Generally, if the separation between transmitting and receiving antennas is not sufficient, the oscillation of repeater and the interference due to the feedback signals from original transmitted signal may be oectLrr. Hence, the Interference Cancellation System (ICS) should be implemented as the important part of the repeater system for the mobile cellular systems in order to eliminate unwanted signals from the corrupted signals in the receiver. In this paper, we propose an adaptive technique for the Least Mean Square(LMS)-based interference cancellation methods by changing the step size according to the variation of channel envirorauent in onter to improve the performance degradation which occta-rs by using the fixed step size approach. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme attains a little lower Ber Error Rate(BER) performance and much faster convergence speed compared to the conventional LMS-based interference cancellation techniques. The proposed scheme can be applied to other Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple(OFDM)-based cellular systenas and also be expected to achieve a similar performance improvement to IMT-advanced system, which is called as the next generation mobile communication standards.展开更多

Unlike the conventional linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector, which requires matrix inversion at each iteration, the soft-in soft-out (SISO) detector is simply a parallel interference cancellation (PIC)-matched filter (MF) operation. The probability density function (PDF) of PIC-MF detector output is approximated as Gaussian, whose variance is calculated with a priori information fed back from the channel decoder. With this approximation, the log likelihood ratios (LLRs) of transmitted bits are under-estimated. Then the LLRs are multiplied by a constant factor to achieve a performance gain. The constant factor is optimized according to extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) chart of the SISO detector. Simulation results show that the proposed iterative receiver can significantly improve the system performance and converge to the matched filter bound (MFB) with low computational complexity at high signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs).展开更多

Compared with the conventional receiver based on soft interference cancellation(SIC), an iterative detection scheme based on bit-level cancellation is presented to reduce the complexity of the receiver by decomposing of an M-QAM constellation into a linear Combination of binary constellations. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with the conventional SIC scheme, the proposed scheme based on bit-level cancellation performs almost as well as the SIC scheme after several iterations while proving a lot of saving in computational complexity.展开更多

This interference canceller is robust in the sense that it cancels Inter-Carriers Inter-ference (ICI) and is suitable for use in dispersive channels. To come up the effects of the signaldispersion, Doppler shifts and delay spreads on the performance of MC-CDMA systems over mo-bile fading channels, this interference canceller exploits the merit of the orthogonal signaling andpilot signals to evaluate the channel parameters. Its basis concept is that the reliability of extrinsic information will be strengthened with continuous iterations. Extrinsic information of present iteration is added with prior information of last iteration to obtain performance gain. The simulation results show that the improved iterative receiver can approach the 5th iteration performance of conventional soft interference cancellation (SIC)-minimum mean square error (MMSE) iterative receiver after the 2nd iteration with less computational complexity.
