In the face of fierce market competition,enterprises must ensure the competitiveness of their products or services through technological innovation.However,the complexity of technology often surpasses the capabilities...In the face of fierce market competition,enterprises must ensure the competitiveness of their products or services through technological innovation.However,the complexity of technology often surpasses the capabilities of individual enterprises,leading them to deepen cooperation with other organizations.The entities within the enterprise innovation ecosystem depend on each other,collaborate closely,and rely on core enterprises to integrate resources,thereby creating system value and enhancing competitiveness.The purpose of this paper is to explore the process of selecting appropriate ecosystem partners.It begins by providing an overview of relevant concepts,characteristics,selection factors,and methods.Subsequently,it analyzes the roles,resources,and synergy evolution of the entities within the ecosystem.An evaluation system encompassing operation,core,synergy,and development capability is then established.This system comprises 16 indicators,including organization scale and reputation,and is accompanied by a hierarchical evaluation model.Finally,the validity of the evaluation system is confirmed through empirical analysis,utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.展开更多

Despite many initiatives to help foster innovation over the last decade,Bahrain has yet to realise its full potential,indicated by low levels of published research,patent registrations,and entrepreneurial activities.T...Despite many initiatives to help foster innovation over the last decade,Bahrain has yet to realise its full potential,indicated by low levels of published research,patent registrations,and entrepreneurial activities.The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of sustainable innovation for economic recovery.This study aimed to identify the critical factors needed to stimulate innovation,as well as any barriers.Using a case study approach,emerging findings from an online survey of participants from a range of private and government organizations were explored through in-depth interviews with selected"innovation influencers".It was found that the economic and cultural environments in Bahrain favor a conservative approach to innovation,with the opening of new market opportunities with existing products the most reported form applied.The need for a sustainable economic recovery post-pandemic has raised awareness of the importance of innovation in all its forms.The environmental factors influencing innovation are charted in an ecosystem model,with effective leadership and a national strategy identified as key components.The Innovation Ecosystem derived from this case study of Bahrain has wider applicability as a benchmarking framework.By mapping the local context against framework elements,identified gaps can usefully inform a sustainable innovation strategy at both a national and organizational level.展开更多
Under the current complex and competitive economic environment,more and more firms are embedding themselves into symbiotic networks for value co-creation,since this has become a good strategy to obtain competitive adv...Under the current complex and competitive economic environment,more and more firms are embedding themselves into symbiotic networks for value co-creation,since this has become a good strategy to obtain competitive advantages.Thus,it is important to examine the impacts of firms’embeddedness in symbiotic networks on value co-creation in innovation ecosystems.This study analyzes the mechanisms and contextual factors of firms’dual embeddedness(i.e.,relational and knowledge embeddedness)in symbiotic networks and how each influences value co-creation within innovation ecosystems.Using a sample of 1,972 observations,our findings show,firstly,that firms’dual embeddedness in symbiotic networks positively impacts on value co-creation in innovation ecosystems;secondly,that firms’dual embeddedness in symbiotic networks positively impacts on innovation ecosystem resilience;thirdly,that innovation ecosystem resilience mediates the relationships between firms’dual embeddedness in symbiotic networks and value co-creation in innovation ecosystems;and,fourthly,that innovative ecological environments positively moderate the relationship between firms’dual embeddedness and value co-creation in innovation ecosystems.These results not only enrich the theoretical framework concerning value co-creation within innovation ecosystems but also provide managerial suggestions for firms to efficiently enhance the degree of embeddedness in symbiotic networks and build highly resilient innovation ecosystems,thus promoting value co-creation among innovation ecosystem populations.展开更多
Evaluating the resilience of the innovation ecosystem to maintain its performance,in the sense of resistance to disruption and recovery after it,has recently received more attention.Several studies have been conducted...Evaluating the resilience of the innovation ecosystem to maintain its performance,in the sense of resistance to disruption and recovery after it,has recently received more attention.Several studies have been conducted to model different ecosystems and evaluate their resilience.However,modeling the innovation ecosystem from a holistic perspective and performing a quantitative assessment of its resilience have received less attention.This paper models the innovation ecosystem holistically and evaluates its resilience index using a quantitative approach through five main steps.In the first step,a case study related to the innovation ecosystem of Iran's Ministry of Energy,called the Power Innovation Ecosystem,is modeled by combining system dynamics and agent-based modeling.Upon validating the model in the second step,the disruption of the loss of experts is investigated in the third step,and all possible actions to recover each actor are analyzed.In the fourth step,the performance of the ecosystem is simulated before and after the disruption using the data gathered in the previous steps.Finally,resilience is calculated in two different ways in the fifth step.Several improvement solutions are also suggested when considering that the resilience index of the innovation ecosystem is at a medium level.This research may assist policymakers in observing the resilience level of the innovation ecosystem based on the proposed model.By applying strategic changes to this model,they can determine the effects of their policies and make the most appropriate decisions to increase the resilience of the innovation ecosystem.展开更多
While researchers have used the traditional index system–part of the niche-fitness model–to evaluate the innovation ecosystem,this index system can be seen as not being sufficiently objective,with the consequent pro...While researchers have used the traditional index system–part of the niche-fitness model–to evaluate the innovation ecosystem,this index system can be seen as not being sufficiently objective,with the consequent problem that it gives equal weight to the indicators and so does not specify the important factors.To remedy this problem of insufficient objectivity,this paper seeks to improve the traditional niche-fitness model in two ways,which are based on the theory of the innovation ecosystem.First,by introducing the principal components analytic method to solve multiple mutual linear problems.Second,by constructing a new evaluation index system from the four aspects of openness,synergy,sustainability,and growth.This new evaluation index system is closer to the characteristics of the organic and evolutionary nature of the sustainable innovation ecosystem compared with the traditional index system.By using the evaluation index system,the research carries out a health assessment for the sustainable innovation ecosystems in different regions of provincial and municipal China from the two perspectives of descriptive and quantitative analyses.Through these analyses,our findings suggest that the sustainable regional innovation ecosystems in China are,on the whole,in an imbalance:there is a gradual decreasing trend from the eastern coastal areas to the central and western regions,and then the northeast regions.展开更多
