By using a composite material composed of a mixture of T800 carbon fiber and AG80 epoxy resin to design pressure vessels, this material combination can significantly improve the interlaminar shear strength and heat resistance. The article elaborates on the basic concepts and failure criteria of composite materials, such as the maximum stress criterion, the maximum strain criterion, the Tsai-Hill criterion, etc. With the help of the APDL parametric modeling language, the arc-shaped, parabolic, elliptical, and fitting curve-shaped pressure vessel models are accurately constructed, and the material property settings and mesh division are completed. Subsequently, APDL is used for static analysis, and the genetic algorithm toolbox built into Matlab is combined to carry out optimization calculations to determine the optimal laying angle. The research results show that the equivalent stress corresponding to the optimal laying angle of the arc-shaped pressure vessel is 5.3685e+08 Pa, the elliptical one is 5.1969e+08 Pa, the parabolic one is 5.8692e+08 Pa, and the fitting curve-shaped one is 5.36862e+08 Pa. Among them, the stress distribution of the fitting curve-shaped pressure vessel is relatively more uniform, with a deformation of 0.568E−03 m, a minimum equivalent stress value of 0.261E+09 Pa, a maximum equivalent stress value of 0.537E+09 Pa, and a ratio of 0.48, which conforms to the equivalent stress criterion. In addition, the fitting curve of this model can adapt to various models and has higher practical value. However, the stress distribution of the elliptical and parabolic pressure vessels is uneven, and their applicability is poor. In the future, further exploration can be conducted on the application of the fitting curve model in composite materials to optimize the design of pressure vessels. This study provides important theoretical support and practical guidance for the design of composite material pressure vessels.展开更多

Meningeal lymphatic vessels not only play a key role in the drainage of brain metabolites but also contribute to antigen delivery and immune cell activation. The advent of novel genomic technologies has enabled rapid progress in the characterization of myeloid and lymphoid cells and their interactions with meningeal lymphatic vessels within the central nervous system. In this review, we provide an overview of the multifaceted roles of meningeal lymphatic vessels within the context of the central nervous system immune network, highlighting recent discoveries on the immunological niche provided by meningeal lymphatic vessels. Furthermore, we delve into the mechanisms of crosstalk between meningeal lymphatic vessels and immune cells in the central nervous system under both homeostatic conditions and neurodegenerative diseases, discussing how these interactions shape the pathological outcomes. Regulation of meningeal lymphatic vessel function and structure can influence lymphatic drainage, cerebrospinal fluid-borne immune modulators, and immune cell populations in aging and neurodegenerative disorders, thereby playing a key role in shaping meningeal and brain parenchyma immunity.展开更多

Acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels also has positive effects as a treatment for cerebral ischemia/ reperfusion. Therefore, we hypothesized that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels plus mesenchymal stem cell transplantation may have better therapeutic effects on the promotion of angiogenesis and recovery of neurological function than either treatment alone. In the present study, human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells were isolated, cultured, identified and intracranially transplanted into the striatum and subcortex of rats at 24 hours following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. Subsequently, rats were electro-acupunctured at Conception and Governor vessels at 24 hours after transplantation. Modified neurological severity scores and immunohistochemistry findings revealed that the combined interventions of electro-acupuncture and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation clearly improved neurological impairment and up-regulated vascular endothelial growth factor expression around the isch- emic focus. The combined intervention provided a better outcome than mesenchymal stem cell transplantation alone. These findings demonstrate that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation have synergetic effects on promot- ing neurological function recovery and angiogenesis in rats after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.展开更多

The formation is achieved by the follower to track a virtual target defined relative to the leader. A robust adaptive target tracking law is proposed by using neural network and backstepping techniques. The advantage of the proposed control scheme is that the uncertain nonlinear dynamics caused by Coriolis/centripetal forces, nonlinear damping, unmodeled hydrodynamics and disturbances from the environment can be compensated by on line learning. Based on Lyapunov analysis, the proposed controller guarantees the tracking errors converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the control strategy.展开更多

METHODS: In 390 patients referred for coronary angiography to a single center (Luzerner Kantonsspital, Switzerland) between May 2007 and January 2011, 691 proximal vessel segments in left anterior descending, circumflex and/or right coronary arteries were imaged by VH-IVUS. Plaque burden and plaque composition(fibrous, fibro-fatty, necrotic core and dense calcium volumes) were analyzed in 3 age tertiles, according to gender and separated for vessels containing non-culprit or culprit lesions. To classify as vessel containing a culprit lesion, the patient had to present with an acute coronary syndrome, and the VH-IVUS had to be performed in a vessel segment containing the culprit lesion according to conventional coronary angiography. RESULTS: In non-culprit vessels the plaque burden increased significantly with aging (in men from 37% ± 12% in the lowest to 46% ± 10% in the highest age tertile, P < 0.001; in women from 30% ± 9% to 40% ± 11%, P < 0.001); men had higher plaque burden than women at any age (P < 0.001 for each of the 3 age tertiles). In culprit vessels of the lowest age tertile, plaque burden was significantly higher than that in non- culprit vessels (in men 48% ± 6%, P < 0.001 as compared to non-culprit vessels; in women 44% ± 18%, P = 0.004 as compared to non-culprit vessels). Plaque burden of culprit vessels did not significantly change during aging (plaque burden in men of the highest age tertile 51% ± 9%, P = 0.523 as compared to lowest age tertile; in women of the highest age tertile 49% ± 8%, P = 0.449 as compared to lowest age tertile). In men, plaque morphology of culprit vessels became increasingly rupture-prone during aging (increasing percentages of necrotic core and dense calcium), whereas plaque morphology in non-culprit vessels was less rupture-prone and remained constant during aging. In women, necrotic core in non-culprit vessels was very low at young age, but increased during aging resulting in a plaque morphology that was very similar to men. Plaque morphology in culprit vessels of young women and men was similar. CONCLUSION: This study provides evidence that age-and gender-related differences in plaque burden and plaque composition significantly depend on whether the vessel contained a non-culprit or culprit lesion.展开更多

The NOSTR1N rnRNA in umbilical tissues was determined by RT-PCR. The eNOS activity in umbilical vessels was spectrophotometrically detected. NO2 /NO3, the stable metabolic end products of NO, was measured by using nitrate reductase. RT-PCR showed that the expression level of NOSTRIN was significantly higher in women with PE than in the normal group (P〈0.01). The activity of eNOS was significantly decreased in PE group [(12.83±3.61) U/mg] than in normal group [(21.72±3.83) U/mg] (P〈0.01). The level of NO2-/NO3- in PE patients (27.53±7.48) pmol/mg was significantly lower than that of normal group (54.27±9.53) μmol/mg (P〈0.01). The significant negative correlation existed between the expression of NOSTRIN and the activity of eNOS in umbilical vessels of women with PE (r=-0.58, P〈0.01). It was concluded that the level of NOSTR1N expression was increased in umbilical vessel of women with PE, indicating that it may be involved in the pathogenesis of PE.展开更多

This study provides important theoretical support and practical guidance for the design of composite material pressure vessels.

文摘Meningeal lymphatic vessels form a relationship between the nervous system and periphery, which is relevant in both health and disease. Regulation of meningeal lymphatic vessel function and structure can influence lymphatic drainage, cerebrospinal fluid-borne immune modulators, and immune cell populations in aging and neurodegenerative disorders, thereby playing a key role in shaping meningeal and brain parenchyma immunity.

文摘Mesenchymal stem cell transplantation is a novel means of treating cerebral ischemia/reper- fusion, and can promote angiogenesis and neurological functional recovery. These findings demonstrate that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation have synergetic effects on promot- ing neurological function recovery and angiogenesis in rats after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.

文摘This paper is concerned with the formation control problem of multiple underactuated surface vessels moving in a leader-follower formation. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the control strategy.

文摘By increasing the yield strengths of austenitic stainless steels for pressure vessels with strain hardening techniques, the elastic load bearing capacity of austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels can be significantly improved. Two kinds of strain hardening methods are often used for austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels:Avesta model for ambient temperature applications and Ardeform model for cryogenic temperature applications. Both methods are obtained from conventional design rules based on the linear elastic theory, and only consider the hardening effect from materials.Consequently this limits the applications of strain hardening techniques for austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels because of safety concerns. This paper investigates the effect of strain hardening on the load bearing capacity of austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels under large deformation, based on the elastic-plastic theory.Firstly,to understand the effect of strain hardening on material behavior, the plastic instability loads of a round tensile bar specimen are derived under two different loading paths and validated by experiments.Secondly,to investigate the effect of strain hardening on pressure vessels strength, the plastic instability pressure under strain hardening is derived and further validated by finite element simulations.Further, the safety margin of pressure vessels after strain hardening is analyzed by comparing the safety factor values calculated from bursting tests, finite element analyses, and standards. The researching results show that the load bearing capacity of pressure vessels at ambient temperature is independent of the loading history when the effects of both material strain hardening and structural deformation are considered.Finite element simulations and bursting tests results show that the minimum safety factor of austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels with 5% strain hardening is close to the recommended value for common pressure vessels specified in the European pressure vessel standard. The proposed study also shows that in the strain hardening design of austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels, the calculation for plastic instability pressure could use theoretical formula or finite element analyses based on geometrical dimensions and material property parameters before strain hardening, but a 5%strain should be employed as a design limit. The proposed research can be used for the strain hardening design of austenitic stainless steel pressure vessels safely.

文摘Mechanical stimuli play critical roles in cardiovascular diseases,in which in vivo stresses in blood vessels present a great challenge to predict.Based on the structural-thermal coupled finite element method,we propose a thermal expansion method to estimate stresses in multi-layer blood vessels under healthy and pathological conditions. The proposed method provides a relatively simple and convenient means to predict reliable in vivo mechanical stresses with accurate residual stress. The method is first verified with the opening-up process and the pressure-radius responses for single and multi-layer vessel models. It is then applied to study the stress variation in a human carotid artery at different hypertension stages and in a plaque of vascular stenosis. Our results show that specific or optimal residual stresses exist for different blood pressures, which helps form a homogeneous stress distribution across vessel walls.High elastic shear stress is identified on the shoulder of the plaque, which contributes to the tearing effect in plaque rupture. The present study indicates that the proposed numerical method is a capable and efficient in vivo stress evaluation of patient-specific blood vessels for clinical purposes.

文摘Multi-layer pressure vessels are widely used in every field of high pressure technology. For the purpose of enhancing a vessels' load bearing capacity,a beneficial process like shrink-fit is usually employed. However, few documents on optimum design for multi-layer shrink-fit vessels made of different strength materials can be found, available data are mainly on two-layer vessels. In this paper,an optimum design approach is developed for shrink-fit multi-layer vessels under ultrahigh pressure by using different materials.Maximum shear stress theory is applied as design criteria. The inner and outer radii of a multi-layer vessel,as well as the material of each layer, are assumed to be known. The optimization mathematical model is,thereby, built.Lagrange multipliers method is required to obtain the optimal design formula of wall ratio(ratio of outer to inner radii) of each layer, from which the optimum formulas of shrinkage pressure and radial interference are derived with the superposition principle employed. These formulas are applicable for the optimization design of all multi-layer vessels made of different materials,or same materials. The formulas of the limit working pressure and the contact pressure show that the optimum wall ratio of each layer and limit working pressure are only related to all selected material strength and unrelated to the position of the layer placement in the vessel. However, shrinkage pressure is related to the position of the layer placement in the vessel.Optimization design of an open ended shrink-fit three-layer vessel using different materials and comparisons proved that the optimized multi-layer vessels have outstanding characteristics of small radial interference and are easier for assembly. When the stress of each layer is distributed more evenly and appropriately, the load bearing capability and safety of vessels are enhanced. Therefore, this design is material-saving and cost-effective,and has prospect of engineering application.

文摘AIM: To investigate age-and gender-related differences in non-culprit versus culprit coronary vessels assessed with virtual histology intravascular ultrasound (VH-IVUS). CONCLUSION: This study provides evidence that age-and gender-related differences in plaque burden and plaque composition significantly depend on whether the vessel contained a non-culprit or culprit lesion.
文摘The expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase traffic inducer (NOSTRIN) was examined in the umbilical vessels of the patients with pre-eclampsia (PE) to explore its possible role in the pathogenesis of PE. It was concluded that the level of NOSTR1N expression was increased in umbilical vessel of women with PE, indicating that it may be involved in the pathogenesis of PE.
