The variations of intrinsic coercivity and remanence of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets with ultra-high intrinsic coercivity were investigated. The results showed that the intrinsic coercivity and remanence declined simultaneously with increasing temperature, but the squareness of the magnets has hardly been changed. The temperature coefficients of remanence (α) and coercivity (β) for the magnets were calculated by two different methods, and the variations of the temperature coefficients and the microstructure of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets were analyzed. The temperature coefficients of remanence (α) and coercivity (β) for the sintered magnets are very small, and the existence of fine microstructure is necessary to obtain sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets with ultra-high intrinsic coercivity. 展开更多

The double-alloy powder mixed method is very proper for developing new small-mass products by changing the composi- tion of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets, and there is little research on this aspect. The variation on magnetic and mechanical properties of high intrinsic coercivity Nd-Fe-B magnets prepared by double-alloy powder mixed method was discussed, which is a method blend- ing two-type main phase alloy powders with different components. The results showed that the intrinsic coercivity and density of sin- tered Nd-Fe-B magnets increased gradually with the increase in Dy content, and the double-alloy powder mixed method could obtain high intrinsic coercivity Nd-Fe-B magnets with good crystallographic alignment and microstructure. The bending strength of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets declined, and the Rockwell hardness of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets first declined, and then increased with the in- crease in Dy content. The microstructure showed that there existed the phenomenon that the Dy element diffused into main phase dur- ing sintering process, and the distribution of Dy content in main phase had some variation in homogeneity as a result of incomplete reaction between the double-alloy powder types. 展开更多

The effects of Nb on the thermal stability and impact toughness of ultra-high intrinsic coercivity of Nd-Fe-B magnets were investigated.The results showed that the addition of Nb could improve the thermal stability,and obviously increased the impact toughness of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets.The optimum thermal stability of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets was obtained when the content of Nb was 1.0 at.%.The maximum impact toughness of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets was obtained when the content of Nb was 1.5 at.%,but the magnetic properties of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets drastically deteriorated when the content of Nb increased from 1.0 at.% to 1.5 at.%.The microstructure showed that overfull Nb addition made many ultra-fine grains get together,which led to the density of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets decline and drastically deteriorated the magnetic properties of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets. 展开更多

The magnetic properties of commercial polycrystalline Nd2Fe14B (N50M,N45H,N40SH,N35EH) and Sm2Co17(XG30/20,XG26/25,XG22/20) magnets at cryogenic temperatures were tested by using a comprehensive physical properties measurement system (PPMS). The results show that the spin tilt temperature Tst of Nd2Fe14B magnets is closely related to intrinsic coercivity Hci , N50M and N45H with smaller Hci show a residual magnetization jump at 235K and 225K, respectively. For Sm2Co17 magnets, in 50-300 K, with temperature decreasing, residual magnetization Mrc shows a nearly linear increase, while in 10-50 K, Mrc has little change. The research results provide a reference for cryogenic undulators and other high-precision cryogenic devices. 展开更多

Curie temperatures Tc1corresponds to the main phase which contains more La Ce, a... MM14Fe79.9B6.1/Nd13.5Fe80.5B6 magnets were fabricated by dual alloy method(MM, misch metal). Some magnets have two Curie temperatures. Curie temperatures Tc1corresponds to the main phase which contains more La Ce, and Tc1 decreases from 276.5℃ to 256.6℃ with the content of MM increasing from 30.3 at.% to 50.6 at.%. The variation of Br with the increase of MM indicates the existence of inter-grain exchange coupling in the magnets. When MM/R ≤ 30.3 at.%,the magnetic properties can reach the level of the intrinsic coercivity Hcj≥ 7.11 kOe and the maximum energy product(BH)max≥ 41 MGOe. Compared with Nd, La and Ce are easier to diffuse to the grain boundaries in the sintering process,and this will cause the decrease of H(cj) Due to the diffusion between the grains, the atomic ratio of La, Ce, Pr, and Nd in each grain is different and the percentage of Nd in all grains is higher than that in misch metal. 展开更多

The high-temperature magnetic perfo rmance and micro structure of Sm_(1-x)Gd_(x)(Co_(bal)Fe_(0.09)Cu_(0.09)Zr_(0.025))_(7.2)(x=0.3,0.5) magnets were investigated.With the isothermal aging time decreasing from 11 to 3 h,the temperature coefficient of intrinsic coercivity in the temperature range of 25-500℃,β_(25-500℃),was optimized from -0,167%/℃ to-0.112%/℃ for x=0.3 magnets.The noticeable enhancement(~33%) of temperature stability is correlated with the increased content of 1:5H cell boundary phase and its relatively high Curie temperature as well.However,for the x=0.5 magnet,it is found that the presence of Sm_(5)Co_(19) phases and wider nanotwin variants hinder the formation of 1:5H cell boundary phase.The insufficient 1:5H is not beneficial to the proper redistribution of Cu in cell boundary,making the x=0.5 magnet difficult to achieve higher temperature stability.Consequently,the approach of adjusting the isothermal aging process can offer guidance for attaining superior magnetic performance in the temperature range from 25 to 500℃ for Gd-substituted Sm_(2)Co_(17)-type magnets. 展开更多
