Technology is currently being used in vaccination drives run by many governments across the world to help spread vaccines quickly and efficiently. The technology makes healthcare personnel more effective at their professions and greatly raises the standard of service in the industry. The researchers undertook this study to create a suitable and long-lasting immunization database with a mapping method to give a better perspective of the immunization status. To gather essential information for this study, the researchers spoke with the local health officer in the targeted area. The obtained data then served as the basis for the system’s capabilities and features, becoming the target problems addressed by the developers. The investigation found that the majority of procedures and interactions are carried out manually and recorded on an unprotected, antiquated Excel spreadsheet. The researchers’ technology also shows to be a superior way to deal with the problems and difficulties while making their health-related transactions and operations quicker, safer, and much more effective.展开更多

In virtually all developed countries, the needs of computerized land and geographic information systems (LIS/GIS) has given urgent impetus to computerizing cadastral maps and creating digital cadastral data bases (DCDB). This process is creating many institutional, legal, technical and administrative problems. This desire to establish DCDBs is being given increased impetus due to a new range of enabling technologies such as satellite position fixing (GPS), improved spatial data collection techniques such as digital theodolites and “soft copy” photogrammetry, as well as a vast range of new information and communications technological tools, thus contributing to the advancement and keeping up with the great countries. This paper presents the problem of cadastral maps. The hitherto existing cadastre, consisting of paper maps and land registers, is now becoming insufficient. Its shortcomings force developments leading to its improvement. One of the ways is the creation of a Land Information System. A digital cadastral map is the main component of this system. The structure and information content of the map is presented, its differences from analogue maps are shown, and the process of map creation is described. A digital cadastral map can be the basis for additional thematic layers, successively converting it into a complex system for management of administrative units.展开更多

The tremendous growth in the use of web and open-source geospatial resources has sparked development of web-based spatial applications to address multidisciplinary issues with spatial dimensions. This paper presents the integration of open-source geospatial tools and web technology to visualize and interact with spatial data using web browser. The goal of this paper is to implement a prototype system for web-based mapping by providing step-by-step instructions in order to encourage the eager developers and interested readers to publish their maps on the web with no prior technical experience in map servers. The implementation of mapping prototype shows the utilization of open-source geospatial tools which results in a rapid implementation with minimal or no software input cost.展开更多

BCM aims to reduce risks and develops plans for restoring business activities if they are interrupted by a disaster. The purpose of the paper is to analyze and describe two standards, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT), especially their mapping for the improved planning and implementation of the BCM as well as the increased control over the BCM activities. COBIT is used more as a management framework, providing management tools, such as control objectives, metrics and maturity models in order to complement the control framework. ITIL includes process steps and tasks because it is more oriented towards IT processes (process framework), defining the best practice for IT service management. Within this mapping, ITIL processes may be used to achieve and demonstrate compliance with COBIT control objectives for BCM process.展开更多

This study was focused on generating spatial knowledge that will be useful in designing appropriate strategies for improving beef cattle production on rangelands of the LVB, through assessing changes in stock routes in relation to water and pasture availability for livestock under a changing climate. The study used participatory mapping and focused group discussions to assess spatial changes of stock routes in relation to water availability and pasture under critical climate changes. Also, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technologies were deployed in formalization of spatial layers for integration with other pertinent datasets to the facilitate analysis. The study revealed remarkable stock routes changes (i.e. some have been lost, some have been converted into roads, while others have been lost and others narrowed influencing conflicts between pastorists and farmers. The stock routes changes are made by the increased human population which has led to an increase of cultivated areas and subsequently the decline of water sources and grazing land for pastorists. It is recommended that there should be effective land use planning practice, real-time stock route modification concomitant with adverse climate changes and cattle farming practice. Intervention by other mitigation measures particuticularly rainwater harvesting which is a strategy for alleviation of climate change effects for improving beef cattle production in LVB areas is proposed.展开更多
