Magnetic field distributions of solenoid coils have been calculated electrodynamically. For Ar +H2 plasma, the effects of an akial magnetic field and gas flow rate on the characttristics of the plasma jet were studied. Electron temperature, density and plasma velocity at 80 mm from the nozzle have been measured using a floating double probe and a Mach probe. The values of the heat fluxes to substrate were derived from experimental data. 展开更多

A novel DC plasma torch with multiple cathodes is developed for generating laminar, transitional and turbulent plasma jets. The jet's characteristics, including jet appearance, voltage fluctuation, thermal efficiency, specific enthalpy, and distributions of temperature, pressure, and velocity, are experimentally investigated. The results show that as the gas flow rate increases, the plasma jet transforms first from the laminar state to the transitional state and second to the turbulent state. Compared with the transitional/turbulent jet, the laminar jet possesses not only a better stability and a longer hightemperature zone but also a higher average/core temperature and a higher specific enthalpy at the nozzle's outlet. With the change of jet states from the laminar to the turbulent flow, the core pressure and velocity at the nozzle's outlet increase,while the decaying rates of temperature/pressure/velocity along the jet's axial direction increase sharply. Furthermore, applications of laminar, transitional and turbulent jets for zirconia spray coating are described. The test results indicate that the long laminar jet is favorable for the deposition of a high-quality coating because the powder particles injected into the laminar jet may have better heating and lower kinetic energy. 展开更多

The numerical simulation for the process of shaped charge jet produced with the shell of explosives is performed by means of the ANSYS/LS-DYNA 3D software. The effect of warhead shell on shaped charge jet velocity has been analyzed qualitatively in this paper. The numerical simulation results are creditable and in agreement well with that of the corresponding experiment. The research results show that the jet velocity of explosive with metal shell is higher than that without shell; when the shell thickness increases, jet' s head speed also increases; when the shell thickness increased to certain value, the jet velocity will not change any longer; with the same shell thickness, the bigger material density the higher jet's head velocity. 展开更多

Holographic energy loss near critical temperature in an anisotropic background

We study the energy loss of a quark moving in a strongly coupled quark gluon plasma under the influence of anisotropy.The heavy quark drag force,diffusion coefficient,and jet quenching parameter are calculated using the Einstein–Maxwell-dilaton model,where the anisotropic background is characterized by an arbitrary dynamical parameter A.Our findings indicate that as the anisotropic factor A increases,the drag force and jet quenching parameter both increase,while the diffusion coefficient decreases.Additionally,we observe that the energy loss becomes more significant when the quark moves perpendicular to the anisotropy direction in the transverse plane.The enhancement of the rescaled jet quenching parameters near critical temperature Tc,as well as drag forces for a fast-moving heavy quark is observed,which presents one of the typical features of quantum chromodynamics phase transition. 展开更多
