirmed through observations and reproduced in climate model simulations and shows significant seasonality and inter-model spread. This study focuses on the influence of surface type on the seasonality of AA and its inter-model spread by dividing the Arctic region into four surface types:ice-covered,ice-retreat,ice-free,and land. The magnitude and inter-model spread of Arctic surface warming are calculated from the difference between the abrupt-4×CO_(2)and pre-industrial experiments of 17 CMIP6 models. The change of effective thermal inertia(ETI)in response to the quadrupling of CO_(2) forcing is the leading mechanism for the seasonal energy transfer mechanism, which acts to store heat temporarily in summer and then release it in winter. The ETI change is strongest over the ice-retreat region, which is also responsible for the strongest AA among the four surface types. The lack of ETI change explains the nearly uniform warming pattern across seasons over the ice-free(ocean)region.Compared to other regions, the ice-covered region shows the maximum inter-model spread in JFM,resulting from a stronger inter-model spread in the oceanic heat storage term. However, the weaker upward surface turbulent sensible and latent heat fluxes tend to suppress the inter-model spread. The relatively small inter-model spread during summer is caused by the cancellation of the inter-model spread in ice-albedo feedback with that in the oceanic heat storage term. 展开更多

With the penetration of a large number of photovoltaic power generation units and power electronic converters, the DC microgrid shows low inertia characteristics, which might affect the stable operation of the microgrid in extreme cases. In order to enhance the“flexible features”of the interface converter connected to the DC bus,a control strategy of DCmicrogrid with photovoltaic and energy storage based on the virtual DC generator(VDCG)is proposed in this paper. The interface converters of the photovoltaic power generation system and the energy storage system simulates the inertia and damping characteristics of the DC generator to improve the stability of the DC bus voltage. The impedance ratio of DC microgrid was obtained by establishing the small-signal model of photovoltaic power generation system and energy storage system, and the Nyquist curves was applied to analyze the small-signal stability of the system. Finally, the simulation results were verified with MATLAB/Simulink.The results show that the proposed control strategy can slow down the fluctuation of bus voltage under the conditions of photovoltaic power fluctuation and load mutation, thus enhancing the system stability. 展开更多

This study mainly uses the concept of the Internet of Things(IoT)to establish a smart house with an indoor, comfortable, environmental, and real-time monitoring system. In the smart house, this investigation employed the temperature-and humidity-sensing module and the lightness module to monitor any con-dition for an intelligent-living house. The data of temperature, humidity, and lightness are transmitted wirelessly to the human-machine interface. The correlation of the weight of the extension theory is used to analyze the ideal and comfortable environment so that people in the indoor environment can feel better thermal comfort and lightness. In this study, improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)is employed—an effective evolutionary method used to search the function extreme. It is simple and has a fast convergence. The convergence accuracy of this algorithm is not high at the beginning, and it can easily fall into the local extreme points. The effect of the inertia weight in mix extension theory and PSO becomes IPSO-Extension Neural Network(ENN),which was analyzed and found reliable.Motivated by the idea of power function,a new non-linear strategy for decreasing inertia weight(DIW)was proposed based on the existing linear DIW.Then,a novel hierarchical multi-sensor data fusion algorithm adopting this strategy was presented, and the weight factor of the data fusion was estimated. The distinctive feature of this algorithm is its capability of fusing data in a near-optimal manner when there is no available information about the reliability of the information sources, the degree of redundancy/complementarities of the information sources, and the structure of the hierarchy. It obtained effective information from the fusion data, successfully removed the noise disturbance, and achieved favorable results. 展开更多

This study analyzes the know-how of local communities, to draw on techniques that make contemporary buildings more energy efficient. The impluvium hut in the locality of Enampore, Casamance, Southern Senegal, served as the object of study. The hut, including several rooms, is entirely built with earthen walls, earthen floor, earthen ceiling, covered by a double straw roof and its central courtyard. A room noted (L) and a semi-opened living space were chosen as spaces for hygro-thermal experimentation. The hottest average temperature obtained respectively in the room (L) and in the living space is 25.5˚C and 27˚C when outside is about 34˚C. The thermal amplitude inside room (L) is 0.88˚C, in semi-opened living space, is 2.6˚C and outside is 9.5˚C. With these results we can say that room (L) undergoes very low temperature variations and that there is no need to air-condition in the enclosure. The thermal amplitude makes it possible to see the influence of the earthen walls on the interior temperature and its regularity compared to the fluctuation of the external temperature. The thermal inertia of the building walls was characterized using also the time lag and the decrement factor. They was respectively 7.0 H and 0.093 for the room (L). With this result we can say that this material has a high thermal inertia. For humidity, it is high around 78.5% in the room (L), 66.0% at the semi-open living room, when it is 59.0% outside. Through this study, it is possible that the revalorization of vernacular architecture can be an alternative to reduce the energy consumption of buildings. 展开更多

Problem—Contemporary physics offers no underlying reason for the equivalence of inertial and gravitational mass. Approach—The equivalence is examined from the new physics provided by the cordus theory, being a non-local hidden-variable (NLHV) theory. Mathematical formalisms are derived for masses and observers in different fabric densities. Findings—A disjointed equivalence is predicted, whereby inertial and gravitational masses are equivalent in any one situation, but a different equivalence holds when the fabric densities change. Consequently this theory predicts that the gravitational constant G varies with fabric density, and hence would be different across the universe and across time. Not only is the gravitational constant non-constant, but the formulation of gravitation changes with fabric density. Specifically, the theory predicts gravity is stronger at genesis (and the end of the universe) such that orbit velocity vB ∝  (where rB is orbit radius), compared to weaker gravitation at middle life epochs with rB ∝ . The current Earth location and epoch correspond to the latter case, i.e. Newtonian gravitation is recovered. The findings disfavour the existence of both dark energy and dark matter, and instead attribute these effects to differences in the fabric density. Originality—The work makes the contribution of deriving a mass equivalence relationship that includes fabric density, identifying a disjointed mass equivalence, and showing that the gravitation formulation itself changes with relative fabric densities. 展开更多

Although Newtonian gravity and general relativity predicted the precession of Mercury perihelion historically, many improved methods continue to predict the precession of Mercury during recent decades of years. Uncertainties in various predictions and observations suggest that the attribution of Mercury’s precession is still not well understood. This paper argues that the cause of Mercury’s precession is not gravity, but the inertia of material motion left over from the formation of the solar system. According to this inertia theory, the planetary precession is associated with the ratio of total mass-energy density of the system to the mass-energy of the Sun and its change over time. If other factors are not changed with time, the perihelion precession of planets per orbit is proportional to his distance relative to the Sun. The conclusions of this paper can provide more effective factor considerations for the complete description of various astronomical events and phenomena using general relativity equations. 展开更多

The lifting and lowering mechanism of the roll box of the saw gin, being an integral part of the ginning process, is used when starting the electric motor of the saw cylinder until its rated speed is reached to prevent an increase in the load current on it, as well as to start the ginning process. The article defines the kinematics of the movement, and also studies the regularity of the movement of the roll box of the saw gin when lifting it with the help of a pneumatic drive. The kinematics of the roll box movement was determined through experimental studies. Knowing the equation of motion, using the second-order Lagrange equation, the regularity of the change in the lifting force of the roll box was determined. Here the system is closed, its degree of freedom is equal to one. The angle of rotation of the roll box is taken as a generalized coordinate. Numerical results were obtained using the Matlab software environment. The theoretical analysis and graphs for determining the lifting force of the roll box are presented. To study the kinematics of lifting the roll box, a method and a test bench have been developed. According to him, when the roll box was raised, its movement was recorded on video, the image was processed using the After Effect and CorelDraw programs, and the movement of the rod attachment point to the roll box was determined. And also the equation for changing the angle of rotation of the roll box is determined using the Matlab Curve Fiting program. 展开更多

A system of mutually interacting point-mass objects is considered. All objects act on each other with mutual forces.A consistent relativity of motion based on the elimination of the observer is introduced. The center of inertia of the entire system is a common reference point.Central and mutual quantities are defined and the relationship between them is derived.A simple method of numerical approximation of the evolution of the central motion is presented. The scale invariance of the classical n-body problem is used to challenge the physical correctness of the problem formulation.Subsequently,a hypothesis is expressed about the extension of Coulomb’s law as well as Newton’s law of gravity. The consequences of the hypothesis are illustrated by the simulation of the helium-2 atom and the simulation of the motion of the stars S2,S4716 in the vicinity of the black hole in the core of our galaxy. 展开更多

This work is devoted to the study of the relationship between strong earthquakes and planetary configurations using the example of two consecutive strong earthquakes that occurred in Türkiye (Turkey), on February 6, 2023. It is shown that at the time of the earthquakes, linear alignment of the planets along the Jupiter-Venus-Sun line was observed, that is, the astronomical trigger belonged to the generalized Kepler conjunction scheme (gKc), when the Earth does not participate in the linearization scheme. It is shown that for the first earthquake that occurred at 01:17 UTC, the ratio of the distances between Jupiter-Earth and Jupiter-Mars was close to an integer value equal to 5.993. For the second earthquake that occurred on the same day at 10:25 UTC, no integer resonance ratios were detected, however, it was found that the terrestrial e UTC line at the time of the earthquake passed through the position of Mercury. Recall that the 12-hour line of the eUTC chart is always oriented towards the Sun. The conclusions of the work once again confirm the correctness of the theories of Archimedes and Kepler and convince us of the existence of a gravitational phenomenon that does not depend on the distances and masses of planets, has a pronounced inertial and wave character and does not fit into the general theory of relativity, developed in the last century by Albert Einstein. 展开更多

In this paper, we delve into the intrinsic nature of mass and gravity, as per the amplitude modulation interpretation of the quantum theory. We explore the idea that the elementary constituent is an electromagnetic configuration that interacts with the quantum field, leading to the emergence of inertia and gravity as a reaction to the exchange with the quantum field. While these two phenomena have a common origin, they are distinct. Our proposal suggests manipulating the connection between the quantum field and the particle using high-frequency electromagnetic fields, thereby making a warp drive possible. 展开更多
