To improve the smoothness of motion control in a quadruped robot, a continuous and smooth gait transition method based on central pattern generator (CPG) was presented to solve the unsmooth or failed problem which may result in phase-locked or sharp point with direct replacement of the gait matrix. Through improving conventional weight matrix, a CPG network and a MATLAB/ Simulink model were constructed based on the Hopf oscillator for gait generation and transition in the quadruped robot. A co-simulation was performed using ADAMS/MATLAB for the gait transition between walk and trot to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed CPG gait generation and transition algorithms. Related methods and conclusions can technically support the motion control technology of the quadruped robot. 展开更多

Conventional blood sampling for glucose detection is prone to cause pain and fails to continuously record glucose fluctuations in vivo.Continuous glucose monitoring based on implantable electrodes could induce pain and potential tissue inflammation,and the presence of reactive oxygen species(ROS)due to inflammationmay affect glucose detection.Microneedle technology is less invasive,yet microneedle adhesion with skin tissue is limited.In this work,we developed a microarrow sensor array(MASA),which provided enhanced skin surface adhesion and enabled simultaneous detection of glucose and H_(2)O_(2)(representative of ROS)in interstitial fluid in vivo.The microarrows fabricated via laser micromachining were modified with functional coating and integrated into a patch of a three-dimensional(3D)microneedle array.Due to the arrow tip mechanically interlocking with the tissue,the microarrow array could better adhere to the skin surface after penetration into skin.The MASA was demonstrated to provide continuous in vivo monitoring of glucose and H_(2)O_(2) concentrations,with the detection of H_(2)O_(2) providing a valuable reference for assessing the inflammation state.Finally,the MASA was integrated into a monitoring system using custom circuitry.This work provides a promising tool for the stable and reliable monitoring of blood glucose in diabetic patients. 展开更多

In this paper, we present a SPEL extension that leverages the version control system (e.g., Git) to autonomous code generation and demonstrate its application to continuous code integration and development of the ELM software system. The contact stiffness of the joint surface directly affects the static and dynamic mechanical behavior,and accuracy of the machine tool.A new elastoplastic contact stiffness model is proposed by considering continuous and smooth contact characteristics and substrate deformation.First,the interpolation interval of cubic Hermite polynomials is improved to meet the continuous and smooth change of contact parameters during asperity deformation.Then,the micro-contact mechanism considering substrate deformation is explored by establishing an asperity-substrate system model.Furthermore,combined with statistical principles,a new contact stiffness model of the joint surface is established.Finally,the correctness of the built model is verified by comparing with experimental data and different contact models.The simulation results show that the model changes continuously and smoothly in the three deformation regions.The substrate deformation mainly affects the asperities in the elastic contact stage.The smoother is the surface,the more significant is the influence of substrate deformation. 展开更多

Submarine landslides can cause severe damage to marine engineering structures. Their sliding velocity and runout distance are two major parameters for quantifying and analyzing the risk of submarine landslides.Currently, commercial calculation programs such as BING have limitations in simulating underwater soil movements. All of these processes can be consistently simulated through a smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH) depth integrated model. The basis of the model is a control equation that was developed to take into account the effects of soil consolidation and erosion. In this work, the frictional rheological mode has been used to perform a simulation study of submarine landslides. Time-history curves of the sliding body's velocity, height,and length under various conditions of water depth, slope gradient, contact friction coefficient, and erosion rate are compared; the maximum sliding distance and velocity are calculated; and patterns of variation are discussed.The findings of this study can provide a reference for disaster warnings and pipeline route selection. 展开更多

In order to let suppliers monitor customers' inventory levels and make supply decisions regarding order quantities and delivery time, an integrated continuous replenishment planning (CRP) strategy of fresh food oriented to retail industry is presented, which integrates the consolidation of shipment and inventory replenishment considering the deterioration of items to guarantee the quality safety of fresh food during the replenishment cycle. A vendor managed inventory (VMI) mathematical model to compute upper-level inventory and delivery cycle is built. Based on the real-time sales data exchange, it enables suppliers to make the decision of the optimal time and the quantities of replenishment for retailers during a delivery cycle, in order to replenish the consumers' stock initiatively and minimize the long-run average cost. 展开更多

A reconstructed edge-based smoothed triangular element, which is incorporated with the discrete shear gap (DSG) method, is formulated based on the global coordinate for analysis of Reissner-Mindlin plates. A symbolic integration combined with the smoothing technique is implemented to calculate the smoothed finite element matrices, which is integrated along the boundaries of each smoothing cell. Numerical results show that the proposed element is free from shear locking, and its results are in good agreement with the exact solutions, even for very thin plates with extremely distorted elements. The proposed element gives more accurate results than the original DSG element without smoothing, and it can be taken as an alternative element for analysis of Reissner-Mindlin plates. The prominent feature of the present element is that the integration scheme is unified in the smoothed form for all of the finite element matrices. 展开更多

Microscale electrochemical energy storage devices,e.g., micro-supercapacitors(MSCs),possessing tailored performance and diversified form factors of lightweight,miniaturization,flexibility and exceptional integration are highly necessary for the smart power sources-unitized electronics.Despite the great progress,the fabrication of MSCs combining high integration with high volumetric performance remains largely unsolved.Herein,we develop a simple,fast and scalable strategy to fabricate graphene based highly integrated MSCs by a new effective continuous centrifugal coating technique.Notably,the resulting highly conductive graphene films can act as not only patterned microelectrodes but also metal-free current collectors and interconnects,endowing modular MSCs with high integrity,remarkable flexibility,tailored voltage and capacitance output,and outstanding performance uniformity.More importantly,the strong centrifugal force and shear force generated in continuous centrifugal coating process lead to graphene films with high alignment,compactness and packing density,contributing to excellent volumetric capacitance of ~31.8 F cm^(-3) and volumetric energy density of ~2.8 mWh cm^(-3),exceeding most reported integrated MSCs.Therefore,our work paves a novel way for simple and scalable fabrication of integrated MSCs and offers promising opportunities as standalone microscale power sources for new-generation electronics. 展开更多

Fiber reinforced composite frame structure is an ideal lightweight and large-span structure in the fields of aerospace,satellite and wind turbine.Natural fundamental frequency is one of key indicators in the design requirement of the composite frame since structural resonance can be effectively avoided with the increase of the fundamental frequency.Inspired by the concept of integrated design optmization of composite frame structures and materials,the design optimization for the maximum structural fundamental frequency of fiber reinforced frame structures is proposed.An optimization model oriented at the maximum structural fundamental frequency under a composite material volume constraint is established.Two kinds of independent design variables are optimized,in which one is variables represented structural topology,the other is variables of continuous fiber winding angles.Sensitivity analysis of the frequency with respect to the two kinds of independent design variables is implemented with the semi-analytical sensitivity method.Some representative examples in the manuscript demonstrate that the integrated design optimization of composite structures can effectively explore coupled effects between structural configurations and material properties to increase the structural fundamental frequency.The proposed integrated optimization model has great potential to improve composite frames structural dynamic performance in aerospace industries. 展开更多

In the railway bridge analysis and design method,dynamic train loads are regarded as static loads enhanced by an impact factor(IF).The IF coefficients for various railway bridges have been reported as a function of span length or frequency of the bridges in Eurocode(2003).However,these IF coefficient values neglect the effects of very high speeds(>200 km/h)and soil-structure interaction(SSI).In this work,a comprehensive study to assess the impact factor coefficients of mid-span vertical displacements for continuous and integral railway bridges subjected to high-speed moving loads is reported.Three different configurations,each for the three-dimensional(3D)continuous and integral bridge,are considered.Also,single-track(1-T)and two-track(2-T)“real train”loading cases for both these bridge types are considered.Subsequently,finite element analysis of the full-scale 3D bridge models,to identify their IF values,considering the effects of SSI for three different soil conditions,is conducted.The IF values obtained from the study for both bridge types are comparable and are greater than the values recommended by Eurocode(2003).The results reveal that with a loss of soil stiffness,the IF value reduces;thus,it confirms the importance of SSI analysis. 展开更多

Piezoelectric robots play important roles in the field of micromanipulation, but it is difficult for them to generate steady precision motion at any moment. In order to eliminate the changing inertial force and improve the motion smoothness, this work proposes a piezoelectric robot with continuous walking gait inspired by ants. The idea is verified with theoretical models and numerical simulation, and the performances are evaluated with experiments. The robot is proven to have the ability to generate 3-DOF(dgeree of freedom) continuous smooth motions with constant speeds. The maximum and minimum smooth velocities have a difference of six orders of magnitude, realizing cross-scale velocity control. Besides, the motion resolution reaches several nanometers with the unlimited workspace, so the cross-scale displacement control can be also obtained. Furthermore, with great robustness against varying loads, the stable actuation capability of the robot is more than 22 times of the self-weight. To sum up,the proposed robot generates cross-scale smooth motion in both aspects of displacement and velocity, so it has good prospects in the applications requiring steady precision motion. The design philosophy and research methods in this work can be valuable references for further advances of micromanipulation robots. 展开更多

Similarities between SDPD and dissipative particle dynamics with energy (DPDE) con- servation, which is another coarse-grained model, enable adaptation of recent numerical schemes developed for DPDE to the SDPD setting. The box constrained VIP can be reformulated as a differentiable optimization problem by the proposed smooth gap function. The conditions, under which any stationary point of the optimization problem is the solution to the box constrained VIP, are discussed. A simple frictional contact problem is analyzed to show the applications of the smooth gap function. Finally, the numerical experiments confirm the good theoretical properties of the method. 展开更多
