Improving innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher institutions: the impact of "Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation" education on undergraduates' entrepreneurial intentions

The exploration of the way"mass entrepreneurship and innovation"(MEI)education influences students'aspirations to become entrepreneurs has grown into an important area of analysis in studies related to higher education.This research intends to examine the consequences of MEI education on students'tendency towards entrepreneurship,and to put forward methods for augmenting the teaching of innovation and entrepreneurship in private higher educational establishments.To achieve this objective,questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were employed in the study,which involved a total of 197 students and five education experts.The statistical analysis of the questionnaire data revealed that MEI education was positively related to students'entrepreneurial intentions,and that both entrepreneurial experience and family entrepreneurial background played moderating roles in this relationship.The interview findings indicated that private universities could enhance educational reforms by designing talent training programs,developing diversified curricula,and developing more professional entrepreneurial platforms to encourage students'entrepreneurial intentions.This study offers fresh insights for improving and perfecting the mechanism of innovation and entrepreneurship education in private universities.

An Efficient Method for Identifying Lower Limb Behavior Intentions Based on Surface Electromyography

Surface electromyography(sEMG)is widely used for analyzing and controlling lower limb assisted exoskeleton robots.Behavior intention recognition based on sEMG is of great significance for achieving intelligent prosthetic and exoskeleton control.Achieving highly efficient recognition while improving performance has always been a significant challenge.To address this,we propose an sEMG-based method called Enhanced Residual Gate Network(ERGN)for lower-limb behavioral intention recognition.The proposed network combines an attention mechanism and a hard threshold function,while combining the advantages of residual structure,which maps sEMG of multiple acquisition channels to the lower limb motion states.Firstly,continuous wavelet transform(CWT)is used to extract signals features from the collected sEMG data.Then,a hard threshold function serves as the gate function to enhance signals quality,with an attention mechanism incorporated to improve the ERGN’s performance further.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ERGN achieves extremely high accuracy and efficiency,with an average recognition accuracy of 98.41%and an average recognition time of only 20 ms-outperforming the state-of-the-art research significantly.Our research provides support for the application of lower limb assisted exoskeleton robots.

Extension of Goal-Directed Behavior Model for Post-Pandemic Korean Travel Intentions to Alternative Local Destinations: Perceived Risk and Knowledge

Since the outbreak of COVID-19,tourists have been increasingly concerned over various risks of international travel,while knowledge of the pandemic appears to vary significantly.In addition,as travel restrictions continue to impact adversely on international tourism,tourism efforts should be placed more on the domestic markets.Via structural equation modeling,this study unearthed different risk factors impacting Korean travelers’choices of alternative local destinations in the post-pandemic era.In addition,this study extended the goal-directed behavior framework with the acquisition of perceived risk and knowledge of COVID-19,which was proven to hold a sig-nificantly superior explanatory power of tourists’decisions of local alternatives over foreign countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.Furthermore,desire was found to play an imminent mediating role in the conceptual mod-el,maximizing the impact of perceived risk on travel intentions.Henceforth,this research offers meaningful the-oretical implication as thefirst empirical study to deepen the goal-directed behaviour framework with perceived risk and knowledge in the context of post-COVID-19 era.It also serves as insightful knowledge for Korean tour-ism authorities and practitioners to understand local tourists’decision-making processes and tailor effective recovery strategy for domestic tourism.

The Impact of Saudi Nurses’ Happiness on Their Turnover Intentions

Highly happy nurses are more productive, engaged and loyal. If nurses are satisfied, then their intention to leave is low. Aim: to investigate the impact of Saudi nurses’ happiness on their intention to turnover in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Research Hypothesis: H0. There is no relationship between the nurses’ happiness on their intention to turnover among Saudi nurses. H1. The happy Saudi nurses will have a lower turnover intention among Saudi nurses in the Medina region. Design: Quantitative, cross-sectional, and correlational study designs have been used. Setting: Big public hospital in Medina from June to October 2022. Sample: A quota, convenience sample of 281 Saudi nurses. Tools: A. Oxford happiness inventory to measure the nurses’ happiness. B. Turnover Intention Scale to evaluate the Saudi nurses’ intention to leave their current job. Results: More than half of the nurses had moderate happiness, but more than 75% of the Saudi nurses had a desire to leave. The relationship between happiness and turnover intentions is negative. Conclusion: Magnet-like work environments in Saudi Arabia are critical to recruit and retain nurses with critical nursing shortages. Recommendations: Encourage governmental policy-makers to formulate national policies and KPIs in order to make them happy and retain them. .

Factors Influencing the Employment Intentions of High-level Talent in Sichuan Province

Based on available survey data and related literature regarding the employment intentions of high-level talent in Sichuan province,the factors influencing employment intentions were policy support,livability degree,social relations,and employment environments.By using the maximum likelihood estimation(MLE)function of structural equation modeling(SEM),the results indicated that these factors,if positive,could significantly enhance intentions to work in Sichuan.The cultural climate seems to have no obvious effect on intentions,but it indeed indirectly enhances their intentions by influencing the employment environments.To this end,provincial government authorities should carry out targeted policy support and campaigns to maximize the likelihood of attracting high-level talent.Efforts should also be made to maximize pull factors and minimize push factors to improve talent services and build a favorable living,working,and cultural environment for talent.Meanwhile,high-level talent should also make full use of the social capital and seize employment opportunities in a timely and accurate manner.

Influence of Perceived Value on Tourist Future Intentions to Creative Tourism Attractions in Kenya＇s North Coast

Creative tourism is a new form of tourism product that is potentially changing tourism development and issignificantly contributing to differentiating and changing tourism experience. This paper explores the relationshipbetween tourists＇ perceived value （PV） of and their future intentions to creative tourism attractions. The study wasconducted at Gede Ruins in Kenya＇s North Coast targeting both international and domestic tourists visiting thearcheological site. The study systematically sampled 186 tourists who had consumed and participated in tourismactivities at departure points. The result showed that PV was a useful variable to explain customer satisfaction andpredict tourists＇ future intentions to creative tourism attractions. The findings of the study provide insight to theways tourists perceive creative attractions, and highlight the importance of creative tourism managers in providingan environment for tourists to actively engage creatively at the destination. It is suggested that creative tourismmanagers must understand why tourists want to visit creative tourism destinations, their perceptions duringconsumption and what they value after consumption, and be able to predict their future intentions.

An Analysis of the Business Climate and the Investment Intentions Trend in Post-revolutionary Tunisia

The paper examined the impact of business climate on the investment intentions of local enterprises,Mediterranean enterprises,and individual entrepreneurs in Tunisia.The paper has used both primary and secondary data.The secondary data is used for literature review and primary data has been collected by survey in Tunisia.Primary data were collected from 257 local and 204 Mediterranean businesses,including Large Corporations,Small businesses and SMEs,and 362 individual Tunisian investors,using a structured questionnaire via face-to-face interviews.Principal Component Analysis,t-test,ANOVA,post-hoc test,and the model of Multinomial Logistic Regression Analysis has been carried out to study the interrelationships among the variables in this paper.A descriptive analysis of the data has also been done.The paper found that the most important economic variables for local and Mediterranean enterprises are the“presence of support system”and“Investment Grants”.Though for the Individual Investors the most important economic variables are“Saturation of Market”,“Investment grants”,and“Data Access”.The social variables“safety in daily activities,safety while traveling”and“security level of governance”are the most important variables.Further,the most important political variables affecting investment decisions are“Good governance”and“Law enforcement”of local,Mediterranean enterprises,and individual investors.The paper also found that political dimensions have a significant impact on the investment intentions of local enterprises,while social dimensions have a significant impact on the investment intentions of Mediterranean enterprises.Moreover,economic dimensions have a significant impact on the investment decision of individual investors.The paper suggests that,by developing a favorable climate for businesses,the government should promote investment in Tunisia.Easy credit facilities should be provided to the entrepreneurs.There is a need to provide credit guarantee tools to small and medium-sized businesses for easy access to financial services.

Research on Behavior Intentions of Tourists Based on the Rural Image Perception

During the construction of new socialist countryside, rural tourism has presented its irreplaceable strategic significance in balancing urban and rural development, and in building a socialist harmonious society. It, therefore, has drawn sustained attention both from the government and the academics. By empirical research, a conceptual relationship model has been established of rural image and behavior intentions of tourists. The general rural image in rural tourism is comprised of rural scenery, rural architecture and rural culture image. Furthermore, the overall rural image has a positive effect on tourists' willingness to pay a premium price, to recommend and to repeat purchase. At the end of this paper, reasonable suggestions have been proposed for rural image enhancement aimed to promote the attractiveness of rural tourism, and to enhance the tourists' positive behavior intentions.

This phenomenon impels businesses to realizethat online reviews significantly affect trading volume. Businesses have attempted to manipulate online reviews by providing asignificant number of positive comments that could lead to consumer confidence and purchase of products. Internet users inChina are more interested in reading negative comments compared with the rest of the global Internet users. Thus, the effects ofstructural characteristics of potential customers, negative attitudes, and behavioral intentions have not yet aroused global concernbecause this phenomenon has been limited to the local scale.Based on literature, the main objective of negative online reviews is the positioning of fashion products. The perception ofnegative online reviews, purchase attitudes, and behaviors are the factors considered in the present study. Negative online reviewsof clothing and accessories sold online and their influence on consumer purchase intention and attitudes are analyzed. The studyaims to confirm that negative online reviews have an effect on consumer purchase intention, attitudes, and behaviors. Moreover,buying attitudes influence behavior intention.

The Influence of IWOM on Restaurant Consumers’ Purchase Intentions: Taking PANGGELIA as an Example

This paper explores the factors influencing consumers’willingness to purchase under the influence of IWOM,taking perceived risk as the theoretical framework.The factors influencing consumers’willingness to purchase under IWOM are investigated from three perspectives:perceived functional risk,perceived psychological risk,and perceived financial risk.A combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods is used to derive the questionnaire theory using the interview method.The research findings are drawn using the questionnaire method and combined with the path analysis method.Based on the research results,relevant suggestions and countermeasures are proposed for such IWOM-influenced restaurants.

Current Situation Analysis of Nursing Students'Professional Attitudes and Employment Intentions during COVID-19 Pandemic

Objective:To understand the status of nursing students'professional attitudes,professional identity,and employment intention under the new coronary pneumonia pandemic,and to analyze the factors influencing nursing students'employment intention.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 689 nursing students using a questionnaire,and the results were analyzed by multiple unordered and ordered regressions.Results:47.17%of the nursing students chose to work in clinical nursing in the future;95.5%of the nursing students preferred to work in Grade III class hospital hospitals;0.73%of the nursing students actively chose to work in the infectious disease unit in the background of COVID-19 pandemic.In the analysis of professional attitudes,female nursing students scored higher than male nursing students;Senior students and above scored significantly higher than junior nursing students;nursing students who had internship experience scored higher than those who had not;nursing students who had someone close to them who was involved in the rescue work of the COVID-19 pandemic scored higher in professional attitudes.Regression analysis showed that the higher the professional identity score,the more likely the nursing students were to choose a nursing-related job and expect a higher salary;nursing students who chose nursing because it was easy to find a job,followed the advice of others,or had a family income of less than 3000 yuan per capita also expected a higher salary.In the context of the pandemic,nursing students with high career attitude scores were less likely to choose clinical nursing jobs;students without nursing practitioners at home were less likely to choose hospitals and health management organizations;nursing students with high career identity were more likely to choose Grade III class hospitals.Conclusion:The outbreak of COVID-19 has influenced the employment intention of nursing students,in the background of pandemic,about half of them still choose to engage in clinical nursing work;most of them recognize the outstanding contribution and professional value of nurses in the fight against epidemic.Meanwhile,through this research,it is believed that nursing students at school have insufficient awareness of infectious diseases and other public health emergencies.It is recommended that relevant colleges and universities strengthen knowledge and related courses on the prevention and control of infectious diseases and public health emergency events.

The Impact of Spousal Relationships on Fertility Intentions of One-Child Urban Young Couples

Below-replacement fertility has spread from developed industrialized countries to some developing countries, including China. Based on the theory of the transformation of intimacy, this study utilizes the data from the Xi'an Special Survey on Child Rearing Costs and Fertility Intentions to explore the impact of spousal relationships on the fertility intentions of young urban couples and gender differences in this regard in terms of power relations, distribution of responsibility, and emotional connection. The study reveals that 1) an inverse J-shaped relationship(initially showing a decline followed by a rise) exists between family power equalization and fertility intentions, especially for women;2) the greater the husband's share of housework, the less he will desire fertility, but a wife's level of satisfaction with her husband's housework sharing increases her fertility motivation;and 3) frequent spousal interactions and emotional intimacy contribute to increased fertility intentions, especially on the part of women. From the perspective of the transformation of intimacy, the above results suggest that the impact of spousal relationships on young couples' fertility intentions is increasingly strong and that continued promotion of gender equality in the family sphere is of great significance to reversing low total fertility rates.

Economic development level and urban settlement intentions of the new-generation migrants in China: direct or interaction effect?

Based on a theoretical framework,this paper uses a multilevel model to examine the factors that correlate with the settlement intentions of China’s new-generation migrants.The level of regional economic development exerts not only random effects,but also an interaction effect with social integration on urban settlement intentions.Economic factors,including household income and home ownership,have a significant positive correlation with settlement intentions,while social char-acteristics such as social integration and social identification also have a positive correlation with the settlement intentions of new-generation migrants.Moreover,family migration strategies,parental migration experiences,short migration dis-tances,and long migration durations enhance urban settlement intentions.The set-tlement intentions exhibit significant inter-group differences between the migrants born in the 1980s and in the 1990s.Differences in the effects of the determinants are observed between these group samples and the total sample.

Cardiovascular health awareness,risk perception,behavioural intention and INTERHEART risk stratification among middle-aged adults in Malaysia

Objective:To investigate the interrelationship between cardiovascular health awareness,risk perception,behavioural intention,and INTERHEART risk stratification in a middle-aged adult population in Malaysia.Methods:A cross-sectional survey with convenience sampling was conducted during November 2022 and January 2023.Participants completed validated questionnaires assessing cardiovascular health awareness,risk perception of cardiovascular diseases,behavioural intention towards adopting healthy habits,and INTERHEART risk stratification score(IHRS)based on established risk factors.A total of 602 respondents were included in the final analysis.Data were analysed with independent t-test/one-way ANOVA or Mann-Whitney/Kruskal-Wallis to test the differences,Pearson correlation or linear regression test to analyze the association of independent and dependent variables.Results:There was a significant positive correlation between medical knowledge related to cardiovascular disease(CVD)and knowledge related to CVD risk prevention,risk perception,behavioural intention and IHRS(P<0.05,Pearson correlation).Notably,individuals with higher IHRS tended to have lower knowledge related to CVD and CVD risk prevention,risk perception,and behavioural intention.Males,laborers,active/former smokers,individuals with lower household income and educational levels,those involved in occupations not related to the healthcare sector,and those who did not receive the CVD health brochure or are unaware of health self-assessment tools are likely to have lower levels of knowledge,risk perception,and poorer behavioural intention regarding cardiovascular health(P<0.05,one-way ANOVA).While educational level,smoking status,awareness about CVD poster,self-assessment tools were repeatedly significantly associated with knowledge related to CVD and CVD risk prevention,risk perception,behavioral intention and/or IHRS(P<0.05,linear regression).Conclusions:These findings underscore the importance of promoting cardiovascular health awareness and risk perception among middle-aged adults to foster positive BI and reduce CVD risk.Tailored interventions targeting specific risk factors identified by INTERHEART may enhance risk stratification accuracy and facilitate targeted preventive strategies.

CBA: multi source fusion model for fast and intelligent target intention identification

How to mine valuable information from massive multisource heterogeneous data and identify the intention of aerial targets is a major research focus at present. Aiming at the longterm dependence of air target intention recognition, this paper deeply explores the potential attribute features from the spatiotemporal sequence data of the target. First, we build an intelligent dynamic intention recognition framework, including a series of specific processes such as data source, data preprocessing,target space-time, convolutional neural networks-bidirectional gated recurrent unit-atteneion (CBA) model and intention recognition. Then, we analyze and reason the designed CBA model in detail. Finally, through comparison and analysis with other recognition model experiments, our proposed method can effectively improve the accuracy of air target intention recognition,and is of significance to the commanders’ operational command and situation prediction.

AMachine Learning Approach to User Profiling for Data Annotation of Online Behavior

The user’s intent to seek online information has been an active area of research in user profiling.User profiling considers user characteristics,behaviors,activities,and preferences to sketch user intentions,interests,and motivations.Determining user characteristics can help capture implicit and explicit preferences and intentions for effective user-centric and customized content presentation.The user’s complete online experience in seeking information is a blend of activities such as searching,verifying,and sharing it on social platforms.However,a combination of multiple behaviors in profiling users has yet to be considered.This research takes a novel approach and explores user intent types based on multidimensional online behavior in information acquisition.This research explores information search,verification,and dissemination behavior and identifies diverse types of users based on their online engagement using machine learning.The research proposes a generic user profile template that explains the user characteristics based on the internet experience and uses it as ground truth for data annotation.User feedback is based on online behavior and practices collected by using a survey method.The participants include both males and females from different occupation sectors and different ages.The data collected is subject to feature engineering,and the significant features are presented to unsupervised machine learning methods to identify user intent classes or profiles and their characteristics.Different techniques are evaluated,and the K-Mean clustering method successfully generates five user groups observing different user characteristics with an average silhouette of 0.36 and a distortion score of 1136.Feature average is computed to identify user intent type characteristics.The user intent classes are then further generalized to create a user intent template with an Inter-Rater Reliability of 75%.This research successfully extracts different user types based on their preferences in online content,platforms,criteria,and frequency.The study also validates the proposed template on user feedback data through Inter-Rater Agreement process using an external human rater.
