We involved cardiologists performing coronary angiograms routinely both at secondary and tertiary centres. Three specific questions relating to allergy were asked:(1) History of shellfish/iodine allergy in pre-angiography assessment;(2) Treatments offeredfor shellfish/iodine allergy individuals; and(3) Any specific treatment protocol for shellfish/iodine allergy cases. We aimed to establish routine practice in United Kingdom for patients undergoing elective coronary angiography. We also performed comprehensive PubMed search for the available evidence of relationship between shellfish/iodine allergy and contrast media.RESULTS: A total of 100 responses were received, representing 20% of all United Kingdom cardiologists. Ninety-three replies were received from consultant cardiologists, 4 from non-consultant grades and 3 from cardiology specialist nurses. Amongst the respondents, 66% routinely asked about a previous history of shellfish/iodine allergy. Fifty-six percent would pre-treat these patients with steroids and anti-histamines. The other 44% do nothing, or do nonspecific testing based on their personal experience as following:(1) Skin test with 1 mL of subcutaneous contrast before intravenous contrast;(2) Test dose 2 mL contrast before coronary injection;(3) Close observation for shellfish allergy patients; and(4) Minimal evidence that the steroid and anti-histamine regime is effective but it makes us feel better.CONCLUSION: There is no evidence that allergy to shellfish alters the risk of reaction to intravenous contrast more than any other allergy and asking about such allergies in pre-angiogram assessment will not provide any additional information except propagating the myth.展开更多

METHODS: Aliquots of iopamidol and iodixanol mixed with normal saline were scanned at 1.5T and 3T. Signal intensity(SI) was measured using similar spin-echo(SE)-T1, SE-T2, gradient-echo(GRE) and fluid-attenuationinversion-recovery(FLAIR) sequences at both magnets. Contrast to noise ratio(CNR)(SI contrast-SI saline/SD noise) for each aliquot were calculated and Kruskall-wallis test and graphic analysis was used to compare different pulse sequences and ICMs. RESULTS: Both ICM showed increased SI on SE-T1 and decreased SI on SE-T2, GRE and FLAIR at both 1.5T and 3T, as the concentration was increased. By CNR measurements, SE-T2 had the greatest conspicuity at 3T with undiluted iopamidol(92.6 ± 0.3, P < 0.00) followed by iodixanol(77.5 ± 0.9, P < 0.00) as compared with other sequences(CNR range: 15-40). While SE-T2 had greatest conspicuity at 1.5T with iopamidol(49.3 ± 1, P < 0.01), SE-T1 showed similar or slightly better conspicuity(20.8 ± 4) than SE-T2 with iodixanol(23 ± 1.7). In all cases, hypo-intensity on GRE was less conspicuous than on SE-T2.CONCLUSION: Iodixanol and iopamidol shorten T1 and T2 relaxation times at both 1.5T and 3T. Hypo-intensity due to shortened T2 relaxation time is significantly more conspicuous than signal changes on T1-WI, FLAIR or GRE. Variations in signal conspicuity according to pulse sequence and to type of ICM are exaggerated at 3T. We postulate T2 hypointensity with less GRE conspicuity differentiates ICM from hemorrhage; given the wellknown GRE hypointensity of hemorrhage. Described signal changes may be relevant in the setting of recent intra-arterial or intravenous ICM administration in translational research and/or human stroke therapy.展开更多

The mechanical aspect of ICA displacement was studied in order to better understand the effect of these products on the inner wall of the artery of patients with coronary artery stenosis, undergoing repeated imaging examinations with iodinated contrast agents. ICA flow, ICA and blood flow in the artery were modelled. The fluid was regarded to be viscous, incompressible and Newtonian. Blood flow was presumed to be unidirectional, laminar and unstationary. Iodine flow velocity and retention time were calculated using the Runge-Kutta 4th order method programmed in C++ and MatLab R2013a language. The results showed that for coronary artery CT-scans, ICA retention time is 1 minute 40 seconds and for coronary arteriography it is between 2.41 and 3.61 seconds. The values calculated were compared to theoretical values and to clinical observations. The results enabled us to validate our model.展开更多

Materials and Methods: Iopamidol (IPM) was used as an iodinated contrast medium, and mitomycin C (MTI), epirubicin hydrochloride (EPI), cisplatin (CDDP), 5-fluorouracil (5FU), irinotecan hydrochloride (CPT11), gemcitabine hydrochloride (dFdC), carboplatin (CBDCA), oxaliplatin (1OHP), paclitaxel hydrochloride (TAX) and docetaxel trihydrate (TXT) were used as anticancer drugs. For FT-IR, the purified IPM was mixed stoichiometrically with each anticancer drug as well as with a combination of MTI and EPI. After measuring each separated sample and the mixtures, the spectra of the mixtures were compared with the spectra of the sum of pure samples or the combination. For UV-Vis, IPM and anticancer drugs were dissolved in pure water;subsequently for the titration experiments, the mixtures were prepared by varying the molar ratio. IR absorption corresponds to stretching vibrations between atoms having covalent bonding, whereas UV-Vis spectra depend on molecular dynamics and shapes. Both UV-Vis and IR spectra change when there are molecular interactions such as aromatic ring stacking and hydrogen bonding. Result: IPM exhibited molecular interactions with MTI, EPI, CDDP, dFdC, CBDCA, 1OHP, TAX and TXT, as well as with the combination of MTI and EPI on FT-IR. However, molecular interactions were not observed on UV-Vis. Conclusion: Several anticancer drugs have molecular interactions with IPM, which could be clinically utilized for superselective intraarterial infusion chemotherapy.展开更多

These iodinated peptides were analyzed using a C18 reversed phase HPLC system, applying a linear gradient of water and acetonitrile containing 0.1%(m/v) formic acid as mobile phase. Electrospray ionization(ESI)ion trap mass spectrometry was used for the identification of the modified peptides, while semi-quantification was performed using total ion current(TIC) spectra. Non-iodinated peptides and mono-and diiodinated peptides(NIP, MIP and DIP respectively) were well separated and eluted in that order. Depending on the used iodination method, iodination yields varied from low(2%) to high(57%).展开更多

The objective of this study was to determine the impact of ICM in source waters and the type of disinfectant on the overall toxicity of DBP mixtures and to determine which ICM and reaction conditions give rise to toxic by-products. Source waters collected from Akron,OH were treated with five different ICMs, including iopamidol, iopromide, iohexol, diatrizoate and iomeprol, with or without chlorine or chloramine disinfection. The reaction product mixtures were concentrated with XAD resins and the mammalian cell cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of the reaction mixture concentrates was measured. Water containing iopamidol generated an enhanced level of mammalian cell cytotoxicity and genotoxicity after disinfection. While chlorine disinfection with iopamidol resulted in the highest cytotoxicity overall, the relative iopamidol-mediated increase in toxicity was greater when chloramine was used as the disinfectant compared with chlorine. Four other ICMs(iopromide, iohexol, diatrizoate, and iomeprol) expressed some cytotoxicity over the control without any disinfection, and induced higher cytotoxicity when chlorinated. Only iohexol enhanced genotoxicity compared to the chlorinated source water.展开更多

Solid iodine attracts much attention with the advantages of low cost, extensive availability, low vapor pressure, and ionization potential. The performance of a lowpower iodine-fed Hall thruster matched with a xenon-fed cathode is investigated across a broad range of operation conditions. Regulation of the iodine vapor's mass flow rates is stably achieved by using a temperature control method of the iodine reservoir. The thrust measurements are finished utilizing a thrust target during the tests. Results show that thrust and anode-specific impulse increase approximately linearly with the increasing iodine mass flow rate.At the nominal power of 200 W class, iodine mass flow rates are 0.62 and 0.93 mg/s, thrusts are7.19 and 7.58 m N, anode specific impulses are 1184 and 826 s, anode efficiencies are 20.8%and 14.5%, and thrust to power ratios are 35.9 and 37.9 m N/k W under the conditions of 250 V,0.8 A and 200 V, 1.0 A, respectively. The operating characteristics of iodine-fed Hall thruster are analyzed in different states. Further work on the measurements of plasma characteristics and experimental optimization will be carried out.展开更多

The aim of this review is to assess the medium-term efficacy of outpatient treatment of hyperthyroidism with iodine-131 in Africa. Methods: We identified the studies carried out in Africa on outpatient radiation therapy between 2016 and 2020. For each article included, we noted the country concerned and the year of publication, the numbers studied, the socio-demographic characteristics of the patients, the indications for radio iodine therapy, the dose administered, the results of the hormonal dosage 6 months after radiation. Results: 13 retrospective studies were included to constitute a total population of 925 patients. The average age was 40.77 years, the sex ratio of 1/5.4 with a clear female predominance. The 3 main etiologies of hyperthyroidism justifying outpatient radio iodine therapy were Graves’ disease (55.89%), toxic multinodular goiter (22.70%) and toxic adenoma (21.40%). The average dose of iodine 131 administered per course is 13.7 mCi. No short-and medium-term complications were reported. The radio iodine therapy was effective in 86.08% (n = 796) of the patients with extremes of 72% and 100%. Conclusion: Radio iodine therapy is effective in Africa. It is simple, inexpensive on an outpatient basis and well tolerated. The introduction of outpatient radio iodine therapy could improve the management of patients with hyperthyroidism in Burkina Faso.展开更多

The results demonstrated that ITHM formation decreased in the order of monochloramination > dichloramination > chlorination in acidic and neutral p H. However, the generation of I-THMs increased in the dichloramination < chlorination < monochloramination order in alkaline condition. Specifically, the formation of I-THMs increased as p H increased from 5 to 9 during chlorination and monochloramination processes, while the maximum I-THM formation occurred at pH 7 during dichloramination. The discrepancy could be mainly related to the stability of the three chlor(am) ine disinfectants at different p H conditions. Moreover, in order to gain a thorough insight into the mechanisms of I-THM formation during dichloramination, further investigation was conducted on the influencing factors of DOC concentration and Br/Imolar ratio. I-THM formation exhibited an increasing and then decreasing trend as the concentration of DOC increased from 1 to 7 mg-C/L, while the yield of I-THMs increased with increasing Br/Imolar ratio from 5:0 to 5:10. During the three processes mentioned above, similar I-THM formation results were also obtained in real water, which indicates that the excessive generation of I-THMs should be paid special attention during the disinfection of iodide-containing water.展开更多

This work aims to optimize the preparation of a biosorbent from rubber hulls by studying its ability to adsorb small and medium molecules. The influence of parameters such as drying temperature (X1), particle size (X2), stirring time (X3) and sodium hypochloride mass (X4) was studied. The results indicate that the model used for biosorbent optimization on methylene blue and iodine index is significant. In addition, this model has greater adsorption capabilities on small molecules than with large molecules. Statistical analysis of the data shows that temperature is the most influential factor in the adsorption of small molecules. On the other hand, particle size has a significant influence on the adsorption of large molecules. The optimum biosorbent preparation values are 1.0 for drying temperature (X1), −1.0 for biosorbent grain size (X2), 1.0 for stirring time (X3) and 1.0 for sodium hypochloride mass (X4).展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Ischemic stroke is an entity with high incidence, morbidity, and mortality rates.Carotid artery stenosis is an important and independent risk factor for ischemic stroke. The three current approaches for treating carotid artery stenosis are drug treatment, carotid endarterectomy(CEA),carotid angioplasty and stenting(CAS).The approach is chosen based on the degree of stenosis.CEA or CAS could have been chosen for the current patient, who had severe carotid stenosis and an iodinated contrast allergy. After thoroughly communicating with the patient, the patient chose CAS for treatment. Therefore,we performed ultrasound-guided CAS to avoid the use of iodinated contrast.CASE SUMMARY The main symptoms of the patient were numbness and weakness of the left limb.Computed tomography angiography of the head and neck at another hospital indicated multiple sites of stenosis in the arteries of the head and neck. The patient requested CAS for treatment but was allergic to iodinated contrast media. Thus, routine digital subtraction angiography(DSA)with iodinated contrast could not be used for the procedure. The diagnosis of this patient was as follows:(1)Right parietal lobe cerebral infarction;(2)multiple sites of stenosis in the arteries of the head and neck(severe stenosis of the right internal carotid artery, severe stenosis of the right subclavian artery);(3)right subclavian steal syndrome;and(4)hypertension(stage 3,high risk). The interventions included routine treatment for cerebral infarction, oral administration of clopidogrel(75 mg qd)and aspirin(100 mg qd),ultrasound-guided CAS,and postoperative follow-up.Postoperative color Doppler ultrasound and cerebrovascular magnetic resonance angiography of the carotid artery showed good vascular recovery, and the postoperative follow-up indicated a good prognosis.CONCLUSION This case study suggests that ultrasound-guided endovascular treatment is a potential option for patients with contraindications to the iodinated contrast agents used in DSA-guided surgery, although excellent surgical operating skills are needed.
文摘AIM: To assess current practice of United Kingdom cardiologists with respect to patients with reported shellfish/iodine allergy, and in particular the use of iodinated contrast for elective coronary angiography. Moreover we have reviewed the current evidence-base and guidelines available in this area.METHODS: A questionnaire survey was send to 500senior United Kingdom cardiologists(almost 50% cardiologists registered with British Cardiovascular Society)using email and first 100 responses used to analyze practise. The other 44% do nothing, or do nonspecific testing based on their personal experience as following:(1) Skin test with 1 mL of subcutaneous contrast before intravenous contrast;(2) Test dose 2 mL contrast before coronary injection;(3) Close observation for shellfish allergy patients; and(4) Minimal evidence that the steroid and anti-histamine regime is effective but it makes us feel better.CONCLUSION: There is no evidence that allergy to shellfish alters the risk of reaction to intravenous contrast more than any other allergy and asking about such allergies in pre-angiogram assessment will not provide any additional information except propagating the myth.

文摘AIM: To characterize the effects of iodinated contrast material(ICM) on magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) comparing different sequences and magnetic fields, with emphasis to similarities/differences with well-known signal characteristics of hemorrhage in the brain. Described signal changes may be relevant in the setting of recent intra-arterial or intravenous ICM administration in translational research and/or human stroke therapy.
文摘This study aims to determine the retention time of iodinated contrast agents (ICA) in the coronary artery. The results enabled us to validate our model.
文摘Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess molecular interactions between several anticancer drugs and an iodinated contrast medium by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). Conclusion: Several anticancer drugs have molecular interactions with IPM, which could be clinically utilized for superselective intraarterial infusion chemotherapy.

文摘Five different quorum sensing peptides(QSP) were iodinated using different iodination techniques. Depending on the used iodination method, iodination yields varied from low(2%) to high(57%).

文摘Available online Iodinated X-ray contrast media (ICMs) are clinical drugs used to enhance the imaging effect.Triiodobenzene ring structures of ICMs lead to its extremely high chemical stability, biological inertness, which makes it difficult to be completely removed by traditional water treatment processes.Hence, considerable concentration of ICMs can be frequently detected in aquatic environment.Relying on the strong oxidation capacity of HO·or SO_(4)^(·-),various advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have demonstrated substantial removal efficiency for ICMs.It is evident that ICMs can be decomposed mainly through(1) deiodination,(2) dehydration,(3) decarboxylation,(4) H-abstraction,(5) hydroxyl addition,(6) hydroxyl substitution,(7) oxidation of alcohol groups,(8) cleavage of amide bond, and (9) amino oxidation. However, during the ICMs removal process, the C-I bonds of ICMs molecules are broken, giving rise to the formation of cytotoxic iodination disinfection by-products (I-DBPs) that are potentially more harmful to the ecosystem and human health than their parent compounds. To better understand the technology gaps, this review elaborates the major AOPs which are effective for ICMs removal and emphasizes on the main degradation routes of ICMs in different oxidation system. Some prevailing concerns and challenges are discussed for optimizing the ICMs treatment process.

文摘Iodinated trihalomethanes(I-THMs)in drinking water pipelines have attracted wide attention due to their high toxicity. The coexistence of widely present lead dioxide(PbO_(2))with commonly used disinfectant sodium hypochlorite(NaClO)in drinking water might change the formation characteristics of I-THMs due to the strongly oxidizing properties of PbO_(2).This study investigated the formation of I-THMs during the co-oxidation of natural organic matter including humic acid(HA),extracellular organic matter(EOM),and intracellular organic matter(IOM)of algogenic organic matter by PbO_(2) and NaClO.Triiodomethane(CHI_(3))is the dominant product in the single oxidation system of PbO_(2),whereas trichloromethane(CHCl_(3)),chlorodiiodomethane(CHClI_(2)),and dichloroiodomethane(CHCl2I)are the major products in the single NaClO system. In the co-oxidation system, the dominant I-THMs are similar to those in the single NaClO system. However, the CHCl_(3) content decreased to 56.4%whereas I-THMs concentrations remained unchanged with the increase of PbO_(2) concentration. The main reason is attributed to the reduced residual chlorine content due to the reaction of PbO_(2) with NaClO.IOM is more prone to forming I-THMs than HA and EOM due to the specified structures. This study suggested that PbO_(2) in the drinking water supply pipelines might change the risk of THMs.

文摘Background:More than 75 million procedures with intravascular iodine-based contrast media(ICM)are performed worldwide every year, and some patients undergoing these procedures do not have normal thyroid function. The long-term effects of ICM in patients with mild thyroid dysfunction(TD)are unclear. Methods:This prospective cohort study was conducted in China.Patients with stable angina pectoris with total triiodothyronine(TT3)reduction,normal thyroid-stimulating hormone, and reverse triiodothyronine(rT3)were enrolled and divided into high-dose(≥100 mL ICM)and low-dose groups(<100 mL ICM).We dynamically investigated the trends in thyroid function,rT3,and thyroid antibodies one year after ICM exposure. Results:A total of 154 patients completed 6 months of follow-up and 149 completed 1 year of follow-up.Thyroglobulin antibody(TGAB)levels were elevated in 41(26.6%)patients before ICM exposure,11(7.1%)of whom also had elevated thyroid peroxidase antibody levels.Transient subclinical TD occurred 6 months after ICM exposure;75.5%(34/45)of post-operative TD occurred in the high-dose group. One patient developed severe hypothyroidism with myxedema, requiring drug intervention 1 year after ICM exposure. The level of rT3 showed no statistically significant changes during post-operative follow-up(P=0.848).The TGAB level decreased at 6th month(P<0.001),but increased at 1 year after ICM exposure(P=0.002).Conclusions:Patients with T3 reduction are at a risk of transient subclinical TD and hypothyroidism after a single large dose of ICM.Follow-up of this population at 9-12 months after ICM exposure is warranted.

文摘The presence of iodinated X-ray contrast media(ICM) in source waters is of high concern to public health because of their potential to generate highly toxic disinfection by-products(DBPs). Only iohexol enhanced genotoxicity compared to the chlorinated source water.

文摘Applying iodine fertilizers to cultivate iodine-rich crops for daily intake is an effective approach for iodine supplementation, especially for aromatic rice.Field experiments were conducted during the early growing seasons of 2021 and 2022 to evaluate the impacts of foliar application of iodine fertilizer on aromatic rice and to explore the optimal iodine fertilizer concentration. At the full heading stage, six different concentrations of sodium iodide solutions of 0%(CK),0.010%(T1),0.025%(T2),0.050%(T3),0.075%(T4),and 0.100%(T5)were applied to indica aromatic rice cultivars Meixiangzhan 2 and Xiangyaxiangzhan. The results showed that sodium iodide treatments significantly increased the iodine and sodium contents in both leaves and grains.Compared with the CK,the T1 and T2 treatments increased the 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline(2-AP)content in mature grains by 8.41%-101.66%and 13.58%-74.60%,respectively.Improvements in the contents of 1-pyrroline-5-carboxylic acid,proline,1-pyrroline,and methylglyoxal,as well as the activity of proline dehydrogenase were also detected.Additionally, sodium iodide treatments remarkably decreased the chalky grain rate, chalkiness area, and chalkiness degree of aromatic rice, with the T2 treatment exhibiting a 17.79%-47.42%decrease in chalkiness degree compared with the CK.Meanwhile,T1 and T2 treatments showed beneficial impacts on chlorophyll content, photosynthetic characteristics, and yield components, while T3,T4,and T5 treatments exhibited adverse effects on leaf and grain yields. The linear discriminant analysis revealed significant differences between treatments. The correlation analysis and piecewise structural equation modeling showed that the iodine and sodium influenced the photosynthetic characteristics and chlorophyll content of the leaves, thereby regulating the 2-AP biosynthesis and yield components, ultimately affecting the 2-AP content and yield.Overall, this study suggests that foliar application of 0.025%sodium iodide is an effective method to enrich the iodine content in rice grains, improve the grain aroma and appearance quality of aromatic rice, without detrimental effects on grain yield.

文摘The common propellants used for electric thrusters, such as xenon and krypton, are rare, expensive, and difficult to acquire. Further work on the measurements of plasma characteristics and experimental optimization will be carried out.

文摘Li-I_(2) batteries have attracted much interest due to their high capacity, exceptional rate performance, and low cost.Even so,the problems of unstable Li anode/electrolyte interface and severe polyiodide shuttle in Li-I_(2) batteries need to be tackled.Herein, the interfacial reactions on the Li anode and I_(2) cathode have been effectively optimized by employing a well-designed gel polymer electrolyte strengthened by cross-linked Ti-O/Si-O(GPETS).The interpenetrating network-reinforced GPETS with high ionic conductivity(1.88×10^(-3)S cm^(-1)at 25℃)and high mechanical strength endows uniform Li deposition/stripping over 1800 h(at 1.0mA cm^(-2),with a plating capacity of 3.0mAh cm^(-2)).Moreover,the GPETS abundant in surface hydroxyls is capable of capturing soluble polyiodides at the interface and accelerating their conversion kinetics, thus synergistically mitigating the shuttle effect.Benefiting from these properties, the use of GPETS results in a high capacity of 207 mAh g^(-1)(1 C)and an ultra-low fading rate of 0.013%per cycle over 2000 cycles(5 C).The current study provides new insights into advanced electrolytes for Li-I_(2) batteries.

文摘This editorial comments on the article by Qu et al in a recent edition of World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology, focusing on the importance of early diagnosis in managing esophageal cancer and strategies for achieving“early detection”.The five-year age-standardized net survival for esophageal cancer patients falls short of expectations.Early detection and accurate diagnosis are critical strategies for improving the treatment outcomes of esophageal cancer. While advancements in endoscopic technology have been significant, there seems to be an excessive emphasis on the latest high-end endoscopic devices and various endoscopic resection techniques. Therefore,it is imperative to redirect focus towards proactive early detection strategies for esophageal cancer, investigate the most cost-effective screening methods suitable for different regions, and persistently explore practical solutions to improve the five-year survival rate of patients with esophageal cancer.
文摘BACKGROUND Currently, the differentiation of jaw tumors is mainly based on the lesion’s morphology rather than the enhancement characteristics, which are important in the differentiation of neoplasms across the body. There is a paucity of literature on the enhancement characteristics of jaw tumors. This is mainly because, even though computed tomography(CT)is used to evaluate these lesions, they are often imaged without intravenous contrast. This study hypothesised that the enhancement characteristics of the solid component of jaw tumors can aid in the differentiation of these lesions in addition to their morphology by dual-energy CT,therefore improving the ability to differentiate between various pathologies.AIM To evaluate the role of contrast enhancement and dual-energy quantitative parameters in CT in the differentiation of jaw tumors.METHODS Fifty-seven patients with jaw tumors underwent contrast-enhanced dual-energy CT.Morphological analysis of the tumor, including the enhancing solid component, was done, followed by quantitative analysis of iodine concentration(IC),water concentration(WC),HU,and normalized IC.The study population was divided into four subgroups based on histopathological analysis-central giant cell granuloma(CGCG),ameloblastoma, odontogenic keratocyst(OKC),and other jaw tumors.A one-way ANOVA test for parametric variables and the Kruskal-Wallis test for nonparametric variables were used.If significant differences were found,a series of independent t-tests or Mann-Whitney U tests were used.RESULTS Ameloblastoma was the most common pathology(n=20),followed by CGCG(n=11)and OKC.CGCG showed a higher mean concentration of all quantitative parameters than ameloblastomas(P<0.05).An IC threshold of 31.35×100μg/cm^(3) had the maximum sensitivity(81.8%)and specificity(65%).Between ameloblastomas and OKC,the former showed a higher mean concentration of all quantitative parameters(P<0.001),however when comparing unilocular ameloblastomas with OKCs,the latter showed significantly higher WC.Also, ameloblastoma had a higher IC and lower WC compared to“other jaw tumors”group.CONCLUSION Enhancement characteristics of solid components combined with dual-energy parameters offer a more precise way to differentiate between jaw tumors.
文摘Introduction: In hyperthyroidism, selective irradiation of the thyroid gland with radioactive iodine is a radical treatment and an alternative to surgery. The introduction of outpatient radio iodine therapy could improve the management of patients with hyperthyroidism in Burkina Faso.

文摘In this study, the formation of iodinated trihalomethanes(I-THMs) was systematically evaluated and compared for three treatment processes-(i) chlorination,(ii) monochloramine, and(iii) dichloramination-under different p H conditions. During the three processes mentioned above, similar I-THM formation results were also obtained in real water, which indicates that the excessive generation of I-THMs should be paid special attention during the disinfection of iodide-containing water.
文摘In the context of the recovery of agricultural waste, many researches have focused on the preparation of adsorbents from natural waste from fruit trees, egg shells, palm waste or sawdust. The optimum biosorbent preparation values are 1.0 for drying temperature (X1), −1.0 for biosorbent grain size (X2), 1.0 for stirring time (X3) and 1.0 for sodium hypochloride mass (X4).
