The ionization spectrum of sulfur dioxide has been successfully studied by using the symmetry-adapted-cluster configuration-interaction (SAC-CI) general-R and SD-R methods and the basis set correlation-consistent po...The ionization spectrum of sulfur dioxide has been successfully studied by using the symmetry-adapted-cluster configuration-interaction (SAC-CI) general-R and SD-R methods and the basis set correlation-consistent polarized valence triple-zeta (cc-pVTZ). The SAC-CI general-R method reproduces the experimental spectrum well for both the main peaks and the satellite peaks of ionization spectrum of SO2. The sequence of ionic states corresponding to main peaks of SO2 has been re-determined according to the SAC-CI conclusions and it is reordered as X^2A1, A^2B2, B2A2, C^2B1,D^2A1, E^2B2 and F^2A1. Besides, the equilibrium structures and adiabatic ionization potentials (AIPs) of ionic states of main peaks of SO2 are calculated by using the SAC-CI SD-R method.展开更多

The results showed that the plasma density, which was generated by an atmospheric non-equilibrium plasma source, rises with the increase in driving electric-field and the momentum of gas particles. For a driving electricfield of 56 kV/cm and a gas particles' momentum of 10^9 × 10^-22 g·m/s, the ion density can exceed 10^10/cm^3 while the effective volume of the plasma source is only 2.5 cm^2. This study may help develop a method to generate a minitype plasma source with low energy consumption but high ion concentration. This source can be used in chemical industry, environmental engineering and military applications.展开更多

In the mode! of a spherically symmetric and is...This paper presents the results of an extensive set of calculations about ionization equilibrium and NLTE effects on compact circumstellar HII regions embedded in clouds. In the mode! of a spherically symmetric and isothermal wind with a steady mass loss, pure hydrogen composition as well as Sobolev approximation, our research indicates that compact HII regions are far away from LTE state. The collisional ionization and photoionization from excited levels have great effects on the size of an HII region, the distribution of departure coefficients and the flux ratio of observed spectral lines. They can be used to explain the infrared line excess and the line deficit problems of YSOs. We conclude that it is unreasonable to infer the spectral type, mass loss rate and foreground extinction of the central star from optically thin line recombination theory.展开更多
