Mind Mapping and Teaching Strategies of English language in High School under the Guidance of Key Competence

Under the key competence,high school English teachers shall strengthen the use of mind mappings when developing reading and teaching activities,thus making English reading,and teaching more intuitive and logical.In this way,high school students can be more interested in English,and more active and autonomous in improving their English reading ability.This article explores and analyzes the problems existing in high school English reading teaching at current stage,and puts forward an effective strategy for using mind mappings to develop high school English reading and teaching under the key competence,with the hope of facilitating the development of English reading and teaching in high school.

Current Status of Key Competencies among Medical Students: A Latent Profile Analysis

The purpose of this study was to understand the overall level of key competencies of medical students and explore the potential profile of key competencies, promoting quality education, and improving the quality talent cultivation in medical colleges. A stratified random sampling method selected 734 medical students from four medical colleges in Chongqing Province of China. A general information questionnaire and a key competencies survey questionnaire were used to conduct the survey. The overall score and scores of each dimension of key competencies were analyzed. Latent profile analysis was conducted to classify the key competencies of medical students and compare the distribution differences of demographic variables among different categories. The results showed that 26% of medical students have never heard of the concept of key competencies, and 59% of them are not familiar with the content related to key competencies. The score of key competencies is 3.66 ± 0.60, with the highest score in the dimension of responsibility and the lowest score in the dimension of humanistic accomplishment. The latent profile analysis classified them into three categories: “low key competencies group (14.71%)”, “medium key competencies group (36.79%)”, and “high key competencies group (48.50%)”. The R3STEP regression analysis results showed statistically significant differences in educational level and whether they served as student cadres among different key competencies categories of medical students. This paper discusses three different potential key competencies categories among medical students, and the overall level of key competencies is relatively good. However, medical students lack a comprehensive and systematic understanding of key competencies. Humanistic accomplishment, healthy living, and practical innovation are the three dimensions with lower scores and should be given more attention. Medical colleges should integrate the concept of key competencies into teaching and implement it in medical practice to cultivate more high-quality medical talents for society.

On Competences Required for EFL Teachers in Secondary School

With the implementation of English Curriculum Standard for Senior High School,core competence,a vital construct in deepening curriculum reforms,has been brought into the spotlight,which attaches importance to cultivating students’key competences so as to realize the value of people cultivation.In another angle,the continuous intensification of education reform poses more demands on the faculty.What competences required for EFL teachers worth taking into consideration seriously.The paper elaborates required competences for EFL teachers hoping to offer pragmatic suggestions for EFL teachers in the perspective of professional development.

A Study of EFL Reading Teaching in Senior High Schools Based on Key Competencies of Subject

With the release of English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School,the cultivation of students’key competencies of English subject has become the major concern of many English teachers in senior high schools.As an important part of English teaching,reading teaching is supposed to take the responsibility of helping students form key competencies.In this study,the current situation of English reading teaching in senior high schools is investigated to find out whether English teachers fully and efficiently carry out the cultivation of key competencies of English subject in practical teaching.Data from questionnaires and interviews of teachers indicate practical problems exist in cultivating students’key competencies in English subject in senior high school,so teachers need to have a further understanding of them and take more innovative activities to help students develop their language competence,cultural disposition,thinking quality and learning ability.

A Comparative Study on the Cultivation Path of Key Competencies and STEAM Competencies

The concept of STEAM education is essentially a multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary,integrated talent training model,based on the transformation of the world economic system and the response to the impact of education reform throughout the world.In recent years,schools in China have put forward educational theories for the integration and grafting of STEAM education based on the different cognition in Key Competencies and STEAM Competencies.This article first discusses the two initial concepts to identify cognitive bias;then,the curriculum design to explore the implementation of the two different strategies and the effect of the evaluation criteria described.

I4EU(Industry 4.0 for European Union)--An European Initiative to Develop Training Activity

This paper presents an on-going European ERASMUS project to develop training programs and tools for Industry 4.0.After an introduction on the background and objective of the project,the paper will give an overview on the structure,partners and organization of the project.Based on the State-of-the-art,the targeted intellectual outputs(IOs)will be presented in detail and the set of planned activities to achieve IOs are outlined.The project progress and preliminary results are shown and the concluding summary will be given at the end of the paper.
