Design strategy of intelligent CAD for welding positioner scheme design

Because scheme design has close relationship with product structure, performance and technology cost, it is important for applying the intelligent CAD of scheme design to improve the quality and competitive level of the product. The definition and function of welding positioner are discussed in this paper. The new definition of welding positioner extends the research scope of welding positioner to welding fixture and welding positioning motion mechanism. The design process of welding fixture and positioning motion system is described, and the cased based and knowledge based design strategy of welding positioner scheme design intelligent CAD is then put forward, which lays foundation for developing proto type system of welding positioner scheme design. 展开更多

The main task of the work presented in this paper is to establish an object oriented data model for conceptual design of modular robots in order to enhance the intelligence of the CAD system for reconfigurable modular robots. This data model should provide all the necessary information on robots, tasks and the working environment for automatically mapping from functions required to structures of robots. The architecture of modular robots and their working environments are illustrated. The conceptual data models of modular robots with environments and tasks written with EXPRESS are developed in details. In order to reduce the development cycle of mechanical products and corresponding toolings, a large number of components are utilized in these structures. Accordingly, automatic location method for components is a key issue in the research on intelligent computer aided design (CAD) techniques. Integrated with the investigation into intelligent design techniques for aircraft manufacturing toolings, in-depth researches on this issue are conducted. Formalized automatic location principles, representative methods and implementation algorithms are proposed and established. First, several terms and their formalized representative methods including process condition, location base and location operator are defined. Second, computation modeling of components automatic location and methods of location transformation are proposed. Then, definition of base structure and some key algorithms for automatic location are introduced. These principles and algorithms are developed, applied and verified in research project "Jig Intelligent CAD (JiglCAD) System". 展开更多

The first algorithm is for constrained systems without loops and has linear complexity. The second algorithm can solve constraint systems with loops. The latter algorithm is of quadratic complexity and is complete for constraint problems about simple polygons. The key to it is to combine the idea of graph based methods for geometric constraint solving and geometric transformations coming from rule-based methods. 展开更多
