A force analysis method of metamorphic mechanisms is developed by transforming the augmented Assur groups into Assur groups, so that the force analysis problem of metamorphic mechanisms is converted into the force analysis problems of conventional planar mechanisms. The constraint force change rules and values of metamorphic joints are obtained by the proposed method, and the constraint force analysis equations of revolute metamorphic joints in augmented Assur group RRRR and prismatic metamorphic joints in augmented Assur group RRPR are deduced. The constraint force analysis is illustrated by the constrained spring force design of paper folding metamorphic mechanism, and its metamorphic working process is controlled by the spring force and geometric constraints of metamorphic joints. The results of spring force show that developped design method and approach are feasible and practical. By transforming augmented Assur groups into Assur groups, a new method for the constraint force analysis of metamorphic joints is proposed firstly to provide the basis for dynamic analysis of metamorphic mechanism.展开更多

However, almost all of the traditional modal analysis methods view the flexible manipulator as a pure mechanical...Modal analysis is a fundamental and important task for modeling and control of the flexible manipulator. However, almost all of the traditional modal analysis methods view the flexible manipulator as a pure mechanical structure and neglect feedback action of joint controller. In order to study the effects of joint controller on the modal analysis of rotational flexible manipulator, a closed-loop analytical modal analysis method is proposed. Firstly, two exact boundary constraints, namely servo feedback constraint and bending moment constraint, are derived to solve the vibration partial differential equation. It is found that the stiffness and damping gains of joint controller are both included in the boundary conditions, which lead to an unconventional secular term. Secondly, analytical algorithm based on Ritz approach is developed by using Laplace transform and complex modal approach to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes. And then, the numerical simulations are performed and the computational results show that joint controller has pronounced influence on the modal parameters: joint controller stiffness reduces the natural frequency, while joint controller damping makes the shape phase non-zero. Furthermore, the validity of the presented conclusion is confirmed through experimental studies. These findings are expected to improve the performance of dynamics simulation systems and model-based controllers.展开更多

Multi-fastener joint loads and manufacturing constraints are considered simultaneously. On one hand, the joint loads are calculated and constrained within a limited value to avoid the failure of fasteners. On the other hand, the manufacturing constraints of the material distribution in the machining directions of stiffeners are implemented by an improved piecewise interpolation based on a beveled cut-surface. It is proven that the objective function is strictly continuous and differentiable with respect to the piecewise interpolation. The effects of the extended method with two different constraints are highlighted by typical numerical examples. Compared with the standard topology optimization, the final designs have clearly shown the layout of stiffeners and the joint loads have been perfectly constrained to a satisfying level.展开更多
A multi-layer dictionary learning algorithm that joints global constraints and Fisher discrimination(JGCFD-MDL)for image classification tasks was proposed.The algorithm reveals the manifold structure of the data by le...A multi-layer dictionary learning algorithm that joints global constraints and Fisher discrimination(JGCFD-MDL)for image classification tasks was proposed.The algorithm reveals the manifold structure of the data by learning the global constraint dictionary and introduces the Fisher discriminative constraint dictionary to minimize the intra-class dispersion of samples and increase the inter-class dispersion.To further quantify the abstract features that characterize the data,a multi-layer dictionary learning framework is constructed to obtain high-level complex semantic structures and improve image classification performance.Finally,the algorithm is verified on the multi-label dataset of court costumes in the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty,and better performance is obtained.Experiments show that compared with the local similarity algorithm,the average precision is improved by 3.34%.Compared with the single-layer dictionary learning algorithm,the one-error is improved by 1.00%,and the average precision is improved by 0.54%.Experiments also show that it has better performance on general datasets.展开更多

These challenges are being further compounded by rapid socioeconomic devel- opment and p...Currently, environmental protection and resources conservation continue to be challenges faced by solid-waste managers in China. These challenges are being further compounded by rapid socioeconomic devel- opment and population growth associated with increased waste generation rates and decreased waste disposal capacities. In response to these challenges, an interval joint-probabilistic mixed-integer programming (IJMP) method is developed for supporting long-term planning of waste management activities in the city of Tianjin, which is one of the largest municipalities in the northern part of China. In the IJMP, joint probabilistic constraints are introduced into an interval-parameter mixed-integer programming framework, such that uncertainties presented in terms of interval values and random variables can be reflected. Moreover, a number of violation levels for the waste-management-capacity constraints are examined, which can facilitate in-depth analyses of tradeoffs among economic objective and system-failure risk. The results indicate that reasonable solutions have been generated. They are valuable for supporting the adjustment of the city's existing waste-management practices and the long- term planning of the city's waste-management facilities.展开更多
Transmission network expansion can significantly improve the penetration level of renewable generation.However,existing studies have not explicitly revealed and quantified the trade-off between the investment cost and...Transmission network expansion can significantly improve the penetration level of renewable generation.However,existing studies have not explicitly revealed and quantified the trade-off between the investment cost and penetration level of renewable generation.This paper proposes a distributionally robust optimization model to minimize the cost of transmission network expansion under uncertainty and maximize the penetration level of renewable generation.The proposed model includes distributionally robust joint chance constraints,which maximize the minimum expectation of the renewable utilization probability among a set of certain probability distributions within an ambiguity set.The proposed formulation yields a twostage robust optimization model with variable bounds of the uncertain sets,which is hard to solve.By applying the affine decision rule,second-order conic reformulation,and duality,we reformulate it into a single-stage standard robust optimization model and solve it efficiently via commercial solvers.Case studies are carried on the Garver 6-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.展开更多
