In this paper,we investigate the effective deployment of millimeter wave(mmWave)in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-enabled wireless powered communication network(WPCN).In particular,a novel framework for optimizing the p...In this paper,we investigate the effective deployment of millimeter wave(mmWave)in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-enabled wireless powered communication network(WPCN).In particular,a novel framework for optimizing the performance of such UAV-enabled WPCN in terms of system throughput is proposed.In the considered model,multiple UAVs monitor in the air along the scheduled flight trajectory and transmit monitoring data to micro base stations(mBSs)with the harvested energy via mmWave.In this case,we propose an algorithm for jointly optimizing transmit power and energy transfer time.To solve the non-convex optimization problem with tightly coupled variables,we decouple the problem into more tractable subproblems.By leveraging successive convex approximation(SCA)and block coordinate descent techniques,the optimal solution is obtained by designing a two-stage joint iteration optimization algorithm.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm with joint transmit power and energy transfer time optimization achieves significant performance gains over Q-learning method and other benchmark schemes.展开更多

Simultaneously with deriving the orthotropic anisotropy elastic parameters along the positive axis, the equivalent compliance matrix for the deflection axis orthotropic anisotropy was derived through a three- dimensional coordinate transformation. In addition, Singh's analysis of the stress concentration effects of intermittent joints was adopted, based on two groups of intermittent joints and a set of cross- cutting joints in the jointed rock mass. The stress concentration effects caused by intermittent joints and the coupling effect of cross-cutting joints along the deflection-axis are also considered. The proposed anisotropic mechanics parameters method is applied to determine the deformation parameters of jointed granite at the Taishan Nuclear Power Station. Combined with the deterministic mechanical parameters of rock blocks and joints, the deformation parameters and their variability in jointed rock masses are estimated quantitatively. The computed results show that jointed granite at the Taishan Nuclear Power Station exhibits typical anisotropic mechanical characteristics; the elastic moduli in the two horizontal directions were similar, but the elastic modulus in the vertical direction was much greater. Jointed rock elastic moduli in the two horizontal and vertical directions were respectively about 24% and 37% of the core of rock, showing weakly orthotropic anisotropy; the ratio of elastic moduli in the vertical and horizontal directions was 1.53, clearly indicating the transversely isotropic rock mass mechanical characteristics. The method can be popularized to solve other rock mechanics problems in nuclear power engineering.展开更多

However, this case exists widely in practical applications, especially in passive radar systems. In this paper, we propose a joint DOA and polarization estimation method for unequal power sources based on the reconstructed noise subspace. The invariance property of noise subspace(IPNS) to power of sources has been proved an effective method to estimate DOA of unequal power sources. We develop the IPNS method for joint DOA and polarization estimation based on a dual polarized array. Moreover, we propose an improved IPNS method based on the reconstructed noise subspace, which has higher resolution probability than the IPNS method. It is theoretically proved that the IPNS to power of sources is still valid when the eigenvalues of the noise subspace are changed artificially. Simulation results show that the resolution probability of the proposed method is enhanced compared with the methods based on the IPNS and the polarimetric multiple signal classification(MUSIC) method. Meanwhile, the proposed method has approximately the same estimation accuracy as the IPNS method for the weak source.展开更多

To solve the medium and long term power load forecasting problem,the combination forecasting method is further expanded and a weighted combination forecasting model for power load is put forward.This model is divided ...To solve the medium and long term power load forecasting problem,the combination forecasting method is further expanded and a weighted combination forecasting model for power load is put forward.This model is divided into two stages which are forecasting model selection and weighted combination forecasting.Based on Markov chain conversion and cloud model,the forecasting model selection is implanted and several outstanding models are selected for the combination forecasting.For the weighted combination forecasting,a fuzzy scale joint evaluation method is proposed to determine the weight of selected forecasting model.The percentage error and mean absolute percentage error of weighted combination forecasting result of the power consumption in a certain area of China are 0.7439%and 0.3198%,respectively,while the maximum values of these two indexes of single forecasting models are 5.2278%and 1.9497%.It shows that the forecasting indexes of proposed model are improved significantly compared with the single forecasting models.展开更多

This system has been installed in Cheongna district of Incheon city. KEPCO and LS Cable are also planning to build the cooling system in a tunnel in order to reduce the ambient temperature caused by currents. BACKGROUND Septic arthritis of the manubriosternal joint is a diagnostic challenge due to its rarity and anatomical characteristic.Conventional ultrasound,plain radiographs,and computed tomography are not able to conf...BACKGROUND Septic arthritis of the manubriosternal joint is a diagnostic challenge due to its rarity and anatomical characteristic.Conventional ultrasound,plain radiographs,and computed tomography are not able to confirm or even suspect arthritis early.Superb microvascular imaging is a new advanced Doppler technique in evaluating low-flow microvascular patterns.The higher sensitivity for increased perisynovial vascularity helps to suspect septic arthritis and forms a methodical approach to using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).CASE SUMMARY A 34-year-old immunocompetent woman presented with a fever and a dull ache in the chest radiating to the right arm.Traumatic injury and the most common respiratory and cardiac disorders were ruled out.Blood cultures came back positive for Staphylococcus aureus,and sepsis was confirmed.A small lump was noted on the chest during the first week of hospitalization.Superb microvascular imaging was performed and septic arthritis of the manubriosternal joint was detected.MRI confirmed the diagnosis and showed septic arthritis of the manubriosternal joint with several localized abscesses behind the sternum.The patient was treated for three weeks with intravenous antibiotics and the outcome was favorable:Inflammatory markers became normal,and the lump disappeared.Three months later,the patient was examined for a new episode of mild pain in the sternum and was diagnosed with persistent perichondritis by ultrasound in comparison with MRI.CONCLUSION Superb microvascular imaging is a useful tool for the early diagnosis of septic arthritis of the manubriosternal joint and following-up.展开更多
