In early childhood education,language education is a crucial component,yet in kindergarten teaching,there often exists issues such as“emphasis on knowledge and neglect of practice.”To address this problem,teachers need to incorporate children’s literature in a reasonable manner to create a conducive environment for language education for young children.This article analyzes and discusses the significance of integrating children’s literature into kindergarten language education activities,and proposes strategies for addressing the current issues in kindergarten language education activities and conducting them based on children’s literature.

Chinese Language Teacher Competency: A Literature Review for a Study Series

Teaching is a special profession with complex pedagogical procedures. It prepares qualified workers and citizens who are expected to yield values and bring benefits to the society, the nation, and the whole world (Nessipbayeva, 2012). This makes the profession require well-qualified teachers. In light of this, teachers must have (and be able to exercise) a broad range of competency array every day in an especially complex environment so that students can realize their full academic potential with the help of teachers (Jackson, 1990). The more competent a teacher is, the better students' achievements will be (Johansson, Myrberg,& Rosen, 2015). It is urgent for us to know how to prepare competent teachers.

Advanced Research Projects in the Humanities： New Trends on Literature, Languages, and Linguistics Studies

Following the author＇s own experiencing in supervising Ph.D. theses in literature, languages, linguistics, and teacher education, the author will focus on new trends of advanced research projects that have been contributing to reinforce the importance of research in these areas in a time of crisis in the humanities. The organization and funding of science and scholarship in Europe has been promoting anything else but social sciences research, including educational areas. The author will follow the recent call from the Board of Trustees da Academia Europaea to redirect policies toward the organization of multidisciplinary research projects. Among these so-called ＂small subjects＂, we will find original, inspired, and valuable research projects in the humanities, It is worth mentioning that the crisis that has been diminishing this type of scholarship strangely cohabits with several policies promoted by the European Commission and the Council of Europe to develop programs for plurilingual education and linguistic diversity, new framework strategies for multilingualism, and the use of new technologies for language teaching and learning. A strong emphasis on research projects leading to interdisciplinary studies involving literature and pure sciences, plus the development of outreach research projects will be proposed.

Teaching and Learning Literature in the English Language Curriculum in Vietnamese University Education:Problems and Solutions

Taking as its point of departure the problems which English-majored students face when confronted directly with the course in literature at university,this study was conducted mainly through an analysis of student-and-teacher responses to questionnaires together with document analysis and reviews on the author’s experience in teaching and managing literary courses at his university.The sample includes 10 teachers in charge of the courses and 150 students attending these courses from five universities.The findings indicate that the teaching and learning of literature in the English language curriculum at these universities is facing certain problems,among which are:limited experience of mother tongue literature;limited experience of literary language;limited experience of English or American literature;and limited experience or knowledge of the world,life,people.From the implications identified,the findings of this paper are believed to yield further insights into the improvement of literature teaching and learning at university in Vietnamese contexts.

Cultivating Students＇Intercultural Awareness through Literature in Language Teaching

Literature in the language teaching can be used to arouse students＇ intercultural awareness. The assessment of their understanding is carried out against specific criteria. The paper shows how a literary text can be used to develop an understanding ofothemess and how students＇ intercultural competence can be developed through the literature texts.

The Use of Children＇s Literature With University English as a Foreign Language Learners in Taiwan

This paper reports findings from a longitudinal qualitative study that investigated the use of children＇s literature for Taiwan Residents University English as a Foreign Language （EFL） students＇ reading. During the course of their sophomore year, 17 students participated and each student held two to seven individual reading sessions, to which they brought a self-selected children＇s picture storybook or children＇s novel they had finished reading on their own and orally read it to the researcher. Their oral reading and the discussion of each book with the researcher were audio recorded. To gain insight into the reading progress, these oral data were categorized and analyzed in terms of mispronunciation patterns, misunderstanding of vocabulary, misinterpretation of sentence or passage, and researcher＇s guidance. General findings of the 17 participants were presented in three categories： （1） vocabulary acquisition, （2） common comprehension problems, and （3） common pronunciation problems. Further analysis of two motivated students who read five to seven books revealed that （1） these two EFL learners gradually developed conscious awareness of their own pronunciation and comprehension errors and （2） they progressively acquired better competence to apply the pronunciation tips and reading comprehension techniques provided by the researcher during previous sessions. These findings and corresponding implications are discussed and further research suggestions are made.

I have chosen this title because it represents a question which floats over the existence of literariness in authors from State of Amazon. Literariness, from Jakobson＇s viewpoint, is the number of proprieties which characterizes the literary language. In this regard, the literary text distinguishes itself for the fact of transforming realities and for use it as model to create ＂fantastic＂ worlds, which exist only in the texts, once they set up themselves through metaphors, caricature, allegory, and likelihood. Formalists declare that the object of literary science must be studied from the specific particularities that differentiate the literary objects of all other subject. There is a book, written by the poet Jorge Tufic, which raises that same question, and finally responds： ＂there is a lost language which must be recovered＂ to better understand that we can be a new research and creativity field. I have chosen then, for this study, three tales oftbe writer Arthur Engr^cio to discuss this question. It is aimed at contributing, in a general way, to the knowledge of the literature produced by Engr^cio, as well as to extend it to other perspectives heretofore little studied.

Through its bilingual policy, the Singapore government has been committed to creating a pool of bicultural talents, by supplementing the teaching of Chinese language with classes on Chinese literature and culture. This thesis seeks to understand the pros and cons of Chinese literature education in Singapore by analysing its development over the years. The teaching of Chinese literature began with the first wave of Chinese migration to Nanyang in the 19th century, and from there, it went through three phases of development： relocation, adjustment, and burgeoning.
