Background:Teacher burnout is a serious issue in the field of education, particularly in early childhood education, where teachers face high levels of work stress and emotional labor, leading to emotional exhaustion and job burnout. However, past research has not sufficiently explored the mechanisms of social skills, empathy, and mindfulness in mitigating teacher burnout. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relationship between preschool teachers’social skills, empathy, and mindfulness with job burnout,in order to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for reducing teacher burnout. Methods:This research utilized a convenience sampling approach to target preschool teachers for a questionnaire survey.A total of 1109 questionnaires were collected. To ensure the quality of the data,we excluded questionnaires that were not carefully filled out in terms of lie scale questions, those with abnormal demographic variables, and outliers identified based on response time.Ultimately,901 valid questionnaires were obtained, achieving a valid response rate of 81.2%.Participants’levels of social skills, empathy, mindfulness, and job burnout were assessed using the Social Skills Scale(SKS),Empathy Scale(Measure of Empathy,ME),Mindful Attention Awareness Scale(MAAS),and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey(MBI-ES),respectively.Data analysis was conducted using SPSS.Results:After controlling for gender, age, teaching experience, educational level, grade taught, and location of the kindergarten, the study found:(1)There is a negative correlation between preschool teachers’social skills and the level of job burnout(r=−0.238);(2)Empathy has a dual-track effect on job burnout, where cognitive empathy negatively affects job burnout(r=−0.245),while emotional empathy has a positive effect(r=0.045);(3)Cognitive empathy partially mediates the relationship between social skills and job burnout(β=−0.124);(4)Mindfulness significantly impacts social skills, cognitive empathy, and job burnout(r=0.278;r=0.286;r=−0.539),and plays a moderating role in the mediation model(β=0.003;β=−0.023).Conclusion:These findings provide theoretical support for the development of burnout prevention and intervention strategies targeted at preschool teachers. They also point out new directions for future research and potential intervention targets, suggesting that enhancing preschool teachers’social skills and cognitive empathy,as well as increasing their mindfulness level, can help them cope with work-related stress and emotional labor, thereby alleviating job burnout. 展开更多

This study aimed to examine the relationship between junior high school novice English teachers’emotion regulation and job burnout. To achieve this purpose,a survey consisting of various scales was administered to 133 primary school teachers selected from Yunnan Province in China.Statistical analyses revealed gender differences in job burnout and emotion regulation among these teachers and highlighted the association between these two variables. The findings established that male novice English teachers in junior schools generally experience lower levels of job burnout and possess better emotion regulation skills compared to their female counterparts.Additionally,a strong negative correlation was identified between job burnout and emotional regulation skills, indicating that the stronger the emotional regulation skills, the less likely novice English teachers are to experience job burnout. The study further emphasized caution in the use of cognitive reappraisal as an emotion regulation strategy,as it may have an adverse effect on mitigating job burnout. This study concluded with recommendations for providing junior high school novice English teachers with opportunities to develop and enhance their emotion regulation skills to reduce job burnout effectively. 展开更多

This can lead to workaholism and may result in stress and job burnout. The main objective of the current study is to examine the relationship of workaholism with stress and job burnout of elementary school teachers in Zahedan. This is a descriptive-correlational study. The sample includes 350 elementary school teachers in Zahedan whom are selected through applying stratified random sampling method and are examined using questionnaires on workaholism, occupational stress, and job burnout. To analyze the obtained data, correlation coefficient and simultaneous multiple regression analysis are applied using SPSS21. Teachers’ mean scores on workaholism, stress and job burnout are higher than the considered theoretical mean. Workaholism and its components (feeling of being driven to work, work involvement, and work enjoyment) are significantly and positively related to job burnout and occupational stress (p ). The results of simultaneous multiple regression analysis indicate that components of workaholism can predict teachers’ occupational stress and job burnout (p ). Considering the results, holding training courses for teachers to become familiar with the phenomena of workaholism, stress, and job burnout, individual and organizational outcomes, methods of dealing with them and managing them effectively is highly recommended. 展开更多

Objective: To study factors influencing nurses' job burnout and their subjective well-being and to explore the relationships between these two phenomena. Methods: A total of 250 nurses from three hospitals in Shandong were evaluated with the Maslach Burnout Inventory and a subjective well-being scale. Results: Nursing staff showed significantly different levels of job burnout (P〈0.05) according to the following characteristics: age, marital status, educational background, technical tide, years of nursing experience, monthly income, manning quotas and parental status. Level of burnout is higher for nursing staff who are under the age of 30 years, are unmarried, had secondary education, had unofficial manning quota status, are childless, hold a primary title and whose years of nursing experience are less than five years. Statistical significance was found for life satisfaction (P〈0.05) with differences in age; marital status; technical title; years of nursing experience; monthly income; manning quota status; and parental status in positive emotion, negative emotion and degree. There is a significant negative correlation between every dimension of job burnout and life satisfaction and positive emotions for subjective well-being. Every component of job burnout was significantly positively correlated with negative emotions. (P〈0.05) Conclusions: Age, marital status, educational background, technical rifle, years of nursing ex- perience, monthly income, manning quotas and parental status have different influences on occupation burnout and subjective well-being. Dimensions of occupation burnout have functions of predicting subjective well-being. 展开更多

In a fast-paced career, employees are facing more and more pressure, and job burnout caused by long-term work pressure has become the main reason for many employees to leave. If the job burnout can’t be effectively resolved,it will have a great impact on personal future development and the good running of the enterprise.Starting from the perspective of organizational psychology, this study investigates 200 employees on their psychological contracts and job burnouts to discover the relationship between them that people are most concerned about at the moment,so as to propose some reasonable suggestions to improve the employee job burnout and enhance the mutual identification between employee and the company. The research results show that job burnout and psychological contract show a critically negative correlation;the stronger the psychological contract, the lower the probability of employee job burnout. In addition, the establishment of a strong psychological contract between the company and the employee can effectively reduce the employee’s job burnout, thereby ensuring the mutual benefit of the employee and the company. 展开更多

The research followed a cross-correlational method. The statistical population included all male and female high school teachers in the academic year 2014 in Zabol. In this study, considering participants’ gender, stratified random sampling method was used. Data collecting was performed through applying the Maslach’s Burnout Inventory and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). The content validity was checked and alpha coefficients for the variables of general health and job burnout were 0.92 and 0.81, respectively. In this research study, Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis, and independent t-test were conducted to analyze the hypotheses using SPSS v.21. Results revealed that general health and its dimensions were significantly and positively correlated with job burnout of male and female high school teachers in Zabol. Additionally, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization were significantly and negatively related to general health. Regarding the priority of the predictor variables of teachers’ general health, in the first step, emotional exhaustion, in the second step, depersonalization and in the third step, lack of personal accomplishment entered into the prediction model, these three variables together predicted 21% of variations in general health. Moreover, general health and job burnout were not significantly correlated in terms of gender. 展开更多

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between life orientation and cognitive emotion regulation with job stress. On this basis, a sample of 100 employees working in Guilan Education Office was used and research hypotheses were examined by job stress, life orientation and cognitive emotion regulation questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that job stress has a significant relationship with life orientation (-0.32), self-blame (0.25), rumination (-0.36), positive refocusing (0.25), positive refocusing on program (-0.21), positive reappraisal (-0.28), catastrophizing (-0.39) and other blames (-0.25). Furthermore, life orientation and cognitive regulation could explain 22% variances in respondents’ job stress. This finding indicates that more positive life orientation and subsequent decrease of emotion-regulation-related disorders will lead to less job stress. 展开更多

A successful construction project hinges on the effective and efficient management of human resources. The stress of human resources is directly related with work performance, and as such, should be managed to improve work performance. This study aims to perform a comparative analysis of job stress levels after a survey on the job stress of field managers and workers. Through the analysis, it is found that the stress levels of field managers are different from those of the workers and construction field managers and workers get job stress scores less than average scores of Korean male workers. In addition, different personal factors affect the field managers and the workers differently. Therefore, understanding by which factor the other parties become stressed is expected to improve efficiency in the management of human resources. 展开更多

Objective: To test a causal model of job stress among nurse-midwives working in labor and delivery units in Thailand. Methods: Random and convenience sampling was used to recruit 282 nurse-midwives with at least 6 months of work experience from 16 regional ter tiary hospitals in Thailand. Data were collected from May to December 2020. Research instruments with good internal consistency reliability ranged from 0.83 to 0.91 including the Job Stress Scale and the Thai version of the Job Content Questionnaire(TJCQ). Descriptive statistics and a structural equation model were used for data analysis. Results: Job demands were the strongest predictor of job stress. At the theoretical level, high job control plays a crucial role in directly reducing job stress. However, the present research provides contrary evidence to the theoretical predictions. When nurse-midwives perceive high job control, they perceive pressure to meet the expectations of their supervisors and colleagues. Therefore, high job control can contribute to job stress. Likewise, job suppor t had an indirect effect on job stress among nurse-midwives through job control. The modified model fitted the empirical data(χ^(2) = 57.76, df = 22, CMIN/df = 2.62, goodness of fit(GFI) =0.96, adjusted goodness of fit(AGFI) =0.91, comparative fit index(CFI) = 0.95, and root mean square error of approximation(RMSEA) = 0.07). The effects of job demands, job control, and job suppor t on job stress among Thai nurse-midwives can explain 67% of the model’s total variance for job stress. Conclusions: Nurse-midwives who encounter high job demands and less control over their work control suffer from job stress. Job support does not directly affect nurse-midwives’ job stress but influences it through perceived job control. Strategies to decrease job stress among Thai nurse-midwives should focus on how to balance job demands, and enhance job control, and job suppor t. 展开更多
